Axel pulled something out of her cargo pants, it was a cellphone. She turned it on and started looking through it.
CONFESSIONAL: AXEL
"Before MK left, that drone revealed all her stolen items."
"I was able to grab that phone she mentioned earlier. I want to see what all the fuss is about."
END CONFESSIONAL
Axel was having difficulties with the phone.
"Ugh! This stupid thing won't work! This is why I only use messenger pigeons!" Axel said
Bowie walked by and noticed her.
"Girl do you really not know how to use a cell phone?" Bowie said
Axel scoffed and shook her head. Bowie sat down next to her.
"Here let me show you." Bowie said
Bowie grabbed the phone and started swiping through it.
"You just click on the app you want to go. Like this photo app. It'll show you all the photos and videos you saved." Bowie said
Bowie pressed the photos app. He was surprised to see a bunch of videos of the contestants.
"Have you been secretly recording us this whole time?" Bowie said
"No! Look don't tell anyone else. But I swiped this phone from MK. I think it might prove to be useful." Axel said
"Hmm. Let's see what type of dirt she had." Bowie said
Bowie pressed on one of the videos.
PAST CONFESSIONAL: CHASE
"Did I mean any of that crap I just said? No."
"But I've done fake apology videos before. That was a piece of cake."

"Man I could really go for some cake right now."

Bowie and Axel glanced at each other.
"I KNEW HE WAS FAKING IT!" Axel/ Bowie said
"Wait you knew about Chase lying to Emma?" Bowie said
"Yeah. I tried warning her but she's so stubborningly insistent on trusting him." Axel said
"Exactly! This whole situation is so dumb. Girl needs to wake up already." Bowie said
Bowie looked at the phone and smirked.
"Luckily I think we just found the perfect alarm." Bowie said
"As much as I'd like to do it. I think we need to wait for the right time. Otherwise she might blow up." Axel said
"Hmm you do make a good point. I think we need to provoke Chase a little bit. Have him show his true colors. And then show Emma the video as dessert!" Bowie said
"I like it." Axel said
Axel and Bowie shook hands.
~ The Mess Hall~
Emma, Bowie, Wayne, Chase and Axel were sitting at a table together. Julia and Scary Girl were sitting at different tables by themselves. Priya got her breakfast and decided to take her chances with Scary Girl.
"I was gonna scare you later. But I guess I can shoehorn you in for a scare session now." Scary Girl said
"No! No! No scaring please! I just wanted to sit down and eat my breakfast." Priya said
Priya took a bite of her cereal. She couldn't help but notice Scary Girl staring at her.
"Is there something on my face?" Priya said
"No." Scary Girl said
Priya continued to eat as Scary Girl watched. She started chewing faster so she can leave fast. Scary Girl offered a glass of milk.
"Nfo! Thsnshks! Ijgj godod!" Priya said
It was hard to understand Priya since her mouth was full. Scary Girl put down the glass.
"Do you have any deathly allergies?" Scary Girl said
Priya swallowed the food in her mouth.
"Peanuts! But I wouldn't say deathly allergic. One time I ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, was in the bathroom for three hours! So now I just eat jelly sandwiches!" Priya said
"Oops." Scary Girl said
"Uhh.. what do you mean oops?" Priya said
Scary Girl looked down at Priya's bowl. Priya gasped.
"You didn't?!" Priya said
Scary Girl giggled. Priya pushed the bowl aside and screamed.
"I NEED MY EPI PEN!" Priya said
Priya dashed out of the mess hall.

"I didn't poison her food. I was just playing mind games with her. Hehe!"

Julia walked over to Scary Girl's table.
"Before I extend an olive branch. I want you to know that we are NOT equals. You are literally my last resort and I'd never be seen you with in public." Julia said
"Get to the point." Scary Girl said
The way Scary Girl talked made Julia a bit nervous.
"Alliance?" Julia said
"No!" Scary Girl said
"What? Why?!" Julia said
"I don't do alliances." Scary Girl said
"Why not? You need people on your side in order to win." Julia said
"Whether I win or not doesn't really matter to me. I'm just here to have fun!" Scary Girl said
"Fun? Maybe you got confused but this isn't summer camp! There is a MILLION dollars on the line here!" Julia said
"Hmm! Still don't really care!" Scary Girl said
"Ugh!" Julia said
Julia got up and walked away.

