"Get out, demon!" The caretaker said throwing Naruto out just before sun set. "I better not catch you anywhere near here ever again!" she yelled before slamming the door on Naruto.
In an instant, I poofed into existence helping Naruto up. He hugged me and started crying into my shirt.
"Brother, why does everyone hate me so much? Why can't I be treated like everyone else?"
I was surprised for a second before I stroked Naruto's head as I hugged him back. My frustration for the villagers building. I knew Naruto's childhood was pretty bad in the anime, but having to watch what the anime didn't show him experience is just so much worse. I can't help but be more protective of Naruto the longer I spent with him, just wait until he learns the Talk-no-Jutsu.
I held him in a tight hug as I stroke his hair. "I'm sorry I can't tell you right now Naruto. But I promise when you are ready, you'll know the truth."
Naruto looked into my eyes, hurt plastered on his face along with depressed resignation as he started to calm down.
"Look Naruto, the sun is just starting to set and the orphanage hasn't fed you yet. I know a place you can eat while I find you a safe place to stay. Would you like that?" I asked rubbing his back.
He nodded as I led him to his future favorite Ramen stand.
"Uh... Menma?" Naruto asked sounding nervous.
"What is it?"
"Sorry I called you brother without permission."
I smiled as Naruto looked up to me. "Well, I wasn't expecting it, but I don't really care what you call me, so its fine." I finished before we arrived at a Ramen. It looked like they were cleaning up, getting ready for closing as we walked in.
"Excuse me? Are you still open?" I asked
The Noodle guy I forgot the name of turned around and froze for a second as he took in the appearance of Naruto and I before he smiled.
"Yes we are, I was just doing some early cleaning. What can I get for you two?"
"Do you have anything small you can give us? We don't have any money?" I asked
The Noodle guy waved his hand as he finished drying his hands. "Don't worry about it kids, since it's your first time here, Its on the house."
Naruto hesitantly got onto a stool and I helped him pick some food.
"If you don't mind me asking what are you kids names?" he asked as he started preparing our food.
"I'm Menma, and this is Naruto." I said gesturing toward Naruto.
"Nice to meet both of you, my name is Teuchi Ichiraku, and this is my ramen stand." He said placing two giant bowels of ramen Infront of us.
Naruto and my jaws dropped at the sheer size of the bowls facing us.
"Is this ok?" Naruto asked slightly drooling at the smell of the ramen hitting his nose.
"I told you already, Its on the house for your first time here." Teuchi smiled
Naruto and I took a mouthful of our noodles. Our eyes lit up as we devoured our bowls. What Naruto said in the anime could have never lived up to what I was tasting. Luckly anything I ate would be directly converted into Magic. I guess that's how the skeleton bro's ate.
"So what are you two doing here at this hour?" Teuchi asked as we finished our bowls.
Naruto's expression dimmed and I sighed. "It's personal." I said before getting up. "Thank you for the food Teuchi, we will be going now." I said taking Naruto's hand
"Come back soon!"
Naruto and I wandered through Moonlit streets looking for a place for Naruto to sleep. Soon we found a one close to the Hokage tower and got as comfortable we could before Naruto fell asleep on me.
With Naruto asleep I left my body and woke up back in Naruto's mindscape Infront of a cage. "Hey Kurama, you awake?" I yelled at the top of my lungs.
I heard irritated growling before a blast of air impacted my face. "Well, I'm up now you annoying pest." he growled.
"If you think I'm annoying now, just wait until you get a temporary body." I snickered. "Speaking of which, it's really early, but I believe we can accelerate my plan."
Kurama purked up in interest. "Which plan of yours?"
I smirked. "The one were you can live outside of the seal."
Kurama grew an excited grin. "Well? What are we waiting for?"
My face grew more serious. "There are some rules you will need to follow however."
He groaned and complained like a child forced to do chores until he gave a final huff. "Fine then, what are the rules? And if you try anything you will perish for your attempt."
I rolled my eyes and held out my hand. "There are five rules you must follow. Rule one, you will not attack any civilian or ninja unless they attack you first. Rule two, if you have no choice but to defend yourself or Naruto you will use non leathle force injuring the attacked as little as you can."
"That will be quite hard considering my strength." Kurama pointed out.
"Rule three, you will only be allowed one tail of power on the outside unless necessary, also meaning you will only be the size of an Inazuka pup."
I had to hold back laughter seeing the scandals look on Kuramas face. "Rule four, you will be, at minimum, nice to Naruto and help him if he is having trouble. And finally rule five, You will try to be respectful to everybody and tell your story to the Hokage when the time comes."
"Ugh fine, I can deal with your dumb rules. Now tell me how to get out!"
