Chapter 17
Outskirts of the Clover Kingdom, Elven Tribe
The elves had prospered nearly a year later after the wedding incident. With help from the other emperors and support of human kingdoms that did not generally discriminate against elves, the elves were able to establish a mini kingdom of their own. It wasn't anything imposing or anything to scare away strong foes. In all honesty, the small kingdom looked like one of the hidden villages of the fairies. Which did help as fairies typically keep barriers to keep away intruders from entering their homes.
At least for the elves, they had a nice home that wasn't too flashy but good enough to avoid potential attacks. At the same time, they accepted a few of their fellow elven brothers who had lived as travelers and nomads. Giving them an opportunity to rest and settle down in a home they can share.
So far, the only concern for the elves were visitors as many were still shaken up from the near death experience. Even Lemiel tried his best to not offend or scare anyone.
"And you had magic tools locked away and hidden?" Lemiel asked, earning some attention.
"Yes, but please lower your voice." Licht said as he was strolling around with his friend and Secre.
Secre had to bow her head, "I apologize for Prince Lemiel, he's too excitable about magical subjects." she said apologetically.
"No need to apologize young lady, I think everyone knows your prince's personality by this point." Licht said. "And as for your question Lemiel, these are not necessarily tools. Rather, artifacts that date back centuries. I mention them now because I ask for your expertise." He said.
Now Lemiel looked curious, "If it's that important, what do you ask of me?" he asked.
There, Licht did something considered risky and frowned upon. He took Lemiel and Secre to a secret location hidden behind an invisible barrier. Once it was released and locked behind them, Licht revealed a cavern like entrance that looked like ancient catacombs but rather than remnants of the dead. Lemiel witnessed various artifacts that looked old and lost their luster, but only because of the lack of light and positioning.
This was not a treasure vault filled with gold and jewelry. It was damp, but secured as the elves did not want to display something worth their protection to look pretty. Except for one thing in particular.
A holy sword.
Standing at the end of the cavern like location. Lemiel witnessed a sword hanged against the wall shining brilliantly once Lemiel came close to it.
"What is this?" Lemiel asked as he was unable to look away.
"A holy sword, they are said to contain holy magic. Magic that shines greater than light magic itself and is said to gifted by gods themselves." Licht answered.
"If it's different from my magic and it's ancient artifact, then I'm afraid I can only do so much." Lemiel said, for once feeling lost.
"But I have faith in you my friend. You've proven your desire to help others and seek out knowledge." Licht said.
Secre placed a hand onto Lemiel's shoulder, "You are wise and strong, your highness. But if you believe you cannot do it, there is no shame." she said.
Lemiel snorted, "Well if you put it like that, I'll feel nothing but shame for not trying at all." he said as he scratched the back of his head sheepishly. "But tell me Licht, what is the story behind this sword? How did you find it?" he asked.
"It was given to us by an ancient hero. A woman named Emilia who was half human and half angel with silver hair that displayed her pseudo divinity but turned red when among the mortal humans." Licht explained.
"An ancient hero? Is the Hero Emilia still around?" Lemiel asked Licht, but didn't realize the obvious answer.
With the Shield Hero's Party
Mito sneezed loudly, "I think these late night missions are killing my immune system." she said before Rishia handed her a tissue.
As Mito was cleaning herself up, everyone else was getting prepared for the upcoming final battle with Kyo. However there was a quick reunion meant for Kizuna and her friends. Namely Glass along with L'arc and Therese who she was giving a good scolding to. From what those three were trying to do, Kizuna was beyond angry after Glass told her what her party was up to while Kizuna was missing.
"You not only invaded another world but tried to kill the other heroes? Are you stupid or something!? Why would you do that!?" Kizuna angrily asked.
"Well you see… we… uh… had to…" Glass tried to say but looked ashamed.
"Please don't be mad at Glass, Kizuna. She had good intentions." Therese said, not realizing Kizuna was angry at her and L'arc too.
"I'm angry at ALL of you! What made you think this was a good idea!? What if you three got stuck in the other world!?" Kizuna asked.
"It was with good intentions! I swear!" Therese said, trying to defend herself.
Greyfarn shook his head, "Jumping through portals like those are dangerous. You're lucky you didn't end up somewhere worse or meet someone who can flatten you all like a sandwich." he said.
Arashi chuckled, "You guys are lucky you didn't run into our nii-san. He wouldn't turned you guys into accordions." he said.
In the mind of Arashi, he just imagined Naruto squeezing L'arc and the girls and then stretching them. Where he would proceeded to glue them together and create an accordion. A quite childish yet colorful imagination.
"You want them be a part of squash and stretch cartoon?" Naofumi asked.
"You can read minds now?" Arashi asked.
"Your mind is the easiest to read." Naofumi answered as Arashi panicked.
"Regardless, your plan to kill the heroes of another world would have only left the other world defenseless. Not saving it." Greyfarn said before stroking his beard. "In fact, it's like the old saying when you're being chased by a stampede of giraffes. "I don't need to run faster than them, I need to run faster than you." and then you chuck the guy you were running away with and let them slow down the giraffes." he explained
"It made sense at the time." Glass said with a bashful look on her face.
"We had to do something." Therese said.
"Then think before you do it." Kizuna said before a man spoke with L'arc. L'arc then started walking away, "Hey, where are you going? Come back here so I can lecture you!" she yelled.
"Can't, gotta go. We'll talk about this later." L'arc said, unfazed by Kizuna's rant.
"I hate that guy sometimes." Kizuna said before looking at Naofumi. "I'm mad at you too, why didn't you tell me anything?" she asked.
"And would it have mattered if I found the time to tell you?" Naofumi asked.
"Yes it would! Don't just play it off!" Kizuna yelled as she stomped her foot on the floor.
"So where's L'arc going?" Naofumi asked, ignoring the angry woman who looked like a child.
"Oh, don't you know? L'arc is the king of Sikul." Therese answered as it it were obvious.
"A king? Wait, a king literally abandoned his post?" Naofumi asked.
"Dude, that is messed up. We have inter-dimensional travel. You know what you guys did could cause a war, right?" Arashi asked, making Therese and Glass nervous.
"That we do." Greyfarn said as he nodded. "Assuming that my wife doesn't take over the economy. I think she already conquered the marketplace of that other nation." he said.
"I thought you were divorced?" Arashi asked.
Greyfarn laughed, "We're trying things out again. It will work this time." he said, ignoring the multiple times he's entered and left a relationship with Momon.
