Akasawa Forest
Walking through the brush, he watched as the trees danced around him. Green leaves flutter down to the ground before being picked up by a gentle stream.
"Man has ruined so much of my planet." He started, his voice echoing through the empty forest. With a smile, he continued, "It's good to see some beauty left untouched on this Earth."
His voice was gentle, yet commanding. Friendly while demanding respect. His voice was like a leader's whose voice alone commanded his subordinates, at the same time treating them as though they were still human.
His wild hair glistened in the orange sunlight as he walked down the creek. His black zori and tabi socks were soaked in the clear water. He didn't mind, however, as he was used to the water. Going so far as to view Earth's oceans as an extension of himself.
Regardless of the current situation, he wasn't here to go on a nature walk. He had felt an energy, one that didn't belong on his Earth. As well as the presence of a great being, one that combined the energy he felt and the one he used.
In recent times he had tolerated the presence of beings from the Higher Planes on his Earth, however, that had run thin. While he didn't know where to start, he had an idea. Nearby was a town with an abnormal amount of supernatural creatures. Beings who converted the same energy he used into something they called magic, for they weren't capable of using his same energy.
Though it wasn't as though they weren't powerful in their own right. Enough to pose a threat to the natural order of events on his Earth. With his next destination chosen, he began to make his way over.
Killing the boy, Issei was it? Whatever it was should have been easy enough for her. Yet something stopped her, it wasn't the boy or her emotions. Rather it was the presence of something huge that stopped her in her tracks.
Just as she was about to conjure a Light Spear to kill the pervert, a massive amount of raw Heavenly Energy began to appear in the air.
Backing away she flew on into the air, her black wings keeping her safe and off the ground. Normally she hated calling for help, but the situation seemed fitting. Bringing her hand up to her ear, she created a communication link. Yet before she could say anything a familiar voice bellowed through the circle, "Raynare, get out of there! We'll leave this place as soon as we see you!"
Now she was confused, how were her allies able to sense the presence of whatever being was approaching? Refusing to take their warning, Raynare sneered back, "Fine, let me just kill this idiot."
In her hands, she conjured a ball of light before it formed into a familiar light spear. Looking down at the brown-haired boy she announced once again, "Well it's been nice, Issei. At least I wasn't bored."
Right before she let the bolt loose she stopped. Every primal instinct in her body told her to run as fast as she could. Yet she couldn't, whatever it was couldn't be that big of a threat, right? From behind, Raynare felt someone grab her shoulder tightly before saying, "Kill who, Fallen?"
Panicking she jerked out of his grip, twisting around and sending the bolt toward whatever had just spoken to her. However, the man dodged the spear, even managing to avoid damaging his clothes. Before she was a man dressed in a short, sleeveless dark blue haori cut off at the waist left open to expose his chest. Draped around his shoulders was a black cape that faded into blue, cut in half down the middle, effectively creating two capes attached by small chains acting as collars. Around his arms were white sleeves covering his arms from his wrist to the bottom of his shoulders, held in place with blue beads wrapped around the top. He wore black umanori-styled hakama pants tied with a white uwa-obi, his calves wrapped in white cloth resembling kyahan. On his feet were black zori with straps and black tabi socks, around his ankles were similar blue beads.
Held up with the uwa-obi were two leather sheaths, holding massive cleaver-like blades. The hilts of the weapons were black and blue, at the end of each hilt was a silver chain that was freely hanging behind his legs. His most striking feature however was his face, his eyes were a yellow-gold color, his wild hair, colored black fading into blue similar to his cape.
"What the hell are you?" Raynare demanded, the man smirking in response. Her face contorting in anger, she yelled, "Answer me, dammit!"
His yellow eyes pierced through her, seemingly reading her fear. Another bolt of light formed in her hands before launching toward the man in front of her. However, faster than she could realize he appeared in front of her before jutting his right knee into her torso.
The blow launched her into the ground, rubble exploding around her while she lay coughing up blood. Scrounging to get up she yelled, "What the fuck are you!?"
