Chapter 4 - Intriguing Confrontation
Freya watched everything that just happened in the Dungeon.
Initially, when she realized that he was followed, she was interested in what was going to happen. And now, she doesn't regret having spent several hours watching him. Although she was a little confused about the young man's actions, everything made sense in the end.
There are three things that she found very interesting while watching everything that happened.
1. The strange Goblin capable of using fire magic that was generated by the Dungeon.
As soon as she saw this, the face she showed was total surprise. A monster that had never appeared before, appeared on the very same day that young man entered the Dungeon. This is something that aroused even more curiosity about the young man. There is no way that such a thing could have been a coincidence.
Somehow, his presence caused the Dungeon to create a new monster. Something that never crossed her mind. Could it be that the Dungeon saw him as a real threat? If it was anything close to what it is with the gods, then the Dungeon would create a creature powerful enough to kill the god who was foolish enough to enter the Dungeon.
However, although the Goblin seemed to have some firepower, it was easily killed.
That was something to be investigated as a priority.
2. The boy's indifference and lack of expression as he witnessed the death of the three adventurers.
No matter how Freya looked at it, even if his soul never saw the "true light", it is still totally incomprehensible. Ayanokouji Kiyotaka remained unperturbed, as if the death of the three adventurers had not affected his mind in any way.
Freya watched Ayanokouji's reactions carefully, trying to decipher his emotions through his facial expression or his gestures, but all she found was the same coldness and indifference she had noticed before. His face is simply the same all the time.
"How can you be so indifferent in the face of the deaths of three adventurers?" Freya whispered.
He also showed great skills in combat, being able to easily defeat three people who have been adventurers for a few months now, and it was a feat that was considered incredible to most people watching, especially the gods, as he had just registered as an adventurer.
This only made her wonder what kind of life he had so far.
However, it was the third thing that she found the most interesting of all.
When the adventurer was about to attack Ayanokouji, Freya for the first time showed great concern when she saw that he did not move to deflect the blow. She knew he was capable of dodging it when he rolled his eyes back several seconds before being hit.
The fact that he didn't try to dodge the blow was what left her totally confused and worried, but when the head of the adventurer's friend who was attacking Ayanokouji was severed, her confusion and worry was again exchanged for surprise and bewilderment.
He didn't move a single inch, and she is sure that he was hit. Or at least, he was supposed to be. This same situation repeated itself when the Goblin used fire magic and he again stood still without moving.
What could such an ability be? It didn't seem to be magic, because she didn't hear or see his mouth moving at that time. Then how?
That fascinated Freya.
But it was not only his ability that fascinated her. Freya was also attracted to the air of mystery that surrounded Ayanokouji. He seemed to carry with him a deep secret, something that made him different from the other adventurers she had observed in the Dungeon long ago. She could not explain what it was, but she felt she needed to find out.
With each step of Ayanokouji, Freya found herself more and more intrigued. She wanted to know more about him, she wanted to understand what made him so special. She couldn't take her eyes off him, as if hypnotized by his presence. And when he finally concluded his "exploration" of the Dungeon and returned to the surface, Freya felt as if something had changed inside her again.
She doesn't know exactly who he is or where he came from, but the strong attraction she feels for him cannot be denied. There is something about his cold personality that intrigues her. He is not like the naïve people who usually venture into the Dungeon. He is different, dangerous and mysterious.
She needs to know more about him. She needs to have him around. She cannot let this young man escape her clutches. He is her prey now, her destined partner, and nothing will stop her from catching up with him.
I was finally out of the Dungeon.
There was much to think about that had just happened.
Walking through the deserted streets of Orario, I couldn't get the incident that happened in the Dungeon out of my mind. The summoning of that Goblin with fire magic was something that intrigued me deeply. What had happened? Did my presence really have any effect on the Dungeon?
The presence of a simple ordinary adventurer should not affect the Dungeon in this way. However, I am far from being an ordinary adventurer. I am a person from another world, and somehow the Dungeon seems to have realized this.
If the Dungeon considered me a kind of "virus", then it would probably have tried to kill me by sending something stronger. Even if the Goblin's firepower was alarming, it was still a monster that can be easily killed, so it only being the 1st floor makes sense.
Lorelai mentioned something about being able to see my essence, and how it had something different from the essence of the people in this world. Maybe the Dungeon could see that and because of that tried to summon a new type of monster for my different "parameters" than those native to this world? If that is indeed the case, I will have to be more careful than I was at first.
Who knows what other monsters the dungeon may summon on the other floors that I will go to in the future?
It is exactly as I expected, only my presence is affecting and changing what was once a common pattern in this world. My Rewriter ability must be responsible for this. Everything I do or fail to do will affect something, even if it is little, there will still be some change.
This was something more problematic than I initially thought. That way I will have changed a lot of things when the protagonist of the story appeared.
This all could have been avoided if I never had the [Fairy Steps] ring with me. Or if I just decided to hide the ring in my pocket or somewhere else, if I wasn't wearing the ring, all of this could have been easily avoided. Of course, I had already thought of this from the moment I stood in line to enter the city of Orario.
There is a reason for everything. The fact that I was always wearing the ring.
When I put [Fairy Steps] on my finger, I felt a kind of energy. It was little, so I didn't even bother to think about it at the time, but I still felt it. When I was traveling to Orario, I noticed that as I went along I was able to feel this energy more easily.
At one point, when I was still out of town, I did a test and took the ring off for a while. Although I knew and could feel some of that energy, it just wasn't the same. So, I came to the obvious conclusion, I would have to be wearing the ring to activate the [Fairy Steps] ability.
Lorelai told me that if I had the ring, I would be able to find the fairies, just like they would be able to find me.
Well, that's all she said at the time. But it was obvious that she gave me this gift in order to observe me. Since I am a human from another world, she must have been very interested in me. Therefore, I wouldn't be surprised if she knows about everything that happened in the Dungeon.
I am a human who was thrown into this world where there are monsters and people with abilities that surpass me. Because of this fact, I decided to wear the ring all the time. I was in a new environment where a simple carelessness on my part could cost me my life. Therefore, it is in my interest to keep the thing that can save me with me at all times.
In time, people will get used to seeing me carrying a valuable ring, so there will come a time when they simply won't pay attention to it anymore.
Of course, there will also be people with malicious intentions, just like these three adventurers who will not resist the temptation to steal something valuable. However, since I have decided to wear the ring at all times, it is unlikely that I will escape these situations completely, so I will take care of this in due course.
After thinking about all this, a new doubt arose in my mind.
The Goblin who uses fire magic may have appeared because of me, but will he only appear while I am on the 1st floor or will he appear to the other adventurers from now on? That's something to find out.
At this very moment, I felt my body extremely heavy. It seems that the effects of using [Fairy Steps] are becoming more evident.
