Do you remember that Shulk, Rex and A entered the Origin's core after Alpha thing?
I thought they needed some goodbye time after the Z fight.
(After the fight with Z)
It was over.
The almighty leader of the Moebius, Z, was gone.
The six Ouroboros, and the heroes all over Aionios, succeeded.
They were finally done with everything in the world, and The Origin started to get fixed as time passed.
They were finally freed from the infinite cycle of life and death during the war, and they were finally able to live their own lives.
However… There was one condition.
They needed to get separated to reunite again. That included the worlds, too.
And the consequences of separation were harsh. They will forget everything that happened in the world of Aionios when the world returns to normal.
The fact would have shocked and made the Ouroboros terrified if they heard it some time ago, but this time, they were prepared. They learned their lessons from their journey and the Moebius, so despite their hearts wanting to stay together, they themselves were getting ready by saying their goodbyes and farewells. They exchanged gifts, hearty words, and when it came to Noah and Mio, it was a kiss.
The Heroes were also the case. Zeon promised Juniper that he will definitely visit her and start the farm they always wanted. Ethel expressed her gratitude to Cammuravi, who had been her protector in her second life. Ashera was already taunting Teach for their next battle in the new world. And Ghondor was joking with Monica to name her better when she gives birth to her again.
However…
The Heroes and The Ouroboros were not the only ones who were saying farewell.
Inside the Origin's core, there stood the first heroes. Shulk, Rex, and A. They worked as the Origin's core after Alpha got defeated eons ago, and their duty was now finished. As they felt the end was nigh, they also exchanged their goodbyes.
"Can't believe we went this far," Shulk said.
"Yeah, looks like our will has descended well to the kids," Rex said, unconsciously touching his chin.
"I knew this would happen." A added. Giving a small grin.
"So…A, like how the kids are saying down there, do we actually lose our memories if we go back to our worlds?" Rex asked.
"Correct. What happened in this world would disappear inside your head. But who knows? The fact that you guys experienced something in this world won't disappear. So…Your existence might undergo some changes based on your experiences. The memories could be not explicit, but the human being named Shulk and Rex might be different than before." A said with a stoic tone.
"That's pretty complicated…" Rex chuckled.
"Yeah, but that's how Alvis works usually." Shulk also laughed.
"Even so… It pretty hurts, you know. Forgetting all of this." Rex said with a sigh.
"Well, it could be good for the majority, since they have painful memories of war inside their heads. And that includes us, too. We're practically retired guys getting summoned into the battlefield in their retirement homes." Shulk said.
"Could be true… But you know, we also have valuable memories, like meeting our kids again and seeing them grow up again. And…Meeting you, Shulk." Rex said.
"Heh… Yeah… That moment was gold… But you know, Rex? How about your family? And to me, it's my family. I want to see Fiora. I want to see Dunban. I want to see Reyn, Sharla, and Panacea with them. And…I also want to see Nikol, who doesn't need to fight in there." Shulk said, with a reminiscing look in his eyes.
"Yeah, you're right. We have a family… And our friends, who are not out in the world of Aionios… But still, it still hurts a bit to lose a good friend and a trusted war buddy like you, Shulk." Rex said.
"I also cherish what we've achieved. I really do. But I'm also curious about what relationship we would have if we were not in war. We could be drink mates if we don't need to fight against something." Shulk smiled.
"That sounds equally awesome! We can bring our friends and family together when that actually happens." Rex replied with a chuckle, as he imagined the scene.
"Yeah, and I'm pretty curious about your full family. Especially the part where you have three wives and three respective kids."
"You really into that, eh? Are you jealous?"
"Totally not. I'm only for Fiora. And she'll kill me if…"
"I think I get it. And…yeah, I know that my situation isn't common." Rex laughed.
"But thanks to that, one of your kids became the city's founder, and your other kid saved this whole world. Plus, one of your wives is the literal queen of Agnus. You practically conquered this world with your family." Shulk joked.
"Ha! Never thought about that! You can be pretty funny sometimes, mate." Rex laughed, patting Shulk's back.
"Heh, well, seeing them made me curious about their main selves, too."
"Don't worry, I will properly introduce them to you if we meet again. And remember, that Nia and your Queen had a connection before Aionios happened. We will meet in no time!" Rex ensured with a thumbs-up.
"That's good to hear. Gotta say thanks to Melia." Shulk grinned.
"Yeah, anyway, speaking of Melia… Did you know that she actually loves y…." Rex tried to speak, but A interrupted.
"Are you guys done? It's almost time, you know."
"Right, right, then Shulk, that can go later," Rex said.
"Wait, didn't you say something about Meli…"
"He says that it can come later, Shulk." A stopped him.
"Well… Okay…?" Shulk scratched his long hair.
"Anyway, looks like our time here is up! Shulk?" Rex said, offering Shulk his right hand.
"I got it, Rex. It was a pleasure meeting you." Shulk said, stretching out his mechanical arm.
"I'll be looking forward to seeing you again. With my two eyes." Rex said with a laugh.
"And I'll offer you my proper right hand for our handshake," Shulk replied with a laugh, too.
"I guess you two are still being dads after all that, eh?" A chuckled.
(Omake)
"By the way, A." Shulk said, as he turned to A.
"What is it?"
"What form will you take when you go back? You practically have two forms now. A male form of Alpha, and a female form of A." Shulk asked.
"That's pretty interesting…" Rex added.
"Hmm, I think I'll stay as a female." A responded.
"Oh, really? Why?" Rex asked.
"Fans like my A form better." A replied.
"…"
"…"
The silence was pretty loud.
"What on Bionis are 'fans'?" Shulk said.
"Wait, I think I get it… Or did I…?" Rex added.
"And there is another phenomenal reason." A continued.
"Another…?" Shulk mumbled.
"Yes. It's about the thirty-fourth rule." A said with a stoic face.
"Rule….?" Both protagonists looked confused.
"Yeah, it's a rule that I can keep better in my A form." A said, nodding.
"How…how do you know all that, A…?" Shulk asked, with trembling eyes.
"I'm a computer, remember? Since I'm a computer, I have access to…."
"Okay, okay, got it! I think that is the one talk that needs to be delayed to later times, okay?"
This chapter could have had no crack, but I happened to insert on in the Omake.
