A violent swirl of emotions raced through the blonde's head in only a few moments, violently swinging between the exhaustion and fatigue that was dreadfully setting in, and the tight knot of worry she felt in her gut over her partner's well being. The sheer amount of grimm and white fang she had to punch her way through was absurd, and she had been running basically the entire time, especially after Weiss pointed her in the direction of her faunus partner, only driving her to worry more.

Those feelings of exhaustion and worry were only confirmed as her thoughts were sliced in two, only for fear and anxiety to pour into that empty void like a dark ocean, caused by the shrill shriek of pain from a familiar voice that pierced into her mind… "Blake."

Her lilac eyes went wide, it felt like liquid fear coursed through her veins as she watched that bloody blade get pulled from her partner's side. "No.. No No NO!"

Her fear boiled into a seething anger, her eyes hardening on the sight of that man. She felt the familiar warmth of the flames licking at her locks, not only her body heating up, but her temper as well. She knew her eyes had gone red, her semblance basically activating itself, but she had not a single care in the world as she let her livid feelings take over.

It was like her body was possessed, she barely even processed that she was in the air, the ringing of her weapon's shot reaching her ears and lifting her being the only anchor she had to reality as she screamed at the top of her lungs. She was never violent to the point of killing, but this burning feeling inside her, like a flame consuming a never ending stack of fuel, was probably the closest she had ever been as she charged, ready to pound her friend's attacker into nothing.

It all happened in an instant, Yang had always been a good fighter, she was no stranger to losing, but she always felt she at least knew why she lost, she was smarter than she looked, and could normally analyze a combat and at least think of ways to improve. Pyrrha had kicked her ass enough times in sparring for her to know a gap in her own strength vs an opponent's. Yet here, in a literal instant, she couldn't even tell what happened. Nothing but a blink, followed by a red flash, and a sudden dull, echoing pain that spiderwebbed up her arm and into her shoulder. Followed quickly by that soul sucking exhaustion of her aura breaking, fading away into nothing. Her senses started to dull like a used blade, the world growing blurry, and her head slowly filling with fog as she.. Fell? She only just realized she was still in the air, that's how fast she had been defeated.. how fast she failed to protect her friend. That realization thudded into her chest like a hammer swung at her, hurting almost as much as the physical pain she felt.

As her eyes slowly started to grow heavy, the only physical feeling in her body still being the haunting hollow pain coming from her arm, they searched frantically, finally landing on Blake's form, crumpled weakly on the floor beneath her, flames licking at the sides of the building around them. Waves of emotions and thoughts hit Yang at once, she desperately wanted nothing more than to protect and help her friend.. yet she failed. She knew she'd happily lay her life down for almost any of her companions. Ruby? Happily she'd die for her little sister, anything to protect her. Weiss? Of course, without question, they may not be best friends ever by any means, but Weiss was absolutely a dear friend and someone she'd lay her life down for part of her almost regretted not getting closer to Weiss. That was a hard thing to do, she knew the Ice Queen put up strong walls around her emotions, and here she was, trying to save Blake, someone she had grown incredibly close to, maybe even too close to, as her mind reeled over these desperate thoughts. Blake.. Her friend, her partner…

Yang could also feel a strange warmth swell up in her chest, her eyelids growing ever heavier as she could almost feel what little energy she had left being siphoned away into nothing, probably eaten by the burning flames around her. Yet, this feeling was different as she gazed at Blake, memories of their time together at Beacon flashed through her mind, each memory stinging her heart harder, the fear of what would happen soon settling like a violent storm cloud in her mind, that she would die, and Blake would too. She thought back to that time she shared her deepest secret and insecurity with Blake, how she urged the girl not to destroy herself, how Yang was terrified of being abandoned again. The feeling after she embraced her, and the swirling mix of butterflies in her gut as she invited Blake to the dance.

These feelings were hard for Yang to place, she suspected it at first, but chose to ignore them until this moment, but she knew they had been sparked back then. She more than just cared for Blake like a friend or partner... She realized that she had feelings for Blake, maybe even given enough time, loved Blake. The warmth of that realization was bitter, like a disgusting cough medicine in her stomach, her consciousness slowly fading further as what little feeling left in her body told her that she had hit the ground, the low thud reverberating through her bones as she rolled on the wood floor, the last thoughts in her mind lingering on her feelings for Blake, and her regrets that she'd never see Blake, her sister, or any of her other friends again.

Blake's eyes widened in abject horror, the searing pain of her open wound long forgotten to the pit of stone that dropped in her chest as she watched her partner's body thud mercilessly to the ground in front of her like a limp, discarded doll.

Her body moved almost on its own, she hardly even realized that she had thrown herself between Adam and Yang protectively. Though her brain was in a frantic fight or flight mode, adrenaline pumped through the faunus's body. She had one thing in her mind, repeating, chanting like a chorus. "I Have to get her out of here."

By the time she realized what had happened, she was already running down the destroyed streets of Vale, as fast as her legs could take her, Yang's arm slung around her shoulder. The more she ran the weaker she grew, her wound slowly starting to take its toll, adrenaline could only carry her so far, Blake realized she had already lost a lot of blood as her vision started growing hazy by the minute. Her ears and eyes desperately searched for anything, anyone, that could help her, her stride and steps growing slower and sloppier, she'd barely be able to walk normally on her own, much less as she tried to haul her friend with her to safety.

"Hey! Blake, over here!" She heard a distant voice, pumping a small but hopeful spark in the faunus.

Her ears perked on top of her head swiveling to determine direction, head and eyes sluggishly looking up to see a familiar blonde faunus waving her down, unable to keep a pained smile from her face as she laid eyes on him, realizing he was probably too far away to even realize just how rough of a state they were both in.

"I don't think I've ever been happier to see you, Sun." She thought to herself, desperately pushing her declining body to get to him.

She wasn't able to get far before Sun had already launched himself like a rocket to her, her ears picking up his shallow pants from the effort as he quickly offered her a shoulder to lean on. She felt the pressure on her back release as she assumed he took the limp blonde from her.

"Thank.. you, Sun" She painfully croaked to him in exhaustion, the effort of the words hardly being worth the effort.

He stared at both Blake and Yang in a mixture of dumbfounded fear and complete panic, eyes frantically darting between the sight of Blake's outfit, the white stained red with her blood, and Yang's.. Well.. lack, which was even nastier looking than Blake's injury, his tail reflexively wrapping around the faunus, as he did his best to support the unconscious blonde on his other shoulder.

"Whoa! Are you guys okay? Okay stupid question, what happened? Hang on, we'll get you guys taken care of!"

Sun's concerned and panicked assault of questions fell on her ears, but they sounded muffled to Blake, her vision began to blur as she felt herself lose control of her body.

She could feel herself begin to fall, the small parts of her consciousness bracing for the floor, only to feel herself stop before hitting, Sun having apparently caught her.

"Shit! Blake, just hold on alright? Neptune! I need you over here now man!"

His desperate yell for help being one of the last things she heard, as the throbbing pain from her side pulsed its way up her body one last time before she felt the cloudy haze claim her, the world growing dark as her mind was a whirlwind of terrified thoughts of Yang and Adam.