"...When was the last time since my body was tired near the limit like now?"
Surely it's been a long time.
Well, leaving that aside, I'd better hurry up and get to the Forsaken Church as soon as possible. I can't risk passing out in the middle of the street or something. I also had to talk to Hestia.
And tomorrow, I intended to visit the Guild.
The first thing that happened to me as soon as I entered the Old Church was hearing Hestia's voice when she realized I had arrived.
"Kiyotaka-kun, you have finally arrived!" She exclaimed when I heard footsteps. "About that weird kind of screen, I swear I didn't mess-wait, what happened to you!?"
Ignoring what she said about my cell phone, I was a little surprised by her reaction. Of course I had expected her to raise an alarm about it, but how bad did I look?
I didn't answer immediately, she quickly approached me.
"Is that blood? Are you hurt?"
"It's not really mine, so you don't need to make an alarm about it. A lot of things have happened in the Dungeon."
I took off my blazer which was a little dirty with blood. Luckily, the blood didn't splatter on my shirt. However, I needed some new clothes, because my uniform alone is not enough. I hoped that some new kind of magic stone that that Goblin who uses fire magic dropped would give enough money to buy at least two or three pieces of clothing.
"Are you really okay?" She asked me.
Her face showed quite a bit of concern. Well, that is to be expected, me being the first member of her Familia and this being my first day in the Dungeon, coupled with the fact that I came back "injured", is really worrying in her view.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I sat down on the couch.
Looking over, I saw my cell phone in the same place I had left it.
She sat down next to me.
"What happened?"
It was an expected question. Of course she wants to know what left me in this state. I couldn't lie to her, but I didn't worry about it, after all I had planned to tell her from the beginning.
I started telling her everything from the beginning when I left the Adventurers' Guild. I didn't give all the details and omitted the fact that I used [Fairy Steps]. Hesita still didn't know what this ring is capable of. However, I didn't omit it for nothing, I planned to tell her at a later date.
I was more curious about Hestia's personality compared to the book I read, so I watched carefully when I omitted or left out some details. I noticed her looking at [Fairy Steps] from time to time. She didn't show much reaction when I showed her the ring the first time. However, it could be that she wasn't paying much attention because she was excited to have the first member of her Familia.
She is clearly suspicious of some things, even though I am technically telling the truth, just taking out some details. Thanks to this, I realized that Hestia was much more observant than the book conveyed. Even though she is clearly realizing the fact that I am omitting some details, she has not questioned me at any point, which is strange, since if one reads the book, her approach would be exactly the opposite.
I also still wondered what that woman who looked like Hestia on the cover of the book was. My curiosity about all this only increases and I want to find out more and more.
During the conversation, she showed several signs of concern, but I kept saying that everything was fine and there was no problem.
When it came to the part about the Goblin who used magic, she clearly questioned me, this time asking for details about this monster. I didn't see a problem with that, after all, I was interested in this myself and wanted to know more about this monster. I got confirmation when she said that she had never seen or heard of anything like this Goblin.
The fact that he is capable of using magic is also something that was clearly on her mind, as she showed difficulty in believing this fact, even though she knows I am telling the truth.
"It just doesn't make sense," she whispered.
However, there was one thing about which I was quite curious about her reaction. I didn't hide the death of those three Soma Familia Adventurers, because it didn't make sense. I just left out several details because of [Fairy Steps]. The lack of reaction at the mention of the death of the three was what puzzled me.
"What?" Realizing that I was looking at her more intensely than usual, she showed a curious expression.
"Just curious about your lack of reaction about the death of the three adventurers."
"Huh?" she tilted her head. "Well, better them than you, right? Besides, they tried to rob and hurt you."
This quick response took me by surprise. Even though she barely showed any reaction with the death of the three adventurers, I am the same, but she didn't question it. I kept looking at her as she seemed to be thinking about everything I had just said.
Interesting.
"Well, you talked about how that Goblin's stone was different from the rest, right?" I just nodded. "Although you didn't collect the others, you clearly collected this one, right? Show me."
The dialogue with Hestia was much more interesting than I thought it would be, totally different from when I met her yesterday. It's as if she had transformed into someone else.
I quickly took the magic stone from my pocket and showed it to her. The color of the magic stone is a very bright dark orange. Hestia began to inspect the magic stone before returning it to me a few seconds later.
"I have never seen anything like this found on the 1st floor. The color is also very bright. Anyway, you'd better take it to the Guild."
"Well, I hope I can at least get enough money to buy a few pieces of clothing, since I don't intend to go to the Dungeon tomorrow."
I had to watch the effect of my presence in the Dungeon. If by chance the "different" monsters only appeared thanks to my presence, then I would have to hunt in the Dungeon quite late. I haven't confirmed any patterns yet either, but that Goblin appeared after I killed 49 monsters on the 1st floor.
"Oh, don't you have any other clothes besides this one with you?" Hestia asked me and I nodded. "Well, in that case, I think I can buy something for you with the money I have. It's not much, but it should be enough for an ensemble. I'd have to talk to the boss about taking tomorrow off."
"Don't worry about it, I am confident that this magic stone will yield enough. You don't need to spend of your own money."
"It's okay, Kiyotaka-kun! You're from my Familia, I'm your Goddess, it's my duty to take care of things like this."
"You don't have to. I can't be dependent on you for anything that comes up." Seeing that she was about to speak, I continued. "Besides, I'll probably need your help with something else."
She seemed to perk up at that.
"What thing?"
"Well, first of all, I'll go take a shower. I'd like you to update my status after that."
"Well, I don't mind, but it's only been 1 day since you entered the Dungeon. I don't believe it will have much difference to what it was before."
"I know, I just want to ascertain something."
"All right, then."
After that I went to take a shower. I washed my blazer and my shirt together. For now, I haven't washed my pants yet. By tomorrow they should be dry enough to wear again. After about 15 minutes, I returned to the room so that Hestia could update my statuses and I would have confirmation of something.
However, I noticed that Hestia was looking at me quite intently.
"So, can we get started?"
As soon as I said that, Hestia seemed to come to her senses and shook her head hard.
"C-right, let's get started. Sit on the bed," she said hurriedly.
I obeyed and approached the bed to sit down. I noticed that her face was a little red and she seemed to be smiling to herself.
The same process was done and I felt something in me change when she updated my Status. When the process was finished, I turned around and saw Hestia looking at the sheet of paper intently before she passed the sheet of paper to me. I took the sheet of paper containing my updated Status when I heard her speak.
"You are really impressive, Kiyotaka-kun."
Ayanokouji Kiyotaka.
Level 1.
Strength: I: 60
Endurance I: 60
Dexterity: I: 60
Agility: I: 60
Magic: I: 60
Abilities: PALMARIUS; Rewriter.
PALMARIUS:
-The perfection of a Masterpiece has no limits.
