Meeting Ilima
The next day at the Pokemon School, Lincoln goes to Professor Kukui and sees about getting a Trainer's Passport so he can do the Island Challenge. Professor Kukui arranged for Lincoln to come over to his lab after school so he can have one made.
Once school ended, Lincoln and Professor Kukui start to exit the school when they see Principal Oak talking to a male with tan skin, pink hair that hung just above his shoulders, wearing a cream-colored sweater vest that had a brown diamond pattern going around the bottom of it over a white shirt, and also white pants and shoes.
"Who's Principal Oak talking to?" asked Lincoln.
"I think that's IIima." said Professor Kukui. "He's a graduate of the Pokemon School."
"What's he doing here?" asked Lincoln.
"He likes to come around and advise other students from time to time." said Professor Kukui. "Along with doing that, he's one of the Trial Captains here in Alola."
"Trial Captains?" replied Lincoln.
"Yes." said Professor Kukui. "Trial Captains are trainers who supervise all Island Trials during the Island Challenge." Just then, Principal Oak notices Professor Kukui and Lincoln.
"Alola, you two." said Principal Oak.
"Alola, Principal Oak." said Professor Kukui as he walks over to him and Ilima with Lincoln following after him.
"What are you up to?" asked Principal Oak.
"I was going to have a Trainer Passport made for Lincoln here." said Professor Kukui as he gestures towards Lincoln. Principal Oak looks over at Lincoln and notices the Island Challenge Amulet around Lincoln's wrist.
"I see that you're going to do the Island Challenge, Lincoln." said Principal Oak. Lincoln looks at his Island Challenge Amulet with a smile.
"You bet." said Lincoln. Llima walks over to Lincoln and looks him over.
"I don't recall seeing you before." said Ilima.
"Lincoln just arrived in Alola over a week ago... via mail." said Professor Kukui.
"What do you mean 'mail'?" asked Ilima. Lincoln then goes on to tell him and Principal Oak about how Luan tried mailing him to his Aunt Ruth's house and ended up in Alola instead. It was safe to say that Principal Oak and Ilima were shocked.
"How can someone do that to their own family member?" asked Principal Oak.
"She's done lots of over-the-top pranks over the years." said Lincoln. They all talk for a while before heading to the front gate of the school.
"So when are you going to attempt the Melemele Island Trial, Lincoln?" asked Ilima.
"This weekend." said Lincoln. "I have school to focus on, plus I want to train up my Pokemon some more for when I do the trial."
"That's a good plan." said Principal Oak.
"Well I look forward to you doing the trial, Lincoln." said Ilima.
"I can't wait to do so." said Lincoln. He then takes out his Rotom Phone and starts dialing his family's phone number.
"What's that?" asked Principal Oak. Professor Kukui then explains to Principal Oak how Rotom inhabited Lincoln's device and altered it.
"Yeah, I call my family every day to let them know how I'm doing." said Lincoln.
"Well it's good that you do that." said Principal Oak. Just then, Lincoln's family answer the call via video chat.
"Hi, Lincoln." said Lynn Sr with the rest of Lincoln's family gathered around him.
"How are you doing?" asked Rita.
"Fine; I just got done with school for today." said Lincoln. Principal Oak walks behind Lincoln and looks over his shoulder at the screen; Lincoln's family notices him.
"Who's that, sweetie?" asked Rita.
"I'm the principal of the Alola Pokemon School." said Professor Oak.
"It's nice to meet you." said Lynn Sr.
"Is Lincoln doing well there?" asked Rita.
"He's a fine young student." said Principal Oak. "According to Professor Kukui, he always puts his all into his studies and turns in his homework on time."
"That's good to hear." said Lynn Sr. Lincoln then holds his camera towards Ilima and introduces him to his family.
"It's nice to meet all of you." said Ilima with a smile. Leni, Luan, Lola, and Lisa all blush when they see him.
"Bah...Bah...Bah." stammered Leni, Luan, Lola, and Lisa. All of a sudden, they hear the sound of approaching motors.
"What's that noise?" asked Lynn Sr. Lincoln looks around and sees Team Skull on their motorcycles riding towards them.
"Oh great, it's Team Skull." said Lincoln.
"Those guys you took on a few days ago?" asked Lynn Jr.
"Yeah, that's them." said Lincoln. Team Skull stop their motorcycles in front of the school and hop off of them.
"Well if it isn't Lincoln." said Tupp. "I was hoping we'd run into you here."
"Yeah, we have some unfinished business with you, kid." said Zipp. He then looks next to him to where he thought Rapp was, but was surprised to see she wasn't there.
"Rapp! What are you doing?!" Tupp says, making Zipp look forward and sweatdrops when he sees Rapp hugging Lincoln.
"It's so good to see you, cutie!" said Rapp as she nuzzles Lincoln's cheek, making him blush.
"Hey! Don't get all clingy with our brother!" said Lynn Jr.
"Yeah, you're not good enough for him." said Luna. Rapp glares at the screen.
"Oh yeah?" replied Rapp.
