"I've been studying our sensor readings from the ship that appeared in Earth's orbit recently." Johnathan told the group. "I've made a few interesting discoveries. One, the communication was with Cheyenne Mountain Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado, which is a hollowed out and hardened military base, built into a mountain. And two, the ship has a large opening at the base that narrows as it goes up. The shape is what is interesting. It's a pyramid."

"But so is the ship. At least in shape, odd as that is. Maneuvering that thing, not to mention, accelerating it, must take alot of power. It's a very impractical design." Alexander pointed out.

"The dimensions of it fit the Pyramid of Giza. The other pyramids around it were built later, in imitation. Anyone ever heard of Ancient Astronaut Theory? The belief that aliens have visited us in the past? Or the one that says the pyramids were built as landing pads for aliens?"

"The Watchers Chronicles from those times say they were built at the behest of demons that enslaved the population." Giles said.

"We've seen evidence of aliens being mislabeled as demons. Gunn and Faith's half Brachen friend for instance." Alexander pointed out. "Chances are, there are others. I haven't scanned any of the non violent demons living in Sunnydale, not even the bodies we brought out of that complex. I wonder, if I do, will I find a demonic aspect to them?"

"Dr. Jackson was ridiculed for presenting his theory that the pyramids were older then accepted belief. With rumors that he was espousing the belief that they were landing pads of aliens ships, although he never said that." Giles said.

"And now he works for the Air Force. Possibly for the people using the astria porta to explore the galaxy." Corda said.

"And he has myself and Alexander consulting and doing translations. To keep an eye on us? Do they suspect something?" Giles questioned.

"Or his reasons could have to do with the translations the two of you were discussing." Alexander said. "The ones we've published as part of your consulting work for the British Museum. Something in one of those translations may have triggered his interest. I know some of them triggered mine. The ones that hinted at Alteran influence."

"The ones that enslaved the population around the time the Pyramid of Giza was built, they may be the same aliens that, that ship belongs to." Alexander said. "Humans go exploring and encounter these aliens. Aliens that once ruled Earth. They leave for some reason, but now remember Earth and don't like the fact that Earth may challenge them for power."

"They may not have forgotten about us." Jenny said. "Entire groups of people have gone missing over the centuries. Roanoke, the Anasazi. Sure, there are theories to explain their disappearance, but no facts."

"And it would explain those readings I got from those people aboard that ship. They were mostly human, except for that weird pouch and whatever lifeform is in that pouch." Johnathan added.

"Maybe something the humans transported off world devised to help them survive a certain environment or the aliens modified them on purpose to make them carry that lifeform." Corda said.

"We need to study the Watchers Chronicles and those translations we did, Giles. See if we can pin point any information that fits the information we currently have." Alexander decided.

"I agree. If they are still using the same design of ship they were using then and they were modifying humans before they even took them off world, we should be able to find something out about them. It would give us a better idea of what we're dealing with."

"I've found some references." Giles said, a few days later. "To j'fah or gheffar, depending on the sources, humans altered by gods that came down to Earth to live among us. Gah-uhl. They took the names of established gods and used their magic to intimidate the population."

"Clark's Third Law, any significantly advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." Johnathan said.

"They fooled the people into thinking they were gods. They may well still be doing that." Giles said.

"And modern Earth won't bow down to them." Alexander said. "And now they're enemies. Sooner or later, they're going to stop with the small stuff. Sooner or later, Earth's going to go from just being an annoyance, to being a threat. When that happens, they'll come in force. How long do we have, I wonder?"

"Can we accelerate our plans? Find more ways to help?" Corda asked.

"Well, the military is interested in our patents, that means we're going to be working with them. We direct more of our patents in their direction. Studying that ship up there is going to help them build their own. We patent things that help with that. Carefully, we have to move carefully. Too quickly and it could all come tumbling down on us and them. But we can help and we will." Alexander vowed.
