Well everyone. It's here. My most ambitious fanfic. (redone) It's not exactly easy to keep track of three different franchises, with their own shows and books to keep up with. But I won't waste anymore time. Here we go.
Life leads to an inevitable end...Death leads to a new beginning...Momento Mori...
Earth 2072...
In the pale moonlight, in the dark night, a tall building, surrounded by the neon city. A man in a white coat, blonde hair plus goatee, and yellow eye patch is running away, trying to get away from something. This person. This intruder. He's not human in his eyes. As he tries to look for a way out, he hears him coming. This intruder walks towards him, his shadow overtakes even his own body. The intimidation was almost unbearable as he aims his bright yellow blaster. "D-Don't come closer! What do you want?!"
The looming shadow then reveals a not so tall young man, barely even 20 years old approaches him. His features, blue short hair that barely covers his right eye, grey, almost silver eyes, and a dark blue jacket over a green t-shirt, and jeans. "Let's see...you are using weapons out of coils, and said coils look like they were illegally remodeled, using electric power illegally as well, yeah I have plenty to list down."
The scared man grips his weapon. "Are you with the police?!"
The young man scoffs. "Tch...Do I look like the police to you?"
"T-Then...you are...?!" This man begins to realize something.
"That's right..." The young intruder lets out a small smirk. "...I'm a collector. And I'm here to collect..." In a panic, the frightened one fires. But little did he know, the collector's senses allowed him to react faster than the bullet as everything slowed down around him. He walks casually through this slowed down time until he reaches the bullet, and then moves around it and quickly dashes forward, ready to strike.
Just then a pair of gray eyes open up, seeing a ceiling. Realizing it was mere memories. Memories of one night. He wasn't sure which one. They were recently blurring together. Letting out a sigh, he sits up on his bed and lets out a yawn. After some stretches, he eventually made himself toast and drank some orange juice. During this, he turns on his plasma screen television to see a documentary of the history of geniuses, one in particular Tomas Edison.
"Along with Nikola Tesla, famous for his contributions regarding the alternating currents that makes the world go round, and radio transmission which connects people around the world. The dreams of these geniuses while they were alive continue even after their deaths." Minato watches with passive interest as he munches on his toast. 100 years have passed and other inventors have made further enhancements, and created a revolutionary invention, known as coils. Upon hearing this, Minato drinks his orange juice and lets out a sigh as he makes his leave and lets the TV keep playing as he goes to his bedroom to switch out of his white t-shirt and loose pajama bottoms.
"The said revolutionary invention was developed in the year 2036. From X, Y, and Z, W was uncovered. From where we can extract an unlimited supply of energy. The founder of the New Tesla Energy federation, Shido Yurizaki would discover a way to connect the dimension into these devices call coils through a tower that powers a whole city. Around the world, 60 towers are made to grant every area everywhere this unlimited source of power. This phenomenon is referred to now as the World System. Reliance over electricity for power is now a thing of the past." Minato gets off of his room, now in his dark blue jeans and green t-shirt. In the TV, there was a middle aged man in black well cut combed hair and beard in a podium making a speech. "Mankind has finally obtained what it was searching for so long! A limitless supply of power!" Suddenly the TV turns off as he opens the door and closes the door.
Time passes and the blue haired youth gets a poof of smoke hit his face. He stands up to see his motorcycle still not working properly. He was never much of a technician. Although he's living on his own, so he doesn't have the luxury of some help. He tries to remember the lessons given to him to handle his bike. Although doing so is a puzzle in on itself at the moment. Looking around on an old gas station he used as his home. Seeing how gas was all but irrelevant nowadays. Now people use coil powered cars. Something he is not comfortable with, seeing how coils can also scan peoples location. One thing he doesn't need on his conscious.
"And in other news, the World System is reaching its 10 year anniversary of service. Professor Shido Yurizaki, the developer of coils, and former CEO of New Tesla Energy is still missing. Due to his disappearance two years ago, it is widely accepted that the professor is most likely deceased." Minato hears all of it in his phone until it begins to vibrate. Knowing who this is, he answers the call.
"Hello?" The young man said with an apathetically cold tone.
"Still talking to me on that bad tone?" A lady older than him is heard. Very much cold on its own right as well.
"I done your job last night." The young man replies.
"Ah, that's good to hear. I have no interest in illegal remodeling of coils, but I am interested on your skills boy." He could tell she is smirking judging by her tone. "I have another request for you. Meet up with me tonight."
