The sky is clear; not a single speck of white in the sky. The sun beams straight down and creates a slight heatwave, but nothing unbearable. There is a slight breeze to keep everything at a comfortable temperature, but nothing too harsh.
It is a great day. It is also a perfect day for such an easy mission like this. A simple dungeon delve. And with friends too.
Asta and Yuno are arguing, again, Noelle is talking with Mimosa, and Klaus is simply watching over them all and their surroundings.
"–jerk! You can't keep using that as an answer to every argument! I may be short, but I'm at the perfect height to kick you in the–"
"Asta!" Noelle hisses out, having just stopped walking.
Asta turns her head with a frown and her mouth open to retort when she notices her partner and Mimosa looking down the unkempt path they were taking. She jogs over and peeks her head over Noelle's shoulder and smiles brightly.
The dungeon entrance was off to the right of the path, somewhat hidden, but clear enough if someone was looking for it. Asta gives Noelle a quick hug with a celebratory laugh.
"Nice going, Noelle! Klaus! Yuno! The dungeon's over here!" Asta states loudly, making Mimosa and Noelle wince at their extremely close proximity.
Noelle punches her partner in the head with an aggressive shush. "Be more quiet, Stupidsta! We don't know who else knows about this dungeon!"
"It's not like we can do anything about it now." Yuno walks past Asta without a simple glance. "She's probably let everyone in a three mile radius know where we are."
"You little–" Asta is about to run forward and pounce on the taller teenager with a headlock when Noelle quickly grabs the back of her Black Bulls robe and hits her on the head, again.
"Now is not the time for any fighting, Yuno," Noelle hisses once more, glaring at the quiet character that is Asta's brother.
"My Yuno would never get into any fights, you little brat!" Bell, Yuno's wind spirit, exclaims with her arms crossed from her sitting position on Yuno's shoulder.
"Who are you calling a brat, you little insect?! I'm royalty! You have no right to speak to me that way!" Noelle shouts loudly, making Mimosa and Klaus sigh. There goes any more of their chances at being able to get into the dungeon quietly.
"Little insect?! Who cares if you're royalty!" Bell shouts back.
"Quiet! I expect this from the Black Bulls, but the Golden Dawn must be better, Yuno! Control your spirit," Klaus admonishes with an adjustment to his glasses. Yuno just hums, purposely turning his head away from Klaus's direction.
"Yuno! Are you listening to me?" Klaus demands loudly, making Noelle sighs heavily with a shared exasperated glance with Mimosa.
"You need to be quieter too, Klaus," Mimosa points out with a hidden smile.
Noelle rolls her eyes and starts walking faster, dragging Asta along with her since she was still holding onto her robe. "Anyone inside the dungeon probably already knows we're here, so let's get going! Such a mission is beneath me, so I'd like to finish it quickly."
"Noelle! It's been so long since we've all been on a mission together! Aren't you excited about that?" Asta asks as she's dragged with the royal to the dungeon entrance.
"As if royalty like me would be excited on such an easy mission!" Noelle huffs, turning her nose up with a bright flush growing on her cheeks.
"Alright, let's focus! Even if this is an easy mission, we are still outside of the Clover Kingdom and we don't know if anyone is inside the dungeon or if they've already reached the treasure vault!" Klaus states, bringing all attention to him. The light-hearted atmosphere fades away as everyone becomes serious.
Despite it feeling so long ago, none of them have forgotten their first dungeon delve. That was meant to be an easy mission too... and half of their group almost died.
"We'll stick together as a group. Mimosa, you will be in the middle with the guidepost. Asta will be in front with Noelle and Yuno on the left and right respectively. I'll be behind Mimosa. We must stay on our guard. Does everyone understand?"
Yuno, Noelle, and Mimosa nod their heads. "Yes."
"Yep!" Asta exclaims brightly with a slight bounce. The seven bags, specifically created for secure storage, swing from her shoulders.
"Alright. Let's go."
A new dungeon has appeared outside of the Clover Kingdom's northeastern border. Three members of the Golden Dawn and two members of the Black Bulls have been sent to explore and collect any relics or treasure inside the dungeon.

"Yami, are you sure Noelle and Asta will be okay?" Finral Roulacase, the Black Bulls' resident worrywart, questions the Captain of the Black Bulls as he reads the newspaper.
"If you ask me one more time, I'll kill you," Yami Sukehiro growls with an irritated glare pointed at the spatial mage.