Mito moved the topic, "Since L'arc is a king. I think he should reimburse us." she said, making Naofumi smile.
"That's right, Raphtalia and Filo are filled with mental anguish. Even this kid here has explosive diarrhea from the food." Naofumi said as he pointed at Arashi.
"Oh uh… yeah! The food sucks!" Arashi said.
Therese and Glass narrowed their eyes at Naofumi. That's when Mito's mischievous and cunning side came out.
"Naofumi's also a celebrity with an army of lawyers. We'll take this to court." Mito said as she pulled out a magazine.
Arashi was suddenly lying on the ground as Tomoe and Komoe kneeled beside him, "I'm dying and it's King L'arc's fault that I'm leaving behind a widow and a child." he said. He then let out a fake gasp, "Oh my poor sick elderly mother. Tell her that she has one less son after today." He added.
"Papa, don't die!" Komoe begged, thinking this was real while Tomoe faked her tears
Therese sighed, "Just send an invoice." she said.
Arashi then sat up, "Add a soda to that bill. I'm thirsty." he said.
"Yes, we should be compensated by the young master." Naofumi said.
Later, in town
L'arc's eye was twitching, "Stop calling me that." he said.
"But I am only showing you respect, young master." Naofumi said, mocking him.
"Do not call me that and also, drop your lawsuit!" L'arc commanded.
"Is it not the duty of the young master to compensate for guests?" Naofumi asked, further annoying him. "Besides, it's the duty of a hero to help one another without asking for anything in return." he said.
This confused Raphtalia, "But Master Naofumi, we usually charge…" she was interrupted by Naofumi covering her mouth.
"Not now, the adults are talking." Naofumi said. "Anyways, heroes help heroes and all I ask is for an apology." he said.
"In the form of paying for your expenses." L'arc said as they were at a weapons store.
"You are very wise, young master." Naofumi said with a smirk.
As of now, the group was at a weapons store that was managed by a woman named Romina. Romina was like Erhard, the blacksmith that Naofumi usually frequents. Romona seemed to have a good relationship with Kizuna's party as well as being good at reading people from the looks of things.
"You shouldn't be so cheap L'arc. You represent all of Sikul, not just yourself. You don't wanna hurt the nation's image do you?" Romina asked.
"I already said I was sorry." L'arc replied.
"You know what, I don't think you did." Kizuna said, making L'arc frown.
Before anyone said anything else, the group heard the townspeople panicking. Everyone ran out and saw the crowd running away. As some girl with green hair with a sword landed on the roof and glared at Naofumi's party. She then aimed her sword at Raphtalia.
"I am Yomogi Emarl, I am here to kill you all in the name of Kyo." the girl said.
"Water Style: Water Gun!" Arashi yelled as he hit Yomogi with a giant ball of water that made her hit the ground. A couple of people looked at Arashi with questioning looks, "What? She said she works for Kyo. I'm just being proactive." he said.
"He has a point!" Naofumi said as Yomogi recovered.
At that point, everyone already scrambled to chase after Yomogi. Filo used her support magic, L'arc's group chased after Yomogi and Naofumi's group tried cutting her off. The scuffle wouldn't take too long despite Yomogi having presented some good skill in kenjutsu as she blocked Glass' attacks. However, that's when Yomogi's sword started to glow brightly and the strange bloodshot eye on the handle had opened wide.
"Hey, drop that sword! It's dangerous!" Kizuna said, realizing the danger.
But Yomogi was in denial, "That's a dumb way to try and make me to surrender." she said.
"Sure, keep using the glowing sword with the evil eye. That sounds like a good way to know it's safe." Arashi said.
"This sword was given to me by Kyo himself! He would never harm me!" Yomogi argued.
"Simp!" Arashi yelled before Mito slapped him. "Ow! What was that for?" he asked.
"You're not helping." Mito said before Yomogi's sword came to life.
They say to never judge based on appearances. However, in a world of magic, the most evil looking magic tool is evil. Because this sword unleashed several tentacles and started draining Yomogi's life force like a parasite. If Yomogi didn't realize that the sword is evil now then she's clearly insane.
"That thing is killing her!" Kizuna pointed out.
Mito suddenly jumped towards the roof, "Flame Breathing: Rising Scorching Sun!" she yelled as she cut the tentacles.
Mito then caught Yomogi's body as she felt weakened from losing some of her vitality. The evil looking sword fell and was blocked by Naofumi's shield as it almost hit someone.
"Okay, the crazy girl is down. Now, what do we do about the evil sword?" Tomoe said.
"Maybe the old wizard can put it in storage or take it apart." Naofumi suggested as he didn't want anyone touching the sword.
With Kyo
Being petty and angry like a small child, Kyo was trying to think about what to do next. Being the narcissist that he is, Kyo's partnership with Kazuki was as genuine as a fake leather bag sold at a third rate store. Like many people who see them as above their fellow man, Kyo saw Kazuki for what he is. An arrogant man child with some degree of skill, but with no useful abilities worth mentioning. Kyo was the one working behind the scenes and telling him what to do and now the idiot was gone.
Kazuki had one chance to obtain the Vassal Sword and he failed. It was to be expected, but Kyo thought he could modify Kazuki's body or do something to the shrine that held the vassal weapon. Instead, Raphtalia appeared and the blade chose her as if it were Thor's Hammer. Even worse, he can hear Kazuki's harem girls crying and it was giving him a massive headache.
"Kazuki-sama, you can't be gone! I won't accept it!" one of them said.
After being caught in a freeze spell and allowing Naofumi's party to escape. Kazuki somehow went missing when he was seen among the guards were helping in chasing after Raphtalia. Initially, the girls thought Kazuki somehow broke free of the spell and continued chasing after them to obtain the Vassal Sword, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
"He has to return! He just has to!" the other girl said in denial.
"Be quiet you two! Not only did your lover fail me, he's likely gone into hiding or gotten himself killed!" Kyo screamed, having had enough of their crying.
"We have to locate him! Then kill that evil Shield Hero!" one of them said with her partner nodding.
That's when Kyo came up with an idea that he thought would reduce his headache. Maybe even slow down Naofumi as well while playing on the rage of the girls. It's not like Kyo thought that the two girls were any better than Kazuki himself.
"Girls, maybe I can help you obtain your vengeance on the Shield Loser. Kind of as a little boost to get rid of him for good, for humiliating you both." Kyo said.
"And even kill that dragon girl?" one of them asked.