"Wait what tim-" She hangs up. The young man lets out a big sigh. "Right..." He would turn back to his motorcycle, mentally noting to handle it some other time. He takes his dark blue jacket and walks out towards the city, but not before he notices some kids hiding behind bushes near his gas station. They glare at him nervously, as the young man in dark blue glares at them back, with little emotion they could understand or make heads or tails over. Like staring at an abyss. Eventually the kids runs away in fear. "'sigh'...kids..." He continues his walk and then looks up to stare at a world run by coils.
Around this time, a young girl wearing a bright yellow poncho hiding most of her body is seen standing on top of a boat, waiting patiently for her destination. He face does reveal green hair, and green eyes. Her bare hands having markings resembling the power button and small lines through the top of her fingers. She's also holding a bag on her hands. "You sure you want me to drop you off here?" A man past his middle age asks. He has a robotic right arm on him.
"That'll do. Thank you." The girl said politely.
The old man wave to her with a smile. "Like I said earlier, if you need my help, I'm at your service." The girl hops to land as she waves back. "Take care. And send your father my regards." He drives his boat off, leaving the girl to turn to the dark alleyways. Despite the looming buildings that cast the darkest shadows, the large tower that powers the whole city can be seen on the background. No matter what, the large shape of unlimited energy towers the whole city.
The girl eventually enters a small apartment, entering one room where one old man with shaggy white hair and beard. "I'm back Father." She said happily, but also quietly so she doesn't disturb her ill father.
Said father turns his head to see the girl. "Mira...where have you been?"
"I walked around a bit, then brought some medicine and things we need." She responds.
The elder man was breathing heavily, almost at the brink of either death or slumber. "Did something happened...?"
Mira lets out her best smile. "Nothing bad happened. I did meet that nice man you helped out."
He lets out a sigh. "That's good..."
The girl places her hand on his. "Just take it easy and rest." She tries to comfort him as much as she could.
The man would sigh. "I'm only a weak, selfish old man Mira...don't waste your life away on my account..." Mira frowns hearing this. She can't stand seeing her father like this, and saying this stuff. She loves him so much, and would do anything to save him from his agonizing state of despair. As his daughter, its her own unsaid promise.
Hours pass, the mysterious collector is found in a manga shop, reading a book on the mature isle. One involving a group of assassins taking on a corrupt Empire. With disgust he puts it back. "What a piece of shit..." He takes his leave and passes through the large bustling city of Central 41 in the middle of dusk. Named after the tower was made. Without hesitation, he puts on his own new earphones to drown out the loud and busy city through his rock music with his phone. He stops when he sees a cafe with neon lights spelling out, Mary's. He goes inside to see a robot battle going on in a small arena. Two short round shape robots battle each other brutally for the amusement of the customers in the cafe. One resemble a bull, and the other with a skull paint job. He takes a small glance on the fight, seeing that the bull would win, unscrewing the others coil, securing a win to the customers cheers. Minato continues upward the stairs to the higher level of the building.
He then sees a beaten down man with his robotic legs smashed. The collector looks up to see a young feminine looking boy with a butler suit and a short bob hair cut. He appears to be done with beating a man up as he wipes her hands with a towel. He then bows to the young man. "Hey Four." Passively greeting the mute butler who happens to be a robot. He enters the room showing what looks like a huge screen with a room sized aquarium behind it, with many sharks swimming around with coils attached to their heads. And in her chair watching the scenery is a large woman in sky blue hair and a flashy red dress.
"You're early. Have a seat." With a snap of her fingers, another seat appears for the young man to sit. Her large screen then shows a skinny man and a obese man. "This is your next job. Johnny and Every, the Won Brothers. They've been using Shadow Town as their base of operations. I have intel that these guys were gathering Illegal Coils. Your job is to collect them."
"Do you know how they got it or what is their motives?" The young man asks.
The lady gives her response. "We don't know who they are or their motivation. However, they could leave to another location before we can have proper information on them."
His grey eyes looks at the images of the two, scanning, accessing, and memorizing them thoroughly. Eventually he stands back up to leave. "Then I'm taking it. I'm expecting a tiny boost compared to last time."
"Pretty bold of you." She carries her cup of wine as she talks. "Despite that, you're quite a blank slate. You're still that young lost boy that I found on the street."
"Tch..." The young man sneers at the comment. "I'm 19 you know. I rather be treated as such." The young collector states with slight irritation in his tone. He takes his leave.
"You might need a car to your destination." Mary adds on.
"I can walk." The collector said as he goes down the stairs. "Won't take long with how early I am."
Mary smirks. "Man or boy, I'm still expecting big things from you, Minato Arisato."
