Hello, everyone! PHANTOMKNIGHTMARE47 here, with the third chapter of Sonic Forces 2: Eggman's Revenge. In this chapter, Sonic learns of the existence of the Phantom Mutants, shocked that a majority of his fellow Mobians have gained superpowers following the destruction of the Phantom Ruby. He even encounters a cyborg Mobian bengal tiger named Chance. However, Sonic and Chance run into the Egg-Bosses, with a new member in the form of E-261, AKA Dow The Hedgehog, a synthetic life-form created by Eggman's head scientist, Lien-Da the Echidna. However, Dow is revealed to be too nice to be considered as a living weapon. However, Dow starts having second thoughts, when she learns the dark truth behind what Eggman is doing. Will Dow have a change of heart, and help Sonic in stopping Eggman and his forces? Get ready to find out in this newest chapter of Sonic Forces 2: Eggman's Revenge!

Chapter 3: Meet Dow The Hedgehog!

It shows Sonic speeding throughout the streets of Mobotropolis, with a female Mobian cheetah speeding besides him. The cheetah in question had violet eyes, black hair, marigold fur, and wore a red tank top, jeans, a belt with an oni buckle, and boots. This was Madison the Cheetah, one of several Mobians who could match Sonic in terms of speed.

"Woohoo!" said Sonic, with an elated smile on his face.

"Loads of fun, huh?" said Madison, sounding like Ahsoka Tano from Star Wars: The Clone Wars, suddenly, a female Mobian bluejay sped past them on an Extreme Gear board.

"What the hey?" said Sonic, bewildered.

"She's hella fast." said Madison, stunned by this.

Meanwhile, it shows one of Eggman's head scientists, Lien-Da the Echidna, facing her fellow Egg-Bosses, with an obese female Mobian hedgehog that had beige fur, peach skin, and purple eyes. "Everyone, this is E-261. My own attempt at Eggman's very own synthetic life-form."

"To be honest, I'm not that keen on the whole E-261 name." said E-261, sounding like Gabby Griffon from My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. "To be honest, I kinda prefer the name, Dow."

"This tubby little ton of fun is an Egg-Boss?" said Axel, snickering. "She'd be better off as living cannon fodder, if you ask me!" he laughed. Dow pouted angrily, and kicked Axel in the nuts.

"DAMN!" he yowled, as he then dropped to his knees, eyes watering. "She hits hard!"

"Don't underestimate her." said Lien-Da, sounding similar to Misako from Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitzu.

Later, it shows Sonic learning more about the Phantom Mutants, from a file that Tails stole off of Eggman's computer.

"So…after Infinite bought the farm, and the Phantom Ruby was smashed to bits following the war between the Resistance and Eggstache's Army, various other Mobians have developed superpowers, upon being exposed to the Phantom Ruby's energy," said Sonic, taken by surprise. "They can control the elements, fly, heal people, increase in size and height…whoa…" he then got off, and decided to take a walk. He then looked to see a Mobian bengal tiger with orange fur, black hair with orange tint styled similar to Kira Yamato from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, and amethyst purple eyes, with a red version of Cyo's vest with cyan lights, two mechanical legs similar to Darth Maul's prosthetic legs, a mechanical left arm similar to a Gerbera Devil Breaker from Devil May Cry 5, crossed with Cyo's mechanical hand and forearm, with clawed fingertips, some cyan lights on his beck, a light in the center of his chest, and a mechanical end of his tail.

"Hello there." said the tiger Mobian, sounding similar to Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach. "My name is Chance The Tiger, and it's a pleasure to meet Sonic The Hedgehog, in person."

"It's a pleasure to meet ya, Chance." said Sonic, smiling a little. "So, what's your story?"

"Well, I'm a Restoration soldier who got critically injured in the line of battle, losing the use of my left arm and both legs, and my spine and heart being damaged, so Tails and Cyo repaired my body, fitting me with a mechanical hand and forearm, two mechanical legs, a heart battery, a tech spine, and a cybernetic tail end." said Chance, explaining everything.

"Damn…" said Sonic, feeling bad for Chance.

"I help keep Mobius safe, just like you, Sonic." said Chance, smiling a little.

