Western AU. Cloud thinks that he found an easy way to make money - all he has to do is deliver supplies and kill some monsters from a nearby town, and get paid handsomely to do so. But things fall apart, and he finds himself sucked back into the high-stakes world of outlaws and old debts that need repaying. He had crawled out of it before... but he's not sure if he can do it again.

Cloud isn't the only one to fail SOLDIER after weeks of boot camp. (Though he is the smallest. And the youngest. And, you know, illegal.) Cloud does not doubt he would be the most hated man in the army, soon to be kicked out, no doubt, if it weren't for one single thing.  Chocobos. Cloud is good with chocobos.

Sephiroth doesn't often get fanmail... or any mail. ShinRa screens more or less every aspect of his life, after all. So when he receives a package, he's understandably curious. He opens it to find... a video game, of all things. Final Fantasy VII? What a useless waste of time... that Hojo would highly disapprove of... Hmm. Perhaps just this once...