Both feeling ashamed after Tomoe casually defeated them in one hit. Kyo nodded as he thought this would further motivate them.
"Yes, enough power to make the dragons your bitches." Kyo said.
"Then we accept!" the girls said.
"Perfect!" Kyo said as he prepared to get to work.
However, just as Kyo had prepped himself to create two new weapons. He heard someone enter his lab and as he prepared to execute whatever intruder had interrupted him. He was shocked to find Kazuki alive and in perfect condition.
"Where were you!? Do you know how long these women have been bitching and crying about you!?" Kyo angrily asked. Only to watch as Kazuki remained silent and impassive, "Are you mocking me? Because it seems that I have to remind you about why you are relevant in that idiotic country!" he yelled angrily.
Kazuki continued to stare in silence as if he lacked the cognitive ability to speak. However, this led his harem to rush towards him.
"Kazuki-sama, you're alive!"
"We've missed you!"
The two cried out and wanted to embrace the man they worshipped and adored. However, being the animals they truly are, the two girls stopped in place as their instincts said something was wrong. Kyo was still silent and just standing there with no emotional expression. Not even a scowl or his ever present arrogant smirk.
"Kazuki-sama, is something wrong?" one of them asked.
At that moment, Kazuki's body throbbed as his flesh moved on it's own as if it were made of oil. Seconds later, it turned into a black ooze and Kazuki's whole body transformed into a large muscular and monstrous form. With the once arrogant fake hero being replaced by a monster with instincts to match a wild animal.
"Kazuki-sama, no!" they screamed as they realized their beloved was lost.
Soon enough, the entire laboratory started to shake and Kyo instantly recognized the type of monster his pawn had become. Now, the rest of Dumas' black ooze monsters were making their way. Kyo's rival wanted to put an end to his life.
"That bastard! If you want a war! You've got one, shit face!" Kyo cursed as he grabbed his book just as more monsters arrived at his lab.
Meanwhile, with Naruto
Naruto was looking around in desperation, "Has anyone seen Skee-Ball? I can't let the gnome wander around." he said.
Naruto continued to look around for his gnome, unaware that Skee-Ball jumped overboard when he wasn't looking. Many crewmen among the airship were glad about that because they thought the tiny creature is a dangerous menace. They didn't want to catch a disease from the gnome if it ended up biting them or spreads his disease in some other way. Leaving Naruto to continue looking around the airship in order to contain his gnome.
"I knew I should have stuffed him in a plastic bag." Naruto said.
"Dear, could you please focus on something that isn't your gnome?" Yasaka asked.
"Yasaka, my love, if I don't find Skee-Ball. We're going to have a pandemic with lots of people foaming from the mouth." Naruto replied, making his wife sigh.
"Why do you always carry a gnome with you?" Yasaka asked.
"It's kept me alive since I was a child and stumbled onto… well, lots of trouble." Naruto answered with a sigh.
"Kunou and I will be waiting for you at your mother's home. Then we will be returning home tonight as well." Yasaka said as she left with her children.
"Alright." Naruto responded as he kept looking for his gnome.
Then a soldier approached Naruto, "Sire, I believe Skee-Ball may have jumped overboard during transit. Either before or after we crossed realms."he said.
Naruto slapped his forehead, "Well now there really be a rabies pandemic. Do you have any good news by chance?" he asked.
The soldier took a step to the side before gesturing to a black cat wearing a pointed hat. The cat let out a meow as it jumped up to the top of a crate. Where it looked up to Naruto as if it had something to say.
"What do you have to say, courier?" Naruto asked.
"Nya, reward please." the cat said.
"Your reward is I don't leave you hangin upside down over a barrel of mini octopi." Naruto said, scaring the cat. "Do you have any other requests, Blair?" he asked.
Blair stiffened in fear, "Nope, Kuroka-chan just wanted me to give you the news on her end." she said nervously. "Basically, the cult she's working undercover for want to meet up again after three years. Some weird stuff is going down and they want some creatures called bijuu." she explained.
Naruto nodded as he understood the main goal of the Akatsuki. So far, Naruto only saw this as craziness from those criminals as the bijuu sounded strong and with the recent attack from Shukaku. A bijuu could decimate an army and despite their size and power, they're not stupid and incapable of thought. Regardless of whether or not the Akatsuki have the ability to capture such creatures, it already sounded like danger for them to have the bijuu in their possession.
Kyo is a prime example of what happens when such dangerous power is taken and controlled. That man had the power of a vassal weapon but the mind of a spoiled child.
"Is there any other details? Anything more important than their current plans?" Naruto asked.
"Oh yeah! Kuroka-chan wrote down the names and descriptions of each member she could find." Blair said as she pulled out a scroll from her hat. "Just look here, she didn't get their whole life stories but just what they look like and what some of them can do." she explained as Naruto took the scroll.
Naruto read over the scrolls contents and made sure to make a note to send a copy to his father. Who would no doubt send copies to Ay and the other kages if they are willing to cooperate.
"So nine members, I'm surprised with how much Kuroka was able to get written down without getting caught." Naruto said.
From what he read, Kuroka had the names of the Akatsuki members, the images of their headbands and some abilities. At best, the Crimson Emperor expected Kuroka to make a few crude drawings and maybe a couple of names.
"Well then, I'll be seeing to it that you obtain a proper reward." Naruto said.
"Nya! Thank you, your majesty!" Blair happily said as she jumped for joy.
"I'll recall you for your payment. For now, keep in contact with your compatriot." Naruto said.
"Sure thing, nya." Blair said before running into the distance.
"Those cats are crazy." Naruto muttered. "Still, such creatures are always the least suspecting." he said before leaving the airship to find Minato.
Maybe get an update on his siblings and their mission with Naofumi as well.
The next day, with Naofumi's party
After a long argument with Yamogi claiming that Kyo is a good man who does shady things for the sake of a good plan. That plan being that Kyo allegedly wants to stop the waves. Along with Kizuna being believing Yamogi and thinking that Kyo could possibly be a misunderstood man who things the ends justify the means. Which became frustrating as Naofumi repeatedly explained what the waves are as Kizuna never witnessed them but understood their danger.
Still, she wanted to listen to Yamogi who explained her childhood friendship with Kyo.
The next day, the group would return to Romina's shop to finish up on upgrading their gear. Which ended with everyone putting their bill on the "Young Master" to pay for their expenses. Surprisingly, L'arc would find something much more frustrating than being forced to pay for everyone and being called "Young Master" by everyone. That specific thing would be the waves as they lit up the skies way before their intended arrival.