The one called Minato Arisato looks up to the city again. It's grand design of human ingenuity. Despite that, he never felt like he belonged. These coils. The reliance over machines as the large tower on the background overshadows the neon city. "Right..." He then walks up to a building and grabs something out of his jacket. It's a gun like device. He shoots it to the roof and fires a hook that grabs the ledge of the building and zips on top of it. He gets a better look at the large tower, more higher than before, but still not as high as the tower. He goes on ahead and shoots his grappling gun and moves to another building.
Back in the rundown apartment, Mira turns on the knobs of her sink, only to get blobs of sewage. Despite expecting water, she couldn't help but giggle at the sounds. She walks to a dark room, with a bed-ridden old man at the side. "I'll go get some potable water." She cheerfully exits the home, leaving her sick father alone as he looks on to see a photo of his younger self, being head of New Telsa Energy. Then the photo of him and a wife and daughter.
Mira leaves the small pharmacy store with a bag of water bottles and then notices a warehouse. She takes a good look at it, her pupils beginning to circulate lines as she looks inside the contents of the warehouse. She see's people carrying coils. But not normal coils. Against her better judgement, she sneaks inside, where a meeting is placed by a gang. "I have 'em! Illegal Coils!" The skinny man shows off a case filled with small coil. During this Mira sneaks her way behind their door, seeing the Illegal Coils he is bragging about.
"Are they real?!" "I can't believe you got them!" Said gang are all sitting on couches as they exclaim their surprise to see their leader having something as rare and powerful as what is on his hands. A box full of coils that are crossed with an X. Showing that they were augmented.
The skinny gang leader with black spiky hair known as Johnny Won places one of the coils to a water gun. He then points the water gun and spooks the whole gang. "What do ya think? With this kind of power, even a water gun will pack a punch!" Demonstrating, he shoots at the rooms water cooler, making it explode with a loud POP!
Mira was startled by the loud noise as she almost fell. She tries to leave until she gets hit by a large belly of one of the gang members. She falls over and gets cornered. The large, obese bald man smiles maniacally and steps on a cord coming out of her hooded jacket. Suddenly, she felt her consciousness slipping, thinking about her father. The glutton grabs the unconscious girl and opens the door that Mira was peeking in. "Yo Big Bro!"
"Every! You're late!" Johnny shouts at this 'little' brother with an annoyed tone. He notices the yellow dressed girl on his shoulder. "And what the hell are you carrying?!" Every then throws the unconscious Mira to their couch. "A girl?"
"I saw her at the hallway." Every explains.
"The hallway? A spy from the south district?" The gang surround the girl. "What are you going to do with her?"
"I found her, so she's mine!" Every lets out his tongue, lustfully wanting to have fun with her body. He was about to touch her...
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." A voice catches the gangs attention.
"Huh? Who's there?!" The 'big' brother yells out.
They look up to their ceiling, only to see a dark blue young man in dark shades of clothing, draped in black due to the shadows surrounding him, silver glowing eyes being the only shining part of his silhouette. "You must be Johnny Won. I heard you've been keeping some Illegal Coils. I'm here to collect them." His face slowly reveals himself as the lights touches it. The gang looks in disbelief as he jumps down to their level. "And you should give them to me if you have any brain cells left on you."
"Oh yeah? Bring it on you bastard!" He stands up, with his make shift weapon in hand.
Minato then laid his eyes on the water gun Johnny is holding. "You do realize that your threatening me with a water gun right?" His tone shows a hint of mockery, still as cold as ice like always.
"Hehehe! Mock me while you can! He shoots, and he shoots a bullet fast squirt of water, faster than human comprehension. But in Minato's point of view, its only slightly faster than bullets he's used to. So he slowly walks out of the way as he aims his gatling gun, shoots past Johnny and grabs the broken water cooler. With a big pull, the cooler hits Johnny on the back of the head, knocking him on the ground. To the surprise of the gang, their leader is down in a matter of a literal second. "WHAT?! How did he?!"
"Of course...wasting my breath you guys." Minato then brings out a sword that was hidden under his jacket. "...no heart. No soul. You guys rely too much on your little toys than yourselves...your not even in my level."
Johnny gets up, bleeding on his head and livid, yells out, "GET 'IM!" Minato finds himself surrounded by the gang members, bringing out their own swords.
Seeing all these swords, drives Minato let out a small smile. "This is more like it!"
Mira then wakes up, overhearing the fight going on. She only see the glimpses of the gang being defeated one by one. "Where am I?" Then she see's Minato in battle, with a blank expression, but she notices a small smile in his face. His movements are harsh, yet graceful. Like a deadly dance in her delirious vision. "Is that...a human? How did I got myself into this mess?"
Minato knocks Every down as he stands victorious with a pile of bodies around him. "Hmph...what did I expect...?" He scans the area to find out that Johnny was missing.
