A/N: Zephyr here, back again with another story. Now before we start this, last year during my post-graduation party, I found out the voice actor of not just Colt from Brawl Stars, but as Inteleon, Ash's Rotom Phone, and others from various Anime and Animation; Billy Kametz passed away.
Words cannot describe how shocked and heartbroken I was, and he was the reason why I mained Colt during my Brawl Stars journey. I was also going to do some artwork of the brawler himself in honor of him, but I was in a serious combination of sick, busy, stressed, and tired.
So yeah I made this in honor of Billy Kametz, the guy whose reason why I have Colt as my main in the first place. Rest in Peace, Billy.. You're the reason why I continued playing Brawl Stars as Colt..
Anyways, let's get started.
"Do you know where Colt is?" A familiar voice asked as he walked over to Belle, noticing that she had a very worried look on her face. "I know you're concerned, but we can't seem to find him anywhere!"
"No need to do this, Ruffs." Belle sighed sadly as she got up, her golden arm shining in the light. "Listen, not only I'll find him myself, I'll also have the others help me out as well.."
The canine-like figure stood much to his concern over Belle, but soon he nodded. "Good luck, Belle."
It wasn't the same ever since Colt's absence as of today, and without him, today's events weren't the same at all. Gem Grab, no Colt. Showdown, still no Colt in sight. Brawl Ball, still no sheriff in sight. Even Ruffs tried his best to look for him throughout the entire morning, yet he still couldn't find him anywhere.
Ruffs tried to get help from either Pam or Rosa, yet they still haven't seen him in sight. Earlier that morning, the colonel canine got up to get ready for ship duties, but as soon as he got outside, Colt appeared to be missing in action. The only thing that remains on the ground is Colt's badge.
At the Starr Memorial Park, Colt is seen just a few feet away from what appeared to be a tombstone, kneeling down with mere disbelief in his eyes. He couldn't believe, his number one star, had passed away way too soon.
Tears cascaded down his eyes before letting out a sad sigh. "Billy, my number one star.." Colt sighed, his voice breaking.
He grabbed a few daisies off the ground before placing it onto where his number one star, Billy, was buried. "I swear, another life taken too soon.."
"I swear, the last time I saw Colt was yesterday when he was still at the Showdown arena." Fang growled as he slammed the clipboard against the table. "Several hours and still no sheriff in sight!"
"Fang, I know you're upset, but Colt just needs some time off. Perhaps he's tired or he's..sick.." Max responded as she attempted to place a hand onto the fighter's shoulder, before hesitantly pausing. "But still, if he's missing then we need to find him before we find him dead."
Max opened her mouth to talk before being cut off by a loud yell that ricocheted across the hallways. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN BILLY IS DEAD!?"
Both Max and Fang shook and turned their back to not just Colt they're expecting, but what appeared to be Shelly, running across the hallways with disbelief in her eyes. "I SWEAR I SAW HIM TWO DAYS AGO!"
"Crap..I know where he is.." Max shook as she grabbed her watch off the counter. "C'mon, Fang, the hospital!"
"Wait! Max, there's no way Colt's in the hospital!" Fang shouted as he placed a hand against Max's shoulder to stop her, "Listen, I know we have no time to explain everything, but I know where Colt's actually at."
Back at the memorial park, Colt still stood near where Billy was buried, staring at the tombstone with agony in his eyes. "Billy, I know you can't see me anymore, but I just wanted to know that you're the reason why I kept going.."
The sheriff kept staring at the tombstone with Billy's name written all over it before he continued speaking. "And..I couldn't even keep myself up without you, but now that you're gone, I don't think I'll be able to keep on going.."
Before Colt was about to say something else, he paused as he heard yelling across the valley. "COLT! COLT, WHERE ARE YOU!?"
The sheriff got up and took a few moments to notice what appeared to be Max, running across the valley with concern in her eyes. She then stopped and noticed Colt, out here at the memorial park just a few miles away. "Colt! Fang, I found him!"
Both Max and Fang ran towards Colt before saying anything, before noticing the tombstone next to him. "You..you couldn't be.."
"He died.." Were those words he'd let out before Colt became overwhelmed enough for everything to go completely dark.
"Overwhelmed by his agony, I'm afraid so.." Pam sighed sadly as she turned off her computer before going back to where both Max and Fang stood. "Thankfully he didn't suffer any fractures, but his unconsciousness caused us a huge scare earlier that morning.."
"Yeah, he passed out just when he finished speaking.." Max went back to the still unconscious Colt that stood on the bed. "Blacked out due to how overwhelmed he was.."
"Listen, it's hard to deal with something terrible, but-" Pam was about to finish speaking before Max cut her off.
"Billy died, that's all we have to say.." Max's words caused Pam to freeze in sheer disbelief. "I know it's devastating, but there's literally nothing we can do. Plus, we didn't even get a chance to say goodbye.."
