So named because of the Shattered Moon. No one knows why the Moon was shattered when humanity first started it's steps to begin it's civilizations
A group of primitive humans sitting around a fire at night are seen looking up towards a broken moon with wonder.

A priest was seen praying to the Shattered Moon.
Some religion's say that the Shattered Moon was broken by a Angered God and should he be anger again he will destroy everthing returning the whole planet back into it's most primal parts.
A giant shadowed being is seen hovering over a sea of flames with everything turning to ash!
Now as civilizations advanced and the scientists occupations were created these religions were challenged the Shattered Moon that they build there religion around.
A group of people are seen in a board room around a table discussing an important topic with the Shattered Moon on a whiteboard.
Naturally this made people of those religions angry but let's go to another topic that is less heated!
Kingdoms
Vale, Vacuo, Mistral and Atlas these Four Major kingdom's are what humanity has build a safe haven around from the now almost harmless Grimm. Using Gravity generator's built from studying Gravity Dust and have been provided by Atlas the kingdom's have built flying civilizations!
Floating Islands are seen moving over a Sea a leviathan Grimm is seen about to attack it with Flying Grimm but are shot down by turrets and energy cannons!
Though some upper class people began to use this as there vacation homes or private residents but that has been dealt with by Governments for the sake of humanity's evolution and survival, now the islands are used to house citizens, Factory's, military bases, school's, companies and neighborhoods.
A neighborhood is seen floating in place safe over a green forest with kids playing in a park some playing in the streets adults working in homes or gardening, some of them are guards manning energy cannon's and turret's keeping the island safe.
Floating over a desert is a factory for making glass and metal objects for either buildings or materials electronic parts.
Over a snowing Mountain area within a gravity elevator were guards and huntsmen surrounding the bottom, workers are seen bringing mining materials and Dust for the people of Floating Civilizations.
Outpost were created out of deserted towns and villages for transportation of goods and people these Outposts seen as dangerous place for encounter's with The Grimm.
Roaming around an Outpost where Beowolfs and Boartusks look to get a bite of human flesh!
Well! We covered some of the kingdom's now let's cover one of the major threats of the planet Remnant
Grimm
Beast of Darkness created from some pit of disgusting mess. Ground bound Grimm are almost harmless now but they roam around looking for anyone that is stupid enough to roam Flying Grimm are given more priority given that they could pop up in floating neighborhoods.
A Giant Nevermore is making it's way towards one of the floating City's but then,
*Bang*
*Boom*
A bullet shot is made going through the Nevermore's brain instantly killing the Grimm then it dispersed in a black cloud of dust.
Thankfully humanity has Huntsman and soldiers that can defend themselves against the Grimm using Aura, Semblances And Dust
A Women wearing a white Hooded cloak Riding within a Bullhead with a smoking rifle Is seen taking a breath and wiping her sweat off her head.

Now let's check out another important factor of humanity's success!
Technology!
Tech advancement is most important to humanity now then ever! Thanks to Dr. Pietro Polendina and various other scientists!
Dr. Polendina is seen working on a computer system With various other scientists that help humanity and hopefully drive off Grimm with the positivity that it creates!
Some people use these advancements to there own gain but some use it to create happy moments and memory's for themselves.
Dr. Polendina is seen In his lab with a computer system entering a set of codes into a computer with a robotic skeleton is seen within a pod, where it should be was a glowing green orb…
Now the stage is set! The world is ready! Now all that it needs is the main characters!
