Author's Notes: I know I told you people that I would post a new chapter soon. But it's just that, I am in the final year of my school. I have to concentrate on that as well as this. I saw how many views I have daily from people just waiting for a new chapter. I am very happy about it. But I have to concentrate on my studies so I can pass my exams and get into the college/ university of my choice. I am not saying that I am stopping this story because that is the last thing I want to do, I am just saying that the updates will be a little slow. I will still try to keep it as one update per month and if possible twice a month. But please understand that if I have not posted in a long time it is because I am busy completing my assignments and studying for exams. I know that I should have posted something to tell you about this sooner but I just don't want to fill the story with author's notes saying that I will post a chapter soon. So I had updated my bio in hopes that you guys would read that and know why I haven't posted. Well anyway, leave all that, here is the next chapter. Please tell me what you think about in reviews.
Summary: He fought in the second titan war but not for the gods. No, he fought for the friends he made at camp, his home. He fought for the friends who soon became family. In the second giant war he fought again for his family, his home but also for the new home he found, and the new friends he made. They won battles side by side. But what will happen when there is a new threat to his family, his home? Will his love for them bring him back? Or will their betrayal be the cause of their destruction?
* Previously *
Zeus was happy that his daughter had another to live but was worried that Kronos had another chance to control the Prophecy. Poseidon was sad that his future self did not call Percy to see the underwater palace. Those who did not know how Thalia was revived were shocked to hear.
After everyone was done thinking Zeus sent everyone to go to sleep.
* Now *
When everyone had breakfast and had settled down in the Throne room on the couches summoned by Hestia, Aphrodite picked up the book and began reading the first chapter.
Ch-1 My Rescue Operation Goes Very Wrong
(Sally tells Annabeth and Thalia every embarrassing story about Percy on the way to Westover hall. When inside the trio get intercepted by a teacher and the vice-principal, Thalia controls the mist to convince the teacher that they were the students there. Grover comes and tells them that he found two half-bloods there, a brother and sister who were very strong. The vice-principal turns out to be the monster, to throw him off their scent they decide to dance. Percy and Annabeth dance, she tells him about her father moving to San Francisco. Bianca and Nico are no longer at the dance so Annabeth runs to find Grover and Thalia while Percy sees where Dr. Thorn was taking the kids so he followed them. Percy finds the kids but Dr. Thorn throws some kind of spike which pins Percy to the wall. Thorn threatens them to follow him.)
Thalia, Grover and Nico looked at Percy to see if he was okay, but he did not meet anyone's eyes and glared at the floor while rubbing his left shoulder, where the spike had impaled his skin. He still blamed himself for the capture of Annabeth and death of Bianca. Nico knew what had happened and had stopped blaming Percy a long time ago. He had promised to try his best, which he did.
Hades was shocked that his brother's son tried to save his kids. Zeus was shocked that the kids were the same age when he had tried to kill seventy years back, because he was scared of the Prophecy. He still regretted his misjudgment which had caused the life of the two kid's mother, but it's not like he was going to admit that to his older brother to raise his ego.
Ch-2 The Vice Principal Gets a Missile Launcher
(Percy tries to contact Grover using the Empathy link that Grover had created the previous summer. Thorn takes them to a cliff, Percy figures out that Thorn worked for Luke. A Helicopter is on its way, when Thorn says something about some great string and the General. Annabeth, Thalia and Grover arrive, Thalia and Grover fight Thorn who was distracted as Annabeth had just knocked Percy and Di Angelo siblings to the ground. Thalia and Grover fight Thorn, when he changes to his true form he turns to Percy Annabeth and the Di Angelo's, Percy remembers his own shield and activates it. Thorn asks them to yield but they refuse, Thorn was about to kill them when the horn of hunt blew and the Huntresses of Artemis arrived. Zoe askes Artemis for permission to kill, Thorn tries to kill Percy and Thalia but Annabeth jumps on his back. When Annabeth does not get off his back, the hunters fire their arrows at Thorn, who in order to save his life jumps off the cliff with Annabeth still on his back. When Percy tries to run after Annabeth some hunters stop him, so he asks who are you, to which the little girl answers that she is the goddess Artemis.)
The gods and goddess were shocked that Artemis did not kill Percy for the disrespect, though Athena was more shocked about the fact that Percy cared about her daughter that he was willing to jump off a cliff after her daughter. Thalia, Nico Grover and the hunters looked at Percy in sympathy because they knew that this reminded him of Tartarus.
The Demigods were shocked about what happened, Broody was about to shout that it was Percy's fault that they were in trouble when his brain pointed out that if not for Percy the others would not have known where Thorn had taken the Di Angelo's. Though all the demigods were more shocked that he would go against the man hating goddess just to save Annabeth. This shock made something inside Annabeth snap which caused her to remember that he had sneaked on another quest just to come for her.
