Okay, no footer to chapter 4 and no upload in past a week. That can't be left unfixed. Here's a little teaser. Take it away DP and no, you only get two pizzas
Deadpool: Okay, so quick recap. Some demigod with… anger issues and a fighting dude searching for the ultimate battle, destroy a moon, fall through a portal that they made and crash land in some strange world. They proceed to beat each other up before deal with some irritating creatures that dared to interrupt them. Said demigod proceeds to rescue a news lady and some little girl, meet some kids, and beat the daylights out of each other before getting interrupted for the last time by larger creatures….. This should be fun!
Can I go now? You still haven't paid me, dummy
Me: Yes, pizza's in the fridge.
What of the other god guy and his friends? The black one with claws and lots of purple and white eyes. You know…. Has his mouth on his chest, no head, spikes on his head, shoulders, arms, legs?
Me: He's going to be in his own fic but for now… He's doing well fighting some shadow clan in the Underworld.
Do I get to be in a fi…...?
Me: Ok Bye! Back to the fic….
The teams and their professor, along with the two men stood in the centre of the clearing; now circled by a murder consisting of a grand total of eight nevermores. As if the situation could not get worse (or better for a certain martial artist), loud thuds sounded around the clearing as three large scorpion-like creatures and a large black and white four headed snake made their way towards the group, barreling through the trees in their paths. The creatures shared the bone armor and plating with the creatures that the two warriors had killed before, even sharing their hatred.
"And that's our cue to leave" Yang said, emphasizing that they retreat, fight or die. The others, excluding Asura and Akuma didn't need much persuasion or think much about their retreat. It was the only safe course of action, although there was still a problem: In order for them to make it to the LZ of their bullhead, they would have to go around, or through the scorpions.
"Leave, Now!" Asura commanded the teams and Glynda. To bypass the now-present language barrier, Ren translated Asura's command to her.
"The deathstalkers blocked our escape. We have to get past them before we can retreat" Glynda replied to him, with Ren translating her words to the former General.
"Gohadoken!" Akuma's deep voice caught them off guard as he released a faster and larger purple fireball at a nevermore that dived towards him. The Heavy hado surge burnt its way through the bodies of four other nevermores before fading out. The grimm quickly changed tactics, with two of the large scorpions and few of the other nevermores going after the obviously established threat, Akuma, while the rest go after Asura and the Beacon crew. While this sort of attention from the grimm would instill fear before inevitable death to any lone huntsman, it was merely another source of amusement to Akuma, whose face was graced by a feral grin.
"Now we move through the rest" Asura stated, followed by a quick translation from Ren after sighting their confused faces.
"What about him?" Phyrra asked, gesturing to a man, no, a beast ripping off the stinger of a deathstalker and throwing it at another nevermore before delivering a crushing uppercut to the bone plated scorpion, killing it instantly almost without any form of visible effort. "On second thought, he's doing fine" She quickly refocused on the hurdle before them.
Another rain of sharp feathers caused them to split again.
"Make yourselves useful or leave. This better be worth it" Asura stated before lunging at the deathstalker, dodging its attempt to sting him. He landed behind the scorpion, grabbing its retreating tail before flinging the gigantic creature at some nearby trees like it was nothing.
"That leaves the nevermores for us" Ruby stated. Not unlike the rest, she was awestruck at the amount of strength Asura had displayed, but then again, he had done better a few minutes ago. She quickly switched her scythe into sniper mode, taking aim and releasing a clip of high caliber dust rounds into some nevermores. Yang cocked her gauntlets and began unloading shells into the nevermores, with the rest following suite and effectively managing to kill them off while dodging the barrage of feathers.
Asura landed in front of his stunned adversary while it struggled to regain its composure. Moments later, it had stabilized itself, now glaring at Asura. It was going to have his head no matter the cost.
HISSSSS
With a loud hiss, the scorpion proceeded to throw its claw at Asura, but much to everyone's surprise, in a hefty showcase of strength, Asura caught the claw of the deathstalker- with one arm, before completely tearing it off, earning a loud screech of pain from the creature. Asura did not give his opponent any space. In the blink of an eye, he was already over the injured deathstalker, now holding its stinger in one of his six arms. In a gory fashion, he punched a hole into its armored back before jamming the newly created blood geyser with its stinger, effectively killing the beast.