Before sending a third bolt of light toward him, once again he dodged with ease, before landing down on the ground in front of the Fallen. He looked down at her with a smile, before that faded into a scowl.
"You Fallen Angels aren't supposed to be here, just consider this a punishment for violating the natural order." He said before grabbing both of his swords, the black, and silver blades reflecting the small amount of sunlight. Holding them so the points of each blade were facing away from the other.
A blue glow erupted in his chest, before spreading out through his body. Streams of blue began to envelop his arms, before landing at his hands and spiraling around his blades. The steaming metal glowed from the sheer energy present. Raynare watched in horror as he pointed the blades at her, the blue glow growing until the whole area lit up. With a smile on his face, he said coldly, "Goodbye, Raynare."
However, just before he could attack, three beams of light struck him. Knocking him off balance, causing him to lose his focus. Looking above he saw three more black-winged creatures landing on the ground, guarding Raynare against him. The first was a neatly dressed man wearing a pale gray trench coat over a white dress shirt with a matching ascot, black pants, shoes, gloves, and a fedora. The second was a simply dressed woman, wearing a red trench coat-like top, a matching miniskirt, black heels with brown eyes, and navy blue hair, her right eye covered by her bangs. The third was a blonde child, wearing a black dress with white frills, a black bow on the front, white thigh-high socks, and black shoes with a black bow in her hair.
The man looked up at him before saying, "So you're the source of the energy we detected, hopefully, you can put up a decent fight." He watched as the two women next to the male Fallen looked at their ally as though they disagreed with his words. That meant they feared him, they knew his power and who he was. A smile still on his face he started, "You know, I would watch your tone around opponents you know are stronger than you."
The make Fallen sneered at his words, his pride getting in the way of his instinctual fear. Continuing he offered, "How about this? I'll give you four the chance to leave and return to whatever Plane you came from, and I won't kill you all."
The two women flinched at his words, while the man in the fedora charged a ball of light. He took note of this as he began carelessly swinging his swords by the chain, almost as though he were playing with his favorite toy. The Fallen took offense to this, scowling before yelling, "PAY ATTENTION YOU, DUMBASS!"
Just as he burst forwards, the man flicked his wrist. The iron chains slung the swords through the Fallen's body, slicing him into three pieces. Even so, the Fallen was still alive, his eyes widened from panic as sweat dripped down his mangled body. Everyone present looked in shock as they saw the man's body fall, a wet squishing noise ringing out through the park as it did so. His blood and entrails began polling from his carcass, the hands of death finally claiming him.
"Wh-what did y-you do?" The blonde child whimpered in panic, her blue eyes dilating back and forth from her panic. Looking at the other two Fallen, both were trembling in fear yet managing to keep their composure. With a smirk on his face, he walked forwards before saying, "I asked you a question, now choose your answer."
The three looked up at him, the blue-haired woman putting a fierce look on her face. A spear conjuring in her palm she declared, "We're not cowering to the likes of you." Her black wings erupted from her back before she launched up, throwing her spear toward him. With a bored look on his face, he caught the spear, absorbing the little energy within it. Focusing his attention back on the Fallen, he said, "Then you shall die."
Before anyone could realize what happened, the Fallen was on the ground with the man's sword embedded through her torso. Kneeling over her, he pushed the blade further into her body. Blood spurted from the wound and onto his face, a sadistic smile forming on his face as she cried out in pain. Satisfied with his work, he picked up his sword with her body still attached before it slid off and landed on the ground. His yellow eyes darted towards the other two, a cold stare present on his face as he said, "I can only hope you two will be wiser than them."
Both Raynare and the blonde nodded hastily, their black wings sprouting before they burst into the sky. Closing his eyes he took a deep breath, sighing as he sheathed his blades. Looking back at the boy on the ground he stated, "Looks like you passed out from the shock alone, pathetic."
Studying him further, he began to sense something within the boy. Grabbing his hand, he announced, "Whatever's in this boy, answer me before I kill your host." After his threat, a sharp mechanical red gauntlet appeared on the boy's arm, a green gemstone on the back of the hand. The forearm looked as though it had several horns pointed away from the hand, the longest two a shimmering gold color. Before anything else could be said, the gem lit up as a deep bestial voice asked, "How were you able to sense me?"
