Everyone returns to their respective homes.
On a pleasantly warm Saturday morning, Logan makes the decision to visit a local park in order to immerse himself in the beauty of the nature trail and capture some photographs for his cherished scrapbook. This newfound hobby serves as a means for him to unwind and alleviate the stress that often accompanies the life of a middle school student. After two hours of leisurely exploration, Logan's attention is abruptly drawn to the sound of a distressed young girl. As he listens more intently, he recognizes the familiar tone of her scream and instinctively rushes towards the origin of the commotion. To his dismay, he witnesses Eric forcefully strike Katie, causing her to fall from her tricycle, and seize her beloved stuffed monkey, Giggles. A surge of fiery rage engulfs Logan, propelling him forward as he confronts Eric.
"Cease your actions immediately!" Logan exclaims, his voice filled with determination, as he forcefully restrains Eric.
"Release me!" Eric retorts, his voice filled with defiance.
"No longer shall I tolerate your bullying!" Logan asserts, his voice unwavering. "Where is your father?"
"He is not present. My mother dropped me off and ventured to the Starbucks across the street," Eric reveals.
"Excellent. We shall proceed there without delay," Logan declares confidently.
"Logan, what on earth is happening here?" Kendall exclaims, rushing over to him and Eric.
"I caught him harming Katie. Why was she all alone over here? Weren't you supposed to be keeping an eye on her? Shame on you!" Logan asserts.
"It's not my fault she wandered off. She didn't listen to me," Kendall defends himself.
"She's five. You're thirteen. Take charge," Logan admonishes.
"Wait, did you just say that the boy you're pinning down hurt Katie?" Ms. Knight inquires, her concern evident.
"Yes, ma'am. This is Eric. He's been causing a lot of trouble for me at school. He claimed his mother is at the Starbucks across the street. I'm heading over there to inform her about his actions," Logan declares.
"I'm coming with you," Ms. Knight states confidently.
Logan expresses his approval, stating, "That's a great idea."
Ms. Knight gives her son specific instructions, saying, "Kendall, please take Katie to the car and wait inside. Ensure that her tricycle is placed in the trunk."
Katie, in a desperate and tearful state, pleads, "But what about Giggles?! I want Giggles!"
Logan demands Eric to return the monkey immediately, stating, "Give her back the monkey now!"
Eric promptly complies, and Katie snatches her beloved stuffed animal back, proceeding to kick him hard in the knee. Eric winces in pain, exclaiming, "Ow! That hurt!"
Kendall, in defense of Katie, asserts, "You hurt her much worse, you jerk!" He then follows Ms. Knight's instructions and takes Katie and the tricycle to the car.
At Starbucks, Eric's mother notices him in the company of Logan and Ms. Knight, prompting her to ask, "Eric, is this a friend from school?"
Logan clarifies, "Ma'am, your son is not my friend. He's a bully."
Eric's mother brings up the incident from the previous day when Eric's father was upset with him for causing trouble after school, asking, "Is this the boy you were being mean to?"
Eric admits, "Yes, ma'am."
His mother inquires further, asking, "Did you do something to him again?"
Eric responds, "No, I didn't do anything to him this time."
"What have you done, Eric?" his mother inquires, her frustration evident.
"He harmed my little girl, who is merely five years old. Although I did not personally witness the incident, Logan's behavior towards Eric indicated that something had transpired," Ms. Knight explains.
"Allow me to elucidate. While I was traversing the nature trail, engrossed in capturing photographs, I suddenly heard Katie's distressing cries. Hastening to the scene, I discovered Eric pushing her off her tricycle. Moreover, he brazenly snatched her beloved stuffed monkey, Giggles. Katie holds an immense significance in my life, and I hold her in the highest regard. Witnessing her being subjected to bullying was unbearable, prompting me to swiftly subdue Eric," Logan recounts.
"Eric, I am profoundly disappointed in you," Eric's mother expresses. "What possible justification could you have for exhibiting such cruelty towards a kindergartener?"
"She recklessly ran over my foot with her tricycle," Eric retorts.
"So, in response, your solution was to forcefully shove her off the tricycle and pilfer her cherished stuffed animal? Is that how you choose to address a situation where a little girl, who caused minimal harm, is involved?" Logan asserts confidently.
With a look of utter dismay on her face, Eric's mother turns to gaze at Ms. Knight, her voice heavy with concern.
"Oh, my apologies. I hope your little girl is alright," she ventures.
Ms. Knight offers a reassuring nod and replies, "Thankfully, she'll manage. This whole ordeal has shaken her up, but she'll be alright."
"Thank heavens," Eric's mom breathes a sigh of relief. "Eric, we're leaving. Brace yourself for your father's anger. But first, you must apologize to poor Katie for causing her harm."
Ms. Knight interjects, "My car is conveniently parked just outside. Shall we proceed there together?" And so they embark on the short journey, each step carrying them closer to resolution.
In the distance, Kendall catches sight of them and effortlessly rolls down his window, his eyes locking with Eric's.
"Ready for the much-anticipated sequel of our epic clash?" Kendall taunts.
But instead of responding with hostility, Eric surprises him with unexpected sincerity. "I'm actually here to apologize to Katie," Eric confesses.
Peering sharply at Eric, Kendall's anger momentarily subsides. "She's asleep," he retorts. "But mark my words, if you ever hurt her again, there won't be a safe haven for you on this earth that can shield you from my wrath."
Attempting to diffuse the tension, Eric's mom intervenes, guiding her son forcefully towards their waiting car. "Rest assured, he will find the perfect moment to sincerely apologize," she assures Kendall.
Appreciative of Logan's assistance, Kendall turns his attention to him. "Thank you for looking out for Katie," he acknowledges, a hint of regret underlying his words.
Fixing Kendall with a firm gaze, Logan's words carry a gentle admonishment. "If you had been more vigilant, she wouldn't have ended up hurt. But you're welcome. Just remember to pay attention next time. She's far too precious to endure any harm," he says, a tender smile playing on his lips as he admires Katie's serene slumber in her whimsical Minnie Mouse-themed car seat.
Kendall's voice carries a hint of remorse as he responds to Logan's wise words. "I know. I'll make sure to do better," Kendall vows earnestly.
With their hearts heavy with a mix of emotions, they all retreat to their respective homes, hopeful for a future filled with increased watchfulness and safeguarding of their beloved Katie.