After shaking the blood off his hands, he turned around to find Glynda telekinetically slamming a rock against the head of a nevermore that lunged for her. He raised his palm and fired off a few energy orbs at the last one, killing it. He hadn't noticed it then but now, he could see that the bodies of the beasts faded into dust whenever they had been killed
'Perish before my might!' He thought before turning back to the kids
"Now leave us" He demanded before turning his head to face Akuma, or rather the silhouette of Akuma, his famous kanji just fading from his back and red eyes glowing, emerging from a cloud of black dust in a crater. Akuma turned to face Asura then glanced at Glynda and the teams, before turning back to Asura, rather than engage, he spoke
"I refuse to continue this battle!" Akuma, the Supreme Master of the fist who has never turned down a fight, be it from Bison, Ryu, Gen, Gouken, Seth, Necali or anyone, was backing out from the best fight he had had so far. Asura waited for a while, staring at his opponent. Ren, who understood Akuma's words, was extremely shocked as well but managed to maintain a stoic expression. The crimson-eyed martial artist had just killed two deathstalkers and eight of nevermores without so much as a visible effort, so why would he back down?
"Old friend, you have admitted defeat? I expected more." Asura asked, flashing a wicked grin at Akuma
"You are clearly not fit to continue. Your focus lies elsewhere" Akuma replied earning a look of mild shock from Asura. Akuma's moral code prevented him from fighting anyone who was not willing to fight back or strong enough. As if to confirm his words, Asura glanced at the former spectators for a split second before his pupils concentrated on Akuma again. Akuma, noticing a gesture so quick that only the trained eyes could see, turned to face Glynda and the teenagers, briefly pointing at them before speaking once more "Them! You care for the weaklings?" He asked, expecting an answer but only received an annoyed grunt from Asura
"Very well then!" Akuma barked, another outburst of his voice sending chills down the spines of their spectators, except Glynda who managed to maintain her calmness. "I cannot force you to fight against your will. Hence! We shall meet here" Akuma said, gesturing at some clear ground, leaves gracefully swirling in it and surrounded by a lake of pristine environment "In three years, a battle to submission, one must fall!" Akuma declared, challenging the Rage Deity to a battle to end all battles, and it would start in the same very forest.
Asura stared at Akuma for a short while before responding to his request with a small grunt and a nod of affirmation. He turned around and walked past Glynda and the teams, towards where their supposed vehicle was. Akuma just stood still, arms crossed. He had noticed that the top of his gi was now ripped, making it to hang around his waist. He had to get another one, not that it really mattered. The martial artist, as if on instinct, turned to look at the moon. He did not show it, but he was shocked that it still existed. To the best of his knowledge, he and Asura had completely destroyed the lunar body during their battle. Though the moon he saw was shattered, it was only a part of it that took damage.
'Another moon?' He thought, considering if some other deity had created or tried to fix it but then sensed another abnormality around him. He moved his pupils to meet with those of certain amber eyed faunus, glaring at her with eyes that could kill. Blake felt limp as his eyes fell on her. Faunus were able to perceive different threats in their surroundings since their senses were more irritable than normal humans. Right now, all her senses were telling her to run or she would be killed, but she shook them off. The martial artist had also come to sense a strange energy, not so different from ki, which acted as a shield for them. They needed shields and weapons to fight, still pathetic.
"Professor Goodwitch" Ren called out, gaining hers and everyone else's attention "What do we do now?"A question that could not be answered with a complete plan. Their original mission was to bring the two of them to Ozpin for debriefing. They were surer than sure that forcing the crimson-eyed man in front of them against his will would leave them dead and as for the other nicer one, he was…..
"Where's Asura?" It was Ruby who asked this question, now realizing that the man had slipped past them. Phyrra, Blake and Goodwitch, the only ones who truly paid attention to Asura knew the direction he headed but none knew of his purpose.
"He went that way, or was it that way" Nora attempted to guess where Asura had gone but was silenced by her silent partner with a nudge. At this moment, Glynda snapped out of her thoughts noticed that if Asura kept moving in the direction he went, he would surely run into their escape bullhead and if he discarded them, he would surely arrive at Beacon Academy after some time.
"We must go after Asura, now!" Glynda told the students. Asura was by far, their better shot at learning more about the two and they still did not know the other one's name either. Without hesitation, they all ran in the direction Asura previously followed, out of the clearing and into the vegetation, leaving Akuma along with the now retreating news crew behind.
"Why are we going after him instead of retreating?" Weiss threw the question out of the blue, still oblivious of Asura's whereabouts. It was surprisingly Blake that answered with a question of hers
"Would you rather follow the Lion man?" was the question that kept Weiss shut for the remainder of the jog. They approached another natural clearing where their bullhead had been waiting for them. They began to walk towards the bullhead from its side. As they prepared to board the vehicle…
"Who's that man?" A pilot asked. Their attention slowly turned to where the pilot faced, only to find Asura in front of their bullhead, now with only two arms, staring at their vehicle.
Asura stared at their contraption of a vehicle for a while. Mantra was needed for Gaea's ships to work but this didn't run on any form of mantra, at least none that he knew of. The craftsmanship of the bullhead was alien to Asura, not resembling anything from Gaea. Had he fought Akuma for so long that Gaea's people underwent much technological evolution? No, that was definitely not the case. He had only measured a grand total of four years on the moon, not a day more. This was something that intrigued him; he would have to look into this later.