He hears someone shrieking as he turns around to see that Johnny is holding Mira in a hostage position. "Take one step, and I'll blow her eyes out of her socket!" The gun is dangerously close to her fearful eyes.
Minato stands tall, relaxing himself, not threatened. "There you go, trying to act tough. But you still amount to nothing for relying on leverage to get what you want. Its pathetic."
Johnny gets even more angry. "I'm serious! I'll really do it!"
"Then why haven't you?" That question drove Johnny mad. He can see only but little emotions on Minato's face. His tone is just as mocking as it was before. Perhaps more so. "Well...? I'm waiting..."
Little did both Johnny and Mira know, he is gripping on his hilt, slowly leaning, ready to strike when he is at his most historical. "Grrrrrgh! Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! Damndamndamndamndamndamn!"
Mira glares at the dangerous water gun, almost making contact with her eye. She tries to hold herself back, trying to remember her father's teachings. She mustn't get involved. This man is not gonna help isn't he? She is unable to see his form, but she did heard his words. Eventually her fear slowly turned sorrow. He hood gets removed, revealing moving metallic wing like antenna on her head. "Father...
"DAMN IT AAAA-huh?!" Johnny felt someone grab the couch and he gets flung to the air.
"I'm sorry!" Then she grabs Johnny, along with the couch they were sitting on and throws him both casually over the baffled Minato and lands across the room with a loud CRASH! "I couldn't obey your orders." Mira said with sadness and guilt. Her whole face now revealing her green hair, purple bangs, antenna that works as sensors. Wearing a black tank top, underneath a pale yellow dress with purple on the chest area and a symbol of the power button like on her hands. Plus white long boots, and pink shorts under her dress.
Johnny was half conscious. "Hey...did you know she was a robot this whole time...?" He weakly asked.
"...Apparently not.." Minato couldn't help but respond his own bafflement on this situation. He was planning to do a daring rescue while Johnny was acting crazy, but he didn't count on Mira to throw him and the entire couch without much effort. But then he notice her approaching him. He notices that her goggle shaped wings now that he has a good look on her. What also got his attention is that there's a cord coming out of her bottom area, like a tail. Plus tears coming out of her eyes with an angry look. The tears begin to surprise him. She is confirmed to be a robot, and yet...they are supposed to be nothing but tools in this world. And yet...these tears...it feels...familiar. "Um...Are you alrigh-"
"You low life jerk!" Mira then smacks Minato. Knocking him out. Instantly...everything goes black.
Minato slowly opens his eyes, he could barely make out what he is seeing. "Huh?...Wha?" He could see a blonde girl over him She seems to be wearing headphones, old fashion ones at that. He could see her talking about something, but could barely hear her. "Who's...Who is this?...Who are you?" He could now see her crying. "Why...are you crying?" He tries to reach her face, and wipe it. Something about her, feels nostalgic. Then he could hear faint voices in the horizon, he could now hear the girl perfectly now.
"Thank you, for everything..."
"Huh?"
"You must be tired..."
"What?"
"Please get some rest...I'll stay right here with you..." He could hear footsteps coming closer. "Soon all of your friends will be here by your side."
His vision becomes whitish blurry. "Wait...who are you? I..."
"Don't worry...I will always be by your side...protecting you..." The girl completely disappears.
"Wait!" The last thing he sees is pink camellias floating all over Minato and a glowing blue butterfly. Then it slowly fades away into black mist.
"Arisato! Arisato!"
Minato slowly opens his eyes and see's a blonde man with a white uniform. "ugh...Albert...Schumen...? ugh...great..." He realizes that he's laying on the ground, he was knocked out cold by that girls slap. It still hurts very much. Like a truck just hit him hard. That girl is super strong. Then again, she is a robot. Although what is right in front of him is something he likes even less.
The man named Albert Schuman helps Minato up, much to the young mans annoyance and reluctance. "Looks like you bit off more than you can chew this time around. Just what kind of monster did this?" He looks around, seeing the damaged room being investigated by armored men in pale tan.
Minato holds his head in pain. "None of your business...I had the situation under control...but what are those guys doing here." Noticing the men on the room. He then turns to see a van outside, with letters saying D.A.B. The Dimension Administration Bureau. His eye twitched a little, seeing them.
Albert walks in to stand next to him, seeing the armored men arresting the remaining gang through the broken windows caused by the recent fight. "Well, in case you didn't knew, I was promoted to head investigator. You'll be seeing more of me from now on."
"Good for you." Minato said sarcastically. He really does not like being around this high and mighty man. "But, what is the D.A.B doing here? I didn't think a big organization checking on a small crime scene." Minato asks the head investigator.