"Rapp! Get over here so we can rumble!" said Tupp. Rapp pouts under her mask as she lets go of Lincoln and walks over to Tupp and Zipp were, while looking back at Lincoln and giving him a wink, making him blush some more. Once Rapp rejoined her friends, they each let out the Pokemon they all used during their last battle with Lincoln.
"I hope you're ready to lose, kid." said Zipp. Lincoln has his Rotom Phone float near him as he reaches for one of his pokeballs, but stops when Ilima holds his arm out in front of him.
"Please; allow me to take care of these ruffians." said Ilima. Leni, Luan, Lola, and Lisa swoon at Ilima's action.
"He's such a gentleman." said Leni.
"I love that hair color." said Lola. Ilima takes out a pokeball and throws it, releasing a small, brown, foxlike Pokemon with a cream-colored ring of fur around its neck. Lincoln grabs his Rotom Phone and points it towards the Pokemon.
"Eevee, the Evolution Pokemon. The question of why only Eevee has such unstable genes has still not been solved." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"O-M-Gosh, it's totes adorbs!" said Leni.
"It's so cute!" said Lola. Back with Ilima and Team Skull, they were staring at each other.
"So we're taking you on?" asked Rapp.
"Hey, isn't he one of those Trial Captains?" asked Zipp.
"Yeah." said Tupp. "Maybe after we crush him, we can take his Pokemon." Ilima glares at Team Skull harshly.
"You will not steal any of our Pokemon!" said Ilima as he holds up one of his arms, showing that he had a Z-Ring on his wrist, shocking Team Skull.
"A Z-Ring?!" said Zipp.
"Not one of those!" shouts Rapp.
"Is he gonna use a Z-Move?" asked Tupp.
"Z-Move?" asked Lisa on the screen. Lincoln smirks in response and holds the Rotom Phone towards the battle.
"This you all gotta see." said Lincoln. Ilima then puts a white Z-Crystal that had a circular emblem in it into the Z-Ring. He then crosses his arms together in front of him, making energy surge up from the ground, surprising Lincoln's family.
"Whoa!" said Lynn Jr.
"What's going on?" asked Lana. Ilima then does some poses and ends with one that had one of his arms over his head, while the other one was in front of his waist, making the energy around him flow into Eevee, making the Z-Power Symbol appear in front of it.
"Okay, Eevee; use Breakneck Blitz!" shouts Ilima. Eevee charges towards Team Skull's Pokemon at incredible speed and slams into all three of them, sending them flying back to their respective trainer's feet unconscious.
"No way!" shouts Tupp.
"That was fast." said Zipp. Lincoln's family was stunned by what they just witnessed.
"Man, that was awesome." said Lana.
"Wouldn't want to be on the recieving end of that move." said Lynn Jr. Team Skull return their Pokemon to their pokeballs.
"You should've told us that you knew a Z-Move!" shouts Zipp.
"Yeah!" said Tupp as he and the other Team Skull members toss pokedollars at Ilima, then hop on their motorcycles, and start riding off.
"You haven't seen the last of us!" shouts Zipp.
"See you later, cutie!" Rapp says to Lincoln as she waves at him.
"Rapp!" shouts Tupp. After Team Skull was gone, Ilima walks over to his Eevee and kneels down to pet its head.
"Well done, Eevee." said Ilima before returning Eevee to its pokeball. Lincoln, Professor Kukui, and Principal Oak walk over to him.
"Just what I'd expect from a top graduate of my school and Trial Captain." said Principal Oak.
"What Z-Crystal did you use?" asked Lincoln. Ilima holds out his wrist so Lincoln could see the Z-Crystal in his Z-Ring.
"It's called Normalium-Z." said Ilima. "It's used to do the Z-Move called Breakneck Blitz."
"Whoa." said Lincoln. Ilima then picks up the pokedollars that Team Skull threw to him without much interest in it.
"Ilima is so amazing." said Lola.
"Totes!" said Leni. Lincoln then brings up the map of Alola on his Rotom Phone.
"Could you point out where the Melemele Island Trial is at, sir?" asked Lincoln. Ilima looks at the map and points to a small mountain area north of Hau'oli City.
"It's there in a cave area called Verdant Cavern." said Ilima.
"What's the trial like?" asked Lincoln.
"You'll have to wait and see for yourself." said Ilima with a smile. "In the meantime, do what you plan to do this week to prepare yourself for it."
"Yes, sir." said Lincoln. Everyone chats a while longer before Professor Kukui and Lincoln say goodbye to Principal Oak and Ilima and head towards the Hau'oli Outskirts to Professor Kukui's lab. As they do, Lincoln talks to his family for a while longer.
"I hope you pass the Island Trial, sweetie." said Rita.
"You better train up your Pokemon big time." said Lynn Jr.
"And can you see if Ilima has a girlfriend?" asked Leni.
"Do I have to?" asked Lincoln.
"Yes!" shouts Leni, Luan, Lola, and Lisa; making Lincoln sigh in exasperation. He then ends the call there.
"Now that that's done; let's get your Trainer Passport made, Lincoln." said Professor Kukui.
"Okay, Professor." said Lincoln. The two continue on their way to Professor Kukui's lab, with Lincoln focused on his upcoming trial. Can he pass it and move one step closer to competing in the Alola League? Wait and find out.
