Hell in a Cell: October 27, 2013

Randy and I walked into Triple H and Stephanie's office together. Randy had one of his arms around my waist and kept a tight grip on me. Triple H and Stephanie looked surprised to see me and Randy together.

"I didn't know you were coming with Randy." Stephanie comments to me.

I shrug. "You don't have anything to worry about. I don't have it in me to try to fight one of your schemes tonight. Do whatever you please."

Everyone goes silent for a few minutes.

"What brings you here?" Triple H asks me.

"I didn't have much to do, and Randy figured you'd want to see him. Figured I'd join." I answer.

"I understand. We actually don't have a scheme tonight. Shawn is calling the match down the middle. We trust you enough to win, Randy."

"Good because that's exactly what I'm gonna do." Randy pulled me even closer to him.

I leaned on Randy. "You do that."

Stephanie nodded as she watched me and Randy closely. "So what made you change your mind about us scheming?"

"You were at the contract signing on Monday. Daniel put me in harm's way. I almost got caught by that Running Knee."

"Yeah, it's good that Randy was there to shove you out of the way."

"Yeah. Thanks again, Randy."

"Of course, babe." Randy kisses my cheek. "I'm going to go get my gear on. Do you want me to grab Junior from Renee before I come back here?"

"Yes, thank you."

"I'll do that. See you in a bit." Randy leaves and closes the door behind him.

Stephanie looks at me. "I thought you and Randy were having issues."

"We were." I answer. "But we've agreed to work on things. It was a mutual decision."

"Oh…that's good I guess."

I looked at Stephanie with a little suspicion because she didn't seem completely happy that Randy and I had been trying to work things out. "It is a good thing."

"Yeah, does that mean we're cool for now? Are you going to work with us now?"

"I will, but I'm not going to be a lackey in the slightest."

I stood in guerilla, watching the WWE Championship Hell in a Cell match. Despite making this match myself, I did have concerns every single time Randy wrestled inside Hell in a Cell. A person usually didn't make it out of that match without getting hurt by the cell. I would know. I had a Hell in a Cell match myself four years ago.

However, that wasn't the biggest thing on my mind at the moment. What was on my mind was the fact that Stephanie and Paul didn't seem to be too happy that Randy and I were trying to work things out. Stephanie had tried to fake being a little happy for me and Randy, but I saw right through that bullshit. Paul didn't even really acknowledge it. The girls were right. Stephanie and Paul saw me and Randy as a threat. I was certain of it.

Randy hit Daniel with a Superplex onto a pile of steel chairs before pinning him.

1…2…kickout!

Randy and Shawn start arguing. Paul heads out towards the ring. I started getting a bit worried. Randy goes to pin Daniel, but Shawn and Paul are arguing. Randy argues with Shawn for a few as before Randy and Shawn both get back in the ring. Daniel goes for a Yes Lock on Randy, but Randy escapes and catches Daniel with the Draping DDT. Randy goes for the RKO but Daniel shoves Randy into Shawn, knocking Shawn down.

I watch on from backstage in concern as Paul is with a referee and a doctor, in the process of getting the door on the cell open to check on Shawn. Daniel hits Randy with a Running Knee and pins him, but there's no one there to count the pin.

Daniel tries to get Shawn up, but Paul gets into the ring and pulls Daniel away before shoving him. Paul checks on Shawn. Daniel catches Paul with a Running Knee and starts a yes chant. Shawn gets up and hits Daniel with Sweet Chin Music before checking on Paul.

Randy slides over and pins Daniel. Shawn hesitates but decides to count the pin.

1…2…3!

"The winner of this match and NEW WWE Champion, Randy Orton!"

I sighed. The ending of the match was messy, but Randy wrestled clean. He didn't do anything wrong. To be honest, in that particular situation, I probably would've pinned my opponent too. I had been at the point where I was willing to look past Randy doing some cheating, but that wasn't even what happened tonight.

Shawn exited the ring and started heading up the ramp while looking like he was a bit regretful. I could understand why. I rushed down to the ring as the cell was raised to check on Randy. Randy was leaning against the corner, holding his newly won WWE Championship, as I entered the ring. Randy saw me and smiled. I moved to his side.

"Are you physically alright?" I quietly ask.

"Yes." Randy answered. "Are you upset over how I won?"

"No."

"But I…"

I put a finger up to his lips. "I already told you that I would be fine with any way that you won tonight. Plus, I know you didn't scheme with Shawn anyway. Had something like this happened if I was in the same situation, I would've pinned my opponent too. You and I are cool. Congratulations."

"Thanks, beautiful." Randy looks at the WWE Championship one more time before kissing me.

I kiss back. "I'm happy for you."

Randy pulls out of the kiss. "Thanks. I want nothing more."

"I can't just have you not defend the WWE Championship, but I'm going to be in your corner. I'll be supporting you every single time you have to defend it. I want you to be WWE Champion for as long as possible."

"Does that possibly include you managing me some?"

"If you want it to. Is Paul alright?"

Randy and I both looked over to still see Paul lying on the mat. We walked over to him.

Randy helped Paul up and showed him the WWE Championship. "I won."

Paul smirked and nodded. "Good."

"Are you alright after that Running Knee?" I ask with concern.

"Yeah…are you and I cool? I wasn't trying to mess up the match any. I just wanted to check on Shawn."

"We're cool, Paul. I get it."

"Great." Paul raised Randy's arm in the air.

I smiled. While I didn't like this particular situation that Randy and I had found ourselves in, this is exactly how things needed to be right now. Since I knew that Stephanie and Paul were likely feeling threatened by me and Randy, I needed them to trust us both right now. They needed to trust us until Randy and I were able to get a plan to get out of this mess with both of us harmed as little as possible. Paul exited the ring. Randy held the rope and waited on me to exit as well. I exited the ring, and Randy immediately followed behind me.

Randy put his arm around me as we walked up the ramp. "I'm just glad you're happy with me."

I smile at him. "Be happy about being WWE Champion too, Randy. You deserve it."

We made it backstage with Paul. Stephanie immediately made her way over to us.

"Congratulations!" Stephanie pulls Randy into a hug. "The WWE Championship is right back where it belongs!"

Randy smiles. "Thanks, Stephanie."

I look at Randy. "I'll catch you in a little bit. I need to get Junior."

"We could watch him tonight." Stephanie offers.

"We don't need anyone to watch him overnight. We appreciate the offer though."

"Randy just won the WWE Championship. You two should celebrate." Paul tells us. "The kid is our nephew. We can watch him overnight tonight. You two can get some time alone."

Randy and I exchanged a glance. Randy nodded.

"Alright." I answer. "We'll have to get you his overnight stuff, but thanks."

Stephanie smiles. "Of course."

"I'm gonna go get him from Renee." Randy goes to leave.

"The baby is with Colby." I tell Randy.

"Okay. I'll go get him from Colby." Randy exits guerilla.

"Speaking of celebrating, I think we should celebrate Randy's win tomorrow on Raw." I tell Paul and Stephanie. "I don't want him finding out until the show tomorrow, but I want you guys there."

Stephanie nods. "Absolutely. We'll be there. I'm glad we're working together now."

"Me too. Thanks again. I really appreciate it."
