Hello all Storm here with a new chapter! Here we'll be taking a break from any major action, but still seeing some NetBattles. Nothing else more to say other than hope you enjoy the chapter. So, without further ado.

The next day after defeating ElecMan, Naruto and Lan met up with Mayl as they made their way to school with the redhead noticing the annoyed look on Lan's face whenever he looked at Naruto. Along with how the whiskered blonde smirked at the brunette, whenever he did.
"What's the matter, Lan?" Mayl asked, wondering what happened.
"Ask him! He's woken me up three times in the past three days by pouring cold water on me!" Lan said while pointing accusingly at Naruto, with him having once again been woken up to cold water this morning.
"Wait, really?" Asked Mayl, unable to help but smile in amusement, not doubting Naruto would do something like.
"Oh yeah! And I don't know why you're so upset, Lan. You don't have to worry about being late and get a bath at the same time, plus I get some enjoyment from pouring water on you. So it's a win-win." Naruto said with his smirk growing at Lan's annoyance.
"Has anyone ever told you're evil, and stop laughing MegaMan!" Said Lan, turning towards his NetNavi who chuckled in amusement.
"Sorry Lan, but you gotta admit he's right. Besides, I have told you to wake up when your alarm goes off otherwise you will be getting a bath in bed." MegaMan said, always finding it funny how Naruto would wake up his NetOp.
"If it really upsets you that much, Lan, I could try something else." Offered Naruto.
"How about an airhorn! I'm sure that'll get him running!" Roll said with an amused smile.
"You could also try shaking him awake and screaming that he's on fire. That'll definitely work." Added Mayl while smiling as well.
"An electric shock." Bass suggested, finding enjoyment in helping to torment the brunette, much to Lan's disbelief at them giving the Uzumaki new ideas.
"Oh come on! Is no one on my side?!" Lan said, not believing they're enjoying this.
"We are on your side, Lan; all we're doing is making sure you don't have to worry about being late again." Said Naruto with an "innocent" smile.
"Yeah, we're just trying to be good friends, Lan." Mayl said with her own "innocent" smile.
"If this is how you treat friends then I feel sorry for your enemies." Lan said dryly, making the whiskered blonde and redhead chuckle.
"Well look on the bright side, Lan. You'll be able to go back to sleeping in and waking up late, soon enough." Naruto stated, getting Mayl's and Roll's attention.
"Does that mean your home is almost fixed up, Naruto?" Roll asked, making Naruto nod in response.
"Yeah, it'll be done soon. In fact, we'll be able to move back, tomorrow." Replied Naruto, glad that they'll be back at their own home soon enough.
While he and his mother didn't mind staying at the Hikari Residence, it'll still be nice going back to their own house.
"That's great! It's good to hear it's been fixed up and you'll be able to move back in." Mayl said while smiling at the Uzumaki, happy that their house has been repaired.
"And that means I can finally sleep in peace again!" Lan said, relieved he won't have to worry about having water poured on him anymore.
Only to tense when Naruto began chuckling lowly with a dark smirk on his face.
"I wouldn't be so sure about that, Lan. MegaMan knows what to do once I'm gone." Said Naruto, making Lan look between him and MegaMan nervously.
"Wh-what's he talking about? MegaMan, you aren't going to do anything right? Right?!" Said Lan, his nervousness growing when MegaMan merely smiled at him.
"Don't worry about it, Lan." MegaMan said, playing along with the Uzumaki since he and Naruto weren't actually planning anything, but both could agree it's still funny to freak Lan out by making him think they were.
"Enjoy your peace while you can." Bass said, chuckling cruelly, enjoying seeing the human squirm and try to guess what made-up plan they had.
Lan looked at them, freaking out as he tried thinking of what they were going to do, only for Mayl and Roll to start laughing.
"You guys are so mean, but that's still so funny!" Roll said in between laughs, much to Lan's disbelief.
"They aren't serious, Lan! They're just trying to freak you out!" Revealed Mayl, causing Naruto and MegaMan to start laughing as well, while the Black Shadow had a small smirk.
"…I repeat, you're evil!" Lan said to Naruto, knowing he would never have been able to sleep peacefully believing something was going to happen.
"You say that like it's a bad thing!" Naruto said, only for him and Mayl to suddenly be pushed aside when Dex rode up on his own scooter and got between them.
