Authors Note: I would first like to thank you all for the likes and follow on this story. I intended to push out this update sooner, but I admittedly put it off due to me being lazy. For that, big chapter for you all to feast upon. Hope you enjoy. Any and all reviews are welcome. If you have any particular questions, PM's are open. Now onto the story.
Addressing the reviews left for the first chapter:
GhoulDevil: Your question should be answered by this chapter.
Stephane az: I appreciate the review. While I understand you not liking the trio I have set up, I will work hard for you to like what I have planned for them.
Time flew by like water in a river. The child grew up in the grand castle of Hogwarts, being cared for by only a select few. While the staff at Hogwarts were informed of the child that would grow up on the castle grounds, they were not told of the circumstances surrounding his arrival and what the headmaster witnessed.
Despite most of the staff being in the dark about the child being touched by Death for his own safety, they held a natural aversion to him. No one was able to explain why they simply felt the lack of a need to interact with the child. Out of all the staff in the castle only two of them had a hand in raising the child at first. These two were Hagrid and Minerva McGonagall.
Hagrid having such an easy-going personality and his gentle soul made it a natural choice as to who could care for the child. Minerva, likewise, radiated such a motherly disposition that he would need in life as he grew. The only other person that Naruto spent any significant amount of time around was, surprisingly, none other than the ex-death eater Severus Snape himself.
With the amount of time that Naruto spent with Hagrid, he learned all there was to the fantastic beasts that occupy the same world they live in. In particular, the Hippogriffs tended to mob the young man and Hagrid could not explain why they loved him so. It was a bit of a surprise, and not a great one to be perfectly honest, when they discovered the child could see Thestrals.
Hagrid nearly had a heart attack when the child wandered his way to the coast that surrounds the castle one day and came face to face with a Graphorn. While those beasts tended to attack anything and anyone that wandered into their territory, this Graphorn did something that he had never seen before in his life. The Graphorn took one look at the child, wandered up to him, and bumped its head into Naruto's chest. The thing then laid down and curled up around Naruto, in an almost protective manner. It was this incident that sealed the deal with something that Hagrid suspected about the child. Animals loved the child.
Naruto gravitating towards Minerva wasn't all too much of a surprise. It's been said by many people that she radiates a motherly presence, and she scolds anybody the way a mother would scold her children. Considering he arrived at their world alone and having no one to fill that role for him he simply gravitated towards her. She didn't protest this surprisingly and provided the child with the maternal figure he so desperately needed and desired as an orphaned child. She would scold him when he acted up and would comfort the child when he would suffer from night terrors.
The professor that Dumbledore didn't foresee interacting and raising the child was Snape. Originally Snape had no intention of having a hand in raising the child. After all, why would he have any interest in the stray that Dumbledore picked off the street?
That was his thought process initially.
As he grew older the child began to look like he was born from a noble, magic wielding family himself. He was fair of skin, not pale like those other noble families that hid themselves in their huge manors and rarely visited the outside world. His hair was the most vivid red anyone had ever seen. Not like the Weasley's whose hair was a ginger colored red, but a proper red color not unlike the color of freshly spilled blood. His hair was perfectly straight and when it began to grow longer it fell straight down his back. His eyes were a stunning amethyst color that transitioned into a light blue around the edges of his pupils. All in all, the child looked more like royalty than even the "royal" pure blooded families and would undoubtedly look even more regal as he grew older.
That's when Snape began to show interest in ensuring the child was properly mannered. For if the child would look as regal as the more noble houses of the wizarding world, he may as well be as well-mannered and act the part. Snape would be damned if the child grew up to be unruly and uncivilized. It began to show as the child was growing up to be polite to all in the castle. It didn't matter if it was the lowliest house elf or the headmaster himself. He was polite and kind to all that he spoke to.
All in all, Naruto seemed like the perfect child. How could he not? Having been raised by some of the schools finest tends to leave that impression on most.
The one issue that the child suffers from is a fury most apocalyptic once his temper is fully roused.
Naruto normally is a very patient person. You would have to be when you live in Hogwarts where learning magic of any kind calls for plenty of patience. But push him too far and he is more akin to a sleeping dragon. He will burn you in his fury.
It was a day like any other for Naruto. The now 11-year-old found himself by Hagrid's hut once again playing with a particular Hippogriff. This one was a beautiful grey color. This hippogriff was also a female. She was particularly keen about keeping the child tidy and clean, acting more like a mother hen to him than anything else. She been visiting the child for many years, so much so that Naruto named her. Raincloud was her name.
Today he wasn't particularly keen on playing with her, however. He had more of an interest in going into the Forbidden Forest. He needed to be able to go somewhere where he could not be easily seen for what he had in mind. Raincloud wasn't very happy about him going in however. It was a dangerous place and they both knew it. "Come on girl. I need to go into the forest. If you won't let me, then come with me. I'm going one way or another."