"You know Kizuna, maybe you were right. Kyo really is the good guy. He wants to banish the waves by making them appear whenever he feels like it." Naofumi said sarcastically, making Kizuna feel bad.
"He probably sets oraphanges on fire so he can prevent world hunger." Arashi added.
"And he would stab a nun in the throat so that same nun wouldn't be assaulted!" Tomoe added.
"Alright! You have a point!" Kizuna yelled with frustration in her voice. "Was I really wrong to see that maybe Kyo was a bad guy? That Yamogi had some truth in her voice?" she asked.
Mito suddenly delivered a chop to Kizuna's head, "He literally controlled a monster capable of destroying countries, tried kidnapping Raphtalia and commands that asshole... what was his name?" she asked, referring to Kazuki.
"I forgot, I think it was Trash." Naofumi said.
"Yeah, he literally commanded Trash. The same guy who wanted to take a vassal weapon for himself." Mito added.
Kizuna really hated being lectured but everyone had a point. Sometimes the ends doesn't justify the means, perhaps it only made sense as Yamogi and Kizuna thought this was a part of some complicated plan. Only to realize that Kyo really is a bastard.
"This is my fault, Kyo was planning to use the waves. Not destroy them for good!" Yamogi said she broke down into tears. "The Spirit Tortoise Core that he used, this was the reason he wanted it." she said.
"Well now you have to help us clean up this mess! Tell us where Kyo is!" Arashi yelled as he rapidly shook Yamogi.
Yamogi wiped her tears away and nodded, "Very well, I'll lead the Shield Hero's party to him." she said before monsters spawned around them.
Soon enough, everyone was surrounded snake men, bird monsters and all the sorts monsters that shared the appearance of creatures from Egyptian Mythology. L'arc and his group already began to engage the monsters only to witness more appear in quick succession.
"There's too many of these things!" L'arc said.
"We're only going to be able to beat them if we can get to Kyo." Kizuna said from her observations.
Tania let out a breath of fire to scorch an incoming group of monsters, "You guys go ahead. Tomoe and I can support everyone here." she said.
"Yeah, besides I need to teach Komoe how fight!" Tomoe said as she decapitated a snake man.
Ethnobalt then came forward, "I will transport all of you to Kyo's location once Yamogi is ready." he said.
"Well?" Naofumi asked as he looked at Yamogi who nodded.
With the female dragons and Kizuna's group staying behind. Yamogi gave up Kyo's location, allowing Ethnobalt to transport everyone.
Kyo's Hideout
The group had various expectations of Kyo's secret location. Ranging from some fancy castle filled with perilous dangers to the laboratory of an insane man. While the latter was a more accurate theory, it was already a mess. Not in terms of poor organization but by the fact that it looks like someone was already here and attacked.
"I guess Kyo already made too many enemies." Arashi commented.
"Well they better have not killed him yet." Naofumi said bitterly.
"So no one is concerned by what caused this?" Mito asked, not noticing the black slime fragments creeping around the corners.
As the group made their way across a corridor filled with broken liquid tanks. They ran across the bodies of some of Kazuki's harem. With an extra one falling down from the ceiling and letting out a loud thud as they hit the ground. This caused some of the party members to scream in fright by how creepy the jumpscare appeared.
"Calm down, it's already dead." Naofumi said in an uncaring voice.
"Sure… that makes it less scary." Arashi said in denial.
"Hey Arashi." Mito called out. Arashi and some of the girls turned and saw Mito holding a skull in her hand, "Where's my money, loser?" she asked through the puppet like a ventriloquist.
"AHH!" Arashi screamed along with Rishia, Raphtalia, Filo and Sora while Luna just laughed.
Filo then ran behind Naofumi's leg, "Master, that's creepy!" she complained.
"We don't have time for jokes. So cut that crap out." Naofumi said.
"Just trying to lighten up the mood." Mito said before throwing the skull away. "But still, this place looks like something out of a horror movie." she said as she looked around.
"Hey Mito
From the dead bodies with unknown causes of death to the various destroyed experiments. It was concerning to think about what had caused this whole mess. That is unless Kyo was actually an idiot with power and someone else was motivating him. Resulting in Kyo's own actions causing the death and destruction of his own territory. Although, that would be an ironic but pointless set of events.
Whatever really caused the mess, answers were going to be needed. As the group needed to save this world from the many monsters attacking the world. Their first clue came in the form of another idiot that they hated.
"Is that Trash?" Mito asked.
Everyone looked around the corner and saw Kazuki approaching them. Unlike last time when he ambushed his harem and Kyo. Kazuki looked like a rotten corpse with no sign of basic human function. As the dark haired man no longer looked smug, but rather braindead as he dragged his foot across the ground.
"Are you here to gloat?" Naofumi asked as he raised his shield.
Kazuki let out a loud groan as if he were a zombie. That's when he was suddenly enveloped by the black slime and turned into a strange warrior type of creature. Where he was suddenly being supported by various other slime monsters who took on a similar shape.
"I guess Trash got himself killed." Arashi said.
"But that means Kyo might be dead too. These things belong to that guy, Dumas." Naofumi said.
"Then how are we going to stop the waves?" Rishia asked.
"Kyo probably has some tool or something to keep them active. We just got stop whatever gave him this power." Naofumi said before a slime creature attacked him with a spear. "Only if we can cut through these things!" he yelled as he parried the blow.
"This is my fault, I shouldn't have let my history with Kyo cloud my judgement. I'll hold off these creatures." Yomagi said as she drew her new sword.
"I'll help too!" Raphtalia said as she drew the vassal sword.
"Then the rest of us will look for the bastard or whatever he's using to control the waves." Naofumi said as everyone grouped up. "Airstrike Shield" he yelled as he conjured up an ethereal shield to clear up a path to run through.
The group ran past the incoming mobs of slime monsters before reaching one final room. There, they found Kyo who wasn't looking his best. Although Kyo didn't exactly look visually appealing with the look of insanity that he carried on his face. The vulgar personality he carries doesn't help much either.
Not that Naofumi or anyone else thought Kyo didn't deserve his current predicament. The situation being that Kyo is being overrun by slime monsters.
"Back away you monsters! You can't kill me now! Flame Formation: Magic Explosion!" Kyo screamed as he burned a slime monster that ran towards him. "Is that it? You're all scared of a little fire? Composition Four: Constriction!" He yelled as he trapped several slime monsters in place.
