Ok, this is not my first story, but it is my first BL, so try to be patient with me.

I want this to be a long story, and I would like to summit a new chapter every month along with my other stories. Let's see if I make it!

Obviously, I do not own S8 Infinite or any of its characters, because if I was, nothing would be ambiguous and matchablooson would be as much canon as a sunrise every day. That said, I eventually would like to make some more steamy chapters, but for the beginning it would be very tame. I would be using the dub show as a reference more than the original , because it was just hilarious.

Let's go!

Chapter 1: New winds under the same sky

It was early morning in Okinawa, the stores were opening, the busy salary men and women were boarding the trains to their mundane office jobs, never sure of at what time they would get back, not so different from the young students heading to their boring schools. And between those simple lives, two boys were making the best out of their little space of freedom that was their way to high school.

Riding their skateboards through the noisy city, the annoyed cars and the narrow streets, Reki and Langa slided and did their tricks they always practiced together in the skate park. This route was also training, if they got to pass through the cars without falling or getting caught by the police, then avoiding the obstacles and tricky competitors at S, the underground secret skate competition, would be an easy peasy.

"Reki, this way!" Langa shouted at Reki to turn right on an alley, he was getting good at finding new secret passages, so the journey to school never gets boring. Langa jumped on a trash can on the side to gain height and did a perfect Ollie.

"Oh right! That's what I'm talking about!" Reki cheered behind him, which made Langa laugh in pure joy while landing, like he was doing more frequently lately.

With the beginning of the new school year, it was easy to see there was something different about his best friend, and the truth is, Reki was very happy about it. When he first met Langa he was such a shy and quiet boy, so uninterested about school, friends and, well, everything, but after that whole exciting year knowing each other by teaching about skating and S, Reki was capable of see the true Langa, a kind and cheerful boy, who got buried in the depression caused by the death of his beloved father, but now he was finding his way back in the joy of living. If it was thanks to someone that Langa was able to get back his happy healthy self, it was Reki. It was not an easy journey, they both faced many obstacles in the way: heavy competitors, insecurities and the judgment from other people, but right now, skating on his way to school, seeing his bestie with a big smile, Reki was grateful for all those hard times.

Langa turned to look at Reki one more time "It's time to go to class!" He said, giving him one of his secret smiles, that's what Reki called them, because he never saw Langa making that expression in front of anyone else, not even in front of his friends and mentors Joe and Cherry Blossom. The concept of that smile was something that left the red headed boy kind of confused lately. He first saw it when Langa had won a race against Adam, or better say, THE race against Adam, the race that made him the official champion of S (still undefeated). Ever since that day, Langa has been giving him those furtive glares from time to time when they were alone, he was not sure what was so special about them, yet every time Langa smiled for him, Reki felt a little warm inside. Ever more, the more Langa used that charming expression on him, the more affected Reki, to the point that when he received it at that moment, Reki felt his cheeks a little red for an instant, not sure of what it meant to him, in the back of his mind he thought this new feeling needed to be meditated, but he always ended up deciding to shake it off and keep it for another day, that was so real for him to deal at the moment.

…..

"Hey, has someone seen Hasegawa?" A guy entering the classroom asked.

"Langa? He said he wanted one more loaf of bread before class starts" Said Reki while he was looking at some new designs he was working on the night before.

"Oh, man! What am I going to do? I hope he doesn't cross paths with Saeki-chan from class B."

"It's unavoidable, my friend, you better look for another dream girl." Another student behind him commented with mockery.

"What are you guys talking about?" Reki asked, puzzled about his classmate's observations.

"My dude it's sad because Saeki-chan wants to date Hasegawa instead of him."

"What? No way!" Reki shouted in surprise. "How do you guys know that?"

"Everybody knows, Reki." Said one of the guys in a tone that said it was too obvious.

"You know, a lot of girls have had a crush on Hasegawa since last year, but never dared to get close to him for how cold he used to look, but since now he acts more open to people, a lot of them have been talking about confessing their feelings."

