The hospital visit had been short, while he was glad that the current situation had put out the fire that fuels Bakugou's harassment, he still wasn't sure how he felt about someone attacking students.

It had become common in today's world for people to use their quirks for wrongful intentions, but that often was reserved for takeovers, heists, and other more large-scale operations. But singling out and attacking a specific student was new.

It also didn't help his mood that at the end of his visit to the hospital, Bakugou was quick to give him the cold shoulder, as if to say 'when this is over, you're in for a world of hurt'.

He started heading home after that. Tomorrow there was a convention happening in the inner city, a yearly commitment that Kiri always fulfilled.

TOMORROW

Kiri was seated in one of the bullet trains headed to the inner city, he watched the large sparkling body of water, appreciating the beauty of the view.

Arriving at his station he got up and saw an alert on the public monitor, 'Dear all citizens, please be aware a minor criminal is on the loose, pro heroes have already been dispatched'. Alerts like that had become common and it was the norm to see five or six of them on a daily basis, often people wouldn't pay them much mind.

POLICE HEADQUARTERS

"This was bad, the sludge criminal he was chasing after ended up going through the sewer system, making him lose track of his location. He wasn't able to pinpoint where he might pop up exactly, but looking at the direction of the pipes meant he was heading to the inner city," a worried police officer reported to his senior. "I'll let All Might know, hopefully he'll be able to get there before any real damage gets done."

Kiri eventually made it to the convention and noticed how many people were already there. It had grown quite popular over the years and was one of the city's main events, there were lines and lines of people everywhere, though instead of joy in their eyes, it was a different emotion.

Kiri was confused by everyone's faces until he heard the screams and people started running, he did the same and noticed that there was some large green fluid at the center of the crowd. He heard people start shouting:

"What the hell is that?"

"Where are the heroes?"

"Crap, he grabbed some kid!"

The last comment caught his attention and as he was running out he managed to see the hostage the slug villain had grabbed.

At first he thought he was just imagining things, but after seeing the blonde hair, the multiple explosions happening around, and the constant output of profanities, he was sure that it was Bakugou.

"G-get the fuck off me! I'll kill you!" he heard him yell as he was being dragged away. Kiri didn't have time to worry about Bakugou and instead tried to get behind the safety perimeter and wait for the heroes. Except he started feeling a familiar feeling, black dots started clouding his vision and he soon found himself falling to the ground.

HOSPITAL EMERGENCY WARD

"Uugh, where am I?" looking around he saw a curtain on his left side and what appeared to be other beds lined up next to his. He was in a hospital. "Doctor, come quick, he's awake!" Soon enough a doctor who was sweating profusely from his forehead came to see him.

"I'm sorry for the trouble, I know you just woke up and are probably confused as to how you got here. But these officers would like to have a quick chat with you, I've taken care of your injuries and they were mainly minor," with that the doctor left and Kiri was escorted to a room with two detectives.

"So, Kiri Shori, do I have that correct?" asked one of the detectives while the other remained tight-lipped and continued to write down on his notepad. "Y-yes that's me. Can I ask what this is about? Am I in trouble? I swear I'm sorry for anyt-."

"You're not in trouble kiddo. But I just want to bring you up to speed on how you got here and also ask some questions. For starters, do you know how you ended up in this hospital?"

"The last thing I remember was that I was in the inner city and then that slug criminal from the news showed up, people were running and I started running with them. That's really all I remember."

"That's correct, you were one of the numerous people who were injured during that…incident. Can you tell me anything specifically that you remembered about the criminal."

"H-he grabbed one of my classmates. His name was Bakugou Katsuki." At that mention the detective's face shifted to an unreadable expression to Kiri. "Yes, we are aware of the hostage that was taken, we're currently looking for any viable leads into finding him right away. Are you sure you don't remember anything else?"

Kiri shook his head and with that the detectives started to wrap things up, thanking him for his time. Due to his injuries being minor he was quickly discharged from the hospital and made his way back to the train.

Once onboard the realization started dawning on him, they still hadn't caught the criminal.

Despite the fact that Bakugou was psychotic to Kiri, it still felt scary thinking about him being taken hostage, he just hoped the heroes would find the villain soon.

For now, even though he had just woken up in the hospital, he felt incredibly tired and was quick to drift off to sleep once he got home.

TOMORROW MORNING

Kiri sat in front of the TV watching the news as he ate a bowl of cereal. He knew it wasn't the best way to start the day off but the sugary goodness was too tempting. The news broadcast was going over the events of yesterday:

"Just now we have received word that the hostage has been rescued, he was found in a nearby deserted zone. He suffered from a broken arm as well as severe bruising to the abdomen, but is luckily in stable condition. There has been no word on the capture of the villain and citizens should use caution as he is still loose."

Kiri let out a sigh of relief at knowing the situation had grown less intense than yesterday, despite the troubling experience, he still had to go to school.

Arriving on school grounds he was expecting Bakugou to not be present and still be resting in a hospital somewhere. But there he was walking slowly towards the classroom, he had several tape bandages across his face and a cast for his left arm.

However, the most shocking thing was that as he walked by Kiri, he did nothing. No kicks to the stomach or elbows to head, he just walked through and did nothing. Kiri understood that the injuries were severe but he thought that since Bakugou was…well Bakugou, that the beatings would still continue.

He enjoyed the thought for a little bit, with Bakugou injured the way he is, the only thing he could worry about were the exams and Kiri was safe from his blows. On top of that, Motsuro was still bedridden in the hospital, with those two out of the way, Kiri could enjoy some peace until the exams.

ALL MIGHT'S POV

He stared at the horrific sight in front of him. The problem with the sludge villain was that due to the state of his body he was practically able to slip through his grip, as well as any other hero's grasp.

But before him now, he saw the sludge villain in what appeared to be metal capsules, there were a total 17 in front of him, each containing what once was the sludge villain. 'Was' because there was black ash all around the outside of the capsules.

Someone was able to capture him into capsules, and instead of turning him over to the police, burned him to death. It was a deeply disturbing sight and it was even more disturbing to be face-to-face with these capsules, but he didn't have time to worry about that.

If someone else did this to the sludge villain, then who broke the arm of the hostage?