-Limits do not apply to the user.
-The more difficult the task, the greater the reward received.
Rewriter:
-The Fate of the world is uncertain. It is up to the user to rewrite it with his actions, either for better or for worse.
-Small actions result in small changes, large actions result in large changes.
Well, with that I could confirm. The PALMARIUS Skill causes my stats to develop equally for all stats. The certainty about this is my magic stat, after all I don't possess any magic, but it's still at 60 points.
Unless [Fairy Steps] somehow contributes to my magic status, which I find difficult to be the case, as this ability doesn't even show up in Falna.
It is possible that Falna only shows skills that are directly related to combat skill or other physical and magical skills. Since the skill [Fairy Steps] is more like an evasion skill, it may be that it is not considered useful enough to be displayed in Falna.
Or maybe it's just that this skill was given to me by the Fairy Queen herself, and not by a God, and it only works while I'm wearing the ring. Either way, it's pointless to keep thinking about it for now.
"Well, it looks like it really hasn't increased much," I handed the status sheet back to her.
"Maybe not much by your standards, but getting 10 points in all stats with only 1 day inside the Dungeon is a lot. I mean, although I'm not entirely sure, since you're the first member of my Familia, I think most people would only get about a 3 point increase in stats. You got 10 on all of them, even the magic, which is strange since you don't possess any."
"That's the effect of my PALMARIUS Skill."
Hestia seemed to be quite excited. I can understand why. Let's say I took 10 points in each statistic, a total of 50 points every day. In one week I would have gotten a total of 350 points, a total of 70 points more for each statistic.
However, there is no way it could be that easy. The description "-The harder the task, the greater the reward received."From PALMARIUS is the key point. I most likely only got these 10 points for each of my stats because of the Goblin who was able to use magic, which is a new kind of "monster". If not for this, it is very likely that I would not have gotten any points at all, because dealing with the other monsters was extremely easy, no matter how much I was holding back to pretend to be weak.
"You said you had something that would need my help, right? Were you just talking about the status update?"
"No," I stood up and walked over to where my cell phone was, "You probably took a good look at it, right?"
"Well, I looked at it a little bit," she turned her face away. "But I swear I didn't touch anything!" She added quickly.
"It's okay, I know. It's normal to be curious about something new you've never seen, right?" Besides, my cell phone was off the whole time, so there was no way she could have gone beyond just looking."Well, I meant to ask this before, but you left for the Dungeon. What exactly is that?"
"It's called a cell phone, a mobile device." I didn't give too many details, not least because, there's no way she could be fully aware of those words.
Curious, she just watched as I turned on the cell phone. There was little battery left, so I could not waste it unnecessarily. I put the phone in "power saving" mode. I didn't intend to tell Hestia that I am someone else's at this point, but I will reveal things little by little. I will be with her for quite some time, so mutual trust will be necessary.
Also revealing things to her immediately would not be a big problem, as she would have no choice but to believe me, as I would be telling her the truth and she would realize it. Although she had some of her personality that the book showed, there are many new things, I have to act carefully.
I will build the image of a boy who will slowly begin to open up to his goddess and thus reveal secrets. A trusting relationship built over time is much more effective for what I am aiming for in the future.
"Look at that," I snapped a picture of Hestia sitting up and showed her the cell phone screen.
"Huh!?" She stood up quickly and approached me with wide-eyed eyes. "What's that, like a portrait of me was taken immediately!?"
"It's a picture. It is taken immediately by pointing the cell phone 'camera' on the person or object you want to photograph."
"Really? That's amazing! You can sell that for a lot of money if you want!" She exclaimed with sparkling eyes.
"I'm not planning to sell my cell phone, it's a valuable goal, taking pictures is not the only thing this is capable of doing." I pointed to the small number on the cell phone that warned that the battery was at 48%. "That is the battery, however, I have no way to charge it after it runs out. My goal is to find a way to charge it."
Finding a way to charge my cell phone is an important factor first. In time, I can aim higher than that.
Hestia, curiously, seemed to understand this.
"Well, what do you plan to do then? How did you carry before?"
"Let's just say I used to use something like the magic stone you guys use, but I don't have that available anymore."
The people of this world use the energy of magic stones to provide light and energy for some other things. Maybe I can use the energy from the magic stones to charge my cell phone somehow, after all, building a charger seemed like an impossible dream at the moment.
"You want to use the magic stones?"
"Yes, but I have no idea how to do that. Do you know someone who can help me?"
As soon as I asked that, Hestia grimaced.
"Well, I think Hephaestus might be able to help."
Her voice came out a little low. The book described that Hestia and Hephaestus were friends and it was Hephaestus who let Hestia stay living in the Abandoned Church. This place is very spacious, I plan to do a little renovation on it in the future. The money I will get in the future should be more than enough to carry out this renovation.
I could also buy a smaller and cheaper place so that Hestia and I could live without any problems, but the things I do are looking ahead. I could always manage on my own when I was inside the White Room, but this world is totally different.
I knew that at some point I would need allies, because in a dangerous world like this, alliances are important.
A solitary fight in this place is bound to be lost.
Creating connections with some of the more "important" gods would be good in the long run.
Besides, Hephaestus can also be known as the God of blacksmiths, craftsmen, sculptors, metals, metallurgy, fire, of volcanoes, fire, and also the God of technology.
"In that case, could you talk to her? It doesn't have to be right away, after all I have plans to dive into the Dungeon all this week, with the exception of tomorrow."
"...I can try to talk to her. But I can't guarantee anything."
"Just try to say a few things that will get her interested. I'll show you how the cell phone works better the other day, so you can use that."
"Really?" Apparently, the idea of learning about the functions of something she had never seen was something quite interesting.
"Yes, but for now I'm going to get some sleep."
Truth be told, my body was still quite heavy. If it were anyone else it is quite likely that I would have passed out by now. However, this is also something quite interesting, as it had been a long time since I felt that my body was pushed to the limit.
"Okay, you'd better rest."
After that, Hestia and I got ready for bed. I lay on the couch and she on the bed.
"Good night, Kiyotaka-kun."
"Good night."
It is now about 2:00 pm.
The Guild was not so crowded at that time.
Some of the employees, who had already finished most of their work, started chatting a bit. Not really a problem, as there were no adventurers for them to attend to at the moment.
Rose Fannett and Eina Tulle are two people who had already finished most of their work.
Eina is a beautiful Half Elf with a slender body, pointed ears, shoulder length brown hair and emerald eyes.
Eina pulled up a subject that had made her curious since Rose had mentioned it when they were at work. And although they were technically still at work, a little time was freed up to chat a bit.
"So, this adventurer you're advising, what's he like?" she asked a question.
Rose had not given any details to her or Misha, she only briefly mentioned that she was advising a new adventurer. This fact surprised both Misha and Eina, as Rose always said that she had no interest in advising any more adventurers.
