I do not own Fate or RWBY
-xXx-
"Okay, can you explain it again to me, from the top?"
"Centuries ago, seven magus famil–"
"Wait, not the history! Just, the important details of this… 'war'."
"Okay, simply put, seven magus masters summons the heroes of myth and legend for a battle royal. The prize, a wish." Rin explained in a single breath.
"So, people will get hurt? Since our town is the battleground." Shirou asked seriously as Rin winced and remembered that horrible fire decades ago.
"More or less."
"There will be battles, death, and killing." As he sipped some tea, Voyager said, "That is the nature of the war; but don't just think about civilian casualty, kid; you are literally thrust into a deathmatch you never asked to join."
"Yes… but at least I can make sure no one else will not get killed.
"Improbable" "Impossible" Voyager and Archer, who is on the roof said.
"And extremely dangerous" Voyager rebuked the child, "You are literally targeted now and everyone around is automatically in danger…"
Shirou made a complicated expression as his mind try to think of the implications and the dangers of this war. But every time he thinks of his life, he also thinks of many others.
"I am not worried." Shirou made a determined smile, "You only die when you get killed."
…
…
…
…
…
*Wobble?*
Juniper made a confused noise as she stuck her head through the door.
"She said, 'What?'" Voyager translated.
"Senpai…" Sakura finally said something as she held his hand, "Are you sure?"
Shirou once again gave a determined nod.
"Soooooo…." Voyager brought the attention back to him, "An alliance?"
While Shirou and Sakura looked hopeful, Rin add a conflicted look… before saying.
"Three Servants with a Wish? I don't think you guys can share…."
"My wish is already granted." Voyager commented, "Literally, my real body is now roaming free."
"Amongst the stars?" Saber asked.
"Not telling you." Voyager said, "But from that look, I can tell you are not willing to give your wish up."
Saber frowned for the first time, and had a look of irritation, before breathing in with a resigned mood; "It is… complicated."
"And Archer?"
"He wouldn't tell me…" Rin said, "But I think Emiya-kun is still confused; I suggest that we will bring him to the mediator of the war: Kotomine Kerei."
Simultaneously, both Saber and Archer made a groaning sound.
Voyager lifted an eyebrow, "Should I be concerned?"
Saber at least had the emotion to slightly blush, "It is complicated."
"...right."
*Wobble*
-xXx-
"So, tell me more of this… priest, Rin?" Voyager said as he resisted a chuckle from looking at Saber. The fellow blonde merely glared at him, "You know you can just wear your dress right?"
"He is a former master from the last Holy Grail War and almost won," Rin replied.
"So why is he not a master now?"
"Because he wanted to follow in his dad's footsteps."
"Got it."
"He also provides shelter for masters who lose their servant."
"Convenient; maybe Sakura can take refuge there while I fight the war."
Rin raised an eyebrow, "So… how will you fight without mana."
"My Class Skill is pretty high." Voyager shrugged, "The grandfather of all Voyager Class Servants is literally a lightyear away from civilization and was still active a decade and more later."
"...but that means you cannot use your Noble Phantasm," Saber commented as they walked to the church.
"There are other means to get mana… one is extremely expensive and the other will just cost a couple of drinks."
Saber scoffed at Voyager's blatant remark about that technique while the sisters blushed, "What do you mean?" But Shirou asked.
"Buying blood from blood banks will take a buck." Voyager answered, "Getting a girl, be it a MILF or one with daddy issues is cheaper. I just have to shave to look younger for the cougars."
"Ahem… so having sex seriously will give you a mana boost? I find that crude."
"Agreed." All three girls said.
"Heh, well you don't know when you need it; I prefer to use all of my options."
"But Voyager." Sakura said firmly, "I am a Master of this war too; although I was forced at first, I know I have the same desire as Shirou-senpai."
"Really… well you will not be the first teen to dive in head-first to that kind of responsibility."
Voyager didn't notice, but both Saber and Archer cringe at their personal memories of youth.
"Well! We are here." Rin presented an eerie church, "Servants cannot enter so the three of us will get in." Rin said as the masters entered the gate.
A silence permeated between Voyager and Saber… which later turned into awkward silence.
"So… You are the Servant of the Stars, and the one who travels to other worlds, but by your mount you are obviously not a spaceship."
"I could be Neil Armstrong you know?" Voyager said, "Or that Elon Musk fellow."
"And your mount says differently; that was definitely a jackalope, M– *ahem*, my godfather spoke much about it."
Voyager caught the slip of her tongue as his Mind's Eye with the Grail's info went overdrive.
A godfather whose name starts with the letter 'M'. That can be anyone from Michael the Archangel to Mozart.
Voyager eyed her attire.
A regal dress that can be worn with armor. If the godfather is Michael the Archangel, this must be St. Jeanne d'Arc; but the grail said she is bad with a sword.