"That is classified. Although if you work for me, then it would be a different story." He said in a slightly insisting tone.
"I'll pass, thank you." Minato said as he walks away and goes to grab his sword he dropped after being knocked out.
"Rejected again. Still trying to be your own man, huh?" Albert then grabs the water gun Johnny was using and takes off the illegal coil attached to it. "By the way, I will be confiscating this. Everything in this room is now property of Dimension Administration Bureau."
Minato sheathes back his sword on his scab tied around his back. He turns his head to glare at him. Eventually he just turns back to walk away. Not saying anything. "And please don't tell Mary I was the one who took off with the coil." Again, no response.
One of the armored men approaches the smiling Albert. "You sure we can trust this collector?"
Albert continues to smile. "Its fine. You weren't around during that time, but I was the one who trained him."
"Are you serious?!" The armored man asks in skepticism.
He takes pride on that fact. "That's right. I know him better than anyone. He has been living in his own world for awhile now. But soon enough, I will make him mine once again. Albert says with a smirk. "For now, I'll let him gain his own experience."
Just outside the crime scene, Minato calls Mary on the mission. "Stop messing around!" Mary shouts through Minato's phone speakers. Minato winced at his bosses loud tone. "Information is not free you know!"
"Hey now, once the D.A.B gets involved, there's nothing I can do, alright?" Minato said, defending his failure. It's not a good feeling to fall short and have to deal with Mary's wrath.
"D.A.B?" Minato's head then starts to ache. "Why would they get involved in this?"
"Who knows..." Minato then remembered that moment when Mira's eyes had tears This got him thinking. "Hey uh...Mary?"
"What?"
"Have you seen any robots that can shed tears?"
"That was random. Why would you ask that out of the blue?" The young collector was silent, unsure how to bring it up. He always had a complicated relationship with robots. They look so life-like. It all seems like there could be some humanity in them. Not that Minato see's much humanity in most humans he knows personally. Albert and his men being an example. Just looking at him brings his mood down.
As he was in deep thought, Mary would speak up. "Listen, robots these days look pretty indistinguishable to us humans. That's why there are laws for them to have artificial looking parts to them to make them different enough. Such as Four with her exposed coil. Yet you tend to greet her whenever you like." Minato slouches at this. He tends to do that whenever he enters Mary's room, much to his embarrassment. "Just try to keep in mind that there are many creators out there that puts all kinds of random functions on robots. Tears isn't out of the question at this point."
Minato sighs to him. "Right...I will." Eventually Minato hangs up and made his way up on the rooftops, staring across the city, with the wind blowing through his hair. He hardened himself for this kind of job, knowing his paycheck and livelihood is on the line. Nor human or robot should deter his resolve for this job. Yet...this girl...he can't stop thinking about her. Calling him a big jerk before slapping him, noticing tears coming out of her eyes. "Just who is she?" Then begins to remember something. Right before he was knocked completely unconscious. He recalls falling over, and see's the green haired robot running to the other side of the room and kneels to grab the rest of the crossed coils. "Wait, did she-?!" In a panic, he runs towards the other side of the rooftop and scans the horizon. He looks at the same warehouse that he went and looks around. Then he see's a something moving in one of the roofs. "There you are!" He brings out his gatling gun and swings through the buildings.
Mira hides in the corner spying on two armored men. "There's no dimension specific reaction from any coils." "Widen the search from one block ahead."
Mira hears the conversation. "I am disobeying Father's instructions again...But this isn't the time to be acting like a human." She regretfully says. "As long as I have this, I'm sure Father's heart will..." Thinking about the idea of helping her ill-father makes her even more determined to leave the area. "Please wait, Father!" She jumps towards the sky, holding the case holding the illegal coils tightly. Her only hope in saving her father.
Back at the broken down home, Mira's Father stares through his window, griping his glowing chest. "You've finally sniffed this place out, have you?" He turns his head to stare upon a large contraption that is glowing green. "I just need a little more time...now that it has come to this..."
Mira runs through the rooftops, hurrying herself to pass these coils to her father. "Hey!" Mira hears a familiar voice and turns to see the same boy she knocked out form earlier. "I knew you would still be around the area." He stands on top of the high ground of the building they stand on.
"You're from earlier!" Mira couldn't believe this boy recovered that fast. Or how he caught up to her. Her eyes scan through his body, yet there are no coil enhancements in him.
"Yeah, we met. I believe you have something that I was looking for before you knocked me out." Minato's tone is cold as his stare. "Now don't think you can guilt trip your way out of this. I don't know why you want these coils, but I need them. Most likely more than you. So how about you hand them over? You seem to have enough common sense to see that I mean business, robot or not.