Eina understood the reason for this, as did Misha. When Eina started working in the Guild at the age of 14, she was assigned to Maris Hackard, a new adventurer. At first, the two did not get along very well and argued with each other, but over time they began to feel comfortable in each other's presence.
However, things got out of hand very quickly.
Eina worked constantly in the Guild while experimenting with many things. She was especially surprised at how quickly Maris was moving through the Dungeon. One afternoon, a year later, Maris reported to Eina that she had reached the 10th floor. Eina reminded her that she was ignoring her words by going to the 10th floor. Maris ignored all this and invited Eina to go drinking with her. Eina tried to reject her offer, wanting to separate her work from her personal life, but Maris did not accept. At the bar, Maris apologized to Eina for her actions the previous year, saying that she was an excellent advisor. Eina asked her why she wanted to become an adventurer, and Maris told her it was to show her parents who had abandoned her and to repay the God who had chosen her.
A month later, Eina was approached by her superior, Rehmer. Rehmer asked how Eina was doing in her new life as a Guild worker. She told him that she was doing well, mentioning that she was starting to approach her assigned adventurers. Rehmer was silent after hearing this and commented that Eina and Misha had not yet experienced this. He advised her not to approach her assigned adventurers, as this would be difficult for her later on. Eina stood in the hallway thinking about his words while Rehmer left her alone.
Several days later, Eina was part of a group that was inspecting Babel. As they were about to leave, they saw a group of people bringing the bodies of dead adventurers from the Dungeon. She was shocked to recognize that one of the bodies was that of Maris. The other adventurers judged from the injuries that Maris' group had been attacked by a Child Dragon. Eina tried to get away from the fact of Maris' death by closing her eyes, but her mind pictured her dead body. Eina was faced with the death of someone close to her for the first time.
And after that, four more adventurers assigned to her died. She began to blame herself for their deaths, wondering if there was something she could have done. Eina was not so different, after all, the adventurers she advised also died.
It is exactly for this reason that they know how Rose feels about counseling adventurers. Rose made the same mistake of getting close to an adventurer that she came to like, and after more than 1 year of counseling this person, he died in the Dungeon.
After that, Rose had vowed never to counsel any adventurer again. Eina and Misha still counseled some adventurers, but they tried their best not to get too close to them, because when they died, it wouldn't hurt them too much.
"Well," Rose began to speak. "He's mysterious. I couldn't read his expressions or emotions when I was talking to him, which made me a little uncomfortable. But he seems to be a pretty patient and intelligent person, because he listened about the floors calmly and even asked a lot of extra things."
"Oh," Eina was a little surprised. "If that's the case, he must be more careful than most beginner adventurers."
Most of them didn't even care about the guidance on the floors, they just wanted to finish right away to go to the Dungeon. Some of them didn't even listen to any guidance, and the result for that was a quick death inside the Dungeon.
"While that information is interesting," Misha's voice was heard as she approached the two. "I am interested to know if this man you are counseling is handsome."
"Misha, have you finished the job yet?" Eina questioned.
"Eh, mostly. So, Rose, is he handsome?"
Eina and Rose sighed at that. However, to Eina's surprise, Rose answered honestly.
"He's certainly far from ugly," seeing Misha's mischievous eyes, she added. "However, don't overthink it, I'm just advising him about the Dungeon. Besides, the boss wants to meet with him."
This information caused the two to look at Rose with some surprise.
"Wait, our boss? The same boss? Your adventurer is a human?" Misha asked as if she couldn't believe it.
Eina herself also seemed to think so. Rose couldn't say anything about it, after all, they know his contempt for any race that wasn't a High Elf or a God.
"Yes, but apparently it is not he who wants to talk to Kiyotaka, but Ouranos-sama."
"So his name is Kiyotaka? Wait, you said Ouranos-sama is the one who wants to talk to him!?"
"Keep it down!" As soon as Rose said that, Eina quickly covered her mouth and looked around quickly. "Yes, according to him, that seems to be it."
"But for Ouranos-sama to want to talk to a human who just registered as an adventurer... he didn't do anything illegal, did he?" Misha asked with narrowed eyes.
How the hell was she supposed to know that? He registered as an adventurer yesterday, and apparently arrived in Orario not even a week ago. Besides, even though he seemed to be mysterious, he didn't seem like a bad person. So what the hell could he have done in that short period of time?
He couldn't have done shit, it's just ridiculous to think about it.
Unless he already had a bad history where he came from, after all he didn't want to say anything about it. But that's not the point here. Just as Rose opened her mouth and was about to answer, the Guild door was opened.
Rose saw Ayanokouji Kiyotaka walking towards her calmly. She saw that Eina and Misha were looking at him with some surprise, probably because of the clothes he was wearing, which were still the same as yesterday.
"Kiyotaka," Rose greeted him.
"Hello, Rose."
"Oh, are you the adventurer Rose is advising?" Misha had already moved closer to him, watching him very carefully.
"Misha, stop it," Eina dragged Misha close to her. She looked up at him. "Hello, you must be Rose's adventurer, right? My name is Eina Tulle, it's a pleasure to meet you."
"And I'm Misha Flott! Nice to meet you, handsome. Rose sure got something good, huh."
The boy's response was simply a small raised eyebrow, his face unchanged.
Rose's response was to hit Misha on the head with her hand.
"Hey, that hurt!"
"That's what you get for trying to provoke me."
Ignoring the two's little argument, the boy turned to Eina and looked at her for a while, as if thinking about something. Eina herself was a little uncomfortable with this, but soon he opened his mouth.
"I am Kiyotaka Ayanokouji. Nice to meet you."
His voice came out in a completely calm tone, his face still not showing a single expression.
Rose was about to speak to him when he asked a question.
"Tell me, did any big alarms or anything like that happen recently?"
"Huh? No, I don't think so. Why?"
Why was he asking something like that?
They talked for a while and he asked if nothing strange had happened recently, which left Rose confused, as did Eina and Misha.
Rose remembered that she needed to take Kiyotaka to her boss's office.
"Kiyotaka, can you come with me? The Guild boss wants to talk to you, it was supposed to be yesterday, but you had already left."
"Huh?" he looked curious, though his expression remained the same. "Well, I had something to talk to you too, but I can do that later."
"Okay, come with me."
Rose said goodbye to Misha and Eina who waved at them as she guided Ayanokouji.
"So, you decided to start a little late today? I thought you would come in the morning like yesterday."
Rose asked me as we walked toward the Guild leader's office.
I was a little confused as to which direction this was going. Why would the Guild leader want to talk to me? I didn't do anything very flashy in the view of the others.
"Actually, I decided that I wouldn't go to the Dungeon today. Tell me, for what reason does your boss want to talk to me?"
Although I had an idea of the reason, I still asked that question.
