"Let's get married!"
That's what Ragatha told the mirror, before shaking her head with a sigh and putting her hands on her hips.
"No, I can't be pushy about it."
Ragatha had been going out with Jax for some time now. He was insufferable, but he was still charming when he needed to be. He was a very good kisser, after all.
Ragatha had one day asked Caine if marriage was possible in the Digital Circus, and he said that as long as the two of them signed a legal binding contract, they could get married. Now it was time for Ragatha to ask Jax, because she wasn't gonna wait for him to come around.
Ragatha got onto one knee and opened her hand as if she was opening a ring box.
"Jax my darling, will you marry me?" Ragatha asked. After a moment, she stood back up, shaking her head again. "No, no, no!"
Ragatha sighs. She sighed so loudly that she didn't hear the purple rabbit sneaking into her room, and he ended up surprising her in the mirror.
"JAX!" Ragatha shouts. "You nearly gave me a heart attack!"
"Was I interrupting something?" Jax asks. "Thank goodness you weren't naked when I walked in, although that would've been better."
"I was just… fixing my hair." Ragatha said with a nervous chuckle, quickly fluffing her hair as if nothing happened. Jax squints his eyes.
"Okay?" he said, and Ragatha took a deep breath.
"Jax, can I talk to you about something? She asked. Everything that Jax had ever done since he joined the circus suddenly came to his mind. Ragatha gestured to her bed and they both sat down on it.
"What do you want, dollface?" Jax says, acting like he isn't having a panic attack.
"It's about us," Ragatha said. Even worse, she was breaking up with him. "Do you remember the day you kissed me?"
"Yeah, it was in that Tunnel of Love thing Caine made us go on that one time," Jax said. "I needed an excuse to kiss you because I loved you. I still do, but I had to seize that moment."
"I remember trying to explain all the lipstick on your face," Ragatha said, a small grin on her face. "You looked cute with my makeup on."
"So what did you want to tell me?" Jax said, changing the subject. Ragatha slowly took his hands into hers.
"Listen, you may be annoying, but I've been in love with you for a long time. You're a jerk but you're so soft, caring, and you make me feel safe here," Ragatha said. "Also, you haven't put centipedes in my room today."
"What are you trying to say?" Jax asked, raising a suspicious eyebrow. Ragatha's lips began to quiver as she spoke.
"Will you….Do you….I wanna…" she started, suddenly losing her vocabulary.
"Come on dollface, spit it out!" Jax says, beginning to lose his patience.
"DO YOU WANNA GET MARRIED?!" She blurted, panting after she asked.
Jax took a moment to process whatever Ragatha just said. "Can you even do that here?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah," Ragatha said. "Caine said that if we sign a legal binding contract, we can get married."
"Well then…" Jax said, before shrugging. "Sure, why not?"
Ragatha blinked. "Really?" she asked, surprised.
"I don't see why not," Jax said. "I wonder what it's like to be married."
"Wow, I am overwhelmed with so many emotions right now," Ragatha said, running a hand through her yarn hair. "I think I might-"
Ragatha suddenly threw herself onto Jax, and they both fell onto the bed. Ragatha pulled him in for a kiss on the lips, before she kept kissing him all over his face.
"Watch it, dollface, you'll get your makeup all over my face again." Jax told her. "I don't want Gangle drawing doujinshi of us."
"I'm sorry, I'm just so happy right now," Ragatha said. "I didn't think I would ever find love in the digital circus, let alone get married. Let's both do our best, for everyone here."
"Oh, dollface," Jax smirked. "You know I like seeing you smile."
They go in for another kiss, this time wrapping their arms around each other and making out before they both pass out on the bed. Even when Ragatha and Jax had heated moments and argued like a married couple, they still loved each other's company, and now they actually were a married couple.