~The Forest~
The campers all lined up to see what Chris had to say.
"Today's challenge will be simple. A pleasant canoe ride through the river, a leisurely stroll through a field and race up to a mountain. The first person to ring a bell at the top wins individual immunity." Chris said
"Is there a catch? This seems way too easy." Bowie said
"I can assure you there is no catch." Chris said
Priya noticed something.
"Now if there are no more questions. Pick a canoe partner and start paddling!" Chris said
"You're coming with me!" Axel said
Axel grabbed Chase's hand and ran off.
"It's nice to see those two getting along." Emma said
"Emma want to team up?" Bowie said
"Sure!" Emma said
Emma and Bowie ran off together. Julia looked at her remaining options.
"Hockey Jock you're with me!" Julia said
"Okay Coach!" Wayne said
Wayne and Julia ran off together.
"Wait! Did you guys leave me with?!" Priya said
Priya could feel Scary Girl breathing down her neck.
"Aah!" Priya said
Scary Girl tightly grabbed Priya's hand.
"C'mon!" Scary Girl said
Scary Girl ran at a fast speed as Priya struggled to keep up.
All the duos grabbed a canoe from the boathouse and made their way to the river. Axel and Chase were the first two on the water.
"So what was that all about? I thought we hated each other." Chase said
"We do. But like they say, keep your friends close and lying backstabbers closer." Axel said
"Whatever." Chase said
The two rowed silently. Axel decided to speak up.
"So I saw one of your videos the other day." Axel said
"You did?!" Chase said
"Yeah. It sucked just like your personality." Axel said
Chase frowned.
"A lot of people rip on me. But being a youtuber is hard work." Chase said
"Seriously? You think being a youtuber is hard? Standing there in front of a camera while you do something stupid? That's your big contribution to society? Just messing stuff up?" Axel said
"Why are you turning this into an interrogation?! If you don't like my channel then just find another one... geez." Chase said
Emma and Bowie rowed by.
"How's it going?" Bowie said
"Chase seems to be doing well." Axel said
Bowie knew what Axel meant. He decided to talk to Chase.
"Hey Chase! You and Emma are childhood friends right?" Bowie said
"Yeah." Chase said
"Cool! I wanted to know when Emma's birthday was so I can give her an awesome gift. Would you mind telling me when Emma's birthday is?" Bowie said
"I could tell you-" Emma said
"Nope! I want to hear it from Chase!" Bowie said
"I...uh...well...you see..." Chase said
"Chase?" Emma said
"Oh...uh...November 26th! Boom!" Chase said
"My birthday is in February." Emma said
"I knew that. Was just...um...joking around? Don't want to keep Chris waiting!" Chase said
Chase started to row faster.

"When we were dating, Chase would always forget our special occasions. Anniversary, birthdays, date nights. You name it and he'd forget it!"
"Thinking about it just makes me mad.."

Julia and Wayne were rowing together.
"I know we've only spoken like two sentences to each other. But please please please join my alliance! I'm like really desperate at this point!" Julia said
"I already got one with Emma and Bowie. You should join it!" Wayne said
"Ew no! I can't stand that twink. He needs to be the next one off this island." Julia said
"No way eh! Bowie's a really cool dude." Wayne said
"Yeah he's so cool that he'll just waltz his way into the finale. Is that really what you want?" Julia said
"Sure is! If me and Bowie make the final 2! It'll be like an epic, Batman versus Superman type of battle!" Wayne said
Julia slapped her forehead.

"These losers are really testing my patience."