A smile appeared on his face once again, he said, "Oh isn't this funny, you should know by now Ddraig."
As though he could see the dragon rolling his eyes, Ddraig explained, "Yeah, yeah. Souls are made from Heavenly Energy which you can eat, and you sensed two souls in this body."
"Good, you haven't forgotten! Now, who is this host of yours, Ddraig." The man asked, the tension of the previous situation dropping. Answering his question, the dragon answered, "His name is Issei Hyoudou, he attends a school in this town. Outside of that, this is his first real interaction with beings from the Higher Planes."
"Outside of you of course." He added, the dragon sighing as he repeated his words, "Yeah, outside of myself."
The man considered his options, realistically the boy would be attacked by another one of the factions. And one of them would succeed in killing him, it was more or less luck that he arrived when he did. Speaking of which, the Fallen or even the other supernatural beings in this town weren't what he sensed had arrived on his Earth. Perhaps the boy could be useful if he ever encounters whatever landed on his Earth. His thoughts now organized, he questioned, "Ddraig, you sensed a being arriving on this Earth not that long ago? Before I did."
"Yes, it felt even stronger than you based on what I remember when you killed me all those years ago," Ddraig explained, a hint of anger in his tone that caused the man to inwardly laugh. Knowing what his next move would be, he told the dragon, "Then I will need your help."
"That's a surprise. I would expect your pride to prevent you from doing so." Ddraig insulted, laughing at the man's pride. Rolling his eyes in annoyance the man replied, "I'm powerful, not an idiot. Besides, I can recognize when I'm at a disadvantage."
Laughing at his response, Ddraig answered, "Might as well, seems like it will be interesting."
"Good, now how to explain this to the boy..." The man commented before shaking the boy awake. Watching his eyes flutter open, he saw his brown eyes dart back and forth before focusing on the man kneeling over him. Deciding to cut right to the chase, he asked, "You're finally awake. Now then, you're going to help me kill a god."
"W-what are you?! Please, please don't hurt me!" Issei yelled in panic, the man sighing in frustration "You've got to be fucking with me. Ddraig you couldn't have picked a less BITCHY HOST!?"
Issei cowered at the man's yelling, before Ddraig answered, "I had no control over which host I was put into."
"Ugh, you've got to be kidding me. Ddraig, is there ANYTHING I need to know about him?" He questioned, before Ddraig answered, "He's quite the pervert, dreaming of having a harem to himself."
"Ah, so he's a leech. Should be interesting." The man remarked, before kneeling and putting his hand on his shoulder and saying, "You want to go on an adventure and get yourself a mega-harem."
At that, the boy snapped back to attention, no longer completely dazed from fear, "Wait, a harem?"
'I can't believe I'm saying this shit...' "Yes, we'll go on an adventure all across the world, killing gods and picking up women." He offered all senses of fear leaving the boy's face. Before Issei responded, Ddraig commented, "Really? That's the best you can do?"
"Shut up, Ddraig." The man ordered, the dragon laughing from within the gauntlet, catching Issei's attention, "What are you?"
"Well, I am an outer-dimensional god who protects the Earth you walk on. This is a higher-dimensional dragon sealed within you, allowing you its abilities." The self-proclaimed god explained, stunning the boy while pointing at his gauntlet. Even with the rather short explanation, the boy still had a look of confusion on his face before asking, "Uh, can you just start with your names?"
"I suppose that's fair." Ddraig inputted, the man agreeing before adding, "True, true. Very well then, call me Sekaino Kami."
Issei looked at Sekaino, before announcing his name, "It's nice to meet you, my name is Issei Hyoudou."
"Oh, I know. He told me so." Sekaino responded, a confused look on Issei's face as he watched Sekaino point at the gauntlet. Lifting his arm, he asked, "Who are you?"