Ch-3 Bianca di Angelo Makes a Choice
(Bianca does not believe that there are gods but Nico gets excited after learning this. Artemis tell them that because of some magic Annabeth has vanished. They explain Bianca and Nico about gods and everything. Thalia and Percy try to convince Bianca to come back to camp with them, but Artemis interferes takes Bianca away to talk to her while Thalia blames Percy for Annabeth being gone. The hunters set up camp, Percy believes that it was his fault that Annabeth was gone. One hunters bring Percy his bag and Grover dresses his wound. Nico shows Percy his collection and continues to all the questions including the one where he asked weather Annabeth was Percy's girlfriend. Zoe comes and takes Percy as Artemis wants to speak with him. Artemis askes Percy about the encounter with the manticore. Artemis asks Percyto escort the Hunters to camp, then askes Bianca whether she had made her decision of joining Hunters or not. Bianca joins Hunters, Artemis decides that the only way to get the Hunters at camp fast was by asking her twin for a ride.)
Percy looks down when Artemis says that it was highly unlikely for her huntress to fall in battle, as two of her huntresses died on the quest and he blames himself for not saving them. Nico looks down embarrassed at the behavior of his younger self. Though he looks more sad that he did not believe Percy when he told Nico that Bianca had decided to visit from time to time.
Thalia looks down, sad that she blamed Percy for Annabeth being we even though all he did was try to protect the di Angelo's which was their mission. If Percy had not stalled they would have never reached the Di Angelo's in time to save them and she could not imagine what would happen if that had happened. Hades just smiled at young Nico's behavior which had not changed in the time they had been in the casino. The other gods waited for Aphrodite to start the next chapter who was busy fixing her makeup.
Ch-4 Thalia Torches New England
(Artemis waits for her brother as Percy tells Thalia and Grover about the discussion in the goddess's tent. Artemis tries to explain to Percy about how the sun chariot works but he does not understand. Apollo arrives in the sun chariot in the sports car form, Percy for a moment thinks that Apollo is Luke. Thalia thinks that Apollo is hot, Percy argues that Apollo is the sun god. Artemis askes Apollo to take the companions to camp, Apollo recites a Haiku. Apollo and Artemis argue about the Haiku, then Apollo converts the chariot from car mode to shuttle-bus mode and the Hunters climb in. Artemis tells Apollo to not to flirt with her hunters, Apollo askes where she is going she just tells him that she is going hunting. She leaves Zoe in-charge of the hunters, and goes hunting for the beast. Apollo asks who wants to drive, when Nico asks how sometimes it's Apollo and Artemis as the Sun and Moon gods and sometimes Helios and Selene, Apollo explains the downsizing, and how the sun chariot works but no one understands. Apollo askes Thalia to drive, she tries to refuse but Apollo won't take no for an answer. Thalia starts driving and she causes some extreme weather changes in New England. When they enter the border of the camp Thalia crashes the chariot in the canoe lake.)
Percy, Nico and Grover all look at Thalia sadly, they knew that Thalia was afraid of heights but didn't say anything. The hunters who were there during that time were laughing as they remembered how angry the naiads were.
Piper looked like she was trying to remember something, then suddenly a look of realization came on her face. When she saw the looks she was getting she explained "I was with my dad there for a winter break, he was shooting for a movie there. I still remember how funny it was watching the weather channel lady was trying to explain the sudden change." when everyone nodded in understanding Aphrodite continued reading.
Ch-5 I Place an Underwater Phone Call
(Percy is mesmerized by how beautiful the CHB looks during the winter. Percy explains Nico about the lava wall, then takes him to Chiron while the hunters go to cabin 8. On the way to the big house Percy spotted the year rounders but there weren't many of them. When they enter the big house they see Chiron and Mr. D playing a quiet game of cards. when Chiron acknowledges them, he notices Annabeth is not with them he asks about her, Mr. D says "not another lost one". Thalia asks who else is lost but before anyone could reply Grover comes in saying that the hunters were all moved in. Chiron askes Grover to take Nico to watch the Orientation film. Chiron askes Percy and Thalia to sit down and tell them the whole story in detail. When they are done Chiron suggests they immediately launch a search for Annabeth, Thalia and Percy both say that they will go but Mr. D refuses. Percy gets angry at Mr. D for not letting them go, Chiron says that Annabeth is smart and will find a way to stay alive for some time. but when Mr.D says that she will have to find her own way out Percy gets furious and says that Dionysus was glad to lose another camper and that he should help even if he was sent there for Punishment. That made him angry and he was about to say something but Nico came and called Mr. D the wine dude and said that he thought that Mr.D powers were awesome. Chiron says that Percy and Thalia should inform the camper of the next night's capture the flag game that they play every time the hunters visit. Thalia pulls Percy out of the big house and scolds him about taking that way to Mr. D, he just says that it's so unfair and then they decide that they will find a way to get Annabeth back. They decide that they will be co-captains for the game. When Percy apologizes about Westover, Thalia says that she understood why he did what he did and that she would have done the same. She tells him about her mother and he guesses that that's why she drove so badly. Thalia goes to break up the fight between the hunters and Ares campers. Percy goes around telling the campers about the game. He wakes a sleeping Ares camper and after telling him about the game he asks about Clarisse and finds out that she went on a secret mission for Chiron a month ago and is MIA. Percy went to his cabin, put Annabeth's cap on the nightstand, and hung his shield on the wall above. He noticed a fountain in his cabin. He I-mes Tyson in the Cyclops forges. They talk Tyson tells him about his job, Percy asks about his dad, he tells Percy about old ocean spirits protecting Luke's boat. Tyson asks about Annabeth, and asks Percy to say hello to her. Tyson says that the boat is going away to the Panama canal. The call ends as Tyson has to get back to work. He went to dinner but was not in the mood to eat. When he came back and fell asleep he saw Annabeth in his dream on a mountain with old Greek rubble. Luke is there, he looks in pain and asks Annabeth to help him. At first she doesn't believe him but when she does go and help him the weight of the sky falls on her and Luke leaves her there. Percy wakes up and realizes that Annabeth was in danger and Luke was responsible for it.)