Voyager still latches on to the possibility; not knowing of the irony of it from the last Grail War, but also a different one too.
"Hmmm true." Voyager said, "I can be an isekai'd character."
"But that concept in Japanese culture as the mainstream is relatively new." Saber counter-argue, "But for you to be prolific enough for your Heroic Spirit status, you must be from a well-known story if you are truly an 'isekai' character."
"Hey, Grandfather Voyager I is also new." Voyager took mock offense.
"A person who travels worlds, has a rabbit, and is beloved across the globe…" Saber ponders, "All if can think of is either Wizard of Oz or Alice in the Wonderland, but both don't have a giant jackalope."
"True…" Voyager encouraged her analysis, "It is like meeting a servant called 'Emerald' and immediately assumes she is the Emerald City."
Saber chuckled at the crazy line of thinking, "Yeah, and that makes you a mystery Voyager."
"Yup…" Voyager looked from Saber and then to the roof of the church, "A fellow servant assumed I was a spaceship because of my analytical skills." then winked at that roof with nothing on it. But Voyager knows was is really there.
"I think we let our masters in danger."
"You mean the church?" Voyager asked.
"Yes… as much as I want to inform you why, let's say I don't… trust you that much."
"Understood… but you are right; our masters are in danger." Voyager suddenly got serious as he looked behind him, "There is a master waiting for them…"
"Oh? So you noticed me?" A small girl said as she smiled… "Do you still recognize me, Saber?"
Saber made an extremely troubled look, but due to the night the girl interpreted differently, "So it seems all servants are summoned as a clean slate."
"And I don't recognize you at all." Voyager said, "Care to introduce yourself?"
"Of course!" She chirped, "especially since onii-chan and his friends are finally here."
Voyager mentally held the trigger to summon Juniper to take the three teens behind him away from here…
Suddenly a huge man appeared behind the girl as she elegantly bowed, "My name is Illya von Einzbern, and this is my servant Berser-car."
"-ker"
"An Einzbern?" Rin said, "Of course, you also get a servant."
"Indeed, and I have to tell you that it took much trouble to get Berser-car."
"-ker"
Rin suddenly used her master's skill and was left amazed, "That is incredible, his lowest stat is a B…"
"In?" Voyager followed up.
"Luck"
"Oh, you like my Berser-car?"
"-ker"
Illya's eyebrow twitched, "Can you stop correcting me!" she pointed at the male blonde.
"Ber-ser-ker." Voyager said, "Say it slowly."
Illya grit her teeth in annoyance as Berserker snared, but the master calm down, "I simply want to face you, onii-chan." Illya said to Shirou with much bloodlust, "Berser-car… KER! Attack!"
"ROAR!"
Berserker suddenly jumped as Saber shouted, "Master leave this to me!"
Suddenly, a dozen streaks of lights slammed into the giant with a huge explosion, pushing him away from the masters.
"What the hell!"
"This is what happens when two servants fight!" Rin yelled at a scared yet amazed Shirou, "Heroes of legend and myth."
"I wanna be them!"
But just as Shirou complimented the servants, Berserker burst in with amazing strength and zipped behind the redhead, stone sword drawn for a devastating blow!
Shirou instinctively blocked Sakura, thinking he can shield her.
BAM!
"Man, you are really a kid with a death wish!" Voyager appeared between the masters and Berserker with a rusted shield. It had blue light peeking out of the sides, acting like a force field before the shield glowed purple and shoved the hulk of a made with the power of gravity.
Voyager got into a strong stance as Saber stood beside him, "A huge man with a stone sword: I think he is either Goliath, Cain, or even Gilgamesh." Voyager gave his observation.
"Trust me, Gilgamesh is not a hairy huge man like what the arts suggest," Saber replied, before going for the offensive.
The two of them dances as Berserker gave wide swings as Saber brought heavy, yet swift swings of her own' dodging the huge stone just as it blocked her attacks. It is like the man can even see the invincible blade of Saber, as sparks flew and Saber was forced back multiple times.
"Saber, incoming!" Voyager yelled as he on Juniper charged in with a lamp pole! Berserker tried to swat the pole but was surprised at the strength of both the impromptu weapon and the servant. The lamp pole slammed into Berserker, as electricity ran havoc on the hulk-man.
"That won't be enough!"
"I know!" Voyager replied before shouting loudly "Archer! Where is your sniper support?!"
"He said that no amount of Noble Phantasms can kill him" Rin relayed the message.
"Tell that devil bastard to do his part!"
Suddenly, Berserker exploded in flames.
"Thank you!" Voyager shouted to the distant Archer as he observed Berserker, and the man merely looked unphased.
"Add incredible endurance…" Voyager commented seriously to Saber, "Hope he is not hell-proof, heya!"
