"Thank you." Said Tia.
Tia then walked in, and Ella shut the door behind her. Ella knew something was wrong, and once she sat down; she asked Tia what was wrong. Tia took a deep breath, and then looked right into Ella's eyes.
"Ella, I have some bad news; it's Tobin." Said Tia.
"What is wrong with my brother?" Ella asked.
"There was an attempt on the Noble's life today. Tobin was able to protect her from being killed, but he was killed from behind with a sword." Said Tia.
"That can't be. My brother can't be dead. I need him, Tyrell needs him. He was the only one that allows us to be able to live within the walls of the palace grounds." Said Ella.
"I know, but you don't have to worry about that." Said Tia.
"I do have to. I am going to need Tyrell to find work so that we can have a roof over our heads, and food to eat." Said Ella.
Tia got Ella's attention, and seen her eyes full of tears. Tia was about to start explaining what Lady Angara told her, but Tyrell spoke.
"You don't have to worry mother; I will make sure that we don't leave here. I will make sure that I take care of you." Said Tyrell.
Tyrell then ran off, and Tia wasn't able to get his attention to stop him. Ella then asked Tia about what she was going to say before Tyrell spoke. Tia sat back down, and cleared her throat.
"Before Tobin died, he made Lady Angara promise not to make you leave. Lady Angara also understood that since you don't know her; you may not trust that she wouldn't change her mind later." Said Tia.
"She would be right." Said Ella.
"So, she has deemed you, and Tyrell my family." Said Tia.
"You're saying that as long as you are living on the palace grounds, we can as well." Said Ella puzzled.
"Yes." Said Tia.
Ella was glad to hear that, she relaxed a bit. She then asked Tia about telling Tyrell. Tia said that she'd go find him, and then bring him back so he could be told by the both of them. Ella said alright, and said that she'd wait for her to get back with Tyrell. Tia then left the house, and went to find Tyrell.
Meanwhile, Angara had finished her snack, and thought about taking a walk. One of the maids came out of the kitchen, and asked if she was finished; then asked if she wanted her to take her bowl to the kitchen. Angara said that would be wonderful, and thanked the maid. Angara then got up, and headed for the courtyard. As she was walking, she came to the garden where Tobin was killed. She watched as two guards were standing outside of the entrance. Angara went to turn towards the stables, but then heard yelling coming from the area where the barracks were; so, she headed that way. As she was coming up to the building; she seen Asen getting mad at a young man arguing with him. When she got to them, she heard more of what was going on.
"I need to join the guard now; I need to help my mom." Said Tyrell.
"You can't you are now old enough to join the guard." Said Asen.
"What is going on here?" Angara asked.
"My lady. This young man wants to join the guard, but he isn't sixteen. I can't allow him to join the guard." Said Asen.
"My lady. I just learned that my uncle was killed, and without him; my mother, and I will have to leave." Said Tyrell.
Angara wanted to hear what he had to say. Ten minutes later, she learned that he was Tobin's nephew. Angara turned to Asen, and asked if there were small matters that the other guards found to be annoying. Asen said that there were, but they knew that they had to get done.
"Asen, allow him to join. Put him to those tasks till he is old enough to join the guard." Said Angara.
"My lady." Said Asen.
"Asen, please." Said Angara.
"Very well. Come with me kid, and I will get you your gear. I will be also laying out the ground rules; do you understand?" Asen asked.
"Yes." Said Tyrell.