After all, the reason for the actions I took in the Dungeon was to achieve two goals. The second goal was something slated to happen well into the future, but the appearance of the Goblin capable of using fire magic served as a means to speed up the process.
My first goal in the chaos that happened in the Dungeon was to test [Fairy Steps] to use more efficiently when I needed to, and I wasn't going to get into any more situations with unnecessary risks. The Dungeon situation was an exception, however, I would keep a low profile from now on.
As for the second reason...
"I have no idea. But apparently the one who wants to talk to you is Ouranos-sama. My boss dislikes any race that isn't a High Elf or a God, so he would hardly want to talk to a human for himself."
As I thought. Ouranos is responsible for why the monsters can't leave the Dungeon, a very useful piece of information I got from Shakti. And since he is responsible in preventing the monsters from leaving the Dungeon, he must be able to sense when something unusual happens inside the Dungeon.
"That's a bit curious," I commented, "Your boss, he's an Elf, right?"
"Yes. His name is Royman Mardeel, just a piece of information, as I doubt he would let you call him by his name. As much as he is insufferable, he is still my boss. So be careful with your words."
"Very well."
Since she is the counselor who is advising me about the Dungeon, I am technically her client. Because of that, anything rude I say can affect her directly. There is no reason for this, even more so if what she said about him despising the other races except his own and the Gods, I doubt he would want to waste time in a long conversation.
Without much delay, we quickly arrived at the office where the "head" of the Guild is located.
Rose opened the door and entered. I went in right behind.
Upon entering the room of the Guild boss, I am immediately enveloped by an atmosphere charged with arrogance and superiority. The room, adorned with luxurious furniture and ostentatious decorations, seems to reflect the inflated ego of Royman Mardeel himself. The walls are covered with something resembling finely woven tapestries, depicting scenes of glory and triumph of gods and elves, while meticulously carved works of art adorn the corners of the room.
The furniture is made of dark wood and crafted with intricate detail, reflecting the wealth and pomp of the Guild's head. A large oak desk dominates the center of the office, filled with documents and parchments, indicating the constant activity of the Guild. Its polished surface gleams in the light of the chandeliers, creating an atmosphere of authority and control.
Royman Mardeel's sharp, haughty gaze scrutinizes me as I enter the room. His facial features, cold and uncaring, reveal the contempt he has for those who are not gods or elves. It is as if he sees only his own race as worthy of his attention and consideration.
He is just watching me, ignoring Rose as if she doesn't even exist at this moment.
As I observe the room meticulously, I notice small details that show Royman Mardeel's prejudice. Adornments of gods and elves are strategically placed, while the other races seem to be relegated to a secondary existence. It is as if the office is a reflection of its occupant's worldview, a place where only the privileged are recognized.
On the precisely aligned shelves, I see what appear to be "rare" books and some kinds of artifacts. Portraits of illustrious figures from the divine and elven elite adorn the walls, emanating an aura of superiority and ostentation. It is clear that the room was designed to exalt the grandeur of those in privileged positions in society.
"You may leave," he said suddenly.
I knew it was not to me, but Rose. She simply bowed her head and began to leave the room. Before she left, she sent one last look at me. He didn't even send a small glance at her, he kept watching me intently.
If it is true that Ouranos is the one who wants to talk to me, he must be wondering why a divine being that he must exalt wants to talk to an ordinary human.
The silence continued for a few seconds when I finally decided to say something.
"Rose said you wanted to talk to me."
"I would kill myself the day I wanted to talk to a simple disgusting human," he did not hide the contempt in his voice. "However, apparently Ouranos-sama wants to talk to you, which is strange. Why would a divine being be interested in a simple useless human?"
If I were anyone else, I would probably be irritated by the way in which he is talking to me. However, such insults are useless against me.
"How could I know? I only learned about it today and this is my third day in Orario."
He just stood watching me intently, probably looking for some lie in my words. He stood up soon after, and advanced to the door, and without looking back, spoke.
"Let's go. I'll take you to Ouranos-sama. If I hear that you have shown any disrespect in his presence, you can forget about being an adventurer in this Guild."
I didn't answer and just followed him.
The whole time he didn't open his mouth to speak, I also remained silent.
Ouranos' room, known as the Guild Prayer Room, reflects his stoic personality and his tireless dedication to protecting Orario from the dangers of the Dungeon. It is a space of tranquility and serenity, where Ouranos' divine presence is more palpable than ever.
The room is large and dimly lit, with candles as the only illumination, and the walls are clad in luxurious wood. The room is filled with a sacred and reverential atmosphere, inviting contemplation and connection to the divine.
In the center of the room is a magnificent throne, adorned with sacred symbols. It is there that Ouranos spends most of his time, in deep meditation and prayer, using his divinity to keep the Dungeon in check.
The atmosphere in the room is permeated by an almost palpable calm, as Ouranos' divine energy fills the room. The air seems charged with a transcendental serenity, conveying a sense of peace and confidence.
At this moment Ouranos heard footsteps approaching. It wasn't long before Royman appeared, bringing a boy with brown hair and brown eyes with him. The boy was walking with his hands in the pockets of his long pants, along with a flashy red/pink blazer with a tie. It looked like some kind of suit made using different colors.
Certainly something quite eye-catching. However, Ouranos was thinking of something else.
The aura of the fairies around him. It was faint, but seemed to be slowly increasing. And where the aura was mostly concentrated was in one of his hands that was in his pocket. There is no doubt that he knew the fairies.
For her to give something like that to a human...
The question is how and why. The fairies had not been seen for thousands of years, making people think they were extinct, but Ouranos knew they were alive.
Royman and the boy stopped when they stood in front of Ouranos. Royman bowed respectfully, while the boy just watched, apparently curious. Royman turned to Ayanokouji and grimaced, probably due to the fact that he was not showing respect. He was about to speak when Ouranos intervened.
"Royman, good job. You can come back."
"As you wish." He left, not before sending one last terrifying glance at the boy.
Ouranos focused on the boy. He didn't seem intimidated by being in his presence, in fact, he seemed very calm. His countenance showed nothing.
"Hello, kid. I guess you want to know why I called you here, but first of all, how about we introduce ourselves? Even if I imagine you know who I am."
"I am Kiyotaka Ayanokouji. Yes, I have an idea about who you are, Ouranos, the real Guild Master, right?"
"Indeed. So, let's not waste too much time. How did you obtain [Fairy Steps]?"
Ayanokouji didn't seem surprised by the sudden question. He just didn't say anything for a few seconds while Ouranos and he stared at each other, until he finally spoke.
"It was a gift from the Fairy Queen for helping the fairies get rid of some monsters."
He didn't go into much detail, but he still answered the question honestly. Since Ouranos knew about [Fairy Steps], which was technically supposed to be a "secret", it's useless to try to dodge the question, so he took his hand out of his pocket and left the ring on display.