"Naruto! We're having a rematch today, after school!" Said Dex, glaring at the whiskered blonde, intending to get even against Naruto and Bass for defeating him and GutsMan last time.
But not only that, Dex still didn't like how Mayl went out on a date with Naruto yesterday before ElecMan's attack. Which was only reinforced when he saw how close the two of them were together before quickly getting in between them. So he didn't only want to get even for their defeat, but he'll also show how much better he is to Mayl, too.
"You sure about that Dex?" Naruto asked with a raised brow.
"Yes! Because now GutsMan is stronger and faster than ever! And this'll show only I'm worthy to take Mayl out on a date, not you!" Dex said, causing Naruto and Mayl to lose control of their board and scooter for moment in shock and embarrassment at the declaration.
"Wh-what?! We never even went out on a date!" Mayl said, having no idea where Dex would think that.
"Yeah right, Masa said you were together and going on a date! Well I'm not having it, so we're battling after school to show that GutsMan is the strongest NetNavi and that Mayl can do better!" Said Dex, only embarrassing Naruto and Mayl further.
'Damnit Masa!' Thought Naruto and Mayl, mentally cursing the fisherman for saying that.
"Are you really going to take that, Naruto? Dex is challenging you in front of your girlfriend." Lan said with a smirk, much to their shock.
"Gi-gi-gi-g-gi-girlfriend?!" Stuttered Mayl, blushing brightly in embarrassment at the idea.
"N-no-no-no-no! It's not like that, we weren't on a date and we aren't together like that, either!" Said Naruto, only for Lan to laugh.
"Hey, it's fine, you probably want to keep it all a secret, but you shouldn't have to worry about who finds out. I mean, I've known you two the longest and it's pretty obvious you two like each other, so there's nothing to be embarrassed about." Said Lan, making their embarrassment grow along with their blushes.
'Revenge! Revenge is mine!' Lan thought, mentally laughing at getting payback on Naruto for how he's been waking him up the past few days.
And to it even better is that he isn't far off with his teasing. Due to being childhood friends with Naruto and Mayl, Lan had been able to notice signs that they do care for each other more than friends. Even if they aren't aware of it themselves, just yet.
"That's it! I'm going to crush you in our rematch!" Dex said as his jealousy spiked at Lan's words, fully intending to crush Naruto and Bass in their rematch.
"RAAAAAAHHH! GutsMan will destroy Forte! Forte probably trying to pursue Roll, too! But GutsMan won't let him!" GutsMan shouted, believing Bass is trying to pursue Roll too like Naruto's pursuing Mayl, only for the former Solo NetNavi to scoff at the idea.
"Your head must be emptier than I thought if you'd even suggest something as foolish as that." Stated Bass, with Roll nodding in agreement.
"Yeah, that would never happen. If anything I've come to see Forte more as the rebellious brother, who I occasionally need to put in his place when he gets too arrogant." Roll said while smirking at Bass, who narrowed his eyes at her before smirking.
"Of course, dear sister. Besides, I'm sure we both know you'd be more likely to kiss my NetOp than anyone else." Bass said, causing Roll to stumble and blush brightly at the accusation.
"Wh-what?! No! No, no, no, no, no! I would never do that!" Said Roll while rapidly shaking her head.
"Whatever you say. Though I know if you could somehow find a way to manifest in the real world or if he ended up in CyberWorld, that'd be the first thing you would do. Deny it all you wish; we know the truth." Said Bass, relishing in the pink NetNavis embarrassment.
"No! No, no, no, no, a thousand times no! You are just trying to change the subject!" Roll said while her blush only got worse.
"I don't know, Roll. Remember everything you said about Naruto before, with how much you were complimenting and praising him. You were really talking highly about someone you claim is just a friend. Unless there's something else you want to share?" MegaMan asked with a teasing smile, embarrassing Roll even further.
"Oh yes, by all means share everything else you wish to say about him. There's nothing to be embarrassed about in having a crush. Or is it more? Go on, tell everyone how you really feel." Said Bass with a smirk, enjoying the chance to get back at Roll for all her prior taunting.
Only for the Black Shadow to stop and frown at his own behavior, how he was actually…teasing someone rather than taunting or insulting them.
'What is happening to me?' Bass thought, beginning to notice a shift in his personality, wondering when and how this was happening.
While Naruto's and Mayl's faces were now completely red from the teasing and now the insinuation that Roll also liked the Uzumaki. With Lan grinning widely, enjoying the embarrassment they were suffering, while Dex and GutsMan were both now glaring at Naruto.
