DISCLAIMER
Harry Potter and his world belongs to J.K Rowling, I'm only trying to kill my boredom by playing with it. I was inspired by „Summer's Breeze" written by st122
"FUCK!" Shouted Harry as he slammed the brakes as strong as he possibly could. The person that practically ran into the mask of his car was pushed a good two meters forward. To not lose time, Harry automatically got out of the car and move to them.
This person was a very young woman, that probably haven't even been in her twenties yet. She was small with long coppery red hair.
"Hey! Are you all right?"
"What's wrong with you, you stupid twat! You can't run into people whenever you want!" The girl fumed.
"What's wrong with me?!" Asked Harry annoyed, "You basically run into the mask of my car, you masochist!"
"Don't shout at me!"
"You started it!"
"Because you hit me!"
"Because you run into my car!"
That conversation was clearly going nowhere. Even though Harry haven't had accidental magic in a long time, he felt that a few more seconds arguing with this woman would lead to disaster.
Harry massaged his forehead tiredly, "Look, let's not argue. Just tell me if you are all right. Maybe you want to go to the hospital?"
The girl clearly wasn't okay with the civilized conversation, "I would be all right if some shithead hadn't hit me!"
Now, Harry lost his last amount of patience, "Stop insulting me you dumb cunt! Do not blame me for your own stupidity! You are lucky that I was driving slow enough to not hurt you badly, and I won't have you - some idiotic wimp shouting at me!"
The woman's expression suddenly changed as she gasped offended, and then her face turned into a grimace of anger, her cheeks flushed with outrage, which despite the situation they were in, was surprisingly very attractive. Before Harry even noticed, she raised her hand folded into a fist, and hit him hard in the face. Even though the girl was small, she certainly had enough amount of strength to knock him off his feet. The redhead lifted her chin, huffed irritatedly, and strode down the street.
Harry could only watch her retreating back in complete shock. Here he was, the defeater of Voldemort, apprentice of Dumbledore, trained by best of the best, the hero of the wizarding world, a myth, a legend lying in a puddle with a bleeding nose, completely humiliated by a petite muggle woman who hit him harder than the Death Eaters ever tried to. He couldn't help but laugh maniacally at the irony of this situation. Feeling his nose, he looked at the blood on his fingers thinking about what would Voldemort tell about this if he was still alive; his vanquisher defeated by a small muggle girl!
Shaking his head, he wiped off the blood on his nose with a handkerchief and got into his car. He had to get to his work after all.
HARRY
When he arrived at the back of the restaurant where he worked, he met his good friend Elliot smoking a cigarette and waiting for him. Elliot was a tall, black man with broad shoulders and a long face. They met two years ago when Harry started working here and developed a good friendship.
"Hey, Harry! Good to see you!"
"Hi, mate. You won't believe what happened."
"Does it have anything to do with you being late?
"You don't even have an idea."
Elliot sighed, "Think twice before you enter our amazing workplace. The boss will give you a hard time for being late," He said with a grimace.
"Great!" Harry replied sarcastically with a fake cheerful smile, "That's exactly what I need right now!"
Not wanting to stretch his luck, he started to walk inside.
"I hope that you will tell me everything that happened to you this morning in details!" Elliot shouted after his friend.
"Of course!" He shouted back as he entered the building.
Before walking into his boss' office he stopped and took a few deep breaths to calm down. He prayed that his accidental magic wouldn't kill the man. Entering the room he was met with his boss' angry grimace. He was a short, fat, and bald man in his middle age.
"You are late," His boss deadpanned.
"I had an-" Harry tried to defend himself but was quickly cut off by the man.
"I don't care what you had, do not give me any excuses. Today's daily wage will be taken away from you. If you will be late one more time you will be fired."
"…"
"That's all!" The man barked.
"I understand," Harry said through clenched teeth, "Have a good day, sir."
"So tell me about it!" Elliot asked when Harry entered the kitchen to start his work.
"I don't know if there is much to talk about."
"Of course there is! Harry Potter is never late to work! Something serious had to happen!"
Harry sighed tiredly, " I hit a woman at a pedestrian crossing. What? Stop looking at me like that! It was totally her fault!"
"Was it really?"
"Okay, maybe it wasn't totally her fault, but mostly!"
"What happened next?"
"We argued a little bit, there were some nasty words, and err, she hit me." The last bit was muttered incomprehensibly.
His friend smirked, "I haven't heard you."
Harry rolled his eyes, "I said 'she hit me' you arsehole!"