His lack of emotions she saw out of him seems to be now replaced with a sudden hint of anger. Despite the fear inside, she grips her coils. She won't give them up, knowing her father is at stake. "I'm sorry for hitting you, but I cannot give these to you!" Mira leaps out of the rooftop and wall jumps to another building.
"Oh no you don't!" Minato follows suit and wall jumps on the same wall Mira did. He knows using the gatling gun will take time to shoot and recoil. In that case, he'll follow her lead.
Mira turns around to see Minato surprisingly following her. "Huh?!" Mira lands on another rooftop and leaps towards another building. She turns her head to see Minato still following her. "There's no way! No human can keep up to me that easily! And with no coils on him?! Who is he?!"
Albert with two armored men look and a run down apartment that seems to be out of service for a long time. "You sure this is the place?"
"Its the only building in this area to deploy a sophisticated anti-scanning field."
"Have you evacuated the area?"
"Yes sir!"
"Okay, we'll secure the professor and his research without harming him." Then Albert noticed activity in the building. "Huh?" An ill man opens the window, revealing himself. "Is that...?"
"There is a 96% match, he's the real deal sir!"
Albert grabs a microphone. "Dr. Yurizaki, we at the New Telsa Energy would like to reconcile with you."
Yurizaki angrily responds to the men outside. "Reconcile? After what happened to my family?! On that day two years ago. You bastards broke into my home to steal my wife's research and then you killed her and my daughter! THE BUERU TOOK EVERYTHING FROM ME!" He shouted in pure rage.
Albert continues to stay calm though, trying to assure this aging old man. "The previous director misunderstood the boards orders, that is all. It hasn't been public, but the previous director had been punished for it. We all admitted that we did something wrong. You need to calm yourself Doctor."
"...Its too late...I have an obligation...as the one who created the world system...Even if it will cost me my life...it must be done..." The aged man feels his life slipping, yet he doesn't give in, as Yurizaki then holds up a large coil in his hand.
"What coil is that?" Albert still trying to act calm.
Yurizaki raises the large coil to the sky, with anger still in his heart. "...This...is my answer..."
Miles away, Mira stops on her tracks, sensing something happening back home. "Father?"
Minato then lands in front of her. "Now, give me those coils if you want to make this easy for yourself."
Mira grits in frustration. He just won't leave her alone. "Please don't follow me!" She attempts to jump away, until Minato grabs her tail-like cord. "HEP!" She drops on her face and cringes in pain. "L-Let...m-me...g-g-go!"
"So that's your weakness." Minato said to himself, as he leaps on top of Mira and brings out his sword and places it on her throat. "You shouldn't have gotten in my way."
Mira struggles to get Minato off of her, but she can't respond thanks to Minato grab her most fragile part, her cord. "I must...I must go quickly...or Father will..."
"I said none of your guilt tripping will work on me. I have an important mission to do, and I attend to complete it." Minato tries to focus on caring for himself than the one in his way for his next paycheck. She is a robot, so she could be using tears to emotionally stun him. He puts aside his emotions to do what needs to be done. "Who is your Father anyways? Your creator? or are you lying?"
"I'm not lying!" Mira shouted as tears are forming on her eyes.
Minato then flinches. "Uh!" Then he gets a flash of the blonde girl in his dream. "What...? Tears again? I thought I told you..." As much as he tries to not care for her tears, he can't stop thinking about that blonde girl. But then something starts flashing green light miles away, but it was pretty bright, even from their location. "What the?!" The light is shining the whole city block.
Mira realizes what this is, and fearfully shouts. "No! Father! You can't! If you do that you'll-!" She tries to stop this, but she is utterly helpless. All she can do is beg and hope her father can listen. But it's too late. It's already begun.
The source of the green light is coming from Dr. Yurizaki holding up the large coil. The green energy then starts to overload the smaller coils Albert and his men are using. "Men! Abandon your equipment and retreat!" Before he could leave though, Albert fearfully looks at Dr. Yurizaki, one last time. "Doctor, what in the world are you doing?" Albert says with fear in his tone.
Yurizaki looks upon the fearful Albert with his chest burning up. "THIS...IS ONLY THE BEGINNING!" He shout echoed across the whole area, as if a final declaration of things to come. Eventually, the light turns into darkness as a small black hole is created, sucking the former professor and the whole building he was in.
The green hot light then shined through out the entire city. "Dah!" Minato drops down his burning phone, as its coil begins to catch fire and vibrate violently. "What the hell is going on?"