"That's it! No more games, no more stalling! We're battling after school, and we will destroy you!" Dex said, now fully intending to completely crush Naruto and Bass.
"Guts! Guts! Guts! Guts! GutsMan is going to crush Naruto for going after Roll too!" Added GutsMan, now under the belief he's pursuing Roll along with Mayl.
With Naruto soon shaking his head and worked to regain his composure, before turning to Dex.
"While normally I'd accept the challenge, I can't. Since I have work after school and then after that I need to get back to Lan's house so I can help my mom with the packing since we're focusing on moving back into our home, tomorrow. But if I have the time and energy after the move, then we can have a NetBattle. And if not, then we can have one on Friday after I'm done at work, or on Saturday after school." Naruto replied, willing to NetBattle Dex then since he's going to be busy today and tomorrow.
"Hn, fine. But don't try to weasel your way out, again!" Said Dex, reluctantly accepting that they'll need to wait to have their rematch.
'That will be my chance.' Bass thought while narrowing his eyes at his NetOp, knowing once they return to his home, that will be his chance to begin looking into his family.
With how his father and grandfather were once affiliated with SciLab, the skill Naruto had in programming and Navi Customization, and his own general distrust of humans. Bass was determined to find as much information as he can about his NetOp and his family once he and Kushina returned to their home. Intending to find just what his NetOp is hiding to determine his next course of action, depending on what he finds.
*Later*
It wasn't long before the four arrived at DenTech Academy and made a beeline straight to homeroom, arriving just in time as class was about to begin.
"Glad to see all four of you here today and on time." Mari said, looking at the four, before focusing on Naruto, Mayl and Dex.
"However, you three will need to make-up for the school work you missed yesterday. Which will be added to your homework for today." Added Mari, making the three groan in chagrin at having more homework to do.
"Good thing we at least asked Lan about the homework we had yesterday." Mayl said to Naruto, who nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, so at least it won't be so bad." Said Naruto, glad that they were able to get that out of the way.
"What?! You guys asked Lan about yesterday's homework?! Oh man!" Said Dex, smacking his head against his desk, knowing this'll just add to the workload he'll already have after school.
*Later*
"See you, guys! And have a good day at work, Naruto. Hopefully without dealing with any more Viruses or NetNavis this time!" Mayl said waving to the boys as she rode her scooter home.
"Same goes for you, Mayl!" Replied Naruto, returning the wave and got on his board.
"See you Lan, Dex, I'll be back later to help my mom with the packing." Naruto said, waving to them as well before heading off to Sal's flower shop.
Leaving, Lan and Dex waving to their friends before Lan smirked at Dex.
"Hey Dex, since Naruto won't be NetBattling today, how about you try taking on me and MegaMan." Said Lan, eager for the chance to battle Dex again and finally beat him this time.
"Heh, you still aren't tired of losing. Alright, I guess you'll make a good warmup for me and GutsMan when we beat Naruto and Forte. Just don't be surprised if this battle ends even faster than usual." Dex replied with a smirk, confident that the upgrades he gave GutsMan will let him win faster than before.
"Trust me, it'll be quick alright." Lan said with a smirk before they took off towards the arcade.
*With Naruto*
Naruto soon arrived at Sal's flower shop and walked inside, only to be surprised when he saw Miyu sitting at a table with a book and a cup of tea.
"Miyu? What're you doing here?" Naruto asked, not expecting to see her here today.
"It was a rather slow day at the shop, today. So I decided to close up for the day and came here to spend some time with Sal, as well as enjoy some tea." Replied Miyu while taking a sip of her tea, making the Uzumaki nod in response before he went up to the counter where Sal was.
"Glad to see you, Naruto. You can get started on watering the plants. There are also some that need to be put into pots of fresh soil once you're done watering." Sal said, pointing towards the plants that needed to be moved to new pots.
"Right, I'll get started on watering." Said Naruto before grabbing a watering can and getting started on watering the plants.
Though as he watered the plants, Naruto glanced at Miyu a few times as she read her book before looking away when she glanced up at him.
"I take it you have something you wish to ask me." Miyu stated, making Naruto smile sheepishly.
"Uh, yeah sorry for staring. And I did want to ask something about your fortune telling. You can get visions of the future, right?" Naruto asked, with the bluenette nodding in response.
