When I regained consciousness, the only thing I heard was crying. I opened my eyes, only to be met with darkness.
"Over here Lord third!" I heard someone say.
I immediately knew where I was, I was sent to the day Naruto was born, the day the nine-tailed fox was sealed inside him, this was good and bad. I had a chance to maybe reason with Kurama and help with Naruto's development, and if I couldn't, maybe Kurama wouldn't be needed if one of my plans work. In any case, Naruto is safe right now and I should see if I could awaken my chakra.
One week later
I've finally awakened my chakra, and I have to say, I never knew how energized I would feel, even though I didn't have a body. Over the past few days, I've also finally found my way into Naruto's mindscape. It's a giant white room right now but that should change as he grows, except for the cage. I cautiously looked into the cage, not getting too close. A small blast of hot air hit me in the face startling me.
"That smell." Two giant red eyes opened and boor down at me.
"Why is there another human in my jailer?"
The nine tails asked letting out some of his killing intent.
I immediately froze, the killing intent I felt was overwhelming.
"I-I wanted to talk to you, K-Kyuubi sama."
The KI eased up finally letting me move a little, but a cold sweat still rolled down my back.
"I wanted to ask for your cooperation with Naruto in the future."
The Kyuubi snorted. "Bold of you to assume I would even consider this proposal, human. I've been sealed inside this brat for merely a week and I would already let him die to escape."
My eyes harden. "Jeez, I knew Kurama was a dick in the beginning, but letting Naruto die? I wonder what changed in the time between now and the valley of the end?"
"I believe you've overlooked a major detail Kyuubi sama. The Fourth Hokage used the reaper death seal to split your chakra and took your other half with him into the shinigami's stomach. If you die, you'll join your other half for eternity within the shinigami."
His eyes widened in realization and then narrowed on me.
"Who are you human, and why are you doing all of this?"
I wracked my brain for a good enough half-truth but I realized I could get through to him if I tell him about my situation, as the nine tails he should be able to keep a secret.
"I was reincarnated here to guide Naruto, and if I can make the lives of anyone I meet better, I will at least try."
"And what's in it for me if I help the kid?"
"I have a few plans for that, but for at least 10 years you'll be stuck in here."
After a while of contemplation, the Kyuubi agreed. "Fine, but what would you have done if I hadn't agreed?" Genuinely curious.
I have him a piercing stare. "I've made at least twenty plans before this encounter, ten of which were without you, and five made sure you were at least useful in the end."
The Kyuubi bristled in anger as I walked away from his cage. "Maybe I won't be as bored as I thought."