The Future Athena and the Past Athena were glaring at Dionysus for not letting them launch a search for her daughter, but were later glaring at Hermes as his son trapped her daughter to hold the sky. The Half-Bloods who were a part of the second Titan war were angry at Luke as they never knew about this part. So were Thalia and Nico as Percy and Annabeth never told them about her holding the sky.
Percy just felt guilty about what he said to Mr. D as he knew that the god cared but just didn't show. He had had a chat about the matter with the god when he spent time with him and helped him manage the camp's paperwork. Aphrodite was busy thinking about how much Percy cared about Annabeth- no not cared he still cares judging by the side looks he has been giving her since the start of this book. As if he was making sure that she was still there. She was confused as to what happened to make her hate the boy. She will just have to wait till the end of the books to see and start to read.
Ch-6 An Old Dead Friend Comes to Visit
(The next morning Percy tells Grover about his dream. Grover tells him that Zoe had had a dream and she had demanded to talk to Chiron 3am in the morning, when Percy asks him how did he know all this Grover confesses that he had camped outside the Cabin 8 just to be near the hunters. Percy calls Grover "a stalker with Hooves''. (A.N.: Okay that was not completely necessary but I just find it funny so I had to put it in there.) Grover tells him that Zoe had fought with Argus and she had something about Artemis being in trouble and needing the hunters. When Chiron finally came out in pajamas and his tail in curlers, Zoe had asked permission to leave the camp immediately. But Chiron had refused saying that the hunters were to stay at camp until they received further orders from Artemis herself. Zoe had argued how Artemis could give them orders when she was kidnapped. When Percy asks how do you even kidnap a goddess, Grover says that it happened to Persephone. Percy argues that she is the goddess of springtime and Artemis is more powerful than her so could kidnap her. Grover guesses that it could be Kronos and Percy is worried that he could not be that powerful already. Grover says that if Kronos had reformed already then the gods would be more worried but he feels that Percy's and Zoe's dreams are connected. Percy decides that he should talk to Zoe. But Grover tells him something shocking. He says that the Hunters' arrival at Westover was not a coincidence, he says that they could be scouting. He gives Percy a hunters brochure he found in Annabeth's backpack. He says that Annabeth was considering joining the hunters and Percy is not happy. The rest of the day Percy tried to keep himself busy as he was worried sick about Annabeth. Percy sees as Chiron was busy teaching classes and Mr. D and Argus were busy feeding the baby dragon that guarded the Golden Fleece so the Big house would be empty. He sneaks' up to the Attic to talk to the oracle but the oracle does not give him a prophecy so he turns to leaves, but bumps into a table full of souvenirs and sees the scarf of Aphrodite that Annabeth had taken from him on their first quest. After the dinner everybody is getting ready for capture the flag. All the campers were ready to beat the hunters, even the Aphrodite cabin was taking part in this game. Even though they were Co-captains Thalia makes the plan and doesn't listen to Percy when he said that she should be on defense as she has Aegis. Nico is Little too excited about the game. Chiron tells them the rules, they all take positions and the game starts. When Percy sees the opportunity he runs into enemy territory to get the flag he had almost made it too but at the last moment Zoe reached her side with the flag of the campers. The hunters won the game and everybody blamed Percy. Percy and Thalia had a huge fight with powers and all. Just when Percy was about to attack Thalia the Oracle comes into the clearing and gives Zoe a prophecy. After giving the prophecy the Oracle sat on the rocks as if she had never moved.
The Prophecy:
Five shall go west to the goddess in chains,
One shall be lost in the land without rain,
The bane of Olympus shows the trail,
Campers and Hunters combined prevail,
The Titan's curse must one withstand,
And one shall perish by a parent's hand.)
When the part about Zoe's dream was read Artemis conjured a couch near her hunter and sat down on it, and when Grover said the Artemis could be kidnapped Apollo came and joined her and hugged her tight. Most of the gods were shocked at the display of affection between the twins as they had only seen them fight but Hestia and Aphrodite were smiling. they knew that the fighting was just an act they put up. Percy, Thalia, Nico, Grover and the hunters also knew about how the twins just acted to keep up a persona. The rest of the demigods were also shocked.
When the capture the flag game came up Thalia apologized to Percy as she knew that she was wrong. But Percy just waved her off as they were both just being brats. thought Thalia was soaking wet and Percy's clothes were smoking as if they were burned. But they both just hugged each other and started chatting. The Big three were surprised to see their kids so close.