"That's correct; however, despite what everyone seems believe, my readings are not always clear and they are not always correct. I can only receive brief glimpses of a person and something that will happen to them." Miyu replied, knowing her abilities weren't perfect and she could be wrong at times.
"How would one of your readings be wrong?" Asked Naruto, fully aware of Miyu's of always being right with her predictions which made him wonder how her visions could be wrong at times.
"Those mainly depend on the people who I give readings to. Who they are, their personality, what they do, how they react to the readings I give. For those that come to me expecting what I see to be true, then it most likely will come true, as well as those that try to avoid my predictions from coming true only for them to inadvertently cause the events that lead to it becoming true. It's because those two groups usually end up being my clients that I developed the reputation that I have. However, there are those that don't believe in what I see and sometimes they'll prove capable of changing things, making it so what I saw is wrong. There are also times where I can see things clearly enough that I can interfere and change the outcome, if I so wish." Explained Miyu, having dealt with plenty of different people and got good at being able to determine who will get true predictions and who won't.
"Is that what made you interested in the supernatural and opening up an antique shop? Your ability to predict the future?" Naruto asked curiously.
"Partially. I've always had an interest in the supernatural and history behind antiques. As with how technology is constantly advancing, it's interesting to learn of the connections it has to the supernatural, such as ghost-like Viruses and NetNavis." Miyu said with the whiskered blonde nodding at her response, before he turned towards Sal.
"What about you, Sal? Have you always enjoyed taking care of plants?" Said Naruto, making the greenette smile slightly.
"I have. Like Miyu and her interest in the supernatural, I've always loved nature, all the different plants, flowers, trees, everything there is to know about them. So I make sure to do everything I can to help protect and care for nature, especially with nature reserves to make sure they remain untouched since it's not just plant life but also animals that live within them. So making sure they're safe is important to me. Which is also why I make sure to use some of the money I make from my shop for different nature conservation activities and other environmental protection organizations." Sal said, making Naruto smile at her words.
"That's really great, especially with using your money to help support activities and organizations like that." Naruto stated, with Sal smiling and nodding in thanks.
"Thank you, Naruto." Said Sal before looking at him curiously.
"Why the sudden interest in asking us about ourselves?" Sal asked, with Miyu also looking at him in interest.
"I just wanted to take the chance to get to know you both better since while I've visited both of your shops plenty of times in the past, I never did really get to know you both. So I'm hoping I'll be able to change that while working here." Said Naruto, smiling at the greenette and bluenette, surprising them before they both smiled at the Uzumaki.
"Then I'll be happy to tell you anything you want to know." Said Sal, not minding if Naruto wanted to ask about her.
"Agreed, you are free to ask me anything you wish." Miyu added, willing to answer any questions he had.
"Thanks. And the same goes for both of you, if there's anything you want to ask me." Naruto replied, wanting to also answer any questions they'd have as well.
Though before any of them could say anything else, the heat lamps set up for the plants suddenly began flickering on and off or began getting too bright and hot.
"Is something wrong with the power?" Naruto asked upon seeing the lights, only to yelp when the sprinklers for the plants suddenly turned on and began spraying water everywhere, much to Sal's annoyance.
"Ugh! Not again!" Sal said in annoyance at seeing the lights and sprinklers were going haywire.
"What's going on?! Are Viruses doing this?!" Said Naruto as he tried turning the sprinklers off, only to end up getting blasted with water.
"Yes! You'll need to jack-in and delete them to get everything to stop! If you can deal with the ones in the lights, I'll get the ones in the sprinklers!" Said Sal, with Naruto nodded in response before he rushed over to the controls for the lights.
"Jack-in! Forte, power up!" Naruto said, jacking into the light controls and sending Bass in.
*CyberWorld*
Appearing in CyberWorld, Bass saw numerous Viney, Popper and KillPlant Viruses everywhere, leeching off of the power from the lights.
"How fitting, the Viruses here are nothing more than weeds." Bass stated upon seeing none of them were truly dangerous or a threat.
"Then this seems like a good time to see what else you can do with the Pyrokinesis you got from TorchMan, along with your Heat Blade." Said Naruto, making the Black Shadow smirk eagerly the idea.
"Indeed. Heat Blade!" Said Bass while creating his Heat Blade as it glowed red hot, though Bass didn't stop there as he called in his Pyrokinesis to empower his sword.