"My full name is Y Ddraig Goch, also known as the Welsh Dragon, or the Red Dragon Emperor. Though you can call me Ddraig for short, boy." Ddraig explained, before continuing by saying, "The gauntlet you are looking at is what is called a Sacred Gear. The Higher Plane of Heaven created devices which give humans abilities which can rival beings from the Higher Plane, specifically in the case that they cannot already use such abilities."
"Wait, wait, wait! What the hell are Higher Planes? And Heaven!? Like the actual Heaven!?" Issei yelled out, Sekaino rolled his eyes in annoyance before stating, "This Earth is what you call a Lower Plane. Heaven and the Underworld, which is where I'd bet those Fallen Angels came from, are both Higher Planes. I originate from an Outer Plane. The difference between these has to do with the quantity of raw Heavenly Energy which the beings from the respective Planes can draw, as well as the properties of these realms.
For instance, the Lower Beings only have a limited quantity of raw Heavenly Energy they can pull from the Earth. Meaning that only a small amount of beings from these Lower Planes can use raw Heavenly Energy, this causes the beings from the Lower Planes to have limited lifespans. Once again the reason for this is because souls consist of raw Heavenly Energy, and because the souls have a limited amount of energy to pull from, they can only sustain a limited existence within a Lower Plane." Sekaino explained, his vast knowledge pouring into Issei's mind, Issei asked, "Then what happens when someone dies? Does their soul go into the Higher Planes?"
Nodding his head, Sekaino answered, "Yes, because those in the Higher Planes have can pull an endless amount of Heavenly Energy, they can sustain the existence of beings able to use Heavenly Energy, as well as the souls of beings from the Lower Planes who enter the Higher Planes upon death. So essentially, beings there are immortal,"
"Then what are the Outer Planes?" Issei asked, a stern look taking over Sekaino's face as he answered, "Those are much more mysterious places, places which exist outside of the conventional boundaries of time. For now, though, you do not need to worry about them."
Nodding his head, Sekaino spoke, "Now then, I'm assuming you have a place to stay because I need to stay in this town for a while to investigate what's happening here."
"Uh, yeah I stay at my parent's house. I'd have to ask but I'm sure you could stay over. But what do you mean, 'what's happening here,'?" Issei asked as Sekaino stated, "Do you think that those Fallen Angels were the only supernatural beings here?"
Issei looked up at him before saying, "Yeah, I guess that's fair."
"Anyways, how about we go back to that house of yours? We can't stay out in this park forever." Sekaino stated, looking around at the torn-up cement paths. Issei nodded before adding, "Alright, let me just call my parents."
Watching as Issei got up and pulled out his phone, seemingly making a call to his parents asking if a 'friend' could stay the night. Sekaino looked up at the now dark sky, letting his thoughts run wild, 'Let's see how the Red Dragon Emperor does,'
"We could try to recruit him." A young woman suggested, the moonlight shining off her pale skin. In front of her was another woman, her eyes staring blankly as she debated with her thoughts, "How's Issei, he hasn't summoned either of us."
Behind the second girl, another figure appeared, before answering, "I've delivered the flier as requested, however, he hasn't activated yet."
"Thank you, you may take your leave now." The second girl replied, the third bowing before disappearing. Looking at her black-haired friend, she said, "Issei for now will be our top priority, though we'll have to find out whatever this energy we're sensing is. If we're lucky..."
"Yes, I no doubt that whoever possesses that much raw power would be able to defeat him." The black-haired girl added, referring to a very specific man which made the second glare ever so slightly. Though just as quickly as her glare appeared, it disappeared again before she finished with, "Whoever it is, we can discuss that later. I suppose we better get out of here, Akeno."
"Yes, that's true. Well, goodnight Rias. Please try not to stress yourself out over this." Akeno suggested, before walking out of the room and presumably to her home. Rias however sat on the couch, frozen in the same position. She wished she would have listened to Akeno's advice, but she wouldn't sit complacently and let graying faces decide what was best for her. She needed to find out who owned such a huge amount of power, for they may be her only hope.
"This is the place?" Sekaino asked, Issei looking over with a bored expression before responding with, "Yup, that's my home. Also is there a way you can hide those?"