He turns to see Mira vibrating violently, like a seizure. "Guuuuushfnujernjhdgbjhdfbwiewiunakagh!" Screaming out with a distorted voice, and the coil inside her chest burning. Feeling agonizing pain as her consciousness slips. She could barely hear a faint, yet familiar voice.
"I leave the rest to you now..."
"N-No..."
"Mira..."
"Father..."
The black hole builds up more and more until it vanishes. Then out come out a huge BOOM! An explosion of energy blows the area away, and turning off all the power of the whole city. The ground Albert was standing in begins to erupt. blowing him away into the white void. The building Yurizaki was in imploded. Then a giant surge of energy that decimates the entire block, then it makes its way towards Minato's head. "Huh?!" Then many images begin to rush inside Minato's head. "Ugh! What the?!" He could hear voices of many people from around the world, then he could hear a void of nothing, then all of the sudden he could hear someone shouting...
"PHYRAAAAAAAA!" Then a roar of an animal. "WHAT?!" Then another surge of energy and memories begin to surge through him. He could now hear someone yelling at the top of his lungs. "Idiot! Are you trying to get yourself killed?!" "No! I've made a promise! A promise I'm willingto keep!" "TATSUMIIIII!"
"STOP IIIIIIIIIIT!" Minato had enough and screams out. A sudden burst of blue energy comes out of Minato, as all the energy leaves his head and he kneels down in exhaustion. Panting uncontrollably. "what...just..." He stands up to see that the green energy disappeared. The young collector walks over to see the Illegal Coils Mira took was all but completely fried. He turns to see the whole city block destroyed and the rest of the city going through a blackout. The only light being the sun rising. He looks down to see Mira not moving. Her eyes are blank, but her face is expressed with sorrow.
"Was she trying to prevent that?" He has no idea what's going on, but he can't help but feel this destruction could have been prevented if he let her go. Would it help? He has no idea. Minato walks past the broken coils and carries Mira by his shoulders. "Well...can't go back to Mary empty handed...and it would be better if Albert didn't have you." As the sun rises to a now dark city, Minato carries Mira back to Mary's Cafe. "I'm gonna need some answers anyways." Just as he walks back though, a burly shape of a man with slightly spiked up hair appears behind him, observing him.
Back in Mary's Cafe, Minato is in a lab with Mary standing next to him. "Jeez, I told you to get me some coils, and this is what you get me?" Insect like nanobots crawl all over the immobile Mira who is stripped to nothing but her pink bra and tight shorts. Mary looks onto the new guest Minato brought in. She turns to a small, skinny, dark skinned young man, working some computers. In shaggy purple hair and a chipped tooth. "Did you figured something out Koorogi?" Named after a cricket.
He smirks "Well Minato, all I can say is, I'm shocked.
Minato raises his eye brow. "What do you mean?"
"Shocked that you think that this magnificent specimen is property of an ordinary collector? How dumb can you be?" Koorogi lets out his honest opinions.
The collector scowled in response. "Tch..."
Koorogi jumps out of his computers, and lands along side Minato and Mary. "First of all, someone in the penny pinching business of collecting can't buy or make something this sophisticated. It would cost as much, if not more than a man made satellite. The basic construction of the body is the same as Four over there" Noting the small butler in the room with them. "But underneath the artificial skin are many layers of subtle silicon foam, and high polymer artificial muscles on the skeletal frame, filled with nano machines for self repair. The coil in her chest controls all the actuators with a wireless local network. All these types of maintenance free robots were copies of the original. They usually contain traces compromise or streamlining. But this beauty doesn't have any of that. Its so complete its annoying."
"Who do you think made her?" Minato asks.
"As far as I know, the only person who could make something like this is Dr. Yurizaki."The cricket of Mary's Cafe takes his guess.
Minato hadn't heard much of the Doctor. But judging from Mira's design, he could tell that he must have been a genius. "Now that you mention it..." He recalls how emotional she was in their encounters. "...I can see that. She is possibly the closest to a human any artificial robot can be he has seen. But just saying that has him remember that blonde girl again. He wonders why does she keep on appearing in his head.
"And click." Koorogi pushes Mira's coil in her chest. Mary shows concern over turning something as advanced as this on her station, but Koogari assures her that it won't give New Tesla information if they use an official coil, although Minato is more focused on Mira herself, unsure what she'll do if she sees him.
Mira's systems begin to boot up. She sits up and opens her eyes. The first thing she sees is Minato. He stands there nervous, unsure what she would say or do to him considering their last encounter. She sits there, loading all her memories. "Uh...Are you alright?" Then she gains consciousness, immediately looking around her surroundings. She see's herself wearing nothing but her underwear, along with round gauntlets. Making it worse that many little insectoid robots are crawling around her.