Ch-7 Everybody Hates Me but the Horse
(Percy and Grover take the Oracle back up to the attic, a discussion is held about who is to go on the quest. It is decided that Zoe, Bianca and Phoebe would go from the hunters. Thalia and Grover volunteer to go from CHB, Percy protests that he also wants to go. When asked whether his determination was due to his desperation to rescue Annabeth, Percy hesitates. In the end, the decision is final and there is nothing he could do to change. Chiron tries to comfort Percy, tells him that he thinks that if he and Thalia were on the quest together they would start fighting like they did at the end of capture the flag. Their fighting could jeopardize the mission. He suggests that Percy talk to his mom and go home for the winter break. Percy then sends an Iris message to his mother and finds her chatting with Paul Blofis, her new boyfriend. Before the connection is cut, Sally encourages Percy to do what he thinks is right. Later, Percy has another dream, in which Artemis takes Annabeth's place holding the sky to save her from likely death. In the dream, the General tells Luke to kill Annabeth, but Luke convinces the General to let him keep her alive until the winter solstice, as further bait. Percy wakes up and his cabin's door is being banged, he pulls out his sword and goes to check who it is. He finds Blackjack, a pegasus, the one who was rescued from Luke's ship last summer, who has adopted Percy as his rider. Blackjack asks Percy to come and help him rescue another marine animal. While leaving he quickly takes Annabeth's invisibility cap from his nightstand, as he had a feeling that he won't be returning to his cabin for some time.)
Thalia apologizes to Percy for her behavior, he just waves her off. Though the campers and gods are equally shocked that Chiron would go on the quest to save Annabeth and Artemis. Nico, Thalia, Percy and Grover all smiled when Paul was mentioned. Though the other three are shocked that Sally told Percy to sneak out and go on the quest. When Percy's dream of Artemis taking the sky was read, Percy and Nico had to hold Thalia down so that she would not go and rip the book out in her anger, though they were both glaring at the book as well.
Apollo just held onto his tighter, though he looked like he wanted to go and teach Atlas a lesson. The gods were shocked to see Apollo so protective of his sister, cause last time they had seen him act like this was when Orion was traveling with the hunt. Artemis was happy to see her new lieutenant so protective of her, but was shocked to see the two boys so angry on her behalf.
Ch-8 I Make a Dangerous Promise
(Blackjack takes Percy to the ocean and tells that the animal was down in the water. Percy jumps into the ocean and heads towards the bottom of the ocean, he finds a marine cow-like creature trapped under the fisher's net and the Hippocampi were circling asking Percy to free the creature. When Percy pulls out his sword the creature is scared and starts panicking which only tangles it more in the net. Percy puts the sword away and starts untangling the net by hand. While doing so, he names the creature Bessie, not knowing what it is, thinking it is a girl. After freeing the creature he leaves, to return to camp scared to be found breaking curfew. When he was flying over the camp he sees Nico crouching behind a marble statue looking at the dining pavilion, and askes blackjack to leave him near the statue. Percy puts on the invisibility cap and goes behind Nico to find him listening to the hunter, Zoe and Bianca, talking. While eavesdropping on the hunters, Percy learns that Phoebe is bedridden due to a prank the Stoll brothers pulled, by giving her a T-shirt who's insides were sprayed with centaur's blood. When they leave to go to the van, to leave for their quest, Nico starts to follow them but Percy stops him. Nico asks Percy to go on the quest for him and look out for his sister. He asks Percy to promise that he will protect his sister. Percy promises to try his best and leaves following the van on Blackjack.)
Percy looks at Nico and says " I am sorry for not keeping my promise." Nico just looked at Percy sadly and answered "it was wrong of me to ask you to make such a promise. You promised to try your best and you did. You didn't break it, please stop apologizing for it every time it is mentioned." Percy stopped Apologizing but it didn't look like he forgave himself.
The gods were shocked that the Ophiotaurus was reborn, last time it was born it had caused a lot of problems. Hades was scared for his daughter's life after listening to his son's conversation with Poseidon's son. The other campers looked like they wanted to say something but before they could Hestia announced that it was time for lunch break.
~ After Lunch break ~
Aphrodite started reading the next chapter.
Ch-9 I Learn How to Grow Zombies
(Percy and Blackjack follow the van into the city. He finds out that the van is driven by Zoe and not Argus. They stop at a building so Blackjack can take a break, Mr. D arrives and tells them about the story of Theseus and Ariadne, and why he hates heroes. Mr. D lets them go, wishing that out of the two people who are supposed to die on the quest Percy would be one of them. After many hours following the van, they finally stop at a Museum. The people on the quest go to the NATIONAL AIR AND SPACE MUSEUM. The Smithsonian! From a distance, Percy sees Dr. Thorn and hears him confirming that Annabeth is alive and that his dream has been true. Dr. Thorn does not go into the museum with the rest of them and instead goes somewhere else. Percy follows, and soon he sees the General and Luke. Luke tells the General that to let him handle the questers, but the general refuses saying that he has sent a playmate to distract them. There the General creates skeletal warriors, which are almost impossible to destroy, by putting dinosaur teeth — dragon teeth, in actuality — into the soil and watering it with blood. Their original purpose was to kill Zoë and Bianca. The General is about to give them a cloth to get the Hunters' scent when Percy grabs it. However, the skeletons tear a chunk out of Percy's sleeve and inhale his scent, making him their target. Percy quickly escapes.)