Elliot couldn't help but laugh. "Please, tell me she was at least as big as you!"
"Err, not exactly. She was rather petite. But I can assure you that you wouldn't be the one laughing if she hit you!"
"Was she all right at least?" he said chopping an onion.
"Err, yes, I think so. Maybe she would stop running into cars if she got some bruise."
"You mate, are clearly attracting trouble!"
"Tell me 'bout it," Harry said with a frown as he started preparing an order.
GINNY
Ginny Weasley was fuming. The git dirtied her clothes and bruised her arms, legs, and bum. Before entering her workplace, she quickly hid in a nearby alley and cast a cleaning spell. Sadly she didn't know any healing spells for her hurting body parts. In moments like that, she regrated not listening to her mother when she was trying to teach her. Sighing she continued her walk.
The kindergarten she was working at was located on the outskirts of the town she lived. It was really a great place for children. It was placed next to a nice park with a pond, woods, and a playground. There where also a football pitch on which many nearby kids played.
She entered the building and made her way to the staff room. Thankfully, she hadn't been late.
"Finally here, Ginny! I was worried that you'll be late!" Her friend Elise greeted as Ginny came in.
"Yeah, thank this git who almost ran over me for that!"
Elise gasped horrified, "What happened?" She asked worriedly.
"Well, yesterday night a spent a little too much time reading and burned the midnight oil a little. This morning I woke up late, and practically run out of my flat as fast as I could, and as I was running through a pedestrian crossing when some arsehole hit me!"
"But are you all right?"
"Mostly yes. Only my bum hurts. But I hurt him more!"
"Oh Ginny, what did you do?"
"I punched his stupid face and broke his nose!' The redhead said happily and looked very proud at what he did.
"Ginny! You can't hit whomever you want!"
"Well, he deserved it!"
Elise shook her head, "You should look at it objectively. You said you ran through the pedestrian crossing. Was there a green light for you?"
"Err, no." She found the hem of her shirt very interesting.
"So it wasn't exactly this bloke's fault, was it?" Ginny only hummed at her friend's words.
"Oh dear, I see that I'll have a lot of work teaching you how to live in society. I swear, you're so wild, it's like you broke out of the jungle!"
Ginny smirked, "You wouldn't be saying that if you have met my family."
Elise could only look at her friend expressionless, "You are a lost case, you know that right?"
"Yep!" The redhead replied grinning.
"Ginny, you really should go out more often. Wait, what am I saying? You should try going out at all! A girl like you shouldn't have any problems with finding a nice, hot bloke to get some steam off."
Ginny rolled her eyes, "What are you, my mother? I swear she was trying to find me a suitable gentleman a few weeks ago."
"I'm sure that she, just like me is worried about your social life. All you do is sit at your flat instead of enjoying your youth! You can't read those books of yours all of your life!"
"Of course, I can! I don't need to have a bloke to enjoy my life, thank you very much!"
"With this mindset, you will become an old virgin with a bunch of cats."
"And it's barely a start of the benefits."
"You really are impossible."
"You still haven't met my brothers, especially Ronald."
Looking at her watch, Elise said to Ginny, "It's about a minute to start, it would be better to get going."
"Sure, see you at a break!"
Later that night Ginny sat on a window sill wrapped in a very warm and cosy woollen blanket her mother gave to her. Armed with hot tea and delicious biscuits her mother made especially for her, she started reading a new book she borrowed from a library. She couldn't help but think over the day's events and what her friend told her. Was she really that wild? Someone who couldn't live in a society? She was sure about one thing; she wouldn't sleep with some random bloke to just let off some steam. It wasn't worth breaking her morals. She wasn't the kind of a girl who would jump into a bed with someone who would use her just for her body. Hell, she haven't even kissed before or had a boyfriend for that matter, and her friend was talking about shagging someone! No, that wouldn't do. Besides, what are the disadvantages of spending the rest of her life as a virgin with a bunch of cats?
Sitting there, sipping the pure perfectness of her tea and tasting the blissful sweetness of the biscuits, she made a decision about changing something in her life. She could let off some steam by writing! She already loves to read, writing shouldn't be much difficult, right? Yes, that was a great idea.
HARRY
The next morning Harry still hasn't cooled down from the events of the previous day. Were these anger issues caused by war trauma, he didn't know. He suddenly felt a great urge to see Teddy. His little godson was always able to calm him down instantly with only a look. He would do almost everything to see him right now, but unfortunately, it wasn't exactly safe considering Andy and Tonks still haven't forgiven him for leaving. He loved them dearly, even considered them as his aunt and sister in all but blood, but they could be as stubborn as mules.
