She had her hand on her War Hammer but saw Mai dive down a few feet away from her. The brunette stood up with a bright smile, happy to see the blonde.
"Rachel!" Mai happily yelled and ran up to hug the huntress.
Rachel embraced her friend with her own smile, feeling the legendary ninja's warmth. Mai pulled back to hold Rachel's face and plant a strong, loving kiss on Rachel's rosy lips. Rachel held Mai's wrists to enjoy the first kiss between herself and the Shiranui legend in so long.
"Mmmmph… Rachel… I've been waiting to see you again!" Mai said after pulling back to lean her head on Rachel's.

"Mai… I'm so glad to see you, too!" Rachel replied.
The huntress kissed Mai's forehead and they stared deep into each other's eyes.

"I never forgot our vacation together. And how much time we spent together. That photoshoot was the best way to finish it, and on Valentine's Day, too!" The fiend hunter said.

"I haven't stopped thinking about you, either. That was the most fun I've had since coming to Dead or Alive." The kunoichi replied.

To Rachel's surprise, it tasted really good. She didn't take Mai as the type to make anything well, but the Shiranui legend giggled covering her smiling mouth and eyes closed, playfully teasing Rachel about underestimating her.
The blonde and brunette talked and laughed as night fell, catching up. They were surprised to see so much time had already passed, but they were in heaven being in each other's company.
Rachel took another sip from her cup and stared at what little liquid there was inside with a nervous look. Mai noticed and expressed concern for her friend.
"Rachel, what's wrong?"
"Something… has been on my mind for a while." Rachel answered.
"My feelings to you… I thought they would go away after that vacation. I loved our time together back then, but I thought it would be a fleeting memory." The huntress said, putting her cup down.
"But the truth is… this lingering in my heart…" She said, putting a fist on her chest.
Mai leaned in a little, wanting to give every ounce of her attention to Rachel.
The blonde's hair hanged from her head close to her face as she looked down with closed eyes for a few, suspenseful moments. Rachel contemplated her next words carefully before looking at Mai with a happy expression.
"…I think I've fallen for you, Mai-chan." She said affectionately.
Mai was taken aback, covering her mouth in surprise with wide eyes at Rachel.
Rachel smiled and brushed her hair away from her beautiful face with her gloved hand.

She leaned closer over the table a little with a smirk.

Mai smiled at Rachel and reached up to her knot with her free hand, undoing it letting the white ribbon fall to the ground. The Shiranui legend shook her head from side to side closing her eyes, letting Rachel seeing her loose hair like before back at Zack Island.
Mai opened her eyes and smiled once more at Rachel. Rachel smiled back and used both hands to reach up to her tied hair and undo it. Mai wathed her new girlfriend carefully undo her hairstyle and saw it fall down to Rachel's shoulders and back. Rachel shakes her head a little and tidied it with her hands a little before looking at Mai again.
The women put their hands on the table at their respective sides and leaned closer to each other slowly over the furniture, as well as the single candle that had been at the center the whole time. It illuminated close to their respective chests as Rachel and Mai brushed their lips together with closed eyes and finally shared a loving kiss.
They hold it for a long minute and a half, taking time to taste the soft, delicious flesh of the other's lips before parting with a small smooch sound. Rachel got up to walk around to Mai, who stod up in response. They helped the other out of their kimono letting them fall to the ground to see the entirety of the other's attire. Rachel nodded slowly, "They see you as a good candidate for our team. Christie wanted you to join us."
"But, after how today has gone, and feeling this warmth inside…" The blonde said before dropping to her knees.
"…I can't. I can't ask you that." She said with her voice breaking.
"I know what could happen if you join our team… Christie will corrupt you. Make you into something that you're not just for her liking. It's happening to Tina, and I can't bear the thought of you going through the same change." Rachel said, holding back tears.
Mai got to her knees and close to Rachel, putting her hands on Rachel's shoulders.
"Rachel…" Mai said.
"Mai… You're too wonderful to be with us. Now…" Rachel said, taking Mai's hands again and looked her into her light brown eyes.
"I just want you to be with me."
Mai's eyes widened in shock.
"But… what about Christie?" She asked.
"I… still love her, too. But I won't let her hurt you. She's too dangerous." Rachel replied.
"She can never know about us. Mai, I'll die for you if I have to."
Mai gasped at Rachel's words. She was stunned to hear the fiend hunter's words and resolve.
"Rachel…" Was all she could say before hugging her blonde girlfriend.
"I love you so much."
Rachel returned the hug and held her fiery kunoichi.
"I love you, too Mai. I'll make something up when I get back. Besides, Christie loves me too much to get rid of me. We'll be safe, I promise."
Mai nodded and they pulled back for Rachel to hold Mai's beautiful face as Mai held her hands again. She stared at the brunette's beautiful features for a while longer before letting out some final words to restart their kiss.