Juniper suddenly burst forward, breaking the sound barrier as she blinked towards Berserker, the hulk-man reactively fought back, but with extreme dexterity, the jackalope backflipped kick the offending hand upwards, stunning Berserker momentary as Voyager charged in, and stabbed Berseker in the eye with a sword.
But all he got from the Hulk-man was a glare…
"What I would give to use my Noble Phantasm." Voyager sighed before using his shield to gain distance using gravity.
Saber then dove in as she fought Berserker again before the brute decided to swing even harder, forcing Saber to literally fly.
"Oh, how brave…" Illya said as she saw the masters chase after the battling servants, "But no matter what, Berserker will have Saber's head soon."
"There you go, you are now saying it right."
Illya snapped and saw the blonde servant on his jackalope, both in a relaxed sitting position. Normally a master would get extremely sacred when an enemy servant is this close to them, but apparently, Illya felt nothing but calm.
She herself knows that her calmness is not natural, yet it affected her nevertheless.
"Is that a Noble Phantasm, servant?"
"Voyager, my class is Voyager." The blonde said as he sat on his mount like a sofa, "and no, it is a personal skill… really."
"You haven't attacked me yet… are you planning to negotiate with me?"
Voyager smirked, before saying, "What is your favorite fairytale?"
-xXx-
Archer has to admit, everything is changing rather quickly; he expected Berserker to strike Shirou immediately like last time so that he can finish his younger self with an arrow. But apparently, with the addition of Voyager in the mix, things are changing.
That is logical, and it won't deter him in any way… in fact, he can actually still use a Noble Phantasm and nuke Shirou anytime.
Archer Emiya summoned a sword before reshaping it to a needle and got into a perfect kyudo stance and with grace, pulled his bow… soon, the black material of the bow strained with tons of physical force.
Eyes ready, as Archer looked to a hopeless redhead trying to catch up with Saber.
Release
He said in his head.
Release!
He couldn't do it.
RELEASE!
"FUCK ME" He yelled as he turned his aim to Berseker and fired!
The beast was lit by flames but continued his rampage while Archer glared at Shirou…
…who was followed closely by Sakura and soon, Rin.
Sakura is constantly beside that bastard.
Archer shakes his head as he stands on a crane and observes the fight between King Arthur and Hercules… despite Saber being forced to retreat, he knows it is an even match.
As he thought of these things, he didn't notice his hand shaking…
But that aside.
He can even see Illya from that distance, it will only take one arrow to end the fight of mighty Hercules, but targeting her was not even in the mind of Archer Emiya.
Though…
Archer used his Hawkeye Skill and zoomed his view of Illya sitting in front of Voyager.
What is that blonde telling Illya…
Then he saw her squeal in excitement.
What the hell?
-xXx-
"-then Ruby goes swoosh! Afterward, Yang complimented her in front of everyone and Ruby said…" Voyager imitated an embarrassed Ruby Rose, "YANG!"
"Hahahahahahaha!" Illya laugh like a child as she listens to Voyager's story about these students fighting the forces of darkness. She really liked the characters really, especially the budding friendship between Ruby and her
dorkable friend, Jaune.
The back of her mind told her that she shouldn't be listening to an enemy's servant during battle, but right now she is captivated by Voyager's story.
"And then! And then!" She jumped like a child…
"Then the teams were formed. Team RWBY and Team JNPR."
"RWBY? JNPR? Are the teams' names based on the members' names?"
"That is correct, and the R and J stand for Ruby and Jaune, meaning that they are the leaders of the teams."
"Hmmm… I feel that Weiss will not like that."
"Hehehe that will come for another time, little one."
"But I want to know more!"
"Sorry little one, but got more important things to do." Voyager then looked softly to Illya, "I know I do not have the right to speak about your situation with Shirou… But trust me when I say this: acceptance and forgiveness may be hard and will take time to reach, but once you do… it is the greatest thing you can do for yourself."
Illya ponders on her enemy's advice like a student towards a mentor.
She frowned… as her voice stuttered, "How can I forgive the abandonment I experience?"
"Is it truly Shirou's fault?"
"No… maybe? Papa left me for him!"
"But is it really…Shirou's fault?"
Illya frowned as he let her ponder once more. Juniper nuzzling her nose to the albino just to cheer her up.
"You are weird…" Illya said, "Are you a therapist?"
"Who knows… maybe I have been through shit enough to know how you feel." Voyager chuckled, "I know the feeling of vengeance and regret stewing in me for actions that both were totally out of my control and were in my total control."
Illya looked to the side, "You remind me of my servant."
Suddenly a huge amount of mana was released in the air as Voyager turned and saw a gold laser streak across the sky…
Illya sighed, "Truly, the servants of my family are incredible." She felt King Arthur kill Heracles, but her servant Noble Phantasm activated.