Finral raises his hands with a sheepish smile. "Eheheh! No need to go that far, Yami! I'm just–"
Finral bites his lip and glances down at the ground. Yami lowers his newspaper with a sigh and an eye roll.
"They're with those idiots from Golden Dawn." Yami takes out his cigarette. "Besides, they're much too strong for a mission like this. The only reason they're going is because we don't have the manpower to send any newbies."
"Yeah... yeah, you're right. I'm just worried. After the whole Devil Believers–" Finral clicks his tongue, showcasing his rarely seen annoyance "–I know they're strong. And they'll be on their guard... I just feel like... I guess I'm just paranoid. Asta's on the mission after all."
Yami snorts and focuses back on his newspaper. That's putting it fucking lightly.
Put Asta on a mission and something will go wrong, or something will blow up... or both. Poor kid has the worst luck in the entire world; Yami wouldn't be surprised if this mission ended up leading to another fight against a terrorist group.
"Oh yeah. There's some more paperwork that got delivered half an hour ago," Yami says, shaking himself out of his morbid thoughts. Finral gives him a dry look.
"Paperwork that a captain should be doing, yes?" Finral retorts, only to pale when the captain gives him a death glare.
"What the hell'd you say?"
"Nothing! I'll go get started right away, Captain!" Finral forms a portal behind him and jumps through before Yami could even move.
Yami huffs out a laugh before he closes his newspaper. He gets up with a grunt and starts to trudge through the Black Bulls Base. He needs to take a dump.
Asta jumps forward with a war cry and slams her great sword against two of the bandits. The protective goo around them cracks and shatters before the sword slams into the bandits. They rocket through the air and break through the wall of the dungeon.
Asta uses her momentum to twist in the air, dodging an ice spear aimed at her head. She tilts her sword and the spear bounces off to shoot back at the bandit who tried to kill her.
"Wind Magic: Gale White Bow!" Asta presses her hand against the ground and pushes up, flipping back to land on her feet. She leans back to avoid the three whirlwind arrows flying over her before she glances over at her rival.
"Stop getting in my way, shrimp," Yuno calls out with a cool smirk.
Asta rolls her eyes with a grin as she stands back up. "There's plenty of other bandits around, jerk."
Asta sprints forward, jumping out of the way as multiple ice spears shoot towards her. She raises her great sword above her head and throws it towards the bandit, letting one of the spears slice her bicep.
The bandit screams before crouching to avoid the quickly approaching sword. As it imbeds into the stone wall behind, the bandit snaps his head up, only to be punched through the wall by Asta's fist.
Noelle suddenly flies past with a war cry of her own, using her water lance to knock out three bandits. She flies up to avoid small, rapid fire bullets, flying in circles in her Valkyrie Dress.
She easily flies around an energy beam from Mimosa's Magic Cannon Flower and the bandit that got hit by it. Mimosa keeps her eyes constantly moving between her group in case of any injuries. The Control Magic Grass she had embedded into Klaus's Steel Castle's Armored Wall swings the shield to cover her and her offensive spell from a large boulder.
"Steel Creation Magic: Violent Rotating Lance!" Three rotating lances sprout from the ground and attack the bandit who shot the large boulder towards the healer mage. "Mimosa! Are you okay?"
"Yes! Thank you, Klaus!" Mimosa calls out before she fires another energy beam towards the bandits charging towards Asta and Yuno.
They barely took a step through the entrance into the dungeon's first floor when they were attacked by a decently sized group of bandits who had set up camp inside. Unsurprising since the dungeon had been reported almost a week ago. They had already beaten most of the camp when the group the bandits likely sent to explore came back and attacked.
It was to be expected honestly. Asta's a part of the mission, after all. Something unexpected always happens on her missions. At least it had been a second wave of bandits instead of a bandit with a relic or a dangerous magic item. It seems the bandits have yet to find the treasure vault.
Asta swings her sword and rests it against her shoulder, not even out of breath. Five bandits surrounded her, unconscious and quite injured.
"I think that's all of 'em," Asta states, lifting her head to look back at the rest of her group.
Noelle slowly floats back down to the ground while Mimosa rushes forward, her Magic Cannon Flower disappearing and her Princess-Healing Flower Robe slowly sprouting over her clothes.
"Let me heal any injuries! We still have the entire dungeon to explore," Mimosa states as she begins to heal the minor slices across Asta's arms and the slightly deeper gash through her shoulder.