Kyo laughed as if he had just won, but this might as well been his insanity taking over. He then looked to the side expecting more monsters. Instead, he saw Naofumi's party waiting to bring him down.
"Oh, so you're here to Shield Loser? My lab might be gone, but don't think you're winning! You've just been lucky is all!" Kyo screamed.
"I'll win when you stop talking." Naofumi replied.
"My ears." Arashi whined as Kyo's screaming felt like he was being stabbed in the ear.
"Now tell me, where's the power source you used for the waves! The one you stole from Ost!" Naofumi demanded.
"I guess you weren't that stupid, shit head. It's right there!" Kyo said as he pointed to a tank filled with green energy. "I used up a lot of it before reaching this point, but I can just get more from your shitty world. That sounds right, now doesn't it?" he asked.
Naofumi started feeling pissed before his medallion started acting up. At the same time, the power dwelling within his curse shield was acting up. As if the darkness and evil within it was trying to overcome the medallion. Fighting the suppression that would potentially make the Shield Hero into an out of control monster. Yet, it was as if the medallion was trying to not only calm Naofumi, but allow him to keep his true personality active.
"I mean, it wouldn't be that hard. You're just some useless shit head! One who needs a fancy piece of jewelry to cheat! Does that make you feel good cheat- AHH!" Kyo screamed interrupted his rant.
While the slime monsters were still paralyzed by Kyo's spell. More monsters came out from various parts of the lab. With one biting down on his shoulder and restricting his movements. At that moment, the party realized that they were becoming surrounded as well.
"We're surrounded!" Rishia exclaimed.
"Red Crimson!" Sora and Luna yelled together as they released a wave of flames.
The incoming slime creatures screamed in pain as they were burned to dust. As the party used fire elemental skills to push back the incoming mobs. Kyo was already being ripped apart by the monsters as a large parasite worm bursts through the side of his chest.
"That annoying bastard is going to die." Arashi said as he cut through another slime monster.
"Then we just need to disable Ost's power." Naofumi said as he looked up at the green tank.
"Naofumi Iwatani." said a booming voice.
"Damn, not now." Naofumi whispered.
"Combine my power with your shield." said the voice, confusing Naofumi. "I know you are filled with sorrow, anger, and hatred. Your reasoning is justified, but because of your initial will. You have repressed it, making you worthy of my power." it said.
'Where is that voice coming from? What is it after?' Naofumi asked.
"Naofumi, now would be a good time for a good plan!" Arashi yelled as he decapitated a slime monster.
"Master, what are you waiting for?" Filo asked as no one could hear the voice within Naofumi.
"The amulet, the one granted to you by the Spirit of the North." the voice said.
"The jewelry that the penguin gave me?" Naofumi asked as he grasped it.
"What about the necklace?" Rishia asked.
"Place me on your shield as you would with your resources." the spirit of the amulet said.
"This better not be a trap!" Naofumi said seriously.
"Your pain should not be embraced, but it cannot be ignored. Trust in your gift and you will be open to all potential." the spirit said.
"Damn it." Naofumi said, forcing himself to trust the amulet.
"What are you standing around for?" Arashi asked.
"He's just realizing he's powerless and just shit!" Kyo yelled as he clung to life. If he was going to die, he'll die sounding petty, "And that's all he really is! Just some piece of crap nobody likes…" he said before feeling an intense amount of pressure.
As Naofumi placed the amulet on top of the shield like he did when he started collecting ingredients and making new shields. The Cardinal Shield started to shake as its statistics started to rapidly started to change. Only to completely freeze before rebooting with new information.
New Skill: Transformation - Grangorith
Immunity to Holy Magic

30% AP recovery
Notice: Can only be used once per day for up to 6 hours. All experience gaining is reduced by 25% for the duration of the skill.
"This better be worth it if I can't level up." Naofumi said before a golden flash came out of the shield.
Unlike when Naofumi used the curse series shield and surrounded himself in a deadly aura. His entire presence was surrounded in a bright flash and felt more pleasant. That is until his form completely changed to that of a winged reptilian with silver scales, long golden hair and feathers attached to the wings, making them look more heavenly.
"Master?" Filo asked with wide eyes.
"What the hell is this bullshit!" Ryo angrily screamed.
Before anyone could respond to Naofumi's transformation, he let out a powerful roar that shook the entire laboratory. Before suddenly drowning the entire place in golden flames that did not harm his party members. But did wipe away the slime monsters from existence along with Kyo who screamed as if he were being engulfed by an exploding sun.
"NO! It doesn't end this way! Even if I die! You're supposed to lose! You are supposed to have it worse!" Kyo angrily screamed before feeling an eternal agonizing suffering.
Outside
Ethnobalt was patiently waiting for the Shield Hero's party only to see the entire building collapse with Naofumi's dragon form climbing out of the wreckage. With everyone climbing onto Naofumi's back for safety while Raphtalia and Yamogi escaped through the front door. Where they witnessed the giant majestic beast that Naofumi became.
"What is that!?" Yamogi asked.
"WOOH! Dragon Hero!" Arashi yelled from the top of Naofumi's head.
"What the heck is that!?" Yamogi asked fearfully.
Naofumi shook his head, almost dropping Arashi as a result, as he tried to regain his bearings. When he was fully aware of his surroundings and gained a good feeling of his new skill. He moved around Ehtnabolt's boat without trying to damage it and give everyone the wrong idea. As Naofumi moved, Raphtalia looked up and noticed a crest under the throat the dragon and realized it was the Cardinal Shield in base form.
"Master Naofumi?" Raphtalia asked.
"Where?" Yamogi asked.
Arashi snickered, "This is going to be a long story. I wonder how Tania and Tomoe are going to react when they see Naofumi." he said.
Naofumi let out an annoyed groan as he heard that. Those dragons were prideful and he didn't want to deal with them challenging him to a fight for the sake of pride or something along those lines.
At least now, the waves vanished once Naofumi destroyed the lab along with the tank. In some sense, Naofumi felt that Ost was resting in peace.
Later, with Kizuna's party
Once Naofumi had gotten a good understanding of his skills as the Dragon, better known as Grangorith. He regrouped with the girls and Kizuna's party where they witnessed Naofumi's majestic appearance as he flew in the air and landed. Where he immediately reverted back to his human form in front of Kizuna's group, much to their shock. At the same time, Naofumi could see that the amulet still gave him some passive skills.

"They're going to call me out on this thing being overpowered." Naofumi said with a snicker.
"Master, you turned back!" Filo said excitedly.