Percy looks Mr. D straight in his eyes and prays in mind that he was sorry for his behavior. Mr. D was shocked that he told the boy his reason to hate the heroes, but was even more shocked when he heard Percy's prayer in his mind apologizing. He curtly nodded his head in the boy's direction, showing that he heard his prayer and accepted his apology. He thought that maybe, just maybe this hero was different from all the others. Maybe he was better from the group of Greek and Roman campers who were glaring at him.
Artemis was shocked that the boy put his life at risk to save her hunters, but seeing how her hunters were sitting with two boys and a satyr, maybe those two were different from all the other men after all. She smiled at the group who were chatting amongst themselves. When Percy felt eyes on him looked up and noticed that Artemis was looking at him and she smiled in gratitude for saving her hunters. Percy just returned her smile and turned back to the discussion. The Gods were shocked by this exchange, no one said anything.
Ch-10 I Break a Few Rocket Ships
(He goes to the Museum and tells the others what he found. Though the group (Zoë in particular) is rather surprised and angry as they realize he has followed them, they are about to leave, without Percy. But are interrupted when the Nemean Lion attacks. Nothing is able to pierce its hide, much to the displeasure of the group. However, Percy discovers a weakness and has an idea to expose it. He finds astronaut food in a gift shop and throws it into the Nemean Lion's mouth. The Nemean Lion is disgusted by the freeze-dried delectables and opens its mouth long enough for Zoë to shoot an arrow at it. Zoë then gives Percy the trophy of the Nemean Lion's Pelt, saying that he was the one who defeated the lion fair and square, even though she was the one who shot the killing arrow. The lion pelt turns into a jacket as soon as Percy puts it on. The Skeleton Warriors, disguised by the Mist as gray security men, are now following Percy, but Zoë refuses to leave him behind as she realizes that he is the fifth quest member.)
Athena is surprised that a son of Barnacle Bread was able to think of the solution to kill the Nemean Lion. Though she grudgingly agreed that that idea was a good idea. Artemis was shocked that the boy did not want the spoil of war and wanted Zoe to take it. Just when she thought that the boy was done with surprising her, he did something more surprising.
The gods were surprised that Zoe agreed to travel with a boy. But seeing as Percy was surprising them all after each chapter they thought that this should not be surprised anymore but they still were surprised. Aphrodite got out of her shock and started reading the next chapter.
Ch-11 Grover Gets a Lamborghini
(A Military helicopter is following them, so they head towards the subway. They soon reach an area called the Sun West line after taking many trains to lose their followers. There, they meet a homeless person and share his fire. They are oblivious to the fact that the homeless person is actually Apollo. They get inside an automobile-carrier train, with steel mesh curtains and a triple-deck of cars inside. The side of the freight train said SUN WEST LINE. They all get inside a car, Zoe and Bianca were crashed out in a Lexus on the top deck. Grover was playing race car driver behind the wheel of a Lamborghini, and Thalia had hot-wired the radio in a black Mercedes SLK so she could pick up the alt-rock stations from D.C. Percy asks to join Thalia, and they talk for a while. Percy figures out that the hunters had tried to recruit her but she would not leave Luke. Percy tries to tell that Luke has changed and is not the same person she knew. But Thalia believes that Luke is still the same man he was before she was turned into a tree. Thalia asks Percy to leave her car, but before he leaves she tells him that Annabeth wanted to join the hunters and he should think why. Percy soon encounters Apollo again when they get on another train headed west. Apollo advises him to seek out Nereus, the Old Man of the Sea. Percy soon has a dream, in which he is given the sword Anaklusmos by a girl. Unbeknownst to him, he is in fact seeing through the eyes of Hercules and the girl, he later realizes, is Zoë.)
Zeus looked angry that Apollo was openly interfering with the quest, but he understood his reason and he knew if he said anything to Apollo now, the anger that the sun god was feeling would be directed at him. Artemis smiled at her brother and thanked him for helping on the quest, Apollo just waved it off saying that it was so that they could rescue her faster.
When Percy's dream about Zoe and Hercules is read, Percy Thalia, Nico, Grover and all the hunters growled at the book and glared at it. Artemis smiled at all the support that her huntress was getting. Percy just wanted to find Hercules and kill him over and over, because of what he did poor Zoe got disowned by her family.
Ch-12 I Go Snowboarding with a Pig
(With help from Apollo, they reach a small town in New Mexico. There they try to take a break when Grover swoons as Pan's presence overcomes him. Following that, the skeleton warriors surround them, using handguns. Though Percy deflects a bullet and cuts down a skeleton warrior, it immediately forms back together, reassembling itself. Somehow, though, Bianca defeats a warrior, stabbing it right in the chest, with her knife blasting it to flames. This, however, does not stop another from shooting at Percy. Miraculously, Percy survives and realizes that the Nemean Lion pelt he wears is bulletproof. Grover then senses Pan's presence again along with a wild gift from him — the Erymanthian Boar. The giant boar temporarily defeats the skeletal warriors and then almost tries to kill them. They scatter in the woods, but the boar follows Thalia and Percy. They follow the train tracks and reach a bridge, Percy says that they need to go on the bridge but Thalia refuses. As a last moment decision Percy pushes Thalia and himself off the edge of the bridge and they snowboard down the hill on Thalia's shield. The boar follows them, but when they reach the end of the hill the boar gets stuck. Percy figures out that Thalia is afraid of heights. The others arrive as Percy promises to keep her fear a secret, Grover does his woodland magic and creates an automatic steering on the boar using an apple. When Zoe admits that she had thought she would never feel the presence again, Percy gets confused and she tells them that the presence they felt in the wind earlier was that of Pan, The Lord of the Wild.)
