Keo namikaze: Thank you. I don't know much about Ayanokouji and Himeno's friendship but I'll definitely have them interact with each other. For Chie-sensei, I prefer her to be the drunken but responsible teacher. The 5 characters are not OC. They're from the anime mentioned above this feedback
Fortitude501: Yes Horikita will slowly humble herself and work to overcome her defeat though there are still obstacles in her path. Now about the meet-up, just a reminder that this story is more based on the anime than the LN but they'll definitely have some content from it. That involves characters that appeared in the anime only. And I did read that Wattpad story. Pretty decent.
The midterm exam results are out and guess what?
"We did it!"
"Yeah! Everyone in Class A passed!"
"A flawless achievement!"
Cheering took place within the class as, "Our scores have improved!" Chihiro exclaimed.
"Yeah! Those study sessions are worth it!" said Yume.
"Especially when our best friend led and guided us!" said Mako as they set their sight on Honami. "W-Well...it's not just my guidance during the study session, your own efforts also-"
"You're the best Honami-chan!"
"Group hug!"
And in an instant, Honami found herself being squeezed in a group hug by Mako, Chihiro, Yume, Andou, Kozue, Mahiru and Chitose. From a distance, Ayanokouji watched with a smile when he received a text message from Horikita.
What did you do?
Do what? (He replied back to her)
How did my entire class passed the midterms? Even Sudou, Ike and Yamauchi were able to survive. Surely you have played a part into it, is it?
This messaging made him recall it.
(Flashback)
3 days before the midterms...
Ayanokouji and Honami are passing by the tennis courts. "During the club fair last month, Mahiru-chan signed up for the cuisine club while Chitose-chan and Kozue-chan signed up for the track and field." Honami told him.
"Omoshiroi." He replied.
"Come to think of it, I heard from someone that Mahiru-chan has a sister studying here as well and she's assigned to Class C." Honami added when they heard a loud voice. "Bring it on you ungrateful Class C punks!"
It then cuts to the back of some school building as Sudou found himself surrounded by a gang of 4 boys. They consist of the Class C leader, Ryuuen and his underlings which are Ishizaki, Komiya and Reo.
"That is some outdated thug act." Ishizaki exclaimed. "So lame if you ask me." Reo exclaimed. "Ha! You are a pathetic ugly creature." Ryuuen mocked. Insulted by his words, Sudou went to make the first move only to. "Komiya, Kondou!"
The 2 students grabbed his arms locking them and forcing him on his knees in response from the orders of the magenta hair student as from a distance, "Kushida asked us to invite him to her study group but..." Ayanokouji just continued observing as Ryuuen walked to Sudou with Ishizaki standing by his side. "I can't wait to see how many of you will be expelled after the upcoming test." Already Sudou is too scared to look at his menacing eyes as, "You will be the first..." He then got his finger ready as Sudou expected him to attack him on the eye...

...
Only to tap his forehead. As a result, Sudou broke free from Komiya and Kondou surprising them as he lunged for an attack with Ishizaki throwing his fist to stop him when, "All of you, stop this at once!"
"!?"
Ayanokouji then realized that Honami took the initiative to intervene. "What do you want?! Stay out of this!" Sudou shouted as the boys stopped and stared at her. "As a student of this school, I cannot allow violence and disorder to slip away. If you guys still insist on brawling and throwing punches, I'm going to call security. You don't want that do you?"
"Ichinose. This isn't a fight. We're the victims here."
"Oh are you sure? It looked to me like you and your lackeys provoked him into it Ryuuen-kun." Honami replied. "If you still keep this up including that charade you just spoke up, I'll report this to the school."
Silence for a brief moment. "Hmph. Hey monkey, I think you'll make a nice toy. One day." Ryuuen then took his leave with his lackeys as Sudou still furious at being victimized by them wanted to fight them but, "Sudou, that's enough." Ayanokouji finally stepped in to prevent further escalations as already, other students passing by have witnessed the scene. As for Honami, she talked to Sudou. "Listen to me, don't let him provoke you okay?"