His smirk growing as soon it was engulfed in black and purple flames.
"What did TorchMan say before? Time to bring things to a boil!" Bass said, swinging his sword and unleashing a wave of flames at the Viruses, incinerating multiple KillPlant and Viney Viruses while the Poppers quickly retreated into the air at the sight of the fire.
Now seeing the NetNavi attacking them, the Viruses all began launching attacks at Bass with the KillPlants all spitting seeds out at him. Only for Bass to jump out of the way before the Viney had vines shoot out of the ground towards Bass. Swinging his Heat Blade, Bass sliced through the vines with ease before the Poppers suddenly dropped down from the air.
The Poppers immediately created dozens of wood towers that homed in on Bass, making him narrow his eyes before holding out his other hand.
"Fire Arm!" Bass said while unleashing a jet of fire at the wooden spikes, reducing them to ash, before turning his attention to the Poppers only for them to retreat into the air again.
"Forte! Try shooting fire out of your feet to propel yourself into the air!" Said Naruto, with Bass raising a brow at the suggestion.
Channeling his flames to his feet, Bass was surprised when it worked at jets of fire shot out of his feet, launching him high into the air. Before he smirked eagerly as he closed the distance with the Poppers, ready to cut them into the pieces.
"Now try using Burning Body while spinning in the air!" Naruto said, seeing a way for them to wipe out the Poppers all at once.
"Alright! Burning Body!" Said Bass, spinning in the air while releasing a large amount of flames from his body.
Only for the fire to begin rotating with him until soon it had become a massive tornado of fire, with it forcefully pulling the Poppers to it, vaporizing them on contact. Before Bass dispersed the flames and began falling back down to the ground. With the KillPlants shooting more seeds up at him, while the Viney dug their vines into the ground and launched them up at the Black Shadow.
Holding his Heat Blade up, Bass channeled his flames through it again, this time using even more causing the entire sword to turn jet-black with black and purple flames swirling around it.
"Darkness Flame Sword!" Bass said, swinging his blade and releasing a massive wave of fire, reducing anything it touched to ashes.
With the wave continuing past the Viruses attacks, crashing right into the ground, incinerating dozens of the Viruses at once while Bass landed on the ground, smirking at the destruction his attack caused. Only to frown in annoyance at seeing some of the Viruses had still survived the fire.
"Forte, now try manipulating your flames into this." Said Naruto, bringing up a picture that flashed before Bass's eyes, causing his smirk to return.
Dismissing his Heat Blade, Bass held out his right arm and began concentrating, calling on as much of his fire as he could. Gritting his teeth as black and purple flames began flickering around his arm, swirling around it and gathering in the palm of his hand. With the Black Shadow focusing on collecting the fire into a single point, even as the swirling flames around his arm grew in intensity.
"Now unleash it!" Naruto said once he saw Bass had gathered enough flames.
Bass let out a shout as he pulled his arm back before thrusting his fist forward, unleashing a large blast of fire. With it seeming to begin changing shape into something else, only for it to begin destabilizing, returning to a column of fire that impacts the Viruses. Exploding once it hit one, engulfing all of the remaining Viruses in a fiery explosion.
"It didn't work." Bass said in annoyance the attack failed, as while it did wipeout the remaining Viruses, it didn't do what he wanted.
"I kind of figured it wouldn't work on the first try, since it is a really powerful attack that's not just shooting out a blast of fire. But that just means we need to practice and work on it." Said Naruto, knowing if Bass could master the attack then it could powerful enough to instantly logout an NetNavi, if not outright delete them.
"Yes." Muttered Bass while looking at his hand, desiring to perfect the attack and use something so powerful.
"Where exactly did you learn about such a move?" Bass asked, having never heard of a NetNavi capable of doing something like this.
"I tell you when we get home, along with all the other ideas I have for the different ways you could use your Pyrokinesis, as well as your Electrokinesis once we start working on that. But for now, absorb the Bugs left behind by the Viruses and logout since we're done." Naruto replied, making Bass frown in annoyance before he began absorbing the Bugs, feeling the repairs growing and more of his strength returning.
Logging out not long after he finished absorbing the last of them.
*Real World*
Jacking out of the light controls, Naruto was relieved at seeing the lights returning to normal, along with seeing the sprinkles were now off.
"Thanks for the help, Naruto. While those Viruses aren't really tough, if they aren't dealt with fast enough then they start causing problems." Sal said, before Miyu came over and handed them some towels.
