Colonel O'Neill, Major Carter and the Tok'ra, Jacob Carter, along with Major Paul Davis and Dr. Friesen moved thru to Gou'ald mothership that had taken up orbit around Earth. They made their way to the command deck. They could hear the computer making gargling noises.
"What's that?" Major Davis asked.
"I can't make it out." Jacob answered.
Onboard the Tel'tak, where Teal'C and Jonas were, Teal'C reported that the crew appeared to have abandoned ship.
"Well, this is strange. It appears the crew initiated the self destruct before abandoning the ship, but the ship appears operational." Jacob commented.
"It looks like the sequence is stuck." Major Carter reported, after studying the screens.
"It just doesn't make any sense." Jacob said. "The only way to stop the countdown is with a command override, but that would erase the sequence, not halt it."
"So is the ship going to explode or not?" Dr. Friesen asked.
"Well, until we know why the sequence has been halted, we can't know for sure." Jacob said. "We need to go to the computer core and do a diagnostic."
"Carter, you and Davis see if you can disable the self district altogether." Colonel O'Neill ordered.
"Yes, sir." They both said and went to do so.
"Jack, are you seriously considering salvaging this ship?" Jacob asked.
Sitting in the command chair. "Why, yes I am." Jack replied.
"This ship belonged to Anubis."
Imitating Montgomery Burns from the Simpsons. "Eeexcellent!"
"What if it's some sort of Trojan Horse?"
"Well, then apparently they did it wrong."
"Look, Jack, none of this makes any sense. So before you go slapping a U. S. Air Force sticker on the side of it - ."
"Will you stop? I know we need to check everything out before we do anything with it."
Ignoring him and continuing as if he hadn't spoken. "We need to find out what the Hell it's doing in Earth's orbit."
"But our standing orders are to recover any technology that can help defend Earth from the Gou'ald. I'd say this ship qualifies, wouldn't you?"
"Okay, it's just sometimes I worry you're going to get my favorite planet blown up."
"Yes, which planet is that?"
Ignoring him again, Jacob said. "You know if the crew failed with the self destruct, then the next logical thing for them to do would be to sabotage the hyperdrive."
"Friesen, let's go." Colonel O'Neill said to the little scientist who had been silently watching the whole exchange.
"I'll do a system check from here." Jacob said.
The computer sounds like it's gargling again.
"Find out what that sound is, it's starting to annoy me." Colonel O'Neill said, as he and the little scientist left the command deck. Maybe he was referring to Jacob's condescending tone of voice.
Colonel O'Neill and Dr. Friesen listened over the radio as Major Carter and Jacob discussed the possibility of a saboteur on board. Then Major Carter realized fused circuits were keeping them out of one room.
"Colonel?" Major Carter said over the radio.
"Wait here." Colonel O'Neill said to Dr. Friesen. "I have to go blow something up."
"Colonel? I just found something unusual." Dr. Friesen said over his radio, a little while later.
"Everything we're finding is unusual, Friesen. Can you be a little more specific?" Colonel O'Neill asked.
"Three Jaffa, tied up and unconscious."
"Okay, that definitely qualifies. Maybe they were the saboteurs." Major Davis said.
"No, if they were, they would have been killed." Jacob called over the radio.
"Unless, whoever captured them was Tok'ra." Major Carter speculated.
"We have no operatives in Anubis' ranks at all." The dual tones of Selmak could be heard. "Nor have any of our operatives gone missing."
"Stay where you are, Friesen. We'll be right there." Colonel O'Neill ordered. "I'm wondering if our unknown benefactor has something to do with this. Trying to help, but without letting us know they're helping."
"It does seem to fit what happened the last couple of times they helped us." Major Carter agreed
"Makes me even more curious to find out who these people are." Major Davis said, as they made their way to Dr. Friesen's location. "They apparently took care not to kill the Jaffa outright. That could imply all kinds of things. Maybe they don't know for sure the Jaffa and Gou'ald are an enemy or they're giving us a chance to interrogate them."
"Or something else, until they're willing to reveal themselves, we just don't know." Major Carter said, as they arrived at Dr. Friesen's location.
"Davis, you grab one. Carter, you grab one and I'll grab one. Hopefully, they stay knocked out until we can get them back to a holding cell."
Once they arrived back at the ring transporters, Colonel O'Neill notified Teal'C and Jonas and instructed Major Davis to accompany the prisoners and help guard them.
"Carter, you and Friesen and I will head back to the command deck." Colonel O'Neill decided. They nodded and followed him.
"I've confirmed that this was Anubis' ship." Jacob told them, when they arrived at the command deck.
"I've been thinking about this." Major Carter said. "Thor's mind was linked to this ship. Maybe he still is. His consciousness, I mean. His body is in a coma. If Thor's still apart of this ship, then maybe we can download him onto a crystal and the Asgard can reintegrate him."
"Wouldn't that start the self destruct up again?" Major Davis. "If Thor's the one responsible for all this, then it also follows that he's keeping the self destruct from going off."
"We can erase the self destruct routine all together." Jacob suggested. "It may be the only way to stop it anyway."
"Then we download Thor and return him to the Asgard." Colonel O'Neill said.
"And then we can move the ship behind the moon, so no one else sees it." Major Carter added.
"We've got a plan. Let's make it happen." Colonel O'Neill ordered and they scattered to do so.