"What exactly was that ability, kiddo? It didn't look like a trick for a Cardinal Weapon." L'arc said.
"Frankly, it's none of your business, Young Master." Naofumi replied.
The moniker annoyed L'arc to no end, "Stop calling me that, kiddo!" he yelled.
"So is it over? Are the waves gone for good?" Kizuna asked.
"They should be. The lab was already a mess and Naofumi destroyed everything inside before he became the Dragon Hero." Arashi explained.
Tomoe laughed as she slapped Naofumi's back, "So now this is a trio! Welcome to the clan!" she said. "Now you won't have to carry around this wimpy shield." she said while pointing at the Cardinal Weapon.
Naofumi sighed, "It only works once per day, for six hours. I'm not a real dragon." he said, disappointing Tomoe.
"And Master Naofumi is perfect the way he is!" Raphtalia said in his defense.
Kizuna decided to change the subject, "Anyways, since it's over does that mean we can finally rest and relax?" she asked.
"It should, we did instigate the conflict in the other world." Glass said with regret in her voice.
"Yeah, the Young Master owes us!" Arashi said as L'arc looked ready to punch the kid in the face.
However, before anyone could say anything, Naofumi noticed another time on his interface. The timer began to count down and the original portion of the party started to glow. Mito and Arashi began to panic as they weren't being affected and neither were the dragons or the fairies for that matter.
"Looks like we gotta go back to Melromarc." Naofumi said.
"Sorry guys, we have to leave." Raphtalia said.
"What? Can't you stay?" Kizuna asked, hoping to spend more time with them.
"Sorry, but we got lots of places to be. Although it's not like we signed up for all of them." Naofumi said.
"Hey! Why aren't you taking us too?" Arashi asked.
"Yeah, you're our only ride back!" Mito exclaimed.
Naofumi looked at his roster, "Hm, somehow you guys got removed." he said.
"Don't abandon us!" the twins yelled.
"Oh no, this is troublesome." Sora said with a sigh.
"I'm not lugging us back to other world." Tania said as she shook her head.
As Naofumi and his party left, Greyfarn arrived, "Good news, I've opened a portal back. Luckily Momon already managed to connect a portal to a crossroad between your world and the world where Melromarc is." he said.
"Oh good, we can go home then." Mito said with a sigh of relief.
"Yes, only after your mother arrives. Which is right now." Greyfarn said as the red haired woman said.
Mito was happy to see her mother before remembering an important detail. She looked to the side and saw Arashi rapidly shaking as Kushina walked to her brother. Kushina gave her son a bright smile that looked warm and welcoming, but Mito could sense the frustration in her mother.
"Arashi-kun, tell me why you decided to be a father." Kushina said.
"Naruto-nii is a dad too! Why are you mad at me?" Arashi asked as he kept shaking.
"Your brother got lost in some weird time obscurity that I can't fathom. You on the other hand are 13 years old and haven't been stuck in some time travel nonsense." Kushina said as her evil aura scared Arashi.
"What's with the scary lady?" L'arc asked.
"This is none of our business. It's best that you all leave." Ethnobalt said he ushered everyone away. "A woman's fury is more terrifying when it comes from an angry mother." she said.
"Tell me now, Arashi. Who is the woman you have mated with?" Kushina asked.
Arashi suddenly pulled Komoe from nowhere, "Meet Komoe-chan!" he said, hoping to appease her.
"Baba!" Komoe called out.
Kushina instantly adored her grandchild, "Aw, aren't you the most adorable little creature." she said as she picked up her technical granddaughter.
Arashi sighed in relief, only to pale when his mother spoke again.
"Komoe-chan, who is your mama?" Kushina answered before watching Komoe point at Tomoe.
Tomoe suddenly tried to run only for Tania to hold her in place. To make matters worse, Sora and Luna used their magic to help keep Tomoe in place.
"Why are you so scared? You're always open for a fight." Tania asied.
"It's whole other thing when it's an angry mother! I'm not that crazy!" Tomoe responded before Kushina appeared right in front of you.
"Hello there, you must be the mother of my grandchild." Kushina said.
"It's not what it looks like! Komoe is just a fragment of myself with your son's blood!" Tomoe said.
Luna made matters worse, "In a way, that's a good way to describe how you make a child in the traditional sense." she said.
"Luna, you're not helping!" Sora said as her sister laughed.
Kushina then gripped Tomoe by her shoulder, making the ancient drag wince, "Let's go, I want to know you better." she said as she dragged Tomoe.
"Save me!" Tomoe cried out.
Tania and the fairies saluted her, "You will be missed." she said.
"Traitors!" Tomoe yelled.
Another day later, Konoha
Minato sighed as he stared at Komoe, "So you're my granddaughter?" he asked. Komoe nodded, "Okay then, I feel old now. Kushina must have thrown a fit." she said.
"Baba is super strong!" Komoe commented.
Minato sweat dropped, "I know that much." he said before looking at his family photo. "Please don't tell me Princess Kazumi is going to demand a marriage between my son and Tomoe-san." he said.
Komoe suddenly walked behind the desk and crawled onto Minato's lap. Where she immediately looked around the table with curiosity filling her eyes. Minato chuckled as he couldn't help but find Komoe's curiosity to be be adorable. Even if she was the equivalent to a summoning animal, she was still part human and needed to be taught properly. At least Mito didn't have the same problem since she only created a few baby ducks.
Still, regardless of what the old generation believes on the semi-human and nonhuman individuals that exist. Minato wasn't sure about Komoe's citizenship since she's technically a hybrid of human and dragon. Hence, his concern about Arashi's relationship with his other teammate.
"And now, what should we do with you?" the Yondaime asked before Komoe grabbed a random stamp. Where she proceeded to stamp everything within arm's reach, "Komoe-chan, no! You can't legalize everything!" he said before Komoe stamped him on the face.
Minato quickly took away the stamp and replace it with a candy bar from his drawer. Satisfied with the snack, Komoe ignored Minato who locked away the stamp before getting a second stamp that said "Void" and proceeded to stamp over the stamp marks where Komoe made her marks. This unfortunately meant that Minato had to stamp his face as part of the complexity of bureaucracy in this village. With Kushina arriving at the second he stamped his face.
"I don't think your face counts as paperwork." Kushina said.
"Tell that to Komoe." Minato said while Komoe ignored everything around her.
Kushina giggled, "She just wants to be a part of the program." She said before noticing the candy. "Minato, did you feed Komoe-Chan candy before she had a proper lunch?" she asked.