Her heart then spiked as Voyager placed a hand on her; eyes wide, she anticipated being killed as she foolishly stayed by a powerful enemy.
Then the ground shook…
RUMBLE!
… before a powerful clap of wind blasted across the mountain! Illya felt that she could have been blown away, but Voyager held her still and safe as her red eyes witnessed a nuke go off!
Voyager himself was impressed at the feat of Archer.
Could Archer be Oppenheimer?
Well, that is a possibility, but the Father of the Atomic Bomb is not a swordsman like Archer and definitely didn't wield Gan Jiang's tragic blades.
However, Voyager saw a dizzy Illya and found that on her hand, her Command Spells didn't disappear.
Voyager frowned. Either Berserker as an immortality Noble Phantasm or the target of that nuke was Saber.
Voyager glared at the crane Archer perched, as the Servant of the Stars looked straight at the Servant of the Bow even with great distance…
Archer himself scoffed, and was not surprised to see Voyager's skill to spot him even from that distance considering his class…
"I have to go." Voyager got on his mount before vanishing.
-xXx-
Saber is not having a good day. Well, she never did.
In every war she has fought, she always had various advantages and disadvantages, but right now she is really missing Merlin's insight and clairvoyance.
While holding Shirou steady, she saw Berserker in the middle of a block worthy of hell as he retreated casually…
Who are these warriors summoned in the war? In the last one, at least two servants were the mysterious ones; both Hassan and Lancelot, but the rest either proclaimed their true names or gave very obvious hints on whose who.
In this one, names are kept tight. Berserker who can revive from the dead, Archer who can bring this kind of stunts, and Voyager.
Saber frowned just as the man on a jackalope arrived and helped prop Shirou up before the redhead vomited.
At first, Saber thought that Voyager was an "Isekai" character of sorts, but that shield with an extremely advanced and portable forcefield with a gravity manipulator just brought him back to the spaceship category.
Could the jackalope be an alien that Voyager's crew domesticated and brought back to Earth?
"Kid, you really have a death wish…" Voyager said with a sigh.
Author's Notes!
Hello guys, welcome to the second chapter!
As you guys can see, the servants are doing a guessing game of identities which I honestly think was a selling point of Fate Stay Night… unlike other adaptations where they shout their names.
Also, I forgot to add in the stats, but Voyager has a unique Charisma skill… Sakura commented on it while Illya was "charmed" by it… but it has nothing to do with Jaune's MILF hunting skills and DILF effect on young girls.
Just a fundamental thing about the Rusted Knight towards generations of children.
ALSO! I rewatched Vol 9. and realized how rusted the armor of Jaune was…
And also, to honor the fact that every hero in FGO are waifus and husbandos, Voyager as a Heroic Spirit doesn't have his haggard and stressed look, but a youthful glow to him… making both look young and mature with his beard and white hair.
Somebody was confused about the Foreigner and Voyager Classing.
They are extremely similar, like if new extra classes come in, it will be like Rider Class and a "Driver Class", or an Archer Class to a "Shooter Class"...
To put it simply, from my own understanding, from a 30-minute video of a FGO YouTube.
Foreigners are basically aliens and gods from space who descend on Earth and possess people. They do this for selfish reasons.
Voyager, the sole Voyager is Voyager 1 of NASA is a gift from humans to space… he travels to other worlds in order to give humanity new knowledge and wonder.
This is what Jaune Arc is. He is a gift to the Ever After, being its first hero and protector, and at the same time, through Lewis, provided wonder to his original world as the Rusted Knight.
Put simply, Foreigners are Invaders. Voyagers are explorers who relay new information and hope to their home worlds.
But I couldn't ever truly understand Foreigners, they are in the realm of "If FGO devs spent their brain power and time on other things, we could have cured cancer."
Even Gigguk has a hard time explaining it.
Finally, I know this is already telling instead of showing, but I will just give it so that other readers will be too confused with Jaune's character. This version of Jaune is the version of the moment before he turned young again. So he made peace with Alyx, defeated CC, said goodbye to Juniper, and spoke with the Lady Blacksmith.
Just wanted to point it out because Jaune had an extreme change when he reached the "Acceptance" stage of his grief.
-xXx-
"To think that houses formerly enemies are now allies and that Rin is finally reunited with her sister."
"..."
"...and that boy. Emiya, oh I think he will be interesting."
"..."
"...is the war not interesting enough for you, Gilgamesh?"
"It is…" the golden-haired man continues to ponder, "To think the pinnacle of Humanity is here."
"Is Voyager a threat?"
"...no" Gilgamesh scoffed, "But what he represents is important. People for a millennium saw the heavens as an impossible realm to reach; only belonging to the gods. But Voyager represents humanity's efforts of leaving their home Star and reaching other worlds."
"I hope you won't be disappointed soon…"
"I hope too."
