The next day, the seven teens hung out at the Big Squeeze. These past few days have been the happiest Freddie's ever been. He had six new friends who treated him better than his old friends did and believed in him. He liked all of them. Wyatt was pretty much just like him except more of a music guy than a computer guy, so the two got along famously. Jude seemed a little weird (possibly stoned), but was the king of being laid-back and non judgmental. Jonesy managed to be a pretty cool guy, ego and womanizing aside. Jen was a little bossy and high strung but also a really nice person who cared a lot about her friends and tried to do things in their best interest. Nikki was very sarcastic and brutally honest, and could be a bit rude sometimes but usually she was pretty easygoing, not to mention funny. And Caitlyn was a little spoiled and occasionally ditzy but was still a nice person and a loyal friend. "Did you get fired again?" Nikki asked. "Yep." Jonesy said. "At least you're able to find a job. I've been looking for days and keep getting turned down." Freddie said. "Have you ever thought of, oh, I don't know, lying about your age?" Jonesy asked. "Well, no. But what if I get caught?" Freddie asked. "Dude, I lie on my resumes all the time. Why do you think I keep getting hired at different jobs?" Jonesy asked. "Actually, he might have a point, Freddie. You're not far from sixteen anyway, so why not fudge the truth a little?" Nikki asked. "Those are some good points. I'm gonna give it a try." Freddie said. "Alright, dude! I hear the Wendy's is still hiring after I got canned there." Jonesy said. "Yeah, I kind of waited on applying there because I didn't want to seem like a vulture and apply right after you got fired." Freddie said. "You might as well, Freddie. Jonesy's been fired from most of the other places you applied." Wyatt said. "Yeah, dude. Carpe diem. It's Latin for 'seize the fish'." Jude added. "You mean 'seize the day'?". Freddie asked. "Eh, same thing." Jude shrugged. "You can do this, Freddie!" Jen told him. "Thanks, guys." Freddie smiled. He could get used to this. Six friends who were actually nice to him and encouraged him to do what he wanted to do. This was something he never had before. And with that, he went to apply at the Wendy's and got the job. "I got the job, thanks for believing in me, guys!" He said, high-fiving all of them. "We knew you could, bro." Wyatt said. "Yeah, you deserve it after what you've been through." Caitlyn added. "The next step is getting you a girlfriend so that you can forget that Carly chick. And I'll be your wing-man." Jonesy offered. "I dunno, Jonesy." Freddie hesitated. "Freddie, trust me on this. No one knows chicks better than the Jonesmeister." Jonesy told him. "Yeah, right." Nikki rolled her eyes. "Do ya trust me?" Jonesy asked. Freddie thought for a moment. "Fine. But no womanizing, I'm not that kind of guy." Freddie said. "Oh, alright." Jonesy decided.