"Wow, I never saw that coming," Reki was readjusting his mind around this new information. But it makes sense, Langa is a cool guy, and girls love foreigners, and he is quite attractive. Reki was so lost in his train of thought he had forgotten about his classmates just talking to him.

"What's wrong, Reki? Are you jealous of your friend having more luck with the ladies than you?" The mocking student teased him.

"O-of course not!" Said the energetic skater, now obviously embarrassed. "I don't care if he gets a girlfriend before me! It's not a competition, and besides, I'm way too busy to think about dating, it's not like I never had an opportunity to talk to a cute girl before!" he said looking at the floor, unable to see his classmates after such a bluff. It was so clear it was a lie the other guys started laughing.

"Come on, don't feel sad! You are the one in the best position of all of us. Just think about it, when Hasegawa gets a girlfriend, she is gonna introduce you to all of her cute single friends." The mocker said, trying to cheer him up. Yet it was not working on Reki at all, there was a sudden strange feeling entering on him, and he was not sure what exactly was the problem. Langa dating? He tried to picture his handsome best friend starting to put him aside to hang on with a girlfriend, and the simple concept of that felt so weird he ended up laughing a little.

"Sorry, guys, but I know my friend, and he would not be interested in a chick unless she is the one bringing him a cheeseburger or some poutine, and the second he gets it he is gonna forget about her, that's how much attention he could pay to something like that." Reki said more relieved now that he realized that major flaw in his classmate's speculations. "Now, if you excuse me, I got the munchies for a salty snack."

Reki left the classroom with a carefree attitude, still chuckling a little about the idea of Langa falling in love. If Langa were with a girl, he would forget about calling her even on her birthday. He thought, and yet, the relief he felt was still a confusing situation for him. Why did he feel this way? Was he getting jealous of Langa again? He was sure he was not, in fact, he had promised himself not ever let his insecurities get in the way of his relationship with Langa like it happened when the blue-haired kid improved so fast at skating that Reki felt left behind. He was not afraid to admit Langa was way better than him at skating, and of course he was way more popular with the girls, he was cute and handsome, Reki already knew that. His mind froze for an instant, it was the second time of the day he admitted to himself he found Langa attractive, was that normal? It must be. Objectively speaking, Langa is good looking, he was just stating the facts, nothing more.

Reki's train of thought stopped when he turned around the hallway and saw Langa's back from a window, he was outside the building, just a few meters away from each other, so he thought about calling him, but then he noticed he was not alone, he was talking to a girl, a really cute one with a blushing smile. His realization was so sudden Reki could not avoid hearing a little of the conversation they were having.

"You know, Hasegawa-san, I always thought you were such a nice person." The girl said a little shy, but determined in what she was saying.

"Oh, ok" Langa simply answered.

"And the way you are always skating is so cool!"

"Thanks…"

That compliment felt like ice cold water running through Reki's spine. The red-haired boy turned around and ran away as fast as he could to anywhere but there. He was not sure why he was doing that, why he felt in panic, but as long as he kept running, he didn't have to think about it, yet his mind couldn't stop repeating that scene he just witnessed: the cute girl, her blushing small face, Langa's back, and his short answers. Why was he talking to her? What did he just say to her? Thanks. Reki remembered at the same time his foot got stuck with a broom and fell on the ground.

"Ow!" Reki said as he touched his bruised arm. He looked around, he was alone in the school's patio, he must have gotten there while running, not that he remembered, all he could think about was his best friend and that girl.

"Who does she think she is? She liked the way he skates? Langa has never shown his full potential around here, she doesn't know anything about him, such a bluffer!" The young skater mumbled still on the ground, about to have some kind of panic reaction. "Langa, what were you doing with her? Is that really the type of girl you want?"

The last sentence he muttered made him realize how petty he sounded. His best friend could be getting his first girlfriend right now, and instead of being happy for him, he was judging him like that? What was wrong with him? Why was he acting so jealous? And worst of all, what was so jealous of? Of Langa getting a chick first? Did Reki want her to confess to him?

