10:49:04, after driving on roadblock-free roads for a few minutes, the Left 4 Dead Survivors reach their first zombie blockade. Which will be cleared by the Left 4 Dead 2 Survivors.
Jake: Here's our first zombie-filled road, guys.
Coach: Looks like we're up, get ready.
Snowden: That's the German-American Friendship Garden on our left. I suggest you clear that out too so we won't have to worry about the Infected there later. Besides, the last thing we want is a Tank toppling us or leaving unknown, helpless survivors behind.
Coach: Yeah, you're right.
Ellis: Good call.
Rochelle: I agree.
Nick: So do I.
Snowden: Keith and Ellis had the right idea back there. Charmaine, wanna keep watch outside with me?
Charmaine: Of course.
Snowden: *smiles* Everyone else, stay here, rest up and gear up.
Coach: Okay, *claps* let's go.
[Tour Bus door opens]
Once Coach, Ellis, Rochelle and Nick are away, Snowden takes his security post and reviews the sketches he collected throughout his journey here. And this gets Charmaine curious.
Charmaine: You know, despite my sisters' pranks and my outfit, I actually love the snow.
Snowden: Me too, actually. Despite being born and raised in a pretty hot place.
Charmaine: Hmm. What you got there?
Snowden: Drawings I've found in CEDA tents. Possibly reports of new Special Infected. I may have seen the carnage they've left before.
Charmaine: Well, shit. Where were these CEDA tents?
Snowden: The USS Nimitz aircraft carrier, South Beach, Miami, and the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. You know, with these in mind, The Infection is starting to look a lot more like a biological terrorist attack or the first phase of a full-scale invasion than a man-made accident or a natural outbreak.
Charmaine: Now that you've mentioned it, I remember CEDA telling Chester and I that they couldn't confirm what The Green Flu actually is or where it came from.
Snowden: I don't know for sure yet, but my instincts tell me that there's a cover-up surrounding The Infection and The Green Flu.
Charmaine: Million-dollar question?
Snowden: Who is behind all this?
Charmaine: Down the bloody rabbit hole. Chester always told me he didn't like what he was putting together. If what you and him are expecting is true, then it is way above and beyond our pay grade Snow'.
Snowden: I know, Charm'. But if someone doesn't piece it together, who will? America might just be a stepping stone. *sighs* Until we know for sure, keep your eyes and ears open, and be on your guard. Especially around Marc. I don't wanna lose you.
Charmaine: 10-4. Try to do the same, Matthew. I don't wanna lose you too.
In the German-American Friendship Garden, the team makes good progress as they clear the area and search for other survivors. Several zombies, a Hunter and a Smoker later, they notice a Tank and ready themselves for it.
[Silenced Submachine Gun fire]
[Smoker Coughs]
Nick: Smoker!
[Grenade Launcher fire]
[Smoker Death]
Ellis: Hit!
Nick: You're pretty good at this now, Ellis.
[Hard Rain Muddy and Red Magazine M16 Assault Rifle fire]
[Hunter Growls]
Rochelle: Hunter!
[M60 Machine Gun fire]
[Hunter Death]
Coach: That one's mine!
Rochelle: Looking great, Coach. Clear on this side! No survivors!
Nick: Clear on that side, no survivors.
[Tank Growls]
Rochelle: Hear that? Be ready to fire.
[Tank Theme plays]
[Tank Throws]
Coach: There's the Tank! Kill it!
[gunfire]
[Tank Yells]
[Tank Punches]
Nick: Argh!
[Tank Death]
Nick: Thanks for having my back.
Coach: We still got you, Nick.
After surviving the Tank fight thanks to his teammates, Nick finally decides to tell them who he is.
Nick: Hey, before we get back, I figured I owe you an explanation. About who I am and all that, if you're up for it.
Ellis: Hell, man, you don't really have to. But I think we'd appreciate the honesty.
Nick: Okay. I was part of the Italian mob, the Blue Mafia to be specific. We worked closely with the Hell's Legion motorcycle club, and I thought they were greasy scumbags. Which is why I hated Francis the first time we met him, until I saw how he was gentle with Rochelle. When I managed to find love for the first time, I tried to get married and leave the criminal underworld. But my wife, or ex-wife, or late wife, got killed by our rival, the Red Mafia, before we could kiss. Seeing her die and her family cry kept me from leaving when the cops came. I even went to jail willingly and cleaned her wedding dress while inside. When my bosses bailed me out, they wanted me to come back. As I was one of the best in killing and gun running. But I never did because I was God damn depressed, and I promised her that I'd leave. Then I turned to gambling to cope until I got arrested again in Savannah. *sighs* When The Infection hit, I found out that I may have been miserable but I also didn't want to die. So I stole this suit and planned a new beginning. I just hope I can do it right this time.
Rochelle: Damn, I'm sorry.
Coach: Hey, if you think you need a family, people you can trust, it can be us. But we won't stop you if you want to leave when this is all over.
Ellis: Yeah. I'm gonna miss you when you're gone. Just remember to say goodbye first.
Nick: Thanks, Coach, Ellis, Rochelle. I'll think about it first.
With the revelation finished, Coach, Ellis, Rochelle and Nick wrap up their sweep of the German-American Friendship Garden with no other survivors and no more Tanks. But just like before, a horde is summoned and none of the Left 4 Dead Survivors are at fault.
[Left 4 Dead 3 horde screeching]
Coach: Damn it! Why is this happening?!
Rochelle: Guns up, there they are!
[gunfire]
[Pandemic Hiatus Horde Theme plays]
So they run and gun down the road, reach the Tour Bus and kill the horde with Snowden and Charmaine. Once it is done, they get on board and continue their trip to Southwest Waterfront Park.
Nick: Should be everyone.
[Tour Bus door closes]
Nick: You guys are the best! *laughs*
We're safe... for now.