Klaus adjusts his glasses, letting his spells fade. "That was quite a large bandit camp. Yuno, do you sense anyone else?"
"No."
"There's no one else!" Yuno and Asta speak at the same time. Yuno glares at the silver haired teenager and scowls when Asta simply sticks her tongue out at him.
"They came from the path straight ahead," Noelle glances around at the multiple pathways to trek further into the dungeon. "Unless it branches into more paths, I think we can mark it off."
Klaus nods his head while Mimosa walks over to Yuno. The black haired teenager only had a slightly deep cut across his thigh; it was close to his artery though and Mimosa doesn't want to take any chances.
"Did your captain tell you how much you can fit in those bags, Asta?" Klaus asks, turning towards the short girl. Asta tilts her head in thought as she puts her sword back into her grimoire.
Yami had given her the seven bags that the Wizard King wanted her to have for this mission. They were designed to only open by a word key, or immense damage. While this mission was easy, completing it would help Clover Kingdom financially.
"I don't think so... I guess we'll just have to find out!" Asta shrugs with a grin.
Noelle huffs with a flick of her hair. "Of course you wouldn't pay attention to Captain Yami's explanation."
"You weren't listening either!" Asta shouts loudly, making the silver haired royal harrumph.
"It's not like I'm the one Yami tasked with carrying the bags! I'm royalty! Being a pack mule is beneath me!" Noelle retorts with a flick of her hair.
Yuno rolls his eyes, not even surprised. "Did you at least pay attention to get the word key, Stupidsta?"
"Of course I did!" Asta crosses her arms with a huff. "Finral reminded me before we left to get you guys!"
Mimosa, Klaus, and Noelle sweatdrop at the statement. So, she didn't pay attention and Finral knew she wouldn't. Yuno's pinched expression tells them all that he knows that too.
"Noelle, do you have any injuries?" Mimosa changes the subject before a fight could break out between the two peasants, again.
"No, I'm fine, Mimosa," Noelle says with a thankful and exasperated expression. Yuno's and Asta's rivalry can get exasperating on the best of days; today is not one of those days.
"If everyone's healed, we should head for the treasure vault. Who knows how many others are on their way here," Klaus states as he pushes up his glasses.
Mimosa smiles, quickly hiding it by turning her head when Klaus turns towards her. The healing spell dissolves and her Magic Flower Guidepost quickly forms in front of her.
She stares at the golden blueprint before nodding her head. "The dungeon seems to be a moving maze. Right now, if we take the left path, we'll be heading directly towards the treasure vault."
"Let's go. Yuno," Klaus calls out and turns towards Yuno, only to find him already standing on top of his Heavenly Wind Ark with Asta.
"I know," Yuno states, making Klaus's eyebrow twitch.
"It's rude to form a spell before I tell you to do so! I am still your senior, Yuno!" Klaus berates loudly as he marches towards the wind ark. Yuno simply blinks before turning to face forward.
"Yuno! Are you listening to me?! Yuno!"
"I can't ignore you when you're being this loud."
Asta can't believe how easy this mission has been. None of her missions have really been this easy; well, none of the dungeon delving ones. To be fair, she's only been a part of four dungeon delving missions since she became a Magic Knight and that's including the attack on the Eye of the Midnight Sun's base.
Her first dungeon ended up having a battle against Mars and that smoke dude from Diamond and half of them almost died, including her; the second also had Luck as her senior and the amount of times he had her trip up the pitfall traps still made her back weep in pain; the third she was unfortunate enough to go with Gauche and the only thing that made it a hard mission was the fact that Gauche kept trying to kill her; and of course the whole disaster in the Eye of the Midnight Sun's base speaks for itself.
As Asta stares down at the weird geometric relic with a weird diamond held in its hollow center, she wonders if dungeon delves are meant to be this easy. Or at least, easier than almost dying by a reincarnated race or by her own squad mates.
Asta's eyes narrow as she inspects the geometric cube. "Something doesn't feel right. This is too easy... isn't it?"
"Asta, you idiot!" Noelle's shout snaps the silver haired teenager out of her thoughts. "Let's go! The dungeon might collapse any second now that we have all of the relics!"
"I know! I'm coming!" Asta shouts back before she gives the relic in her hands one more glance. She sighs quietly and stuffs it into one of the bags she's carrying before she starts to jog over to where everyone was waiting for her on Yuno's wind ark.
"Bullhorn," Asta whispers the word key and locks the three bags she carried, securing the treasure and the four relics her and the rest of the group managed to fit inside.