"He..what?" Pam muttered, staring at Max with a serious look in her eyes. "Billy..died?"
"Yeah, Colt told us about it before he passed out.." Max started, "But we didn't know about him before Shelly became so devastated enough for us to take a hint where Colt went, and so we did, found him at the memorial park.."
"M-Max, I'm.." Pam paused before turning her back. "I'm so sorry.."
"No, we're all sorry.." Max replied before going back to the still-unconscious Colt that stood on the bed next to her. "And we all feel bad for Colt after all, since Billy is the reason he kept on going without giving up.."
Pam turned back at Max with disbelief on her face. "Yeah, you're right. Billy is the reason Colt kept on goin' without giving up no matter what.."
"If you need any help, a service is enough." Fang sighed sadly as he walked towards the disbelieved Pam. "No- Actually, ALL of us need a service in honor of the star.."
"Like a golden bullet gone too soon, but it still has its wings.."
Back at the Starr Memorial Park, Colt returned to where Billy was buried, just a day after the service had taken place. His eyes were slightly red from agony, yet a smile had grown on his face everytime he came back to his grave. Just several moments before Billy's death, Colt was at the hospital, saying his final goodbyes before getting his wings.
Before all brawlers had to do so, Colt was the only fighter to ever say his final goodbyes before Billy passed.
"Billy, again, I know you can't see me anymore, but I'm glad I managed to say goodbye before you're no longer with us.." Colt sighed sadly as he kneeled down. "Even if you're my silver bullet, I'll always continue on as a golden bullet in your heart."
Billy wasn't just Colt's friend, he was Colt's silver bullet at heart. His grave contained a boquet of flowers and lastly, Colt's old badge. "At least you're with others up there now.."
Before Colt could say anything else, he jolted as he felt something poke his shoulder. He turned around and it appeared to be the same canine from that same morning, Ruffs. The canine who started the search for the sheriff.
"I'm so sorry, Colt.." Ruffs sighed sadly as he kneeled down next to him, "It's hard to lose someone you love, and I've been dealing with that when I wasn't old.."
"So you're not the only one who deals with that?" Colt asked, confused.
"No, Colt. Not just the two of us, but all of us had to deal with the loss of a loved one; especially parents, children, heck, even pets as well!" Ruffs barked as he let out a chuckle, before the smile on his muzzle drooped down. "But at least you managed to say goodbye to that silver bullet before all of us did.."
"Yeah, I'm just a lucky bullet.." Colt sighed as he responded sadly, "A very lucky bullet.."
"No, Colt. You're not just a bullet.." Ruffs barked, "You're a Silver bullet.."
Nearly a week has passed ever since Billy's death and the service had taken place, Colt was the only brawler to ever say goodbye to him before passing, and he was lucky he'd ever did so.
The weather was calmer than usual, with the leaves dancing with the cold breeze, and a few brawlers appear to be getting ready for their Showdown match.
Colt on the other hand appeared to have gotten himself ready before everyone else did, and his face no longer appeared to be in sheer agony. He was getting himself ready for that win in honor of his number one star.
As he was about to head outside the door, Colt noticed that one of his pistols had gone missing. Panicking, Colt rummaged around his room to look for his beloved weapons, and yet none of them are in sight. Growling in frustration, Colt storms outside the door before stopping to notice Ruffs, standing in front of the sheriff with a proud look on his face.
"Before you say anything, I've taken your pistols to Pam's.." Ruffs spoke before Colt out of anger, positioned himself in a battle stance before the canine could stop him from doing anything else, "Wait! Before you do anything, I've got them decorated for you!"
"Better not be some childish thing you have in mind.." Colt scoffed as he calmed himself down, before watching Ruffs pull out the pistols he was looking for. In his eyes, he noticed that his pistols appeared to be more silver-ish compared to his older weapons he had in the past, and the metal handles were replaced with leather.
Not just leather handles, Colt even noticed it even had Billy's signature on each of them as well. He couldn't believe his eyes. Ruffs did this not just for Colt, but for Billy as a token of his honor.
The sheriff could feel tears run down his face as he took the redesigned weapons away from the canine's hands. "I-It's..IT'S BEAUTIFUL!"
"Well I'm glad you liked it, Sheriff-"
"No, I LOVE THEM! I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!" Colt shouted excitedly as he proceeded to hug the colonel canine that stood with a proud look. "THANK YOU SO MUCH, RUFFS!"
Ruffs nodded in response proudly before letting Colt run free, storing the redesigned pistols in both pockets. "Let 'em have it, Sheriff.."
Colt nodded back and soon stormed back outside, running over to the Showdown stadium with a determined look on his face, knowing that he's going to wrestle that win out of the opponents hands in honor of his golden bullet.
"This is for you, Billy!"
-The End-