"No…" He answered to himself, he didn't want that girl. He liked girls, of course, he was a teenager, he was in the age he is supposed to think about them, but when he pictured that one student talking to Langa like that, he didn't think of attraction towards her, he was just annoyed, that whole conversation was bothering him. He didn't want Langa to hang up with her, he didn't want Langa to hang up with any girl who could possibly take his friend away from him. Why was he being like that?

Finally, Reki decided to stand up and walk back slowly to his classroom, lunch was almost over, and he needed to regain some composure before appearing in front of his peers. Yet he was not sure how to face his friend. Surprisingly, he faced the situation sooner than he expected.

"There you are!" A voice in front of him said. When Reki raised his gaze he found himself facing Langa "I knew I saw you pass here."

"Langa, what are you doing here?"

"I was looking for you, Reki. What else?" Langa reached into his pocket and took off a small package. "I bought a meat bun for you and a red bean one for me, we can still eat them before the next lecture."

"But I thought you were with….!" Reki stopped himself to calm the desperation of his tone, and after gain some composure he continued "I mean, I saw you talking to a girl just a while ago"

"Oh, yeah, she said her name was Saeko or something." Langa answered very uninterested.

"Yeah, Saeki, didn't she want something?" Reki asked, trying to hide his annoyance.

"It was nothing, she just asked me to go out." Langa answered as if it was nothing.

"Nothing! How could you say it was just nothing?" Reki asked, losing his chill again. "A cute girl just asked you out, Why are you so calm?"

Langa stood quiet for a second while looking at his attonished friend.

"Reki, I rejected her."

"what!" Reki stood there with his mouth hanging on his face. Langa gave him a small chuckle, almost as if this whole situation was slightly hilarious for him.

"Yeah, I mean, it's not like I'm not flattered, but I'm not interested in dating her, we both are way too busy with school and our part time job and then we have to keep training for S." Reki kept staring at Langa, his explanation sounded too similar to Reki's, but he can hear how Langa's actually sounded convincing, probably because he was noy lying in the first place.

Whatever was the reason, Reki was now facing a new feeling on him: he was glad, and extremely relieved by his best friend's answer, but that combination also made him guilty and worried. Why did he care so much about Langa's answer, it was really normal to be so demanding of his friend's time?

But the response didn't matter for Reki right now, Langa was truly happy with the decision he took, that was enough for him, and now he could be truly supportive of him without putting his tangled emotions in the middle.

"Well alright, Langa," Reki hung his arm over Langa's shoulder in a close and friendly manner. "If you really are that eager to improve your technique, maybe you should try this new improvement I've been working for your skateboard, I call it The Rekimaster." He then took a big bite of his meat bun.

"For real? That sounds amazing, Reki! I can't wait for our classes to end."

"Yeah, yeah, just don't come crying when she turns out to be the only girl who ever confesses to you."

"I don't think I would mind if it ends like that." Langa commented with an uncomfortable expression "We just talked to each other this day for the first time and she already had these big expectations about me being like a prince or something. Do girls always act like that around here?"

"Well, the first impression is always important and since you are not fully japanese they might think of you as someone as interesting as a celebrity."

"But that's so superficial, I don't think I like the idea of being liked just for that."

"Don't worry, Langa, no matter what you know you can always count on your real friends who like you for who you really are, just focus on that." Reki said with a full smile,

"Kay, thanks a lot, Reki." And just like that morning, Reki was hitted again by Langa's secret smile, this time, not only Reki's face turned red, but his heart skipped a beat, and his stomach felt warm and if it was tingling. Wait, what's going on? Is this what they call "having butterflies in your stomach?"

"You're welcome, but we have to get back to class!"Reki tried to act calm, but ended up walking fast to the classroom, driven by the warm feeling he was having right then. What he didn't know was that Langa was also having this funny sensation in his stomach.

To be continued..

Stay tuned next month to see how it is now skating at S, what's going on with matchablossom and if Langa's new popularity is getting again in his relationship with his dear Reki.

And that's it! With this I officially begin my new story. I loved Sk8 The Infinity, well, all I could find, because it is not easy to locate in my country. But I loved the ships and the fandom and the voice actors, so I wanted to give the world my own continuation of this anime. I hope you enjoyed it! See you next time!