The canoe ride between Priya and Scary Girl was pretty silent. Until Priya decided to speak up.
"Look I know you hate alliances. But all I ask is for this silly feud between us to end. It's really affecting my ability to do well in this game." Priya said
"Hmm.. no!" Scary Girl said
"Why? Why do you hate me so much?" Priya said
"You were Damien's friend and you voted him off. I may not have any friends but I know they wouldn't do that to each other." Scary Girl said
"He was INJURED! He could barely walk on his own! He was in no condition to compete! I thought that was the best way to help him and... wait. Did you just say you don't have any friends?" Priya said
Scary Girl didn't say anything. Priya took a moment to think about the information she just learned.
"Please don't kill me but I want to ask you something." Priya said
Scary Girl tilted her head.
"The whole entire game you've been against strategizing, voting and making alliances. Is that because you only came here to make friends? And is that why you took Damien being voted off so seriously? Because you consider him a friend?" Priya said

"Yeah." Scary Girl said
"Well even though I technically didn't do anything wrong, I'm sorry. And if you want, I could be your friend." Priya said
Scary Girl thought about her offer.
"Tempting. How do I know this isn't some elaborate ruse to get me to join an alliance?" Scary Girl said
"I promise whenever I'm with you, I won't talk about game. We could take about what you like! Whether that be death or taxidermy or whatever." Priya said
"I like the sound of that!" Scary Girl said
Scary Girl hugged Priya tightly. Priya struggled to breathe. Scary Girl whispered something in her ear.
"Just so you know new friend. If you break my trust, I break your spine..." Scary Girl said
"Okay.." Priya said
CONFESSIONAL: PRIYA
"At least she doesn't hate me anymore.."

Axel, Chase, Bowie and Emma were in the current lead. Axel squinted her eyes as she looked on ahead.
"I don't see a path. Where exactly is this river taking us?" Axel said
"I think we're about to find out." Bowie said
The canoes tipped over the edge and fell down, revealing a waterfall. All four contestants screamed as they fell down. A giant splash knocked them all out of their canoes. They scrambled in the water as the river continued running.
"Emma! Grab on!" Axel said
Emma hugged Axel as the two tried to make their way back to a canoe. Chase tried to grab onto Bowie.
"Save me bro!" Chase said
"All I ask for is to die with a really cute guy in my arms and I can't even get that." Bowie said
Bowie pushed Chase off of him, he swam back to his canoe.
"Chase! Stop playing around and get back up here!" Axel said
"Can't! Something's got my leg!" Chase said
Chase was pulled into the river. The other three gasped as a grizzly bear stood up with Chase in its arms. The camera panned over to Chris watching it all happen.
"Did I forget to mention the hungry bears? My bad!" Chris said
The camera panned back over to the challenge. Emma picked up an oar and used it to whack the bear.
"Leave! My! Friend! Alone!" Emma said
Emma continued to whack the bear until it let go of Chase. He fell back into the water, Emma reached out to give him a hand.
"You saved me?" Chase said
"That's what friends are for. I'm sure you would've done the same." Emma said

"Hmmmm. Nah."

As the four continued their canoe ride. Julia, Wayne, Scary Girl and Priya were reaching the waterfall.
"Where'd the others go?" Wayne asked
"If we can't see anything up ahead then were probably heading for a waterfall." Priya said
"Ugh! I hate all these water challenges! My hair will never recover!" Julia said
Their canoes tipped over the edge and they all fell down the waterfall. Some screamed with fear while others screamed with joy. They crashed down onto the water and met up with an angry bear.
To avoid a repeat of last time, the bear took their oars and snapped it in half. Julia, Wayne and Priya gulped.
"Y'know. I've always wanted a teddy bear.." Scary Girl said
Scary Girl got up from her canoe and tackled the grizzly bear. The two got into a nasty fight. Priya watched this with awe.