"Are you really saying that Lorelai, the Autumn Fairy Queen, gave you [Fairy Steps] for you helping the fairies with some monsters?" Ouranos, although he was sure of his true answer, still found the whole thing a bit strange.
"Exactly."
"...Very good. If she trusted you with this item, surely she must have a reason."
"You seem to know her."
"Indeed. Although the last time I saw her was many years ago. After that, fairies started disappearing all over the world. So I was very curious when I felt the aura of fairies again after so many years, even more coming from a human." Ouranos looked into Ayanokouji's eyes. "Do you know how that works?"
"I was able to fully understand it recently."
Ouranos' eyes narrowed.
"Yes, yesterday I felt something unusual on the 1st floor of the Dungeon," he began. "It was something I had never felt before on this floor. I also felt the aura of [Fairy Steps] in the same place, so I suppose you can tell me exactly what happened?"
The question was asked with a pang of hostility. The reason was quite obvious.
Ayanokouji slowly took his other hand out of his pants pocket, along with a dark orange stone with a rather strong glow. Ouranos looked at the magic stone with a bit of interest, for it was something never seen before on the 1st floor of the Dungeon.
He had no reason not to cooperate, after all, this would be very beneficial to him in time.
"When I was in the Dungeon, a group of adventurers came to me with the intention of robbing me. I got into a brief fight against them, but something was strange. During the entire fight, the Dungeon was very quiet, not having summoned any monsters."
"Although the Dungeon takes a while to generate monsters if a very strong kill happens, the 1st floor is an exception," Ouranos explained. "I suppose this magic stone is the result of a monster, which I felt more precisely, right?"
"Indeed. However, that was something entirely different. A Goblin close to my size appeared. He looked more like a human than the other Goblins, but what actually happened next was something surprising, as this same Goblin was able to use fire magic, and the same one killed two adventurers."
Ouranos' eyes widened slightly. Ayanokouji was not lying, which was more alarming. A Goblin capable of using fire magic on the 1st floor? That could cause several accidents.
"Were you planning to report this to the Guild?" Ouranos asked.
"No," Ayanokouji replied quickly. "The reason for that is quite simple, people wouldn't believe me even if I talked. Therefore, I decided not to go to the Dungeon today and watch. Apparently, nothing seemed to have happened. However, as much as Goblin's firepower is somewhat alarming, it is still easily killed if to dodge his fire blow is to attack him before he can use another."
Ouranos could understand what he meant. If he simply showed up saying that a Goblin capable of using magic appeared on the 1st floor, people would just laugh. Only a God could tell that he was telling the truth and judge in a serious way. It is about 2:37 pm, a Goblin being able to use fire magic is something that would surely make a noise if it had already appeared. The information that he can be easily killed is a relief.
People go to the Dungeon early, so it would be impossible not to have scandals if the Goblin had shown up. Therefore, he hasn't shown up yet.
"Do you think it has something to do with your presence in the Dungeon?" Ouranos asked after thinking.
"...Probably. But I can't say for sure yet, there are several theories. I will spend the rest of the afternoon watching, if nothing happens today, I will go to the Dungeon tomorrow at a time that doesn't have many people on the 1st floor."
So he plans to see if that monster will appear again?
"You said before that a group of adventurers tried to rob you, right? They who died, but you said the Goblin killed two adventurers."
Ayanokouji knew what Ouranos was asking. If it was just the two, it would have been much easier for Ayanokouji to have said a pair of adventurers, but he mentioned a "group."
"The other adventurer died at the hands of his own companion."
So it was three adventurers. But for what reason would an adventurer kill his own companion?
"I could fully understand recently."
These words from Ayanokouji echoed in Ouranos' mind. He had some idea of exactly what might have happened. However, it was not certain. There's also the fact that Ayanokouji didn't go into detail about it.
"Do you know what the Familia of those three adventurers were?"
"Rose had mentioned that they are from the Soma Familia."
"Ah, I see. The reason for their disappearance not being reported until now makes sense," Ouranos sighed. After a while, he looked at Ayanokouji. "That magic stone, you intend to exchange for valis, right?"
"Yes. I was planning to talk to Rose. Since it's something 'unique' I should get a decent value, right? Currently I need some new clothes."
"Well, it might be beneficial to study that magic stone. I will buy it from you for 10,000 valis. It will be enough for you to buy a few sets of clothes and still have a little left over. What do you think?"
Ayanokouji thought for a while. He was not yet fully aware of the money used in this world compared to his own. However, 10,000 seemed to be plenty for a start, even more so for something achieved on the 1st floor.
"I'll take it."
Ayanokouji brought the magic stone to Ouranos who took it.
"Fels."
A being wearing black robes covering his face, making it impossible to identify his gender or any other features suddenly appeared. He walk over to Ayanokouji who was watching without saying anything and offered him a small bag, which, upon looking, he realized was valis.
"There are 10,000 valis in this bag. Our conversation is over, and I have the impression that you have memorized the way back, you can go and finish doing what you plan to do."
Without wasting any time, Ayanokouji said goodbye and quickly left the room. A minute later, Ouranos turned to Fels and asked a question.
"What do you think?"
"He doesn't show any kind of expression on his face, it's something very strange. But I can't help feeling that he is dangerous," Fels spoke up.
"Indeed," Ouranos agreed. "He is a very big mystery. A human who just arrived in Orario, caused the Dungeon to spawn a new kind of monster, and still possesses the rarest artifact a Fairy Queen can offer someone. Since the existence of fairies, a Queen has never given anything to anyone, not even the gods, but this human got the most powerful artifact that was in the hands of the Autumn Fairy Queen."
If the Summer, Primava and Winter Fairy Queens hear about this, they will surely be curious about this human. And if by some chance, they decided to give their artifacts to him as well...
Ouranos didn't even want to imagine this. Fairy Steps is powerful enough if used right.
"He didn't seem terrified that the adventurers died in front of him, which means he seems to be used to death, or maybe something else. Also, he is quite clever and seems to be planning something," Ouranos commented.
"What do you mean by that?" Fels asked.
"His goal was to find me from the beginning. He clearly already knew about me."
Since Ouranos wanted to talk to him because of the fairy aura he felt emanating from Ayanokouji, it certainly made everything easier for him.
"...If that is the case, where exactly was he getting at with that conversation?"
"I don't know entirely. But building relationships directly with the Guild seems like a pretty good thing, don't you think?" Ouranos commented mysteriously.
"Maybe," Fels commented and said nothing more after that.
Ouranos didn't know what Kiyotaka Ayanokouji's plans were. But the boy was certainly planning something. What it really is, Ouranos cannot say for sure. What kind of information could he have gleaned from this conversation that could be considered important to him?
Ouranos couldn't shake the feeling that something big would happen in Orario in the future.
He just hopes it will be something good.
