CHAPTER 3: THE SPY

The spy was a trusted friend, named Owen, who was trusted so well enough he was allowed in all their secret conversations.

But unknown to them, Owen was reporting all of their whereabouts to Malderoat.

One day, as Asterion went out to look for supplies for Dominia and get fresh air, there was a shout, a scuffle, a thump and then his life was over.

But Gwerdyn had no idea what was happening. She felt the magic connection she had with Asterion sever, which was only possible if he was dead.

The terrible truth dawned on her. Asterion was dead!

"Get out with your hands in the air," a gruff voice ordered. "We've got 15 trained arrows at you, and we're not afraid to use 'em. Don't even think of using magic," he said, voice shaking at the end.

A terrible rage ripped through her heart. These were her beloved's killers. Asterion's killers!

Eyes flaming, she firmly told her children to close their eyes. They did so immediately.

Her body gave off a supernova light, causing the archers to fire their shots blindly, killing off each other.

With a scream of fury, she cursed Malderoat: "may Malderoat experiencece the pain he had inflicted upon me in his life, and may my descendant finish him off!"

The curse's last part was also a prophecy.

Then she disappeared with her children to her now finished realm, Dominia, or the Secret Garden as she liked to called it.

The children lived happily in the realm, but Gwerdyn aged slowly

Day after day, year after year, she looked for a successor, someone that was not one of her children; yet innocent and willing to avenge her and her husband,

Meanwhile, Gwerdyn's curse took place immediatly.

Malderoat's family were killed off, one by one, in some camality after another.

Malderoat's face aged, becoming paler and haunted by the day. His eyes took on a reddish tint.

In fear, Malderoat's kingdome banned him from the kingship because he'd turned so evil.

Because of that, he lived as a nomad, wandering around and raging.

Gwerdyn's children became monarchs of a great generation, much to her comfort,

They made realms for themselves with the help of powerful magic.

Sylvia became the Fairy Queen, creating a beautiful realm, which she called the Fairy Realm.

"What?" Kendra gasped, astonished. "No way!" Eurora grinned. "I know right? Keep reading."

She chose to live as a fairy and made fairies, becoming their mother and first Queen.

Lucien created Reliam, a dark realm, just like him. His descendants were banned away by others to a prison you might've heard of Zzyzx. He was the Demon King.

Bella, who was the tallest among them all made a giant city, now named Titan City and resided there.

One day, as Moonscale, Gwerdyn's near youngest son was experimenting with his magic, he shape-shifted into an enormous creature, unknown to him. Now, it is called a dragon.

Shocked, he panicked and tried to turn himself back, but his magic stuck. Later, he learned to accept himself that way, and even embraced his form.

His descendants were given the power to use their human avatars if they wished, and one of them found the way to become a permanent wizard.

Beltashard dabbled in the dark arts and turned out to be the evilest of them all. He lived in a dark, evil realm called the Underworld. No one could live, or even visit him in the Underworld except for villianous people, and naturally, his family.

He was known as the Underking.

Malderoat became eviler every day, and search for Gwerdyn but never found her.

And Gwerdyn created a prophecy for her avenger that would receive this message.

"Here it is, Kendra," Eurora said, holding a single paper in her hand.

Kendra's heart beat faster as she looked at the paper.

What could the prophecy be about?