"General As…" Ren tried to get Asura's attention by using his honorific but was abruptly cut off
"Just Asura!" Asura stated, his sudden tone slightly spooking Ren beside him.
"Sorry Asura." Ren apologized with a courteous bow then continued "We would like to escort you to Beacon Academy to speak with our Headmaster. He requires your presence" Ren had put his request in the most polite way possible in order to persuade Asura to go with them. This only made Asura more confused. In all his millennia, he had never heard of any institution called Beacon in Gaea. Come to think of it, he had found himself in yet another strange situation. The names he had heard all sounded funny, the children fought wannabe monsters with highly complex weapons and there was moonlight: the moon here was shattered, but not completely destroyed from his fight. Then realization hit him, the different landscape, moon's presence, and weird gouma: He had either for another few millennia, then resurrected or was in another world.
Asura then remembered the kid beside him, still awaiting a response. He then decided to ask, "What for?" He still needed answers and had questions of his own for this Ozpin man.
Ren was about to answer when Asura cut him off again by waving, this time with a question
"Forget it. Where is this Beacon?" Asura turned to face Ren, expecting a response. Ren quickly regained himself and pointed towards the direction of Beacon before speaking again
"We have a bullhead going there. If you're interested, we can take you with us" Asura had considered using this form of transport but at the last moment, he decided to go on his own.
"Don't worry, kid. We will meet there" He glanced towards the ground, adding one last word "Mithra", now thinking about that Rose girl that looked like his kidnapped daughter. Ren, in response, bowed and thanked Asura for his time. Neither of them noticed the pair of ominous crimson eyes that stared at them. As Asura turned to glance at the prying eyes, they had already blurred out of sight and into the forest. His rival was going to Beacon as well. He was not sure when, but he knew he would meet Akuma there. Wherever there were warriors, there was Akuma.
"Don't mention it" He waved Ren off before proceeding in the direction of Beacon, deep in thought about his current predicament and the new world. Ren turned back and proceeded to finally board the bullhead. He was greeted by the stares of his fellow students and Glynda.
"What was his response?" Glynda asked, in hope of a positive answer
Ren nodded in the affirmative, calming his teammates
"So if he's coming, where is he?" Weiss asked, noticing that Asura did not follow Ren into the bullhead.
"He said to meet him there" Ren answered. As soon as Ren took his seat, Glynda gave the signal and the bullhead took off, before heading in the direction of Beacon.
"How do you think he'll get to Beacon? Surely, he's not going to run there" Jaune called out. He made a good point. Beacon was a twenty minute journey by bullhead from their part of the forest, so If Asura was to go on foot; he would take hours to get there, not to mention the amount of grimm he would have to go through on the way.
"You saw him fight, Jaune. I'm sure he'll be fine" Ruby replied before looking upwards and muttering "hopefully" to herself
Glynda got on her tablet and contacted Ozpin, whose voice sounded out
"Was the mission a success?"
"We managed to convince the white-haired man and conversed with him. So far, we know of his name, General Asura, nothing more. He speaks in a language that Lie Ren regards as an ancient Mistrilian tongue"
"Interesting, a war lord "Ozpin remarked, nodding slightly "Is he on the bullhead now?"
"Negative. He proposed to go on foot instead of following us in the bullhead. He is on his way to Beacon grounds as we speak"
"Interesting, Glynda. You've done enough for now" Ozpin finally said before his voice cut off the line.
The rest of the flight was relatively silent with everyone thinking about the events that just transpired. Meanwhile, far below the bullhead at ground level, a quick moving, red blur dashed past, expertly dodging or jumping over the trees. The deity, moving at an incomprehensible speed was bound on getting information. How did he end up here? He was in Gaea just over an hour ago and now, he was in some planet that looked like Gaea. This Ozpin fellow was going to tell him more if he played his cards right. His plan was to do this without any form of violence but if the need arose, he was not going to hesitate.
'Till then, Ozpin'
Beacon Academy, 15 minutes later
The bullhead that carried Glynda and the teams landed at Beacon. Teams RWBY, JNPR and Glynda got off the vehicle, eyes scanning around for Asura but found Ozpin waiting instead.
"So where is he?" Ozpin said with a straight face. Before anyone could answer, a red blur emerged from the bottom of the cliffs, a trail of dust following behind it. The red blur flew upwards, creating a gust of wind that blew across the dock before crashing on the floor behind Ozpin, leaving a small crater and a dust cloud from which the figure of Asura emerged from.
"Now that…" Yang exclaimed, gesturing towards Asura "is how you make an entrance!" Asura's entrance was not something that he planned, it just happened naturally, though he maybe should have turned it down a notch.
