Friends and family of Sam Winchester attended the funeral. His son Dean stood with his wife and daughter and they all watched as the coffin was lowered into the hole. Words were said around the group and flowers were laid by the grave. Dean's eyes filled with tears as he looks at his Dad's grave. He takes a shaky breath and puts on a smile.

"At least you're with mom now."

His wife squeezed his hand. She gives her husband a reassuring smile.

"Daddy." Their daughter looks up with curiosity. "Is granddad with the angels now?"

Her dad smiles and gives a small nod.

"Yes sweetie. Granddad is in a better place now just like grandma."

His daughter nods and returns her attention back to the grave. His wife again gives her husband another squeeze. Dean holds back a sob. He couldn't break down in front of his daughter. He quickly wipes his tears and takes another deep breath.

"Goodbye Dad."

He runs his hand along the headstone then follows the others back into church. Later on in the day when everyone was gone the Chevy 67 Impala pulls up outside the church. The car door opens and Dean steps out. He walks into the graveyard and searches for his brother's grave. He stops and when he finds the grave. He reads the writing on the tombstone. A sob forms in his throat when he read the word brother on the grave. The hunter then returns back to his full height and clears his throat.

"Hey Sammy." He smiled. He shifts from foot to foot and nervously plays with his hands. "So... You did it you managed to hit retirement age." He laughs. "I'm just imagining your hair all long and grey argh..." He again laughs. "I bet you were still damm stubborn about it." He shakes his head. "I hope you are not giving Cas a hard time up there."

He again laughs but this time his voice started to crack. He sits down and wipes his eyes. He then bites his lip.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry...for leaving you but...I...I had no choice I wanted to protect you I wanted you to live your life I..." He lowers his head with guilt and shame. "I guess I was protecting myself as well I couldn't watch you get older I couldn't stand there and watch you die I...didn't want to be the one who had to bury you I know it sounds selfish but... I just couldn't do it I wanted to remember you how you were then when it was just me and you I didn't want to face reality and see you growing up. So I thought if I left it would be easier for the both of us. I have to say..." He smiles. "You did the one thing I thought we would never have. You made your own family you became a husband, a dad Hell you even became a granddad. You created a wonderful family and I'm so happy you got to live your life I'm so glad you found that perfect someone and your son...my nephew...You raised him well. I'm proud of you Sammy and I hope you forgive me...I hope you understand now why I did what I had to do."

Dean gets out a bottle of beer. He raises the bottle in the air.

"This is for you Sam."

He does a salute then he opens the beer and takes a swig from it. The hunter then leans back on his elbows and watches the sun set over the horizon.

"You are going back already?"

Patrick watched as Dean started packing his bag.

"People need saving remember?" Dean replied as he zips his bag and slings it over his shoulder.

"You can call someone else?" Patrick suggests. "There are other hunters you know?"

"No it's okay I can do it."

"Dean you just lost your brother I don't think it's a good idea to throw yourself into a hunt. You could get yourself hurt? What about the Mark?"

"Patrick stop!" Dean cuts him off. "I been cooped up in here for days I need to go out I need to do something anything. I need to clear my head okay?" The hunter raises his eyebrow. "Okay?"

Patrick sighs.

"I can't stop you."

The witch raises his hand. The door swings open. Dean steps out and lets the cold air blow on his face. He closes his eyes and relishes the cold air on his skin.

"Dean?"

Dean turns round.

"Yeah?"

"Be careful okay?"

Dean smiles.

"I'll be fine." He assured the witch.

Patrick watched as the hunter got in his car and drove off. The witch shakes his head and closes the door.

"Rowena, you're cheating."

Rowena raises her head and puts on a innocent expression.

"Cheating? I would never do such a thing."

Patrick puts his cards face down on the table. He raises his eyebrow at her.

"I can smell the magic from here."

"Darling we are witches magic will be everywhere. Now." She pushes the chips forward. "All in."

"Someone is confident." Patrick bites his toothpick and gives the other witch a smirk. "Well." He pushes his chips forward. "All in." He grinned.

Patrick turns his cards over first. Rowena nods.

"Not bad but..." She turns her cards over. "Not as good as mine..." Her voice trails as she looks at the cards. "What?" She picks her card up and examines it. She then glares at the Irish witch. "You bloody changed my cards."