"You've got to stop spacing out, Stupidsta!" Noelle scolds with a glare before huffing and turning to face forward once Asta jumps onto the wind ark. Asta simply smiles sheepishly while she scratches the back of her head.
"Sorry, sorry! I was just thinking about how this mission was–well, doesn't it seem a bit too easy?" Asta states, making Noelle roll her eyes.
"You're just too strong. You're stupidly strong, Stupidsta. This isn't any harder than our previous dungeon delves." Noelle waves away Asta's concerns.
"N-Noelle's right! And we've all gotten stronger since we last worked together in a dungeon delving mission!" Mimosa reassures brightly with reddening ears.
"You're too paranoid for someone as stupid as you," Yuno insults without hesitation.
Asta scowls and jabs her elbow into Yuno's side. "You're too cocky for someone as shy as you!"
"I'm not shy."
"Yes, you are!"
"Am not."
"Are too!"
"Am not."
"You so are–"
"Both of you, shut up!" Klaus punches both Yuno's and Asta's heads. Asta cries out and places her hands on top of her head while Yuno turns to glare at his senior squad mate.
"Klaus, you meanie! That hurt!" Asta exclaims loudly with a pout.
"Hn," Yuno agrees before he dissipates his transportation spell.
They were back on the first floor. The bandits were still unconscious, but it looks like quite a few got up and ran away. The cowards.
"Now is not the time for arguments! We have to get these relics back to the kingdom immediately!" Klaus scolds with a stern glare before he starts marching towards the pathway back to the outside. Asta continues to pout as she follows the blue haired man.
"Maybe not immediately. We still have to go back to the town Finral brought us to, and then call Finral to take us back." Noelle follows her partner, Mimosa and Yuno walking just a few paces behind.
"He's probably doing some paperwork for Yami. Oh! Or maybe he's on a mission?" Asta questions brightly before she walks backwards to face the rest of the group while walking besides Klaus.
"He's probably flirting with some poor girl he spotted in the market," Noelle states with an eye roll.
"Oh yeah..." Asta tilts her head up as she spins around. Sunlight starts to fill her vision as she walks closer to the dungeon entrance.
"It's hard to believe that you Bulls helped save the kingdom with how crass you all are!" Klaus adjusts his glasses with a sniff.
"I think it's charming... in a way!" Mimosa exclaims cheerfully. "There will always be a squad of black sheep–or bulls–in Clover! I'm sure they have some redeeming qualities!"
Asta grins brightly, completely missing Mimosa's accidental insult. She steps outside, reaching up to brush some of her bangs out of her eyes.
"The Black Bulls have their quirks, but they're good people!"
"That's putting it lightly..." Noelle mumbles under her breath with a sweatdrop.
An ex-convict with a sister complex, a spatial mage who flirts instinctively, a drunk witch, a battle maniac, a gangster, the shyest woman in the world, the biggest foodie, a bird, a man who can't leave the base, a creepy hex expert, a failed royal, a Magic Knight born without magic, a practical jokester and an expert in insults, and a captain who either sleeps, goes to the restroom, or threatens to kill his squad members.
Yes. All of them are simply just a bit quirky.
"The Black Bulls are still the worst Magic Knights Squad," Yuno points out coolly.
Asta whirls around with a scowl and points at the black haired teenager. "Finral told me that if we didn't have negative stars, we would have been–"
Something catches the light behind Asta before something slices across Yuno's cheek. Blood soars through the air and splatters across Klaus's and Yuno's robes and hands, Mimosa's face, and Noelle's hair and face.
Asta collapses to the ground like a limp doll. Her head slams against a rock, causing more blood to splat out from the hole that went through her head.
Asta was right. This mission was too easy. This mission was also an ambush. A successful one.
It should be advised that there have been possible sightings of Diamond mages near the northeastern border of Clover Kingdom. Extreme caution is advised.

Hey! Hope you all like the new story! A bit on the shorter side for the first chapter compared to my other stories, but... well I hope you all can see why I wanted to end the chapter where I ended it... hehehe. ›:3
The only reason I have this story as fem Asta is because I imagined this idea with fem Asta in mind. When I was thinking of the idea, I was debating between putting it in "Star-like" or making it its own fic. As you can see, I've decided to make it its own fic.
Well, I won't keep you all any further from your plans to murder me and freak out over where I had ended the chapter!
Hope you all enjoy your suffering! Bye.