"I needed a way to wrestle the stamp out of her hands!" Minato exclaimed.
"You can't feed her unhealthy food!" Kushina argued before watching Komoe finish. "And now she made a mess. Come here, Komoe-Chan." she said as she picked up the child.
Kushina left her husband's office, leaving the man feeling annoyed and tired by his wife's antics.
With Naruto
Now in Makai again, Naruto was going over his business involving internal matters. Only now, there was another pressing issue but it came from a great threat that wasn't a foreign army or upstarts from a noble class. It came from corporations, specifically the corporation run by Momon herself. Looking out of his office window, Naruto witnessed his adoptive grandmother's new product.
A strange device similar to a lacrima and other holographic magic tools. Specifically, this also worked to connect to a variety of other tools.
"Introducing the latest in brand name technology, The eyePhone." said the narrator on the advertisement.
"It's that dumb communication device, isn't it?" Naruto asked. "Also, did they have to make that thing loud enough for me to hear? We have a lot of workers in this building." he said.
The advertisement proceeded to explain the properties of the eyePhone being a miniature device to conveniently store various applications. The device itself was impressive and it allowed users to connect with each other along with other services. Now everyone was free to share their thoughts as if their daily opinions mattered. One of the many aspects of taking heroes from another world is taking these ideas and capitalizing on them.
Luckily, some foolish summoned heroes and other unlucky individuals are practically robbed of this technological information. Taking decades to be recreated with current technologies and some advanced magic. While the various realms won't have electric cars and traditional television, every species will figure something out.
"And with eyePhone: You can watch, listen, ignore your friends, stalk your ex, download mail and all of that while being hit by a train." the narrator said as the model took photographs with the device in their eye. "The eyePhone: From Momon." he said.
Civilizations from all around the world where Naofumi and Seiya came from varied. Some indigenous tribes were more primitive due to not accessing certain resources, making it difficult to combat hostile explorers and conquerors. The same can be said for Makai and it's allied nations, as they had already discovered capitalism and similar economic ideals. Now, Naruto witnessed the sheeple known as his citizens lining up as they caught interest in the device.
"My grandmother already has access to the world where the Shield Hero travelled to. She's no doubt conquering their markets and her sights will soon target Holfort." Naruto told himself as he could imagine the conflict.
Ironically, Naruto's battalion in Momon's army wasn't just participating in dangerous zones for Greyfarn to do research. Another part of it was dealing with the shady underworkings of corporations. Naruto looked to the side of the office where he held onto the results of his labor. The heads of some of Momon's competitors who were either too curious or deemed themselves untouchable.
Dario Agger
Naruto sighed, "I think you trying to buy people's livelihoods with coupons wasn't enough." he said before digging into his desk. "Feeding time." he said before stuffing stale curly fries into Dario's angry and shocked face.
Naruto then went back to finishing his civil duties as he was gone for way too long again. He likes exploring and seeing his long lost family, but Makai was already having an issue with the balance of power with his absence a few months ago. The least he can do, is keep everyone's welfare in check.
"Hopefully things are fine in the other kingdoms." Naruto said.
Hopefully not already conquered by Momon's economic campaign.
In Holfort
Right now, the kingdom was in a panic as Skee-Ball the Ghome came back. With Leon reluctantly having to be the one to deal with it. Unfortunately, the guy was chasing Skee-Ball with his shotgun and a fire axe on his back. Which really bothered a lot of the students and visiting family members.
"Leon, stop using that here!" Olivia yelled as Leon fired his gun again.
"Damn it, Livia I almost had it!" Leon yelled before reloading.
"Leon, it's not only a living creature, but you might hurt someone!" Olivia exclaimed.
"Then please wait somewhere safe while I kill it!" Leon screamed as he chased the gnome outside.
As if by some miracle or an act of a divine actions from a greater power. Leon did not destroy anything important or hit any of the random people in the crowd. Although that did not help him in catching Skee-Ball in any way. Instead, the angry gnome continued to run around, challenging Leon to get him.
"Hold still you poor excuse for a Christmas Elf!" Leon yelled as he shot at the gnome again.
The gnome avoided the attack before running towards Leon. Leon then raised up his weapon to block an incoming attack from the gnome. Causing Skee-Ball jump back as his attack failed. Suddenly, Skee-Ball took on a fighting pose and made some weird screaming noises before making a challenging gesture towards Leon.
"What are you? Some kind of Kung Fu master?" Leon asked.
"Muy Thai, Jiu Jutsu, Pankration and Kick Boxing." Skee-Ball answered.
"What about Krav Maga?" Leon asked, getting a head shake in response. "Why not?" he asked.
Leon regretted asking that question once he felt immense pain in his groin. With Leon standing over him as he collapsed.
"No groin, no Krav Maga." Skee-Ball said before kicking him again.
Leon groaned, "You know what else doesn't have a groin? My shotgun!" he yelled as he shot off Skee-Ball's hat. Prompting Skee-Ball to run away again, "Come back here you tiny bastard!" he yelled as he crawled towards the obnoxious gnome.
Angelica sighed as she watched her friends from the sidelines. At the same time, she saw Olivia running towards Leon with a bag of ice. Instead of a wife, Leon got himself a reliable friend to put ice on his manhood.
"This is getting out of hand." Angelica muttered to herself.
In Melromarc
On the surface where there was no maniac destroying the place. Mirellia immediately greeted the Shield Hero and granted him the honors he deserved from the beginning. As well as proper apologies on the behalf of the kingdom for Aultcray's reckless actions. When all that was over, Naofumi was awarded for his actions which earned the ire of Motoyasu and Itsuki, although those two were still in the dungeon. News spread fast to them and until a proper decision can be made, those two will be kept in lock up.
Ren wasn't around, but he was given his recognition for helping in combatting the Spirit Tortoise, which Naofumi had just finished off. Further being supported by the news of Kyo's defeat after explaining that he was the mastermind behind the incident.
"And that ends today's ceremony, however there is still one more subject left." Mirellia said, confusing Naofumi and his party.
A little while later
To Naofumi's surprise, he was greeted by Rein and Kaname who were waiting for them. On orders from the queen, they were going to escort the party to a new location. Which was supposed to be a gift from the queen herself.
Upon arrival, Naofumi discovered a new settlement where Melty was waiting to greet him. Of course, Filo wanted to greet her friend first.
"Mel!" Filo called out.