"Here you go. I've helped Sal deal with Viruses like that a few times before, including getting soaked with water, so I know she keeps some towels here just in case." Said Miyu upon seeing Naruto's questioning look, making the whiskered blonde nod and take the towel.
"Thanks Miyu. And it's no problem, Sal. Though does this happen often?" Naruto asked while looking at the greenette, who sighed in annoyance.
"It happens every once in a while, Viney, Poppers, KillPlants and other plant-based Viruses are drawn to flower shops like mine, feeding off the systems used to care for the plants. They're basically the weeds of the Net, no matter how many you delete they keep showing up. But like I said, they aren't that strong, so as long as they're handled quickly it's not too much of a problem dealing with them. The real problem is cleaning up the messes they make in the shops." Said Sal as she looked around to see the mess from the malfunctioning systems.
"Then we better get started, huh." Naruto stated, with Sal nodding in agreement as they went and grabbed some mops to wipe up the water.
"I'll help as well." Offered Miyu, much to Naruto's and Sal's gratitude as they began cleaning up the shop.
*Arcade*
Meanwhile, Lan and Dex had soon arrived at the arcade and headed for an arena, both of them ready to begin their NetBattle.
"Hope you're ready for another loss, Lan. Jack-in! GutsMan, power up!" Dex said, jacking into the arena.
"Don't count on it, Dex! Jack-in! MegaMan, power up!" Said Lan while jacking in as well, both of them sending their NetNavis into the arena.
*Arena*
MegaMan and GutsMan appeared across from each other in the arena, both Navis just as ready as their NetOps.
"What? You think having a shrimpy NetNavi like Naruto's means you'll get lucky like he did?" Dex said, smirking at seeing how small MegaMan was compared to GutsMan.
"He's not shrimpy, he's MegaMan! And he's just as strong as Forte!" Said Lan, which only made Dex's smirk widen.
"Then that just means I know we'll beat him after beating you! GutsMan, show blue boy whose best!" Dex said with GutsMan pounding on his chest.
"Guts! Guts! GutsMan is the best!" GutsMan said before charging at MegaMan.
"Bring it on! Mega Buster!" Said MegaMan, creating his Mega Buster and firing at GutsMan.
Only for MegaMan and Lan to both be shocked when GutsMan vanished in a burst of speed, dodging his shots. Before hearing a crash and quickly looked where it came from, only to cry out when GutsMan slammed right into MegaMan, sending him crashing into a wall.
"MegaMan! Since when can GutsMan move that fast?!" Lan said in disbelief, while Dex laughed loudly.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That's thanks to the speed boost program I gave GutsMan! Now he's not just the strongest NetNavi, but the fastest too! Now let's crush him GutsMan! Guts Hammer! Battle Chip in, download!" Dex said inserting a Battle Chip while GutsMan's hands combined and transformed into a hammer.
"Guts Hammer!" GutsMan shouted, slamming his hammer hands into the ground and sending a shockwave towards MegaMan.
"Show them what you can do, MegaMan! Spreader! Battle Chip in, download!" Said Lan, putting in a Battle Chip.
"Oh yeah!" MegaMan said, jumping out of the way of the shockwave while aiming the blaster at GutsMan.
"Spreader!" Said MegaMan, releasing a volley of blasts at GutsMan.
"Get out of there, GutsMan!" Dex said with GutsMan speeding out of the blasts, only for MegaMan to keep firing at him.
"Use this GutsMan! Guts Punch! Battle Chip in, download!" Said Dex, inserting a Battle Chip.
With GutsMan quickly slamming his fist into the ground, turning around with his momentum while his other fist grew much larger.
'Wait…' MegaMan thought, seeing the way GutsMan stopped his movements.
"Guts…Punch!" GutsMan said, launching himself straight at MegaMan with his enlarged fist ready to crush the blue NetNavi.
"Area Steal! Battle Chip in, download!" Lan said as he quickly used a Battle Chip, causing MegaMan to teleport away, just as GutsMan would've smashed into him.
Appearing in the air, MegaMan quickly looked around the arena, before noticing a wall that looked like something crashed into it.
'There! That's what I heard before GutsMan hit me! He might be fast, but it doesn't look like he's very good at slowing down once he starts!' MegaMan thought, smirking as he saw GutsMan's fist smash right through another wall.