Julia, Wayne and Priya made it to the geyser fields. They saw Axel, Bowie, Chase and Emma up ahead.
"I NEED to make sure Bowie doesn't win." Julia said
Julia charged towards the geyser field to gain a lead. She didn't look where she was running and got her leg stuck in a hole. She tried to pull it out but it was too late. The geyser erupted and Julia was sent flying into the air.
"Y'know Chase, I'm really curious about something. How was your first time meeting Emma's parents? Did it go over well?" Bowie said
"It went great! They totally loved me!" Chase said
"Hmmm.." Emma said
"What?" Chase said
"I wouldn't exactly say that. Especially after what you did." Emma said
"That? It was no big deal!" Chase said
"It WAS a big deal! You cut down a tree that landed on my mother!" Emma said
Bowie and Axel gasped.
"Oh my god.." Bowie said
"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Axel said
"Wait! Wait! Context is important! I was trying to cut down a tree to save her cat and her mom got in the way. Plus she's perfectly fine." Chase said
"Then why does she call me Geoff?!" Emma said
"I meant the cat!" Chase said
Their argument was interrupted by a screaming Julia. She came down and crashed onto Bowie. The two groaned in pain.
"Oh my gosh! Bowie!" Emma said
"J-Just go on ahead.. I'll deal with the she-witch." Bowie said
Emma nodded. She continued going through the geyser field with Axel and Chase. Bowie and Julia got up.
"You're not gonna stop me from gaining immunity." Julia said
"Don't let my appearance fool you. These hands weren't just made for manicures." Bowie said
Bowie and Julia each took a fighting stance and put up their fists. Only to get into a slap fight shortly afterwards.
Wayne and Priya were trying to catch up.
"Let's just do what Julia did! It'll give us a killer lead!" Wayne said
"That doesn't seem very practical.." Priya said
Wayne ignored Priya advice and jumped into a geyser hole. The water erupted and sent Wayne flying. Only for him to fall right near the spot.
"My leg!" Wayne said
Priya ran over to check on him.
"What's wrong with your leg?" Priya said
"I think it took most of the impact to my fall. Hurts pretty bad eh.." Wayne said
"You gotta elevate your leg to alleviate some of the pain!" Priya said
Priya tried to carefully lift Wayne's leg and he let out a yelp.
"Sorry!" Priya said

Axel, Chase and Emma arrived at Honey Mountain.
"Is there actual honey nearby? Because I'm seeing bees everywhere." Emma said
"Guess there's only one way to find out." Chase said
The trio reluctantly began walking up the mountain. They occasionally had to swat away some pesky bees.
"I've been wondering. How did you two end up dating in the first place?" Axel said
"Oh boy! Do I have a story for you!" Chase said
~Chase's Flashback~
Emma was putting away some books in her locker. As she closed it, she saw Chase right next to her.
"Oh! Um you're from my math class right?" Emma said
"Yeah. I know a lot of numbers, except yours. Mind giving them to me?" Chase said
Emma blushed.
"Well I normally don't do this but.. sure!" Emma said
Chase pulled out his phone as Emma gave him her digits.
"Nice. I'll call you sometime. Until then, I'll see you around gorgeous." Chase said
Chase winked at her and walked away. Emma sighed.
"He's so dreamy.." Emma said
~End Flashback~
"Not even remotely close to what happened. Why do you have such a warped view of our relationship?" Emma said
"I'm pretty sure that's how it went down." Chase said
"Ugh.. Let me tell the story." Emma said
~Emma's Flashback~
Emma was putting away some books in her locker. As she closed it, she saw Chase right next to her.
"Oh! Um you're from my math class right?" Emma said
"Yeah. I know a lot of numbers, except yours. Mind giving them to me?" Chase said
Emma blinked twice.
"I respect the boldness but I'm gonna have to decline. I barely know you." Emma said
Emma started to walk away but Chase got down on his knees.
"Please! Please Please give me your number! I told a bunch of guys I have a hot girlfriend and if I show up with nothing then they'll think I'm a loser!" Chase said
Emma looked disgusted.
"Well now I'm definitely not giving you my number!" Emma said
Chase started to sniffle up as tears flowed up from his eyes.
"Please, please, please.." Chase said
Emma confidently walked away. But as she looked back, she saw how pathetic Chase was. The pity in her heart made her feel like she needed to give him a chance. She walked back to him.
"I'll give you my number as a friend. Okay? And if you clean up your act a little bit. Maybe we'll see where things goes." Emma said
"You really mean it?!" Chase said
Emma nodded. Chase got up and hugged her.
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Chase said
Emma smiled as she hugged him back.
~End Flashback~
"Fake news. I'm a man, I never cry." Chase said
"You sure did cry when I dumped you!" Emma said
Emma brushed past Chase and walked ahead.

