I take back what I said, I'm bored as shit. It's been about two years, I think. Surprisingly I don't have my chakra source, I've awakened Naruto's and can use it as my own. When I first truly awakened his chakra, (when he was about six months old) I found that his chakra reserves are pretty big compared to the other children. If I had to guess, there as big as a Genin's. Before then, when I practiced my powers, I used my spiritual energy, I don't know if I should call it chakra or magic, so I'll just stick with energy. Ever since I awakened his chakra, I've channeled it into his bone marrow along with mine and Kurama's chakra. I've, of course, dealt with my inner darkness and have slowly started purifying Kurama's chakra as I feed his bone marrow. Because of this, Naruto's chakra reserves have grown over twenty times and he is very healthy physically. I've also gotten to ask Kurama's name so now I don't need to keep calling him Kyuubi, he's starting to mellow out a little with someone to talk to and I think I'll be able to start my plans soon.

Naruto's quality of life has started to decline, he's started to notice how differently he is treated by the caretakers of the orphanage compared to others. If I remember right, he'll be kicked to the curb by age four. Until then I'll need to help Naruto in any way I can, it's time to meet him.

Naruto sat alone at night in his dimly lit room, curled up with a solemn expression. He had once again been yelled at and sent to his room early with no dinner for wanting to play with the other children. Tears ran down his face as he wondered why he was hated. Suddenly, Naruto felt drained of energy and he heard a light poof along with a cloud of smoke beside him. Standing there was a kid a little older than Naruto with black spikey hair and dark gray eyes, other than those features he could be mistaken for a clone of himself. He quickly wiped his tears away and stood up in Suprise.

"Who are you? and how did you do that!?" he asked in amazement.

The older boy chuckled and pointed at himself with his thumb. "You can call me Menma, and I'd like to be your friend."

Naruto's eyes began to water as he hesitantly got closer to me. "But, why do you want to be friends with me?"

I smiled and placed his hand on Naruto's head. "You're not a bad kid Naruto, and if no one can see that then they shouldn't be your friends."

Naruto wrapped his arms around me and gave him a tiny bone-crushing hug. "Hey, if you squeeze me too hard, I'll disappear." I chuckled.

He quickly got off me and dried his tears as he sat on the bed next to me. "So, who are you? And how did you get here?"

"Think of me as a secret friend, can you keep this secret?" I said whispering in his ear.

He smiled and nodded covering his mouth.

At that moment we heard footsteps coming in the hallway. "Naruto, listen, don't tell anybody about me, and the next time you want to talk to me do this." I said clapping my hands together in a praying manner. "And say, I summon Menma! Ok? I'll see you later." I said, poofing out of existence.

"This will make things more interesting, and as a bonus, I can start making some beneficial changes, for all of us."