"Shut up..." Sudou gritted his teeth and then, "Please refrain from causing trouble to the others okay? See ya!" Honami took her leave rejoining Ayanokouji as he made his move. ""Sudou, you free now? Kushida's in the middle of studying with-"
"Sorry man. I've got a club to attend." He replied as he began walking away. "Ike and Yamauchi have shown their willingness to improve on their studies now." Ayanokouji called out to him. "I'm not going anywhere if I started studying from now." He called out back as he left. "Will he be okay on his own?" Honami asked him. "That depends. Maybe we can't convince him at all. Perhaps someone else could." He replied and looked at the time. "You wanna grab a milkshake?"
"Oh yes! I love that stuff." She replied in excitmeent and they left for some cold treats.
Meanwhile at the basketball court, the basketball club is in the midst of their practice and they appeared to have both male and female members in it. Sudou on the other hand was doing well but was slightly distracted at one session due to Horikita's presence which he took notice of.
After practice, he can be seen leaving when, "Sudou-kun. Can I talk to you for a bit?" Horikita was waiting for him as, "Are you planning to leave school for good?"
"Tch. You're so persistent." Sudou replied with annoyance as he wanted to leave no but, "You don't mind not playing basketball anymore?" She asked another question stopping him on the tracks as she approached him and handed him a notebook. "I've summarized the main topics from class in this notebook." He could not believe his eyes as, "I'm teaching you for my sake." She spoke on. "You should study for yours. That way, you can continue playing basketball at this school." She then took her leave leaving Sudou who's still speechless at her care and concern to him.
2 days before the midterms...
"Wow! I believe this might be the first time you and I get to have lunch together!" Kikyou cheered excitedly.
"One, I had my lunch already. Two, I'm gonna test out something and I need you to back me up just in case." Ayanokouji told her as he took a peek. There are students queuing for their lunch orders and soon enough, "Ikuzo." Target acquired.
On a table, an unhappy student sat down to eat his poor vegetable lunch set when, "Excuse me senpai, can we talk?" He looked up to see Ayanokouji and Kikyou sit across him. "We're from Class D and I would like to inquire from you something. Do you still have last year's midterm exam sheets?"
"Uh...yeah. But why did you come to me?" The senior asked.
"It's simple. Those low in points will have more chance to secure a deal with. Not mention the disgusting lunch you have which is easy enough for me to identify the ones to do the deal." The senpai was surprised by this so, "How much will you pay?"
"10,000 points. That's my limit."
"No way! There's risks in my school life! I'd need 30,000 points at the very least to survive for this month."
"Hmmm...let me think for a second." Ayankouji closed his eyes and went into deep thought and soon enough. "Alright. I'll pay you the requested amount."
"Wh-What the...you mean it?!"
"Of course. On one condition, include your quizzes from the first term."
"Uh...sure! Yeah sure! I'll send you the goods after school."
"Wakata. I'll pay you now so don't forget."
"Mou...and I thought I'm suppose to have a part to play!" Kikyou thought.
After school
Somewhere in the park, Ayanokouji and Kikyo are waiting on the bench. "Don't you think it's gonna be okay?" Kikyo asked. "Don't worry, it's within the school rules." Ayanokouji replied. They chatted some more about the old test questions and in less than a minute, Ayanokouji's phone beeped. He fished it out and checked his messages. "Perfect." He took out a piece of paper containing answers from their quiz and made a comparison. Soon enough, "It's the same. Exactly as ours."
"Sugoi! What about the midterms?"
"It's most likely to have the same questions."
"This is going to be helpful for my class!" Kikyou cheered.
"Indeed. Now, I'd like you to do me a favour. Tomorrow, could you tell the class that you're the one who got them the questions?"
"Sure, but are you okay with that?"
"Of course. I think your classmates trust you more." Ayanokouji replied.
"Alright then Ayanokouji-kun. Hey, are you sharper than you look?"
"I'm just cunning. That's all." He replied and, "Could this be the reason Class B ranked up to Class A?" Kikyou asked.
"That's up to you to assume." He replied and they went their way.
One day before the midterms...
As planned, Kikyou handed out the midterm answers to the class. When Karuizawa asked about them, she explained the details without revealing Ayanokouji's part. This made many boys cheer over it. Even the 3 idiots were impressed enough to take their studies with serious determination. Kouenji however refused for he's intelligent enough to do the exams and he has a date night to prepare.
For Horikita, she looked at Kikyou for a moment and then, "Masaka...are you working in the shadows to help my class Ayanokouji-kun? Better ask him after the exams." She thought.