"I thought Chase was getting better but I'm starting to see fragments of his old self."
"I know I should probably just cut him out of my life. But he's been there for a huge chunk of it."
"Feels wrong.."

"Nice going Romeo." Axel said
"You're just jealous that my lips have touched Emma's before yours have." Chase said
"You're such a pig." Axel said
Axel shoved Chase and followed Emma. Chase lingered back and noticed some honey plastered on the mountain. The curious part of him went over to lick it.
"I thought honey would've tasted sweeter." Chase said
An angry pack of bees flew by Chase and picked him up.
"Hey! I only took one quick bite!" Chase said
The bees flew away with Chase. A bruised Bowie and Julia made it to the mountain.
"Had enough yet?" Julia asked
Bowie shook his head. The two started another slap fight. The camera panned over to Priya and Wayne. Priya was carrying Wayne on her back.
"Thanks again eh.." Wayne said
"No problem! I'll just count this as part of my training for today." Priya said
The two saw Scary Girl pull up to the geyser field, on top of a grizzly bear.
"Hey new friend! Need a ride?" Scary Girl said
"Sure! But you don't mean on the bear right?" Priya said
"There's nothing wrong with Teddy Gruesome! He's misunderstood! Aren't you boy?" Scary Girl said
Scary Girl tickled Teddy Gruesome's ear as it smiled.
"Um.. since we are friends now. I'm willing to trust you!" Priya said
Priya threw Wayne on the bear's back and then hopped on. Scary Girl kicked the bear and it started running. It made it's way past the geyser field and towards the mountain. Bowie and Julia stopped slapping each other and dove out of the way. The bear passed by them.
"Were those three just riding a bear?" Bowie asked
Julia took this opportunity to push Bowie and start running.
"Hey! Get back here!" Bowie said
Bowie tried to catch up to the rest of them. Emma and Axel were nearing the top of the mountain.
"Everything okay?" Axel said
"Not really. I'm having some doubts about my friendship with Chase. I want him to change but I don't think he can.." Emma said
"If Chase doesn't want to put in the work to restore the friendship then he's not worth your time." Axel said
"I know.." Emma said
Emma sighed. The two eventually made it to the top. There was a gigantic volcanic hole filled with honey. At the other side was a bell.
"Welcome to the top of Honey Mountain! All you need to do now is ring this bell and win immunity!" Chris said
Axel and Emma glanced at each other.
"It's all yours." Axel said
"Aww thanks babe." Emma said
Emma kissed Axel on the cheek. She began to run over to the bell. But she stopped as she saw a pack of bees fly across the mountain with Chase. They dropped him near the hole. Chase screamed as he fell down. He was able to quickly hang on to the edge of the mountain.
"Agh! Emma help me!" Chase said
Emma hesitantly walked towards Chase.
"Wait! Before you do that. I think you should see this." Axel said
Axel pulled out a cell phone.
"Oh you finally got a phone? Cool!" Emma said
"It's not my phone, it's MK's! Well technically it's Nichelle's. But that's not important!" Axel said
Axel played the video.
PAST CONFESSIONAL: CHASE