Later, it shows Sonic conversing with Chance, until suddenly, they were intercepted by some of the Egg-Bosses, Nephthys the Vulture, Axel the Water Buffalo, Akhult the Orca, and Maw the Thylacine, as well as Dow the Hedgehog.

"A new Egg-Boss?" said Sonic, with a smirk. "Just another butt to kick!"

"Right behind ya." said Chance, as he fired a micro-rocket at Axel, which blew up, singing some of the Mobian water-buffalo's fur and burning some skin. Sonic charged up with Chaos Energy, and spindashed Nephthys out of the sky, before spindashing Maw in the gut, knocking the wind out of the Mobian thylacine's lungs. Chance then fought against Akhult, who grabbed him by the neck.

"Let go!" said Chance, struggling to break free.

"Or what?" said Akhult, scowling. Suddenly, a sharp blade extended from the cybernetic end of Chance's tail, and he stabbed it into Akhult's face. Akhult yowled in pain, dropping the Mobian cyborg tiger. Sonic then spundash into Dow's body, only to bounce off. Sonic was then struck with a tranquilizer dart.

"NO!" said Chance, shocked, as he then turned his robotic hand into a rotary blaster, and opened fire at the other Egg-Bosses.

"We have our quarry! Let's move!" said Axel, as he, Akhult, and Dow made it back to the Egg-Base. Maw was trying to keep up, but was frozen when Chance turned his arm into a freeze ray.

"Oh crumbs!" Maw gulped, sounding similar to Moxxie from Helluva Boss.

"You're gonna tell me what they're planning to do to Sonic, right now." said Chance, glaring daggers at Maw.

"I ain't telling you jack squat, you half-tiger!" said Maw, as he then spat in Chance's face.

"We'll take it from here, Chance." said a voice, as Shadow arrived, alongside Rouge and E-123 Omega. Shadow then took out a syringe full of truth-serum, and injected it into Maw.

"Now, what do the Egg-Bosses plan on doing with Sonic?" said Shadow, scowling.

"Th-they're gonna turn Sonic into a Robian as slowly and painfully as possible, strip him of his free will, and have him slaughter all his friends…!" said Maw.

"We're not letting that happen." said Rouge, as she then knocked out Maw with a punch.

Later, it shows Sonic in a cell, where we see Eggman chortling to himself.

"This is fantastic! Finally, I have my most hated archenemy in my captivity!" said Eggman, laughing like a madman.

"What're you gonna do now, boss?" said Akhult

"Easy, I'm gonna turn him into a Robian as slowly and painfully as possible, strip him of his free will, and send him off to slaughter his worthless friends!" said Eggman, with a deranged look on his face.

"But I don't want him to be turned into a robot!" Dow complained, on the verge of a hissy-fit.

"Well too bad, so sad, Princess Chubbarella! Because what I say, goes. Deal with it!" said Eggman. Dow stormed off, grumbling.

'I guess a lot of the stuff that people are saying about Eggman is true. Eggman really IS a horrible person.' Dow thought, scowling. She then faced Sonic 'I gotta get Sonic back to his friends, before Eggman actually does turn him into a Robian!'

Sonic sulked in his cell, until he heard Dow whisper to him. "Psst! It's me, Dow!" said Dow, whispering to him. "I now understand why everyone sees Eggman as public enemy number one. I'll help you escape, if you play your cards right."

"You're not like any of the other Egg-Bosses, are you?" said Sonic, surprised to hear that Dow was actually going to help him escape.

"Of course not. I'm much nicer than Axel, Akhult, and the others." said Dow. She then gave Sonic a pill. "Lien-Da made this. It's a pill that when taken orally, puts someone in a death-like sleep for 6 minutes. I'll carry you out. Once you come to, I want you to start running, and keep running."

"Gotcha." said Sonic, as he then took the pill, and felt his brain shut off as his eyes glazed over, and he fell backwards, until Dow caught him. 'Last thing we need is for you to get a concussion.' she thought, having caught her new friend. "Doctor! I have bad news! Sonic ended up going into an epileptic seizure, and died in his cell just now!" said Dow, hiding the fact that Sonic wasn't really dead.

"Curses!" said Eggman, aggravated. He then managed to pluck off one of Sonic's quills though. "He's no use to us, if he's dead. Take him out back to the body disposal unit. If he won't make a good Robian, he'll make a good mulch."