Nodding, Sekaino tied the blades around his back, using his cape to keep them obstructed. Staying on the front porch, Sekaino heard Issei discussing bringing a guest inside his parent's house, before running back to the front door to let Sekaino in. Looking at Sekaino, Issei said, "Alright just try to keep it down, my dad's asleep. Other than that you're good to come inside."
He nodded before walking into the standard home, looking around at the quaint home he saw a middle-aged woman sitting at a dining room table on a laptop. The two made eye contact for a brief moment before the woman said, "Oh hello, Issei explained you needed a place to stay?"
Sekaino nodded in response before saying, "Yes, sorry I know it's a school night for him. I just needed a place to stay since my hotel ripped me off for my planned stay."
Issei looked in curiosity, seeing Sekaino's out-of-character politeness towards his mother. His mother, ignoring Issei's confusion, replied to Sekaino, "That's certainly unfortunate. Well in any case you're welcome to stay here for as long as you need."
Smiling at her words, Sekaino said, "Ah, thank you for your generosity. I'll be sure to pay you back in due time."
Sekaino followed Issei up the stairs, both walking into his small room. Turning on the lights, Sekaino saw that there was only one small bed. Issei chuckled nervously before saying, "Sorry, my parents haven't gotten me a bigger bed. Guess they don't think I can bring a girl home."
Sekaino gave Issei a bored stare before looking at his arm and asking, "Ddraig has he?"
"Not in his life," Ddraig revealed, Sekaino laughing at the dragon's brutal honesty. Issei in retaliation argued, "H-hey! That's not true! I just haven't had the chance to."
"Sure thing bub," Sekaino replied, both he and Ddraig calming down. Issei, with a curious look, asked Sekaino, "Hey, I'm curious. What is your type of woman?"
Sekaino looked up at Issei, a perplexed expression present as he teased, "Really? Are women all you can talk about?"
Issei's face flushed in embarrassment as he rebutted, "Well no, I'm just curious. That's all."
His sly smile disappeared as he made eye contact with Issei, Sekaino replied, "Yeah, yeah. I know. But if you must know, I haven't had a mate during my time on this Earth."
"That's surprising. I'd think with your power women would be attracted to you almost automatically." Ddraig commented before saying, "After all, I'm fairly certain most of my hosts have had harems to themselves."
At this, Issei's eyes lit up before he yelled, "Really! Does that mean I'm going to have a harem to myself?!"
Sekaino rolled his eyes before pushing back Issei's disgusting expression. Landing on the bed with his expression hardened, Issei stated, "Well what is it, you haven't told me."
Sighing, Sekaino answered, "If you must know, I don't want just any woman. I'd want someone strong, not just physically. But also mentally, hell I wouldn't even mind if she was a bit feisty. Better that than overly complacent."
"That's a bit surprising, I'd imagine you'd want someone who submits to you, seeing as you are Earth's World God," Ddraig commented, Issei taking note of his last words yet remaining silent. Sekaino replied, "No. I'd want my mate to stand with me as an equal, not submitting to me even if my strength is far superior."
"Oh... So you want a tsundere. That's not quite what I expected." Issei stated, confusing Sekaino who asked, "What the fuck is a tsundere?"
"Ugh, if you must know it's a type of girl who acts cold or hostile towards you while warming up to you, however going so far as to hide their love towards you." Ddraig explained, confusing Sekaino and Issei, both questioning Ddraig, "Wait, how do you know that?"
"Yeah, how the hell do you?" Issei and Sekaino asked respectively, Ddraig answering with, "You think I don't make observations on your lecherous habits, boy?"
Sekaino chuckled at Issei's ensuing panic, before looking at the wall-mounted clock, pointing out the time, "You should probably get to bed, boy. I'd imagine you'll want a good night's sleep before tomorrow. Your life is about to get a hell of a lot more interesting."
Issei looked up at Sekaino, before smiling in response and saying, "Good night, Sekaino."
Sekaino smiled at the boy's politeness, before replying, "Good night, Issei."
A/N: And that's chapter two done, going to leave it a secret as to who Sekaino actually is. Regardless, this mini-arc is finally over, see you in the next chapter when it's published.