"Well done teams, you may return to your dorms" Ozpin commended the teams on bringing Asura. Asura glanced at them while they retreated back to their respective quarters before refocusing his gaze on the structure before him. In front of him stood a building, no, a castle resembling one fit for an Emperor. This could pass off more as his residence than a school.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" Ozpin asked. Over the course of his many lifetimes, Ozpin had become very knowledgeable of many languages, ancient Mistrilian inclusive: Hence, the reason why he was able to fluently speak to Asura.
Asura did not pay attention to this reason but still chose to respond as not to cause excess suspicion. "It is. Though, I have seen better". He was not wrong as during his years as a General and a Deity, he had seen many impressive structures, some of which outclassed Beacon.
"Excuse my rudeness. I believe I am yet to introduce myself. I am Ozpin, Headmaster of Beacon Academy. You have already met Glynda" Ozpin said, gesturing to Glynda. The woman in question merely adjusted her glasses before Ozpin continued "I believe you are General Asura"
Asura held back his anger. He did not like to relive his past when he served as a General, so he replied "Just call me Asura. I have no need of the honorific"
Ozpin, still maintaining his stoic expression spoke again "Very well then. I would prefer a conversation with you in private". Normally, Asura would have declined this request and moved on but he had two reasons not to do so. First, he had some questions of his own. He knew very little of the new world. He would be able to survive in it, but until he could find a way back to Gaea, he was going to need enough information on it. Secondly, he was extremely sure that the people he was to protect were going to have questions about his battle, landing, Akuma and generally, more about him. Leaving them without answers would arouse suspicion and that would lead to hostility towards him but too much of the truth would also yield the same result.
Aster some thought, he finally spoke "After you". Ozpin turned to his assistant and informed her that they were heading to his office. She nodded before leading Asura and Ozpin through the empty halls and into the elevator of Ozpin's tower.
The ride was short, but during this period, Asura noticed something strange about Ozpin, he would ask about this later.
Soon enough, Asura was in Ozpin's office. 'Did the man really need that much clocks?' he thought. Ozpin had moved behind his desk and taken a seat, with Glynda standing next to him. Asura preferred to stand on the other side of the desk, leaning on a nearby wall.
Asura gave Ozpin the first chance to ask questions. The curiosity was basically written across his face. "So…Asura, first of all, where are you from?" This was one of the questions Asura knew he would be asked first, so he devised a plan during his journey to Beacon, which involved tell the truth.
"I hail from Gaea" Asura replied the question, then crossed his arms and stared at Ozpin, waiting to confirm his predicament. If he referred to Gaea as an old name, then surely it would mean he resurrected again without his knowledge. This was unlikely since Akuma could not do the same but still, they had just fought again.
Ozpin looked at Asura for any telltale signs that he was lying, but could find nothing. Hence, he questioned "I am yet to hear of such a place, care to emphasize?" His grip on his cane tightening, knowing well that Asura had fallen from nowhere. Glynda had quickly noticed his gesture and proceeded to do the same with her crop. This had not escaped the godly eyes of Asura, who chose to play calm and avoid unnecessary violence or murder.
"It is far away from your world" He spoke, not moving from the wall he was leaning on. Ozpin took a moment to contemplate what Asura had just said. The concept of other worlds had been proposed but so far, there had been no proof of their existence, not until earlier today.
Asura decided that before Ozpin could ask any more questions, he needed some answers of his own. He suddenly stood upright, dethatching his back from the wall behind him, before walking closer to Ozpin's desk.
"Before you ask any more, I too have some queries" He stated. Ozpin nodded slightly, giving Asura the signal to go ahead with his questions.
"Firstly, where am I and what is the situation with this place?" Normally, anyone who would ask such a question would be deemed insane but since Asura was completely new to this world Ozpin decided to explain the concept of Remnants to him.
"You're in a world known as Remnant…"
I'M MAD LAZY SO WE'LL SKIP THE EXPLANATION
After half an hour, Ozpin was done explaining about Remnant to Asura. Asura, having listened to the entire thing from beginning to end had taken notes of the most important parts:
'Four kingdoms, evil creatures that despise humanity, Warriors that combat the creatures- hunters and huntresses, The Training Academies, Some soul shield- Aura that comes with a special power- a Semblance and finally, some natural resource crystals called dust'. He was in another world for sure. Asura merely nodded his head before tearing the ceiling a quick glance. He refocused his sight on the two in front of him. Even Ozpin and Glynda were surprised that he took the entire revelation quite calmly but did not show it. For Asura on the other hand, this could qualify as just another day of his life. When you've seen as much as he has, it would take a lot to surprise you. He had most of what he needed to know now….. But one
"How many times have you died, Ozpin?"
Le cliffhanger as usual. I want to take this chance to apologize for this late upload. I've been attending to some other issues and just returned to writing so… yeah... that's it. I'm sorry for the wait and remember to leave a review. I accept criticism as well. Adios