"Yessir." said Dow, as she hefted Sonic over her shoulder, and carried him outside.

Later, when Sonic woke up, he felt a little queasy, so Dow got him to his feet, and Sonic doubled over, vomiting.

"Yeeaaah, that's a side effect for the False Death Pill that Lien-Da made." said Dow, sweat-dropping with a nervous smile. "Once someone comes out of the deathlike state, they wake up with the mother of all splitting headaches, and they're nauseous for about a few hours."

"I'll be OK." said Sonic, as he coughed a little.

"Sonic. I wanna help you guys in stopping Eggman." said Dow, determined to help out those in need. "I wanna join the Freedom Fighters."

"Glad to hear, Dow." said Sonic. He was about to start running, until Dow spoke

"Careful not to run, super fast, you'll end up motion sick." said Dow.

"Gotcha." said Sonic. Tails, Amy, and Knuckles noticed this.

"Is that Egg-Boss actually helping Sonic?" said Amy, bewildered by this sight.

"It appears so, yeah." said Tails, just as flabbergasted. They then met up with Sonic and Dow.

"I wanna join the Freedom Fighters, because I wanna help you guys make Mobius a better place." said Dow, determined to help Sonic and co. save Mobius from Eggman.

"Welcome aboard, Dow." said Tails, smiling a little. The gang then headed back to the Freedom Fighters base.

At the Freedom Fighters base, they were surprised to hear that a former Egg-Boss was joining their squadron.

"So, Eggman made his own synthetic life-form?" said Shadow, surprised to learn that the grandson of Dr. Gerald Robotnik had made his own artificial Mobian.

"Yeah, and she's too nice to be mean." said Sonic, nodding in confirmation. "So, she left the Eggman Army, and now she's on our side."

"Also, Sonic…" said Knuckles, shuffling his feet. "There's something I gotta confess: I…I…I HAVE A CRUSH ON SONIA!" he exclaimed, blushing madly

"You have a crush on my SISTER?" Sonic blurted out, shocked by this news. Everyone else was shocked by this revelation.

"Yeah. It's true." said Knuckles, nodding in confirmation.

"I'm warning you right now, Knuckles: If you break Sonia's heart, in any way, shape, or form, I will personally make you bleed like a stuck pig. Got that?" said Sonic, glaring daggers at the Guardian of the Master Emerald, threatening to send Knuckles to urgent care, if the red echidna broke Sonia's heart.

"Gotcha." said Knuckles, nervously.

"Good." said Sonic, with a serious look on his face. Knuckles looked ready to piss himself out of terror.

'Hoo boy, Sonic's a helicopter brother.' thought Amy, a little nervous.

Meanwhile, it cuts to the other Egg-Bosses, such as Yomi Kurogane, a Mobian melanistic lion who got turned into a horned melanistic liger manticore thanks to Lien-Da, as well as Antonio Paguro, AKA Indigo the Octopus, whose body was turned into a tar-based substance when Eggman force-fed him a tar-like substance.

"So, Dow's basically switched factions." said Yomi, sounding like Hopper from the Disney Pixar film, A Bug's Life. "That is greatly unexpected." Yomi had charcoal fur, with black tiger stripes, four gray-colored horns, two large wings, and a scorpion's tail covered in toxic barbs he can shoot off at will. He had black hair with purple tint, and amethyst purple eyes. He also had a literal third eye in the middle of his forehead, known as the Jagan, which was surgically implanted into him, due to his demonic genes.

"Exactly what I was gonna say." said Indigo, sounding like Deadpool.

"This got a whole lot more interesting, Tony." said Yomi, with a smirk on his face.

Meanwhile, Eggman was in the infirmary, getting blood work done, and he found out that he had contracted a form of NIDS, attacking his motor neurons.

"This proves troublesome." said Eggman, scowling a little.

Next time, on Sonic Forces 2: Eggman's Revenge, Sonic meets the members of Brad's own team of Freedom Fighters, Team Savior, with some of them being Phantom Mutants themselves. However, when Scourge arrives, the gang work together to stop him, and Sonic discovers something about Noah the White Lion. Next time, Chapter 4: The Fall Of Scourge!