(End Flashback)
By now, Ayanokouji finished texting Horikita everything that transpired in her class and he resumed his usual activity by looking out at the window. "You never cease to surprise me." Kanzaki spoke and approached him at the same time. "In all the subjects, you're on the top."
"Surprisingly unexpected." Ayanokouji replied.
"Anyway...can we talk after school? I wanna inquire something from you." Kanzaki asked.
"Eh sure." He replied and at the front, Chie-sensei who's lying on her front table got up. "I must admit. You students have exceeded my expectations. A lot of high scores I have noticed. Well done!"
"Ugh! Chie-sensei! You reek of alcohol! I can even smell it from my desk!" Chihiro brought and now, half the class can smell the alcohol.
"Oh sorry...I drank too much last night...and..." She nearly wanted to puke but still, "These are current class points for all 4 classes!" She announced with an unexpected burst of energy.

"Okay...that's all for homeroom...any questions?" Chie-sensei asked while still feeling the hangover.
"I do." Ayanokouji stood up and began. "You said before that anyone who fails the midterms will get expelled. So tell me, if a student fails a subject by a single point, how much to pay to add the one point into his or her test score?"
"Ah...very good question. I think it's around 100,000 private points to add a point into one's test score." Chie-sensei answered as she slumped onto her table feeling the complete hangover.
"Understood. Like what you said on the first day, you can buy anything with the points and therefore, rules must be applied equally. Even on exams like this midterm." Ayanokouji stated leaving the class in awe.
"Useful information we've learnt today..." Himeno thought and the teacher began dozing off as Yume, Kadowaki and Beppu went to check on her. And then, Honami went to check her phone and to her amazement, "The interview is at 5pm today!" She thought excitedly as, "Whoa Honami-chan! Did you just get an invite to the student council for an interview?" Mako asked and she's beside her reading her message. "Hey! How did you-" Honami was interrupted by loud cheering as Ayanokouji continued looking out at the window.
Meanwhile in the hallway...
2 students are standing by looking at the class records on the wall. They contain the current amount of class points held by each class.
"Class C is gaining. Must be Ryuuen's work." The first one known as Katsuragi who's bald and buff stated. "He's a dangerous student leading his class through fear and tyranny. Class D is catching up but also...Class A that was once Class B is taking the initiative to stay on the top."
If nothing else, Sakayanagi decided to leave as she used her walking cane to support herself. "Isn't this boring?" She asked as she walked away with Katsuragi watching her. He then looked at the time on his handphone. "I better be ready for the interview if I am to secure a spot in the student council." He thought and left also.
At the same time, Ayanokouji and Kanzaki are hanging out at the park having a snack. "Mmmm...nothing like a hotdog on a bun to snack on." said Ayanokouji.
"Especially when it's loaded with ketchup and shredded cheese." said Kanzaki as they continued eating their snack.
"Oh right. Kanzaki, what is it that you want to inquire from me?" Ayanokouji asked as he finished his snack first.
"Okay this might be a bit awkward but you might know of it to..." Kanzaki began as he took a deep breath.

...
"I've heard of what happened to the White Room."
Ayanokouji was silent. "How did you hear of this?"
"It was years ago. I was still a small boy and one night, my father took me to some dinner party event and there, we met your father and after that, I met him more in other events." Kanzaki began. "I didn't hear much but I did hear about the existence of the White Room but I shudder to think that such secret facility would exist and it's purpose."
"And you know what happened right?"
"Yes. Someone leaked it's existence and it was shut down for good. Your father and all those working in the facility are sentenced for life. But one thing I never knew until this semester is that he has a son who's sitting right beside me enjoying his freedom."
"Very observant Kanzaki." Ayanokouji replied. "Yes. It was discovered and shut down. For my case, I was taken in by my father's butler who raised me. It was at the same time ANHS was recommended to me so yes, he took care of my application so that I can enjoy and experience the freedom and the outside."
"Souka..." Kanzaki went silent a bit. "I don't know what you went through in the White Room but...if there's anything I can do to help you with that, you can seek me."
"It's alright. I can manage. After all, being put in this class is the first step to experience my freedom and it's full of students with carefree attitudes and potential to play their parts for our class."
Kanzaki smiled in agreement and then, "I wonder how's Ichinose doing? She has an interview with the student council right?"