Percy looked sadly at Thalia and apologized that her fear was out because of him, but Thalia said that she was okay with people knowing as it didn't matter to her what other people thought. Though Broody took this opportunity and got up and said "What kind of Daughter of Zeus are you, afraid of heights. Hahahah, what a joke!" Though as soon as he finished this sentence he was blasted with a bolt of lightning, a few knives thrown near his face and a gold and a silver arrow just a millimeter away from his face. When everyone looked at Thalia for the lighting bolt, she just shook her head and looked at Zeus who looked just about ready to send another blast. Apollo and Artemis looked at him and said in unison "Next time you try to say something like this those arrows wont be near you face they will be through your face." Percy and the hunters went and took their knives back but before leaving Percy looked at Broody and said "Everyone is afraid of something, but that doesn't give you the right to make fun of them. And she is one heck of a daughter of Zeus who's one lightning bolt will send down on your butt, so don't try her."
Ch-13 We Visit the Junkyard of the Gods
(They all climb the boar and it carries them further on to San Francisco. It takes them to the Junkyard of the Gods, where Percy and Grover figure out that Bianca and Nico stay in Lotus Hotel and Casino. That is when a limousine arrives and Ares climbs out. He sends the group except Percy to the taco place. Percy gets inside the limousine and talks to Aphrodite, at which point it is hinted that Annabeth and Percy will most likely have a romantic future together. Aphrodite mentions that she likes Percy, and because of this, she would make his love life interesting. Before leaving, Aphrodite warns him about not taking anything from her husband's junkyard. Eventually, the group enters the junkyard (located near Gila Claw, Arizona), where Bianca tries to steal a Mythomagic action figure for her younger brother. Because of this, she awakens a defective Talos. The group battles the automaton when Bianca has a plan to defeat it. She enters via a maintenance hole in his left foot to destroy him. She succeeds in destroying the prototype Talos, but is electrocuted when Talos crashes into electric lines, causing him to short-circuit and crash to the ground. After failing to find her, Grover tearfully announces that the next stage in the prophecy has been fulfilled: Bianca di Angelo has died in the desert, the land without rain.)
Nico had his face hidden in Percy's shoulder as he cried for the loss of his sister as Percy hugged him and Thalia hugged him from behind, tears falling from all their eyes. Artemis closed her eyes at the loss of one of the hunters. Hades also had tears flowing down his face at the loss of his daughter. Poseidon and Zeus both looked at their brother sadly as they knew what it was like to lose a child.
Aphrodite was thinking as to what had happened to break such a bond that Percy and Annabeth had? she could feel that the bond was still there but it was fading by the amount of hate the girl was feeling towards the boy. But the boy was holding onto whatever was left with the last of his hope. She knew that she would have time to think about it later and started reading.
Ch-14 I Have a Dam Problem
(Finding a truck in the junkyard, Thalia drives until they reach a river. There, they find some canoes, and Thalia asks Percy to talk with Zoe as she is worried about her. Percy convinces a group of Naiads to steer them to the Hoover Dam. On the way Percy tells her that he knew about her history with the sword and Hercules. Percy, Thalia, and Grover begin spouting facts about the Dam, indicating just how close their relationship is to Annabeth, as the Hoover Dam was one of her personal favorites. After making some 'dam' jokes, Percy gets separated from the group when he hears and approaches the Ophiotaurus. The 11 remaining skeletal warriors attack him, and as he tries to escape, he ends up with a tour group inside an elevator. As the group leaves the elevator, Percy is alone with the tour guide, who turns out to be Athena. She is knowledgeable about his predicament and cryptically tells him that there is a way out for those who can find it. Athena leaves, and Percy dashes behind a wall to hide from the skeletons. He hears a noise behind him, and, thinking it is a skeleton, blindly slashes at a mortal girl who can see through the Mist, named Rachel Elizabeth Dare. Because she is mortal, the blade passes right through her, as if it is an illusion. She saves Percy by confusing the skeletons, allowing Percy to escape to his friends. The group gets trapped on the dam, Percy askes Thalia to pray to her father to help. But nothing happens. The soldiers start firing, but his group is saved when the giant metal angel statues given to Zeus by Athena carry them off.)
Artemis was shocked that Zoe was talking about the worst moment in her life with a boy. But she was happy that at least she talked to someone as it was eating her on the inside. All the gods are shocked that the Ophiotaurus keeps on appearing for Percy. Athena was happy that she at least hinted them and helped them on the quest for saving her daughter and her sister. Zeus was happy that he at least listened because if he didn't it would be very shameful and the other gods would be angry at him. The campers were busy with their own discussion.
