"My scan is showing it's an old design for a cruiser, a small, light weight attack vessel. It's made from local materials. Which means it's from before our people abandoned this galaxy, not from when they returned. She's over a million years old." Alexander said.

"She's also damaged." Corda said, pointing at an area of hull that had breached. "Avalon didn't have many hostile races, but it did have some. Can we repair her?"

"Possibly, but it's going to take time and money. I told Giles I could make a living patenting Alteran tech. What's in the computer banks will help with that. We can get the materials we need and she can fly again. She belongs in the sky, not hidden under ground."

"And then you will be a Lion that roars across the sky again, like that vampire seer said."

"I do miss the stars. I used to watch them from my bedroom window at night, both myself and Xander. Maybe he would have been an astronaut or something if he'd never learned of vampires."

"Let's see what else there is. If we're going to take her back to the stars, we need to know what we're working with, in order to do it. But I miss the stars too."

They began to explore, moving thru the hanger bay cautiously, this near to Sunnydale and something could have found it's way in here. Alexander kept his scanner on a continuous scan, just in case. Fortunately they found nothing alive. The hanger bay itself was undamaged.

"Surprising, really." Alexander noted when they discovered that. "Given how prone to earthquakes this area is. But our people built to last. Atlantis was over thirty million years old." (Reference Stargate Wiki).

They entered thru the hull breach in the ship and made their way to the command deck. For the first time in a long time. Captain Alexander of Atlantis sat in a control chair. It lit up and swung into a recline position. He accessed the computer.

"Potentia is nearly full. Good, she has power. Drone bays are 3/4 full. She's also armed with pulse cannons, two of them, one forward, one rear. Crew complement was twelve. The damage to the hull, is the only damage she's registering. A force field kept the atmosphere intact until they were able to return to Earth. Repairs were never begun. They must have abandoned the galaxy before they could. It's all physical damage to the hull. The computer is just fine and so are all of the other systems. So once the hull is repaired, she'll fly again."

"Good, but we should go over every system ourselves. The computer may have sustained damage it's unaware of."

"Agreed." Alexander said, as he disengaged his mind from the ship. "And we need to rename her. Our people really didn't do a good job of naming ships, mine being the exception."

"What's the ship's name?"

"Aadamus, apparently a general."

Oh, like Hyppaferrelkus."

"Yes."

"Yeah, that's bad. How about Altimah? Helpful, we are trying to help after all."

"I like it. The Altimah. See, that's why you're the brains of this team."

"Don't you forget it either."

They spent the next several days going over every system and found no damage, beyond the hull breach.

"We'll need to return to town and get supplies. The damaged area needs to be cut away before we can even begin repairs." Alexander said.

"And we've identified several things we can begin building and patenting. Our long range scanner being one of them. With better materials, it'll work better and if we transfer the program from the small scanner, far more useful."

"Definitely and the hand weapons we found can also be patented and be useful in dealing with demons. But I think it's time to head back to Sunnydale and get those supplies. We have two and half months until school starts up again, after all."

"True, alright, let's head back." Corda agreed and the two of them ringed back to the surface and drove back to town. They stopped at Giles' condo first to fill him in on what they'd found. Jenny was there and Buffy was just about to leave for her patrol.

"Oh, good, you're all here, we have some news."

"Did you find out how to close the Hellmouth?" Buffy asked.

"No, unfortunately we didn't make it far from Sunnydale. Our long range scanner registered a large open area about half a mile down several miles outside of town and evidence of Alteran tech. We found a hanger with a ship they left behind when they abandoned Terra a million years ago."

"That's cool, but what good does it do us? Something that old isn't going to work anyway." Buffy said.

"You underestimate Alteran tech. We built things to last. Atlantis was more then 30 million years old and still functioning just fine." Alexander told them.

"30 million?!" Giles squeaked.

"Yes and we occupied this galaxy for 50 million years and it was our second galaxy. And my hand held scanner is from before the abandonment and it's functioning just fine."

"Wow." Buffy said, it was all she could say, but it did sum it up.

"The ship itself is a small attack cruiser with a twelve person crew compliment. It suffered a hull breach, but we can repair it and we can use the pulse pistols we found on board to fight demons, as well as patent much of what we found. We'll need to use local resources and build it so its believable tech for Earth, but it's definitely doable." Alexander told them. "So good discovery?"

"Good discovery!" They all agreed.