"Hi Filo, hi everyone!" Melty greeted before pulling out a scroll. "On the behalf of the Kingdom of Melromarc, Naofumi Iwatani will be granted rights and function as the administer to the given portion of land." she said.
This surprised Naofumi, "Land owner? What is this place exactly?" he asked.
"I'm here to give you the tour. Rein and the rest of your extra party members were more than happy to help set up buildings." Melty explained as Rein smiled in the background.
As Melty explained the details about the land, Raphtalia looked around curiously. This caught Naofumi's attention as he wondered what was concerning his "daughter".
"Is something wrong?" Naofumi asked.
"This place, it looks familiar. Like my old home before I was forced into slavery." Raphtalia said.
"Well this land was a demi-human reservation, right before my father unlawfully had it subjugated." Melty said, ending her sentence with disappointment.
Even when the evidence was there and Aultcray admitted it, Melty didn't want to see her father as a criminal. She understood that kings made difficult decisions and can't always worry about their reputation. However, Aultcray's actions were beyond mere choices but actual crimes which hurt Melty deeply. Now here they were, recreating a new settlement where all of those poor demi-humans were either killed or sold into slavery right after the first waves came.
"Lets just move on with the tour." Melty said, not wanting to think about her familial issues.
Little did Raphtalia know, there was a surprise waiting for her. Something that would make her lose all her sorrow and be filled in with joy. To Raptalia's surprise, a pair of young demi-humans had recognized her.
"Raphtalia?"
"Is that really her?"
Raphtalia's ears perked as she registered someone calling out to her. She turned around, immediately recognizing a pair of children whom she thought were dead.
"Keal? Rifana? Is that really you?" Raphtalia asked.
Naofumi smiled as he watched the sudden surprise. He felt like Raphtalia deserved something like this with her recent hardships. So this miracle of a reunion was the best gift that Raphtalia deserved. At the same time, Naofumi would feel happy to hear about the master who enslaved Raphtalia and her childhood friends.
The slave master was very loyal to a certain piece of trash and got a punishment he deserved. It was something the Shield Hero would hear about later.
A few days later, in Konoha
Arashi was not happy and neither was Tomoe for that matter. As a decree by Princess Kazumi with backing from Emperors Uzumaki, Lucifer and the Hokage. Arashi is now the father of Komoe Namikaze and official mate of Tomoe. The only upsides about this is Hinata didn't have a heart attack when she heard this news and there was no marriage ceremony needed.
Also, this wasn't public information yet so only very few people know. Things will get hectic when Arashi's fatherhood is revealed.
"Demi-human customs are so weird." Arashi said.
"Just wait until you meet the Trøgs." Tomoe said. "They are super obsessed with the moon." she added.
"So are we married or do I just owe you child support?" Arashi asked.
"Legally speaking, both I think." Tomoe answered.
"Mama, papa, I wanna eat ramen." Komoe said.
"And now I know how my dad feels." Arashi said as he knew ramen was expensive and he didn't have any coupons on him.
When they arrived at Ichiraku, Ayame was happy to serve Komoe. Ayame knew Kushina ever since she was a toddler and was practically a surrogate sister for the siblings. So when Komoe let the identity of her father slip out.
"Papa, pick me up." Komoe said.
"Oh my, is she attached to Arashi-kun?" Ayame asked, thinking this was a joke.
"Well, Arashi here is Komoe-chan's biological father. So that's how she's supposed to address him." Tomoe said with a shrug.
Ayame's eye twitched, "I'm sorry what?" she asked.
"Ayame, it's not what it looks like!" Arashi said.
"Why is this woman saying you fathered her child?" Ayame asked.
"Well uh… I did make her with my DNA. She kind of sort of spawned, you know with magic." Arashi said, making Ayame narrow her eyes dangerously.
"This is why Mito-chan looked annoyed earlier, isn't it?" Ayame asked, making Arashi nervous.
Arashi thought of something fast, "Ayame, you can get mad at me or you can feed this cute little girl. You can't have both." he said as he lifts up Komoe.
Ayame relented as her instincts made her fall for Komoe's adorable appearance. For a brief time, Ayame's sisterly instincts had to go on mute as she made a nice bowl of ramen for Komoe who started eating it. Perhaps the shikigami is a lot more sentient than she really is. However, that didn't stop Ayame from being annoyed that her younger brother figure has a child.
It would be a while for Ayame to notice that Arashi wouldn't have a child unless he impregnated a girl. For now, she had to tamper with Arashi's food just a bit.
"AH! Oyster sauce!?" Arashi asked as he tried eating his ramen.
"What's wrong? You don't want it?" Ayame asked, mocking Arashi.
Arashi gulped, "Ramen should never be allowed to be wasted!" he exclaimed as he devoured the entire bowl.
"Tou-san, more orders for Arashi-kun. With an extra side of oyster sauce." Ayame said as she turned to the back.
"Finally, someone wants to try the oyster sauce!" Teuchi said excitedly.
Tomoe snickered at Arashi's punishment, not knowing Ayame was doing the same to her. However, the downside to Ayame's prank is Tomoe is like lots of other dragons. They don't recognize changes of flavor in some foods. So long as it's not poisoned and doesn't taste like wood, Tomoe won't notice.
"I didn't know ramen was this good." Tomoe said, leaving Ayame disappointed in her failed prank attempt.
"It was much better before." Arashi said as he cried anime tears. 'I bet nii-san doesn't have go through this.' he thought.
With Naruto
Naruto was enjoying dinner with his wife and children. The family enjoyed their peaceful dinner while ignoring the troubles of the various realms for now.
"The twins have grown big, haven't they?" Naruto asked.
"Indeed they have." Yasaka said as she smiled at her babies on the high chairs. "About a year old and they can sit and speak already." she said.
Naruto then looked at his oldest daughter, "And how are your studies Kunou?" he asked.
"I'm good, otou-sama." Kunou answered.
"Are you sure dear? You have fallen behind a bit." Yasaka said with some concern.
"Tohru offered to tutor me, but I declined." Kunou answered.
"Then your grades should be good." Yasaka said, sounding relieved.
Tohru was cleaning up in the background, when she felt offended. She loved her masters, but was not as smart as she believed herself to be. Tohru can be a bit of a dunce when it comes to educational studies, but that doesn't make her any less competent.
Still, at least this part of the family was having a better time than Arashi. Unknown to anyone, Naruto actually felt sympathy for Arashi since he can see what caused the mistake. Although he can't help but wonder what makes Komoe different compared to the other shikigami that Kizuna helped him create.
TO BE CONTINUED…