They were all pulled out of their thoughts from a loud sound of laughter coming from the small group of hunters, two demigods and the Satyr. When the laughter ceased and they all noticed the looks they were getting they all smiled like innocents and turned away. The gods all turned to Aphrodite who started reading again to get everyone's attention back to the story.
Ch-15 I Wrestle Santa's Evil Twin
(Reaching San Francisco, Percy wrestles Nereus, the Old Man of the Sea, and learns that Bessie the Ophiotaurus is the monster Artemis is seeking, for burning its entrails will give a person the power to destroy Olympus. Dr. Thorn appears with a small force of mortals, and he tries to convince Thalia to wield the Ophiotaurus' power. Percy manages to shake her out of her stupor, and as they are cornered, they manage to get an Iris message to Camp Half-Blood and see Dionysus, the camp director. He saves them after Percy reluctantly asks for help. Zoe then realized that they had to go to Mt. Tamalpais, the garden of Hesperides.)
All the demigods looked horrified that people could kill something so innocent. Though they were scared of Mr. D's power who can make people go crazy. They decided that they never wanted to anger that god in particular, ever. Thalia looked at Percy, shocked that he would say please to Mr. D just for her and gave him a hug.
The gods looked at Dionysus for being so lazy and not helping them at once. Percy again prayed a thank you in his mind to the wine god, who just nodded not looking up from the wine magazine he had conjured to block out the looks from other gods. Aphrodite gave Dionysus one last glare and continued to read.
Ch-16 We Meet the Dragon of Eternal Bad Breath
(Grover then takes the Ophiotaurus back to Long Island with Poseidon's help after Percy sacrifices the lion's pelt to go to see Annabeth's father, Dr. Chase, to ask for help. Percy notes that the Chase home is one that 'looks like it had been lived in forever.' Dr. Chase lends them his car, and before they leave, Percy makes a promise to Mrs. Chase to tell Annabeth that she still has a home there. As they drive up the mountain, the car explodes due to a lightning bolt that Kronos threw to make Thalia angry at her father. They complete the rest of the climb on foot to the Garden of the Hesperides, where Zoë meets her sisters and is poisoned by the dragon, Ladon. They continue to the place where Atlas used to hold up the sky, and they see Artemis taking on his burden. Annabeth is bound and gagged by Luke and Atlas. When Atlas threatens to kill Zoe, Percy interferes and says that he won't let Atlas hurt her. That's when it is revealed that Atlas is Zoe's father.)
Zeus thanks Percy for trying to convince his daughter that it wasn't him who threw the lightning bolt. Percy just nodded and looked down, blaming himself for not noticing how bad Zoe's injury was. Athena was glaring at Hermes for his son's actions. Apollo was worried for his sister and asked Aphrodite to start reading again as he wanted to know what happened.
Ch-17 I Put on a Few Million Extra Pounds
(After learning that Atlas is Zoe's father Percy realizes that both of them do look alike. Then Percy sees that Annabeth has a streak of gray hair, Thalia tells him that it's from holding the sky. Percy tries to challenge Atlas into a fight but he deflects and steers the conversation towards Thalia. Like tries to convince Thalia to call the Ophiotaurus to her so she can sacrifice it and gain the power to destroy Olympus. Percy and Zoe are able to stop Thalia from going over to the Titans side. They all charge into battle, Thalia charges at Luke who lets Annabeth go and starts to fight. While Percy charges at the Titan General Atlas, Zoe helps him by shooting arrows at him. Percy could see the ruins of Mount Othrys, the rival capital of Mount Olympus, rebuilding itself. This could only mean that the Titans' chances of triumph are increasing. Ares's curse takes effect and Percy realizes that he will not be able to fight. Percy gets thrown near Artemis's feet, who tell him that he should run. But Percy refuses to run and goes and takes the sky from Artemis. Artemis goes and fights Atlas, when he was about to kill her Zoe interferes and Atlas throws her against the rocks injuring her severely. Artemis tricks Atlas into taking back the sky and Thalia pushes Luke off that cliff of the mountain as he tries to trick her. Kronos's monster army attacks, the others run to the goddess Artemis in whose arms Zoe is almost dead. They thought that they would be overrun by monsters soon when Mr. Chase came on his plane and started killing the monsters. Artemis summons her chariot and they all leave. Percy realizes that the story of Santa Claus's sleigh is based on the moon chariot. Sees them leaving safely Mr. Chase follows them.)
Everyone was shocked about what happened and it was getting late so Hestia announced Dinner time . Everyone quietly walked out of the throne room still in shock and headed to the dinning area to eat. They all ate in silence thinking something or the other.
~ After Dinner break ~
As everyone was waking back in the throne room, Ares pulled Percy aside for a second saying that he wanted to talk. When everyone was inside Ares asked Percy "How many times did the curse act up, after this incident?" Percy looked at Ares and said "Once.", the god nodded and said "Would you allow me to remove the curse?" Percy just smiled and said "Your future self did it after we started hanging out as it would hold me back during our weekly spare session." the god nodded and they went inside the room. Once they were both seated Aphrodite resumed reading.
