Meanwhile, Freddie spent the day looking for a job, but due to the fact that he wasn't quite old enough, he'd been turned down a lot. He was feeling a little discouraged. He passed by the Big Squeeze and saw six teenagers hanging out there. Two of them were Wyatt and Jonesy, whom he recognized from earlier that day, though they didn't have on their work uniforms. Wyatt had on a maroon sweater and dark brown khakki pants, and Jonesy had on a dark purple t-shirt with vague white writing on it and bright blue bootcut jeans. But it seemed weird, as Freddie was pretty sure Burger McFlipster's and Wendy's were rivals. But then again, he saw Jonesy get fired earlier, plus, just because the restaurant chains were rivals didn't mean the employees had to be, too. But anyway, three of the other teenagers were girls, and one was a boy, so there were three boys and three girls each. The first girl was pretty with long red hair and lavender eyes. She had on a gray hoodie and a white skirt. She had sort of a sporty look. The second one was also pretty, but was Asian and had more of a punk rock look, with short hair dyed purple and brown eyes. She had a lot of piercings, had a tanktop with a green circle on it and baggy purple pants. And the third one was pretty, too. She was the girliest of them all, but ironically had the shortest hair - almost boy short, but the way it was styled was feminine. She was blonde and had green eyes. She worked at the lemon stand and wore a lemon hat over her head, a pink blouse and a blue skirt. And the last boy was a skater. He had shaggy Justin Bieber-esque blonde hair underneath a beanie and blue eyes. He had on a yellow shirt with a red scorpion logo on it and dark blue shorts with a chain on them. "Wow, all of those girls are hot." Freddie thought to himself, walking past them.
"So how'd you get fired this time?" Wyatt asked. "Some idiot customer complained that I gave him Coke instead of Pepsi when Wendy's only sells Coke products." Jonesy explained. "Well, did you tell him nicely or did you call him an idiot?" The redhead girl asked. "The second one." Jonesy sighed. "See, that's why you got fired, Jonesy. You can't call your employees idiots, even if they are." The redhead said. "But Nikki does it all the time at the Khakki Barn!" Jonesy said. "Yeah, but I don't care if I get fired, plus, even if I did, they couldn't replace me." the purple haired girl said. Wyatt noticed Freddie walking by. "That guy applied for a job at my work." he said. "What difference does it make, Wyatt? I got fired from Burger McFlipster's, too." Jonesy said, turning around only to find that he recognized Freddie, too. "Wait, I saw that guy, too. He was the last customer I served before I got fired." Jonesy said. "He seems lonely. Maybe we should invite him over here." Wyatt said, getting up. He walked over to Wyatt. "Hi there, I believe we haven't formerly met. I'm Wyatt." he said, offering a hand out for Freddie to shake. "I'm Freddie, nice to meet you, Wyatt." Freddie shook his hand. "You seem kind of lonely, would you like to join me and my friends?" Wyatt asked. "Sure." Freddie decided.
The two walked back to the table. "Guys, this is Freddie. Freddie, these are my friends, Jen, Jude, Nikki, Caitlyn and Jonesy." Wyatt said as the two sat down. "Nice to meet you guys. Although I already met you two, sort of." Freddie said to Wyatt and Jonesy. "So what brings you here, Freddie?" Jen, the redhead, asked.
Freddie took a breath. "Well, I'm pretty new to this country. I'm from America, I grew up in Seattle, but I ran away from home yesterday because my life sucks. You see, I was never treated with much respect by almost anyone, even my friends and family. My mom is psychotically overprotective, and my only friends treat me like crap. Have you guys heard of a webshow called iCarly?" Freddie asked. They all shook their heads. "Well, it's a webshow that got really popular out of the blue that my two friends, Carly and Sam, started three years ago with me. Well, Sam's not really my friend, she's Carly's friend. Carly's my friend, or at least she was, and I've had a crush on her for the last four or five years. Sam bullied me and made me feel horrible about myself every single day, and Carly didn't do a thing to stop it. Not only that, Carly knew I had a crush on her and would use that to manipulate me into doing whatever she wanted me to, whether I wanted to or not. And both of them would put me in the middle of their arguments and neither of them would listen to reason. It almost ruined the show. It's happened a couple times, one time lead to them nearly falling off of a window washing platform to their deaths. Long story. But anyway, I was the show's technical producer, I put everything together and made the show happen, but neither Carly nor Sam seemed to understand that. Plus, the show made them internet famous. It's not so much that I care about internet fame, I don't, but I wish people recognized and appreciated the hard work I put in to make iCarly what it is today. Anyway, this past week, my camera has had problems so I had to get a new one, and I did. I came back, and they were both talking shit about me behind my back. Sam usually does, but even Carly joined in. She brought up a certain incident where I pushed her out of the way of a truck and got hit myself to save her life. We briefly dated after that, but Sam got in my head and said that Carly was in love with what I did and not me. I hated to admit it but she was right. I talked to Carly about it and told her that maybe we should wait until the whole thing wore off that way if she still had feelings for me we could get together soon. I was hoping she did because I still did, but yesterday she told Sam that not only did she not have feelings for me, but also that the whole thing was a mistake and that I'm still the same dorky kid from the AV club I was three years ago and that I should take a hint. That was the last straw. I didn't even bother showing up for the webshow. I left, and said goodbye to the only person who ever had any respect for me - Carly's older brother, Spencer. That night, I stole $3,000 from my mother to make it here, get food, a motel room and hopefully a job. Unfortunately I haven't been having much luck with the job part because I'm fifteen. They still turn me down even when I tell them I turn sixteen in three months." Freddie explained. The gang were at a loss for words. "Wow. Freddie, I am so sorry." Wyatt said. "That sounds like the worst life ever." Nikki, the purple haired girl, added. "Yeah, some friends they sound like. We can be your friends from now on." Jen said. "Really?" Freddie asked. "Yeah, no friends are better than friends like that. We've got your back, kid." Jonesy said. Freddie smiled. This was the first time he'd ever felt accepted. "Thanks, guys." he said.