"Yes and by now, she should be done. I also asked her to meet us." Ayanokouji replied when, "Did somebody mention my name?" They looked up to see her standing before them. "Good timing. How did it go?" Kanzaki asked.
She however said nothing as, "It's alright to tell us. We trust you." Ayanokouji assured to her.
"Well...I was...rejected to join the Student Council." She answered sadly. "Any reason?" Kanzaki asked. "I was...told that...I was not good enough..." She replied as she sat with them. Ayanokouji then placed his hand on her shoulder. "Don't take this rejection to heart Ichinose. There might be a reason for this. But I know for sure that one day, you'll get that chance."
She felt much better from this as she beamed in happiness. "Arigato Ayanokouji-kun!" She thanked him and hugged him on the side resting her head on his shoulder. "Warmth..." He can feel it when she realized. "Oh sorry! I...I don't know what got over me..."
"No problem." He replied as, "So anything else to talk about?" Kanzaki asked. "Ah yes! I've organized a karaoke night at the karaoke area for the whole class! You guys free for the night?"
"Sure. I have nothing else in mind." Kanzaki replied.
"Same thing." said Ayanokouji and it's all settled.
So that night...
All of Class A gathered for karaoke as in the room they rented, everyone partied. "Kampai!" Shibata shouted as he drank his soda. On stage, Itsuki and Chitose sang a duet with many cheering. Hamaguchi and Beppu are snacking on some french fries and around a table, Ayanokouji, Honami, Mako, Norihito and Amane hang around. "Cheers!"
"Cheers!" The 5 students had a toast as they drank their soda. "We should do this more often occasionally." said Norihito. "That could work. Once a month should be okay." Honami agreed to that as she drank her glass of soda. Apparently, "Uh I hate to break it to you but that's Ayanokouji's drink." Amane brought up.
Mako gasped and started laughing under her breath while Honami blushed in embarrassment. "I...uh...I'm sorry Ayanokouji-kun!"
"It's okay. It's just an accident." Ayanokouji assured to her as he went to get a new cup. "Honami-chan, I wonder what you were thinking in your mind? Becuase whatever you're thinking, you're distracting yourself to the point you drank someone else's drink." Mako implied well as Norihito and Amane can agree with her but this also caused her to run out of the room completely flustered on the face. Ayanokouji noticed that and he got a new cup.
After the fun...
"You had fun tonight Ayanokouji-kun?" Honami asked him.
"I guess?" He replied. "Well at least it's worth it since no one failed the midterms."
"Agreed." Honami then checked the time. They need to return to their dorms before the curfew but on the way, Ayanokouji stopped her. "What's wrong?" She asked as he pointed straight and she looked at the front to see Kikyou standing by the railing from a distance. Gesturing her to keep silent, Ayanokouji stealthy made his way near her undetected and once he's in position, he put his phone in recording and it began.
"So annoying...IT'S SO DAMN ANNOYING!"
"Nani?" Ayanokouji thought as he watched Kikyou vent out her rage and he was most surprised that it's all about Horikita. A minute later, she calmed down and left the area. But he waited first to ensure that she's out of sight and when the coast is clear, he emerged from his hiding and went to meet up with Honami.
"What happened?" She asked and he played the recording. She could not believe her ears. "This...This is the real Kushida-san?! I thought we were friends..."
"And this is why I don't trust her at all and my hunch is correct." He replied as, "What will we do..." Honami asked.
"For now, we keep this to ourselves. Whatever happens, we need to take the necessary measures to protect our class." Ayanokouji told her.
"But what about her?" Honami asked referring to Kikyou.
"We'll just have to watch our backs when she's around us. Better make sure you don't let your guard down. I can tell that she can cook up something nasty when no one's looking and that should also apply to our class." Ayanokouji suggested. Honami nodded in agreement as they continued their walk back to the dorms.
"Kushida-san...who exactly are you and is this really the real you?" Ayanokouji thought internally as they reached the dorms. Better rest up then.
Like I said in the previous chapter, expect long waits or short waits and for this one, my job is much busier than ever especially this month. But good thing I did a lot of thinking and planning for future chapters.
So we got ourselves several changes in this chapter and that includes the class points. Speaking of points, since the class got a full deposit, Ayanokouji is willing to pay the senpai the full price. Easy said than done. We even have a party in a karaoke room for Class A!
Though this chapter is somewhat short, the next one will be long. Okay, see you in the next update!