He met with Elliot at a spot near their favourite pub.
"Thanks for a lift mate. You're a lifesaver!" His friend said as he got in Harry's car
"Don't mention it."
Elliot could see that Harry was rather flustered probably still by yesterday's events. "You remember what were we talking about yesterday morning? You know, this girl you hit?"
"Yeah, what about it?"
"What was her hair colour?"
"Red, I think. How that matters anyway?"
"Well, you know my wife works in a kindergarten? So, I was talking to her yesterday and it appears that her friend who works in the same place was hit by a car yesterday. And she has red hair."
"Really? And Elise told you just like that her friend was the one who caused that crash, knowing perfectly that you'll tell me this, and I will most probably do something stupid?"
Elliot grinned "Yep!"
"Don't you think it is somewhat somewhat suspicious?"
"Should I?"
Harry only shook his head.
During the day Harry could only think about what his friend said to him. He never was very vengeful before, but it all changed after the war. Blame Moody for that, Harry thought bitterly at the memory of one of his tutors. Elise was right that Harry would do something stupid under the influence of emotions. This, the urge for revenge, and anger issues were probably the last bits of his insanity which led him to withdraw from magic.
As Elise predicted, he was going to do something stupid. Harry wasn't actually sure what he will tell the red-haired tart, but for now, it didn't matter. He knew he wasn't thinking clearly right now but wanted to shout at her for humiliating him just for good measure.
When he finished his shift, he quickly said goodbye to Elliot and the rest of his acquaintances, jumped into the car, and rushed to meet his opponent. She was quite a kindergarten teacher with that language of hers!
Stopping outside of the kindergarten, he noticed that it was time for parents to pick up their children, so she must finished for today. He jumped out of his car and practically ran all the way to the entrance and was looking for long red hair.
After spending some time searching, he was very thankful for his training, as he without any problems felt a presence behind him. As he turned to face it, he quickly made a rapid, fluid dodge backside just in time to avoid being slapped.
"What are you doing here?!" The redhead hissed with anger, her face showing how uncomfortable she felt with him knowing where she worked. "Do you want to get punched again, you pillock!"
"I actually came here to banter, but judging by your behaviour I doubt you want to talk."
"Talk about what? How much of an arsehole you are?" She said as she folded her arms and looked at him with narrowed eyes. As he was looking at her now, he couldn't help but admit that she was quite pretty. Her face was flushed with anger, but it only attracted Harry even more. All of a sudden most of his anger disappeared and was replaced with a strange feeling in his stomach. It was as if a flock of butterflies were flying all over his insides. A strange feeling, really. Thankfully Sirius wasn't here, because he most surely would start bantering about "Potters and their redheads." Quite annoying that man was.
Harry sighed, "Look, let's stop arguing about that. It was clearly the fault of both of us. Yours because you were running through the pedestrian crossing, and mine because I should pay more attention to the road. It's as simple as that, and the two of us can stop being jerks about it."
Ginny opened her mouth wanting to say something, probably rant, but thought better of that and swiftly shut her mouth. She scowled at him thinking about what he said. Should she just leave this behind them? If she was being honest with herself, the guy was making sense. Nodding her head she said, "Okay."
"Sooo, maybe you want to go out to this nice restaurant sometime?" He asked scratching his head nervously, "As a celebration of our reconciliation of course!"
"NO! I most certainly won't go out anywhere, and most certainly with some random bloke who could kidnap and rape me as far I know!" Ginny said as she started to walk away.
"Great, so I will see you the day after tomorrow evening!"
"No, you won't." She shot him a victorious grin, "You don't even have my address!"
"That's not a problem at all! See ya later!" He shouted after her as she left.
A little bit later he was brought back from his thoughts by a tapping on his shoulder. When he turned to the source, he was met with a sight of Elise.
"You planned that." Harry deadpanned.
"Yes."
"Why?"
She smiled kindly at him, "Because I know you Harry, and I know that even if you are a little hasty, you are a good man who won't do anything bad. You are simply not as mysterious as you like to think."
"But how did you know that I would ask her out?"
"After two years of our friendship, it's not hard to guess what kind of woman you need. She is feisty, that one. And you are a feisty man. You two fit together."
"Thanks. Do you happen to know where she lives?"
She gave him an already written scrap of paper.
"Thanks! You're great!"