"Oh no. I just put the cards back to its original pack. Had to remove that wee bit of magic from the room." His toothpick slides to the other side of his mouth. The witch shakes his head. "Nice try Ro."

Rowena scowls and folds her arms. Patrick takes her chips and clears his throat.

"My money please."

Patrick sticks out his hand and waits patiently.

"I can offer something much better." Rowena grinned.

Rowena places her hand on his thigh and gives him a devilish smirk. Patrick responds with a eye roll.

"I already told you that's off the table." He leans on the table and gestures to her face. "Come on. Time to pay up."

Rowena does a dramatic eye roll. She lets out a pout as she gets some cash out. She drops some notes into Patrick's hands.

"Happy?" She said.

Patrick tucks the notes into his pocket and grins.

"Very."

Seconds later the King of Hell appears. He sits on the couch and sips his drink.

"Mother driving you crazy again?"

"No." Patrick laughs. "She's harmless."

"Harmless?" Rowena looked offended by that. Crowley scoffs.

"Wouldn't describe her as harmless."

"What do you want Fergus?" Rowena asked.

Crowley shrugs.

"Dean is coming."

"What?" Patrick gave the demon a surprised look. "When did he say that?"

Crowley raises his finger. Suddenly the door opens and Dean rushes in.

"Guys! I found God!"

"Oh." Patrick looked shocked. "Never pictured you as a church goer type."

"No no." Dean shakes his head. "Guys you gotta see this."

Before anyone could respond a man walks in. He is much shorter than the older Winchester. He raises his hand and smiles.

"Hello everyone."

Then Castiel walks in. He stood next to the new arrival. Patrick looks at the new arrivals with confusion.

"Dean? what is going on?"

"Its a long story." The man chuckled softly. He then looks round. "Do we have any bacon? I wouldn't mind a bacon sandwich."

The man starts to look in the cupboards. Patrick stands up and folds his arms.

"Excuse me? What do you think you are doing?"

The man turns and raises his eyebrow.

"Huh? "

"You have no right to come in here and raid my stuff. I don't even know who you are?"

"Oh." The man chuckled. "How rude of me. I'm sorry let me introduce myself. I'm God but you can call me Chuck. Now where was I..."

He continued looking through the cupboards. Patrick stood with his mouth hung open. His wide eyes turn towards the older Winchester. Dean shrugs.

"I told you."

"God." Rowena stands up. "You are THE God?"

"Ahh there it is." Chuck gets out the bacon and bread. He then nods to the Scottish witch. "That's right the one and only." He smiles. "I have to say you were always a guilty pleasure of mine Rowena. You and your son."

He gives her a wink. Rowena blushes pink. She tosses her hair over her shoulder and gives him a smile.

"I'm flattered. "

She joins Chuck at the table and helps him make the food. Crowley runs a hand down his face.

"Great just great!"

"Dean!" Patrick snaps out of his shock and glares at the hunter. "A word." The witch pulls the hunter to the side. "How?" He then asked.

Dean frowns.

"How what?"

"This..." He gestures with his hands. "How is this happening? I mean...God, Big Man, Creator of the world is here in my apartment making a bacon bloody sandwich."

"I'm surprised I never thought God would eat his creations." Patrick grimaced at that. "Hey um..Chuck said he is here to help us."

"Help us?"

"Yeah he knows how we can safely remove the Mark."

"The Mark?"

Patrick's face twitched. Doubt showed in his eyes.

"You have questions." Chuck walks up to them with the sandwich in his hand. "I am happy to answer them. If you take a seat with the others I can tell you how we can sort this little problem out. Oh..." He waves his sandwich. "This is good by the way."

Patrick watched as everyone sat around the table. Rowena sits next to Chuck. She runs her fingers through his hair and batters her eyelashes at him. Chuck leans back in his seat and happily eats his sandwich.

"Patrick?" Dean sits down and frowns at him. "You coming or not?"

The He-witch slides into the chair next to the hunter. He folds his arms and waits for the Big Man to share his story. Chuck finished his sandwich. He wipes his mouth and burps.