"YAAAAH!" She shrieks and smacks Minato instinctively. "What's happening?! Where did my clothes go?!" Mira then see's Minato again with her memories in tact. "Oh woops..." Realizing she just slapped someone without thinking.
Minato rubs his face in pain. "I really wish you would stop doing that..."
"Oh its you.' Mira remembers him. "What's going on?"
Minato sneers. "I brought you to my boss instead of leaving you shut down, thank you very much." He sarcastically said, reminding her she would be nothing but broken parts in the middle of nowhere.
"You're really rude, you know that?! Mira keeps on looking at her own body in embarrassment and hugs herself to cover herself in vain. "And another thing, can you please get my clothes?"
"A pretty modest robot huh?" Minato focuses on her exposed body and turns away, blushing. "Never...seen that before..."
"H-Hey, were you staring at me?!" The robot girl said in shock.
Mary sees this unfold and is pretty surprised in this display. "You weren't kidding! This is an incredible machine! Makes you wonder if there really is a real person insdie there." Mary says in fascination.
"If you want, I can open up the head and check it out. Koorogi types in the holographic computer with his goggles attached to his own hat on. His screen shows a visual of a metallic brain, similar to a human brain, but its smooth with glowing lines all over. "Although I can't make any sense out of these protocols. Between that and the organic structure, I probably couldn't put it back to the way we found it." He finishes as he moves his googles back up. "Honestly, the only easier way to figure her out is ask the one who made her." He chuckles.
Mira overhears Koorogi. "Huh!"
"Dr. Yurizaki? That I would like to do." Mary replies to Koorogi. Minato recalls Mira saying father multiple times. There is no mistaken that it must be him.
After some silence, the girl decides to speak up. "Please I beg you..." Mira slowly gets off the platform she was in, and kneels down in front of everyone. They wonder what she's going to say. "Please...let me help you collect illegal coils!" She bows, accepting her new life without her father. Whatever it holds for her, she has to find out directly. Minato doesn't know what to make of Mira's behavior, or her declaration. This girl truly is a mystery to him. He has a feeling that this is only the beginning of something big in his life. Whether its for good or bad, he has to figure out directly.
Darkness. Pure silent darkness. Eventually noise can be heard. "...jaune...jaune...!" The noise begins to grow louder and louder. Something is beginning to build up and release. "jjjjjjjjJauneeeeee!" Then a pair of silver eyes opens in a fright. She looks to see the night sky.
"Huh?" A girl with a black dress, red hood, and silver eyes wakes up on the ground in the middle of an alleyway. It felt strange. She wondered what was going on. "Uh...what...happened...where am I?" She notices something. A light. A city, but in her eyes, it's something seemingly much more. She walks towards, it needing answers for her circumstances. Only to trip on something and fall on her face. "Oww..." She looks to see a red rectangular contraption that she tripped over. "Huh..." She grabs it and looks around it. "What's this?" For some reason, it feels familiar to her. But her mind feels like its blocking something important she should remember. She notices a button on it, and presses it. All of the sudden, it begins changing shape. "Huh?!" As it falls to the ground, it is not a machinal scythe. "How did...wha..." She is unsure what to say. This thing was a weapon. A pretty cool on she admitted. The girl would look carefully, finding something a lot more familiar about it. But she just can't remember. "Huh?" She then hears someone approaching.
A mysterious figure in a gold mask descends down from the roof, seemingly running from something or someone. His green reptilian notices her own silver eyes. He could tell there is something different about her. He walks up to the confused and scared red hooded girl. Then to the weapon on the ground. "Did you made that?" He takes his guess. He sees an inventor when he sees it, judging from her firm and strong hands.
"Um...well..." She is unsure what to say.
"Are you lost child? Have the coils brought you here?" The golden mask then asks.
The lost girl was unsure what to say, only able to ask back. "Who are you?"
The masked man could tell she couldn't trust him just yet. "I would like to know your identity first." Sticking to his question.
The hooded girl thinks long and hard. But finds nothing. "Uh...Well...I'm...um...I...can't...remember..." Fully realizing her situation, she promptly freaks out. "I don't know who I am! What am I going to do?! Oh man, what am I going to do?!"
He can totally see her desperation and feels pity. "Calm yourself child. I am here to help. If you have nowhere to go, then perhaps I can help you. I can tell there is something about you that's different from the others I met. A simple soul I believe..." The man brings out his golden sharp hands to the girl, as she hesitates at first, but with nowhere else to go, she complies, riding in an uncertain fate in an unforeseen new world. All she can do is trust. Her first instinct for someone to help her...is trust.