Ch-18 A Friend Says Good-bye
(Mr. Chase explains how melted some of Annabeth's old weapons to create Celestial Bronze bullets. Zoe dies in Artemis's arms, who takes her soul and puts it in the stars making a new constellation- The Huntress. Before she does, Zoe admits that she was mortified that Percy carried her sword. Artemis leaves to go to Olympus, but before leaving she praises Annabeth, Thalia and Percy. Blackjack, Porkpie and Guido the Pegasi appear and take the heroes to Olympus. Thalia falls asleep on her pegasus, Percy and Annabeth chat for sometime, during which Annabeth says that she believes Luke is still alive. Percy is not convinced. They reach Mt. Olympus where the Council of the gods had begun.)
Apollo was relieved that they all made it of that mountain. Artemis was sad that she lost no one but two huntress in this quest, one of which was her oldest friend. The huntress who were there at the time Zoe was alive looked down sad that she was dead. Percy, Thalia, Nico and Grover also looked sad. Aphrodite knew that the sooner they completed the reading the more time they will all get to think, grieve, etc. so she began reading.
Ch-19 The Gods Vote How to Kill Us
(They reach Olympus, where all of the council is existing. The Ophiotaurus- Bessie and Grover are also there. Bessie was inside a sphere of water in the center of the room. Thalia chooses to take Zoë's place as the Hunters' lieutenant for her to never turn 16 and not be the child of the prophecy. Percy experiences discomfort before she makes her decision, as he assumed that it would be Annabeth joining the Hunters. Ares and Athena suggest that the gods kill Percy because he will be the next child of the prophecy after two years. Fortunately, many of the gods vote to let the heroes live after Artemis declares that if the heroes are punished, then the gods are no better than the Titans. Poseidon also vouches to let the Ophiotaurus live. He states that it would be kept in Mount Olympus. Later, the gods host a party in celebration of the hero's completing the quest. During the party many gods go and congratulate Percy, Poseidon comes and talks to him and confirms that Luke is still alive and is back on the cruise ship along with Kronos's golden coffin. After Poseidon leaves, Athena approaches Percy and tells him that she does not approve of his friendship with Annabeth. She also tells him his Fatal flaw- Personal Loyalty. Annabeth comes and finds Percy talking to Athena, who leaves and Annabeth asks Percy what the two were talking about. When Percy says that It's nothing, Annabeth asks what he wanted to say when Artemis was choosing her new lieutenant. Percy says that he owes her a dance.)
The gods looked sad that their future self were trying to kill the only person possibly save them. Though they were relieved that they didn't. Athena was thinking that what she said to the boy was wrong, as she could see that the boy still cared about her daughter, seeing as he was constantly checking on her. Though her daughter didn't seem to notice. She was curious as to why her daughter hated the boy.
Thalia, Nico and Grover were busy teasing Percy because they knew Percy still loved Annabeth. Percy was just tuning them all out and remembering all the fun times he and Annabeth had before they broke up. He was brought out of his thoughts, when Aphrodite resumed reading.
Ch-20 I Get a New Enemy for Christmas
(After partying with the gods, the group returns to camp. Percy Iris Messages Tyson and tells him about the quest and the Shield. Tyson reveals that he will come to camp next summer and will fix the shield. Percy is excited to meet Tyson again. Tyson ends the call as his boss calls him back to work. Percy then Iris Messages his mom, who was chatting with Mr. Blofis. Percy tells her about the quest as fast as he could. He approves of his mom's relationship with Paul. Percy also agrees to return home for Christmas. Percy tells Nico about Bianca's death and gives him the figurine of Hades, that Bianca meant to give to Nico. Nico throws the statuette away and tells Percy that he hates him for not saving his sister. Suddenly, four of the skeletal warriors appear and Nico thinks that Percy is trying to kill him. Nico unintentionally splits the earth to swallow them up and runs away in the woods. Percy figures out that Nico's father is Hades after this incident. After searching the woods for a few hours, Annabeth suggests that they should tell Chiron, but Percy refuses. He says that Hades didn't break the oath, the Di Angelo's were born before the oath was made and were kept in the Lotus Hotel and Casino. When Annabeth protests that they can't hide Nico's parentage from gods forever, Percy says that they just need to hide it for two years, so Percy can be the child of Prophecy. When Annabeth asks Percy that he wants to be responsible for saving the world, Percy says that he claims the Prophecy and that he has already let Bianca and Nico down once, this is the least he can do for both of them. Percy and Annabeth lie to Chiron about Nico's disappearance, they were both going home till next summer. while both of them were telling each other to take care, Grover arrives, claiming that, while drinking coffee, he had heard Pan's voice speak three words in his head, "I await you.")
Nico put his hand in his Aviator jacket's pocket and pulled out the small figurine and looked at it sadly. Percy had given it to him after the second Giant war when they had sat and talked in his cabin, Percy had told him how Bianca had died. Nico looked at Percy. Thanked him for looking for him and not telling Chiron about him. Hades looked at Percy shocked that he protected his son, but looking at his son hugging both his younger Brother's children he smiled. At least his son had someone to look out for him, care for him and love him for who he is.
The twins took the kids back to their rooms and the gods went to their palaces to think about what they were finding out in these books.
