Hinata sighed as her phone vibrated again. When were they going to stop? It wasn't going to work this time.

She opened her lock screen only to get rid of the notification, but it wasn't her normal messenger app, as she feared. A quick picture message app she didn't even use had a message for her. Her sister had tried to get into it, but she wasn't a fan of taking pictures of herself, so they went back to a normal message app after too many pictures of her notebooks or nearby walls.

She opened it.

Inside was a picture of a man's shoes with the message: 'Where the hell are you?' From Sasuke Uchiha.

Should she reply and tell him he likely had the wrong person, or should she just wait for him to figure it out?

Another message. 'I can see you read it!'

Rude. He was likely trying to message Naruto. Hinata looked around for the girliest thing in her room. She took a picture of the bear in a tutu on the shelf her sister had won her at a festival. 'I think you have the wrong number.' Her finger hovered over the send button.

Maybe it was too rude.

No, this was Sasuke. Nothing fazed him. Hinata sent it anyway, setting her phone down and returning to her book. The phone vibrated again.

This time, it was his bag. 'Sorry, waiting for the town idiot. Clicked the wrong name.' At least he apologized.

Hinata took a picture of the book she wasn't sure she wanted to return to. 'It's okay.'

A few minutes later, she got another message. This one seemed intentional.

'Hey, do you like movies?'

Hinata checked that it was still Sasuke. 'I guess why?'

She received a picture of the latest movie poster, an adventure movie that had been advertised non-stop with his hand, and two tickets held up. `I have two tickets for it in 20 minutes, and I think Naruto forgot. I can't get a hold of him.'

Hinata double-checked the message before clicking out. 'You want me to come?'

This time, he sent a picture of his face looking annoyed at the question. 'Yes, you.'

Looking at the clock, she could make it to the theater in time, but going to a movie with Sasuke? Why her?

She chewed her lip, looking at her ignored notifications from her normal messenger app.

'I'll be there in 15.' Hinata launched herself up to get dressed.

Hinata held her phone up to the theater and took a picture, sending it to Sasuke as she walked in. She had barely hit send when she noticed someone beside her.

"Hey," Sasuke greeted as his phone pinged. He glanced down and got a twitch of a smile.

"Hi…" Hinata had jumped into this and didn't think it through. She and Sasuke were barely acquaintances. They have been in the same classes over the years but never worked together. They were in the same friend circle but with little overlap. Both were part of prominent families, but their families tried their best not to interact. Besides that, she hadn't been to a movie in a while, and it had always been a thing between her and her friends, and she wasn't expecting the sinking feeling she got when walking in.

Was this a betrayal to them? Should she care?

"You like popcorn?" Sasuke pointed toward the counter.

Hinata loved popcorn. It was always better at a movie theater. She nodded, and he walked ahead of her toward the concession stand. They waited in line. "Naruto probably fell asleep," Sasuke grumbled, looking at his phone. "He was the one who wanted to see this movie in the first place."

Hinata looked at her shoes. What did she even say? "Is it meant to be good?"

"Not sure." Sasuke shrugged. Hinata tilted her head. Why was he going to it then? "Look, I already bought the tickets and didn't want to go to a movie theater alone like a weirdo."

"Why not, Sakura?" Hinata might be shooting herself in the foot here, but it was odd that he didn't ask any of his friends to fill in.

"I'm not making that mistake again," Sasuke looked back down at his phone.

What had happened the last time?

They reached the counter, and Hinata ordered the biggest popcorn and soda. Sasuke ordered medium. She paid. "You paid for the tickets." She excused. "And I got the big one." She grabbed her massive popcorn and headed to the 'butter' station.

Hinata grabbed a straw and stuck it in the popcorn and the other end to the butter spout. She felt a confused stare for Sasuke. She blushed. It did look weird. "It gets the butter in the middle."

Sasuke raised an eyebrow but shrugged and set his popcorn by hers. "Do mine, too, then."

Hinata nodded and continued.

"That was the worst movie." Sasuke headed out of the theater.

Hinata giggled. It wasn't good. She wouldn't say it was the worst, but it was a rather explosive action movie that had been overdone with a bad romance subplot and lots of guns, cars, and ridiculous effects. On top of that, there was a kid behind Sasuke who kicked his seat. Some people were talking, and a couple were making out nearby. However, sitting with him wasn't as awkward as she thought it might be. She was more entertained by his irritation with everything and quiet complaints about the bad plot. "I agree. It wasn't a very good movie."

"Oh, look who woke up." Sasuke titled his phone and the picture of Naruto's half-lidded face and an apology.

Hinata gave him a sympathetic look. "Well, I enjoyed my time. Thank you for inviting me."

"You enjoyed this?" Sasuke looked at her ludicrously.

"I enjoyed your comments. I think your… pessimistic take on it is amusing." Hinata explained, hoping it didn't sound as weird as she thought it did.

Sasuke shrugged. "At least you enjoyed it." Hinata hoped he didn't think of it as her laughing at his pain. "We should do this again."

"What?" Hinata wondered.

"Watching movies with Naruto is painful. He asks questions throughout the whole thing, like we aren't watching the same damn movie, thinks everything is great, and hates any critics. I prefer you." Sasuke explained.

Hinata had to admit that it was the first time in a while that she enjoyed herself and had forgotten the loom of her inbox full of messages that had been haunting her. "I wouldn't mind that."

Sasuke nodded, satisfied.