"I would say that you are still not ready to go in. You don't even have a wand yet."
Something that surprised him was learning that there was another entity inhabiting his body at the same time. Kurama, the Nine-Tailed fox, king of the Bijuu. He had met him not that long ago. It was more of an accident really.
He had been so damnably angry when he had seen a Slytherin student being particularly cruel to another, younger, Hufflepuff student. He had intervened and the Slytherin student then hurled at him the most hurtful thing he had heard to date. "Stay out of this orphan boy! Or I might just send you to meet your mommy."
Naruto then proceeded to punch him in the face so hard he fractured something in his jaw and left him knocked out in the courtyard. He then stormed away in a rage. In his rage he wandered to the edge of Hogwarts where the school's grounds met the Forbidden Forest. Upon reaching the edge of the school he let out a roar of primal fury, and with his explosive shout something else exploded out of him.
A red cloak of energy covered him from head to toe. A cloak that almost seemed to be a manifestation of his very rage that he felt burning within him. It burned the very ground he stood on, the plants burned away to wisps of smoke, and the ground fractured and cratered underneath him. But it was all over so soon after it started.
The cloak evaporated from around him as quickly as it appeared. It receded towards his abdominal area and the moment it completely disappeared Naruto fell to his knees, unconscious. As he was being welcomed by the darkness of unconsciousness, he felt as if he was being pulled down into the darkness itself.
It was then he was pulled into the space the seal occupies. He came to know the truth of Kurama, what he was, how he came to be sealed within himself. He shared what he knew about his parents, how they gave their lives up to ensure he would live. Naruto cried a fair bit at that information, just knowing who his parents were and how much they loved him prior to their deaths.
It was after this that Kurama dropped two bombs on him. Naruto was supposed to have been born with chakra, and likely a large amount of it due to his Uzumaki heritage. But somehow, his chakra had been turned into magic. And his magical reserves were growing larger every year. He speculated that he would have more magic than even the headmaster himself.
The chakra of the Bijuu that was supposed to be trickled into his own system, to acclimate him to the chakra of a bijuu, was being absorbed and converted into magic as well. Not only that but it was making his magic stronger and denser as a result.
"You more than likely will be able to wield my chakra. But it will have to be large amounts at a time, so it isn't absorbed quickly. We will have to train you in using it at some later point."
After everything was said and done, there was one question that kept bothering him. "Why did you give me all this so freely? You could have used the knowledge of my parents to hold leverage above me. Force me to free you even." The question hung in the air and Kurama looked down upon Naruto. A being older than even his family, his clan, looked at him and in his eyes, Naruto saw something he didn't expect from the being of power sealed within him.
Grief.
He took in a great breath and released it powerfully. "Contrary to what you might believe, I never hated your clan. Those before your family hated me and believed me to cause nothing but calamity. When Mito sealed me within herself, I understood that it was to stop my rampage at the hands of Madara. I also came to understand later that it was to protect me. Since then, your family has shown me nothing but curtesy. Your mother treated me with great respect. For that, I shall work with you. If you show yourself to be worthy of my respect, then you shall have nothing to fear from me."
With that Kurama ejected Naruto from the space inside the seal and he came back to consciousness. Naruto kept that interaction with the tailed beast inside of him a secret from the adults at Hogwarts. After all, how would he go about explaining to the adults at Hogwarts that there was a being of absolute power sealed within him that could destroy the entire school if let loose?
From there on after Naruto would sneak away towards the Forbidden Forrest to be able to practice in secret drawing upon the Bijuu's power, slowly but surely increasing the amount he could draw upon and not lose himself in the madness that comes with his power. He had spent several painstaking months practicing with the Bijuu's power before he could comfortably use a single tails worth of power without going into a rage.
It was on a cool day in October when Naruto had been called into the headmaster's room for an important matter. He wasn't told initially why he was being called on except that it was imperative that he spoke with Albus about an errand he wanted him to run with Hagrid. So it was with many questions that he arrived at the headmaster's room and upon entering Hagrid had already been there waiting for him. "Ah. Naruto. Perfect timing. I was just letting Hagrid know about the errand that I wanted you to accompany him on."
"Good morning professor. What exactly is the nature of this errand?"
"Well, my boy, you will be accompanying Hagrid in picking up a new student. She was supposed to already be well on her way here, but her family is rather…stubborn about her enrollment here at Hogwarts."
"Does she belong to a muggle family sir? Is that why they are hesitant to let her attend Hogwarts?"
"Not quiet. I will explain everything once she does arrive. Now off you go with Hagrid."
With that Naruto was sent on his way with Hagrid aboard a carriage pulled by Thestrals. To pick up a new student that Albus was rather dodgy about with the details surrounding her. Just another day at Hogwarts I suppose.
The story and main plot will pick up by the next chapter. We will meet The Girl next chapter. And boy do I have plans for that *maniacal laughter*