After saying goodbye to Rose and her friends, I left the Guild.
I took the opportunity to pay for the two knives I rented from the clan with the money I received.
Rose and the other two, Eina and Misha were curious about what I had talked about with Ouranos. I just told them some unimportant things. Rose seems to be the only one who realized that I was lying and that I didn't want to tell the truth, but she didn't say anything about it.
In fact, I plan to tell Rose some things in the future. She will be the best person I can use within the Guild, but building a true friendship is something that will take time, it can't be done overnight. Unless an event occurred that would cause her impression of me to increase greatly, of course.
During my conversation with Ouranos, I got some good information. One piece of information that I find quite interesting was the fact that Ouranos apparently could only feel the aura of [Fairy Steps] and that Goblin. That is, he did not sense the three adventurers of the Soma Familia. It seems that he is not able to sense everything.
There are many things to think about, but I will leave that for another time. I will use this moment to make use of the money given to me by the Goblin's magic stone. It's time to buy some clothes. I remembered the stores that Shakti had shown me earlier, so I didn't waste any time.
The store I was going to was near the same place as the pub where that elf from the book worked. I walked past the pub and as I was heading toward the store, a voice stopped me.
"Hey, you!"
Looking back, I saw a familiar character from the book.
She has gray-blue hair that she keeps tied up in a small knot in a ponytail style. Her eyes are the same color as her hair and she has smooth skin of a light peach color. She wears a white blouse and a long leaf-colored skirt at knee height. She also wears a slightly long half apron around her waist. She wears a pair of brown boots over black socks.
"Is something wrong?"
"Could you be hungry? If so, I recommend our pub, it has very good food!"
Attracting customers is a normal thing among employees, however, I knew there was something more to it. This is the same character who lied by saying that the protagonist had dropped a magic stone, although the same protagonist was too naive to realize this and just accepted it.
"Sorry, I'm not hungry. I am currently going to buy some clothes."
"Please? Just a little experimentation, I'm sure you'll love it. Mama Mia's food is very good!"
She is very insistent. You can see why the protagonist could not refuse her the few times she appeared. However, I had no plans to eat at the pub yet.
"I'm sorry. Maybe another time," I started to walk away.
She raised her voice but said nothing for a few seconds. When I was a good distance away, she called out.
"I forgot to introduce myself, I am Syr Flova!"
I just raised my hand in sign that I had heard.
After that, I quickly arrived and entered the store. I didn't waste much time in looking for the cheap clothes in my size. After a few minutes of browsing, I picked up three sets of casual clothes. I chose based on the clothes that I saw most people wearing when walking down the street.
After that I quickly paid, the three sets of clothes cost 4,300 valis. I can't accurately tell if it was too expensive or cheap, but since I had about 10,000 before the purchase, that still leaves me with 4,700 valis left. From what I saw while walking around, the food prices are low.
After I left the store, I spent the rest of the day walking around the city, I stayed near the Tower of Babel, looking to see if I could hear anything. If a Goblin using fire magic appeared to anyone else, the newbies would surely run out screaming.
However, nothing happened for the rest of the afternoon.
The next day, close to dark I decided to enter the 1st floor of the Dungeon. There was no evidence of a Goblin using fire magic in the Dungeon. Today I would make sure about this.
I am also no longer wearing my school uniform, but a set of black clothes. The only thing I was still wearing was my shoes.
As I entered the first floor, I saw that there were still some adventurers. I ignored them and quickly began to kill the monsters. When today's kill count reached 30, I started to kill the monsters more slowly. The Fire Goblin from before appeared when I killed 49 monsters, the Goblin being the 50 count.
However, since it was the first time, I couldn't be sure if he would appear before or after, so I slowed down until all the adventurers on the 1st floor were gone, and then I increased the pace again.
I was also using the bag that was given to me along with the 10,000 valis to collect the magic stones.
"48."
When the Goblin tried to attack me, I easily dodged and stuck the knife in its neck, bringing the count to 49 monsters killed today, adding up when I came the first time, 99 monsters on the 1st floor. I quickly looked around the Dungeon and there were still few monsters and nothing happened, but after a few seconds, I felt it.
The same heat as before, in the same way. The dark figure taking a shape, seemed to be the same as before, so I didn't have to worry about a different monster appearing. I didn't waste much time and approached the dark figure taking shape, and when the Goblin appeared, I attacked its neck with the knife.
The monster looked at me, probably with a bit of surprise. I wasn't going to just let it start using its fire attacks. This delay in taking shape is a great weakness, because I was already ready to attack him as soon as he appeared. However, it seemed a little faster for the figure to take shape than last time, so I would keep an eye on that.
After this, I decided that it was time to leave the Dungeon for the day.
I was already confident that this monster was only generated thanks to me, but I couldn't rule out that this would change in the future. You never know what might happen and, like it or not, just the fact that I was in the Dungeon and made it generate this different monster is an action that generates change.
From that the next day, I followed the same steps and went to the Dungeon every day at a similar time.
The next day I also killed 50 Goblins with the same Fire Goblin being generated. However, from my fourth day in the Dungeon, I started killing 80 monsters.
320.
400.
500.
And, when the count of monsters killed reached 550.
"Hm?"
I looked over and saw a different creature. A monster that looks like a rooster with fluffy yellow-green feathers. It matches the description. After hearing about this monster, I asked for some additional information on my trips to the Guild to exchange magic stones for Valis.
While it is not aggressive, it is incredibly fast and will run away if it senses any enemies.
My target finally showed up.
It's a little quiet today.
Well, being that it's still 7 o'clock in the morning, that's to be expected, I guess.
As I was setting up the counter where I stood to serve the adventurers, the door to the Guild was opened. Familiar brown eyes and hair came into my vision.
It had been about a week since I started counseling him, and, he was still coming back in one piece without a scratch. I guess it makes sense though, as he said he was only staying on the 1st floor of the Dungeon to test that theory of his. I still didn't fully believe that.
"Hello, Rose."
He greeted me.
"Hello, Kiyotaka. You came early today."
He was not wearing the luxurious suit he was wearing the first day he and I met. His blouse was black and you could see a bit of his muscles, his pants were also black, but seemed to be made by a comfortable material.
"Yes, there is something I wanted to talk to you about. Is it okay if we go to a private room?"
I noticed that he was holding a bag in one of his hands. Probably the magic stones from yesterday. In a few days I learned that he goes to the Dungeon almost every night and stays there until the afternoon, so he always comes to the Guild from 9 to 10 in the morning to exchange the magic stones for Valis. But today he came much earlier.
However, what does he want to talk to me about that is private? Maybe he just comes to ask for additional information. This is a common thing coming from him, because even if he was on the 1st floor, he still asked for information from the next floors. This was not a problem, in fact, it was a very good thing, as it would help a lot when he went on those floors.