"Excuse me." Chuck chuckled. He rubs his hands and places them flat down on the table. "So first of all I want to say thank you for everything you done. Thank you for keeping HER locked up. She's a nasty piece of work. I understand this came with a price you Dean you had to give up everything your family, friends everyone to ensure she doesn't get out. I admire you for that. Sam's death it has affected you I can see you are broken your soul has dimmed since his death and I am sorry I know you boys shared a special bond. "

"Well you would know that." Dean scoffed. "After all the books you have wrote about us."

"Books?" Patrick frowned. "What books?"

"Story for another time. Anyway as I was saying it hurt me to see that special bond is gone. No more Sam and Dean Winchester." He sighs. "Quite depressing actually so that's why I am here I want to fix this I don't want to see you suffer anymore Dean. To do that I have a solution. I can remove the Mark but to do that someone else has to be willing to take the Mark."

"Wait what?" Dean shakes his head. "You didn't mention this before."

"That's because I didn't want to repeat myself."

"I...I can't let someone else take it I can't let them go through this I..."

"Let me finish telling you my plan before you make your mind up Dean." Chuck cut him off. "Before I can remove it Patrick would need to put you back to your original age. Then I can transfer the Mark on to someone else. Once that is done Dean Winchester would be a free man. "

"I have a question." Patrick says.

"Ask away I did say I am happy to answer any questions."

"God is all knowing right?"

"Correct."

"So you knew what Dean was going through. All this time you had a solution but you did nothing?"

"What does it look like I am doing now."

"I seen a lot of change in this world. I seen death, war, disease, suffering but you did nothing."

"That's not true."

"Not true?" Patrick laughs. "People pray to you. People build churches for you. They fight wars in your name, and you did nothing. You let everyone suffer? I thought God loved and cared for his creations. "

"He has a point." Dean agreed.

"You're frustrated. I get it. Believe me, I was hands-on...real hands-on for, wow, ages. I was so sure if I kept stepping in, teaching, punishing, that these beautiful creatures that I created... would grow up. But it only stayed the same. And I saw that I needed to step away and let my baby find its way. Being over involved is no longer parenting...It's enabling.

"But it didn't get better." Dean frowned.

"Well, I've been mulling it over. And from where I sit, I think it has."

"No disrespect uh Chuck but...well, from where I sit, it feels like you left us and you're trying to justify it."

Chuck frowns at the hunter.

"I know you had a complicated upbringing, Dean, but don't confuse me with your dad. Okay? You have to understand this about the Darkness...she's relentless, a force beyond human comprehension. It's the only reason I came off the side lines. I don't think I can trust you to hold on anymore Dean as I said you are broken without your brother and I fear...She will be released I have to put a stop to that."

"So much for the whole special bond talk."

"I meant that." Chuck touches his chest. "I have to be straight with you here that you need to let go let someone else has to take the Mark. I would have transferred the Mark back to Cain but he is gone now. Someone else needs to take it someone who can handle it. If you do this Dean I can give you back the life you always wanted I can bring your brother back. "

Dean's eyes widen.

"What?"

"I know shock right? I'm God I can do anything I can bring back your brother to the age he was when you first had the Mark and you boys can live your life together. The Winchesters back together again. Sounds great huh?"

Dean goes quiet. He ponders over what Chuck has told him. Meanwhile Patrick still looked doubtful.

"This doesn't answer my question." Patrick glares at Chuck. "If you cared about the Winchesters you would have stepped in ages ago but you didn't. How do you expect us to trust you now? Huh?"

"Questioning the Lord." Chuck smiled. "Wow. I understand you're scepticism I can see you are very protective of your client."

Dean glances at the He-witch. Patrick kept a straight face.

"Think about it." Chuck continued. "This journey has been an experience for all of you. There has been some serious character development here. This has made you a better person Patrick. I think part of you doesn't want this to end. When it does... " He tilts his head. "You won't be needed anymore. You will be all alone again. "

Everyone looks at the He-witch. Patrick forced a smile.

"I don't care."

Chuck smirks.

"Sure." He then clears his throat. "You don't need to give me an answer now Dean I understand this is a big decision. You know how to contact me. Just a little prayer and I'll be right down. Patrick thank you for the sandwich it was delicious. Rowena pleasure. " He rubs her arm and grins. "Crowley, Castiel." He nods to them. "I will see you all very soon. Goodbye."

Seconds later Chuck vanishes.

The room then fell silent.