"Now's your chance, MegaMan! Dash Attack! Buster Sword! Battle Chips in, download!" Said Lan, putting in two Battle Chips, with a sword emerging from MegaMan's Mega Buster.
"Here goes!" MegaMan said, grabbing the Fishy Virus that was summoned before flying towards GutsMan in a burst of speed.
"Get out of the way GutsMan!" Dex said, with GutsMan struggling to remove his arm from the wall before soon succeeding and quickly sped away.
"Lan! Area Steal now!" Said MegaMan, seeing GutsMan speeding away in a straight line.
"Right! Area Steal! Battle Chip in, download!" Lan said, sliding the Battle Chip in, with MegaMan vanishing from sight.
Only to just as quickly reappear in front of GutsMan with his Buster Sword at the ready, making the large NetNavis eyes widen.
"Try dodging now!" MegaMan said, swinging his sword at GutsMan with the large NetNavi crying out as the sword slashed him launching him back.
"What?!" Said Dex in shock that he was able to hits GutsMan.
"Alright! Way to go MegaMan!" Lan cheered, seeing what his Navi had planned.
"Get up! Get up GutsMan! We can't lose to another little wimp!" Dex said, not wanting to end up losing to another tiny NetNavi.
"Sorry Dex, but here it goes! Shotgun! Battle Chip in, download!" Said Lan, using another Battle Chip while MegaMan's arm transformed into a blaster before aiming it at GutsMan and charged up the blast.
Only for the large NetNavi to manage to get up and speed out of the way, only for MegaMan and Lan to smirk at the sight.
"Now it's over! Dash Attack! Battle Chip in, download!" Lan said, putting in the Battle Chip as another Fishy Virus materialized and swooped down to pick MegaMan up before vanishing in a burst of speed.
Reappearing right in front of GutsMan with his Mega Buster pointing right at his face, much to GutsMan's shock and nervousness, feeling like everything was now going slowly for him.
"Boom." MegaMan said before firing the charged shot, launching GutsMan through the air as he was logged out.
"GutsMan logging out."
*Real World*
"Alright! We did it, MegaMan!" Lan cheered, ecstatic that they were able to beat Dex and GutsMan..
"NOOOOOO! GutsMan! Not again!" Dex cried, not believing they lost again even with the speed boost.
"It was a good battle, GutsMan. But maybe lose the speed boost. While it might be a good surprise, a Navi like you just can't handle moving that fast." Said MegaMan, knowing GutsMan would only put himself on a disadvantage with that kind of speed.
"GutsMan…told you…so…Dex…" GutsMan said dizzily in the PET, still feeling his head ringing from the blast.
"I thought it would work!" Said Dex, while Lan smirked and patted him in the back.
"Better luck next time, Dex. But until then, thanks for the warmup for when I have my rematch with Naruto." Said Lan, making the larger boy cry harder at his own words being used against him.
So, what did you think, good. Yep we see Naruto, Mayl and Lan heading to school, with Lan being upset at once again being woken up via cold water, much to the amusement of Naruto and Mayl along with their NetNavis. Before Dex arrives and challenges Naruto to a rematch, while still being under the impression Naruto and Mayl were on a date, much to their embarrassment, not helped by Lan's teasing. With being worse when Bass teases Roll at having feelings for Naruto, while also being confused at his own actions, now noticing how he seems to be changing.
With Naruto declining Dex's challenge due to having work and then helping Kushina pack so they can move back into their home now that it's repaired, but offers to have a battle another time. Before they arrive at the Academy, where Naruto, Mayl and Dex have to make-up the school work they missed much to their chagrin.
Then we go to after school and see Mayl heading home, Lan and Dex to the arcade to have their own rematch, and Naruto going to work where he see Miyu there after closing her shop for the day. Leading to Naruto taking the chance to learn more about Miyu and Sal, wanting to know more about them with how long they've known each other. Before he and Sal have to deal with some Viruses in the lights and sprinklers, with Naruto and Bass taking the chance to test out his Pyrokinesis and see what he can really do with it.
Finally we see Lan's and Dex's NetBattle, with Lan and MegaMan initially being taken by surprise at GutsMan's boost in speed, only to come out the winners due to GutsMan not being able to really utilize his speed boost thanks to his size. So, for those that like the story, thanks for your support. For those that don't or at least don't like the direction taken, you're more than welcomed to drop the story. But thanks for giving the story a chance anyway.