"Sure, wait a minute." I to Eina who was standing a little close by. "Eina, I will go talk to my adventurer. I don't know how long it will last, but can you take care of my part too until I get back?"
She turned to me. "Ah, Rose. Sure, no problem."
With that he and I walked to one of the private rooms. I noticed that Eina waved to him and he reciprocated. During his time coming to the Guild, he has talked a bit with my co-workers, especially Eina and Misha, so it wouldn't be ridiculous to say that everyone here already knows a bit about him.
The walk to the private room lasted a few minutes, and during that time he didn't say anything.
When we entered the room, I asked.
"What do you want to talk about?"
"It's about this."
He handed me the bag. I looked strange, but seeing how that as permission I opened the bag and was immediately surprised.
"This...!"
Although there were some magic stones in the pouch, what surprised me was something else."
"Jack Bird's Golden Egg. The monster appeared yesterday."
He really got it...
"Wait, so your theory was right?" I couldn't help but ask.
"There's no way to be sure. The monster appeared after I killed 550 monsters on the 1st floor. But since this was the first time, there's no way to be sure. If it happens a second time, it can be considered a coincidence, a third time is a clear pattern."
"Wait, so you are going to test this twice more?"
"Probably, but not for now. I plan to go to the next floors of the Dungeon in the next few days. The reason I show you the item first is so that you can exchange it for me without attracting attention. If I simply showed the item to exchange with the person in charge at the Guild, it would be noisy."
So he doesn't want to draw attention, huh. He didn't do a very good job in the first few days, though.
If this theory of his is really right, then this information could be sold for a fortune, if confirmed by the Guild itself. However, I don't think he will do such a thing, as it would fill up with adventurers on the 1st floor chasing the monster.
"However, even if I get the money, it would still be a very large amount, it's 1,000,000 valis. There's no way you can leave with that amount without drawing attention."
"I know. But you told me once that it is possible to open a personal Familia vault once a certain amount was reached, right?"
I told him about the safe in one of the lectures, when he asked me if it was possible to open one. To open a personal vault one needs to have at least 500,000 Valis. If someone wanted to donate some money to someone else, then any amount is worth, in which case the money goes into a vault of the Guild itself.
But for him to have asked that beforehand, did he plan to do that from the beginning?
"Yes, do you want to keep the money in a personal safe?"
"Yes, I will not be using the money immediately, so it will be safer to stay here."
"If it's not too intrusive, could you answer me what you plan to do with this money?"
I don't think he will want to retire as was the case with that adventurer, since he himself said he would be going to the next floors in the next few days.
"No problem. I plan to use most of the money to renovate the place that Hestia and I live."
"I see. In that case, let's go back to the front, so you can fill in some information to create your Familia's personal vault."
I was finishing filling out the things needed to make the Hestia Familia staff vault. Since it is a Familia safe, Hestia also needed to sign some things, but that didn't stop me from being able to keep Jack Bird's money in the safe. Rose also managed to exchange the Golden Egg for the Valis without attracting attention, which was very nice.
I also needed to think about my next steps from now on. Freya was still watching me and I could feel that she was becoming more and more intrigued. I need to solve this soon.
Visiting the place where the elf in the book works is also something I plan to do. I have not yet contacted anyone from the Loki Familia. Although I don't plan to talk to them directly, it was expected that I would bump into one of them while I was walking around the city, but that didn't happen.
I handed the documents I had filled out to Rose. She took it and read it before handing me another sheet.
"Tell your Goddess to sign here and then come and hand me the sheet, so that your Familia's safe is fully accepted by the Guild."
"Very well."
I kept the sheet in my pocket, and at that moment I heard the Guild door being opened.
Normally, I wouldn't mind this since it's probably just an adventurer, but when I saw the look on her face going to the door and showing complete surprise, I was curious. My curiosity only increased when I saw with peripheral vision that Eina and Misha, who were not far away, also looked a little surprised.
Eina looked at me and pointed back.
Curiosity took over and I was about to turn around when I heard the familiar voice.
"But look at you, you seem to have adjusted quite well already."
The man's shoulder-length magenta hair and black eyes looked directly at me. The smile on his face was visible to all, along with his hands in his pockets. He was exuding a frightening aura, causing some of the normal employees near the door to turn away.
The reason for Rose's and the others' surprise was quite obvious.
The man was wearing the same uniform as I was when I arrived here, the uniform from my old school. Advanced Nurturing High School.
He and I stared at each other for what seemed like several minutes, all the while sensing the gaze of Rose and the others on me.
I was very confused, wondering how and why the hell he was here.
After we stared at each other for a while longer, he finally spoke with a smile on his face.
"Kukuku. What's the matter, cat got your tongue? Or maybe you're just surprised as hell?"
"Ryuuen..."
When I said his name, he started walking and stood a few feet away from me. Still with a smile, he spoke again.
"What's up, how are you, you fucking monster? Having fun?"
It seemed that things only got more problematic.
Well, that's it. Tell me what you thought of this chapter.
Was this ending with Ryueen unexpected? If you're a careful reader of Wattpad who looks at the tags, you'll notice that his name has been there since the first chapter. So it's pretty obvious that I had plans to bring him in from the beginning. However, I will already say that it will only be him, I do not plan to bring in any other characters from Classroom of The Elite.
I already have plans for Ryueen, and the biggest reason I brought him in was because I think his dynamics are very good, the conversations he has with Ayanokouji are also great, funny, and for the most part, quite interesting. He is one of the few characters that when he appears without having the protagonist in the middle in the Light Novel, I don't mind and read the whole thing with a smile on my face.
However, I will already warn you that he will not be in the same Familia as Ayanokouji. It will be shown in the next chapter.
How the hell did he get there and why? It will also be explained later.
I'm sure there will be people who will love it and others who will hate this choice to have brought Ryueen into the world of Danmachi as well . But I don't plan on taking screen time away from Ayanokouji or anything, things still happened similarly to the last few chapters. But there will be some arcs involving both Ryuuen and Ayanokouji, which will be quite interesting. Basically, wait a few chapters before you judge or kill me, please.
As I said before, I'm getting back into writing the character of Ayanokouji, so if there's anything too off about how he acts, give me a break. I agree that he has loosened up a bit in these last chapters, but everything has a reason. You can't just think that Ayanokouji will act 100% as he does in the Light Novel, right? He is in a totally different world, different circumstances, so expect him to behave differently in some scenarios as well.
And before you judge, saying things like "Brother, that doesn't make sense, why would he do something like that, that's not Ayanokouji", wait at least a few chapters beforehand, because you will most likely get your answers. In case it doesn't happen, then you can send your criticism, but as I said before, wait a few chapters...
Well, that's it. Comment a few things about this chapter. In the next chapter, Ayanokouji finally goes to Host of Fertility, so wait :)
See you next chapter!