A confused Emma scratched her head.
"Was that real?" Emma asked
"Yeah! MK was using it to learn secrets from us. That's how she knew everything!" Axel said
"Oh my god... So what just Chase just said." Emma said
Emma and Axel turned to look at Chase.
"Okay I have a perfectly reasonable explanation for that." Chase said
Emma and Axel waited for Chase to come up with an excuse.
"Well?" Axel said
"I'm thinking! Um... that was my twin brother! It's apart of this season's twist so-" Chase said
"Stop! For once in your life just tell the truth Chase! Was your apology sincere or not?!" Emma asked
"Full truth?" Chase said
"Yes!" Emma said
"Not really. I just said that so you wouldn't vote me off." Chase said
"So all this time.." Emma said
"Yeah I was just faking it. I thought if I couldn't win you back then I might as well beat you and make you look like a fool." Chase said
"Oh my god.. you're horrible.." Emma said
"Horribly seductive?" Chase said
"NO JUST HORRIBLE! WE'VE KNOWN EACH OTHER SINCE MIDDLE SCHOOL AND THIS IS HOW YOU TREAT ME? WELL NOT ANYMORE! WERE DONE CHASE! AS A COUPLE AND AS FRIENDS! NEVER TALK TO ME AGAIN!" Emma said
Emma walked away from Chase. Axel put her boot down on Chase's fingers.
"Ow! Hey! Stop that!" Chase said
Axel continued stomping her boot onto Chase's fingers.
"Ow! Emma! Could use a little help right now!" Chase said
Emma continued walking.
"Seriously Emma! I'm about to fall! Please please please help me!" Chase said
Emma turned around and saw a desperate look on Chase's face. This reminded her of the time she first met him. She shook her head and did what she should've done long ago.
She walked away from Chase and didn't look back. She made it to the bell and rung it.
"This just in! Emma wins immunity!" Chris said
"Yes!" Emma said
Axel did one last stomp onto Chase's fingers. This was enough to make him lose his grip and he fell into the core of honey mountain. He screamed the whole way down.
Scary Girl, Priya and Wayne were the next ones to make it up to the top.
"Congrats Ems!" Wayne said
"Thanks Wayne. I feel like I can finally move forward now." Emma said
~Campfire~
It was a tense and dramatic walk to the elimination ceremony. Priya offered to help Wayne on account of his injured leg and Chase was completely covered in honey. They all sat down around the campfire.
"Alright time to crush a player's dreams. Wait why is there a bear here?" Chris asked
"His name is Teddy Gruesome and he wanted to be here." Scary Girl said
Scary Girl hugged her new pet.
"Okay... Chef care to start things off?" Chris said
"Gladly! The most obvious target is Chase. You were manipulating your ex-girlfriend to get further in the competition. That's some scummy shit right there." Chef said
"It did nearly work though. Gotta give me credit for that." Chase said
Emma gave Chase a death glare. He blew a raspberry at her as a response.
"Then there's Julia and Bowie. You two spent a huge chunk of the day fighting each other. If you actually managed to work together. Maybe one of you could've won." Chef said
"Work with Bowie? I already tried that and it was a nightmare." Julia said
"Yeah it's such a nightmare that I saved you from being first boot. You're welcome by the way." Bowie said
Julia rolled her eyes.
"The votes are in. Emma, Axel, Priya, Wayne and Scary Girl! You're all safe!" Chris said
Chris gave each of them a marshmallow. Scary Girl gave her marshmallow to Teddy Gruesome.
Julia and Bowie glared at each other. Chase looked relatively calm. Chris looked at the final two marshmallows.
"Two marshmallows left. Will it go to Bowie? Or maybe Julia? Or is there even a chance that Chase stays?" Chris said
"I'm the main character of this show. No way I get kicked off this early." Chase said
"You might want to rethink your logic there bud." Chris said
Chris gave a marshmallow to Bowie and Julia.
"Chase you have been eliminated!" Chris said
Chase did a double take and gasped.
"W-W-What?!" Chase said
"Why are you surprised? Everybody hates you." Axel said
"Julia sucks but at least she's not a sexist piece of crap like you." Bowie said
Teddy Gruesome growled at Chase.
"Okay, okay I'm leaving. Just know my loyal subscribers will not be happy about this!" Chase said
Chase got up and walked over to the Dock of Shame. Once he was there, he saw absolutely no one was there to see him off.
"Now that you've been eliminated. Do you have any regrets? Do you wish you treated Emma better?" Chris asked
Chase took this time to do a little self reflecting. He thought about how he constantly pestered Emma, tried to crush her with a boulder and then manipulated her into thinking he was her friend.

The Drone of Despair flew by and picked up Chase by his hoodie. He continued to rap as he flew off into the sunset.

Over the course of this fanfic. I've gotten some interesting reviews about Chase. Some wanted him to hook up with Priya, some even wanted him to win. But this is the end of Chase's storyline for this season.
Most would assume with the way I wrote him that I dislike Chase. But that would be further from the truth. He's in the top 5 for my TDI 2023 character list. The lovable asshole is a tricky character trope to pull off and I think Chase does it well. In this rewrite, I mostly tried to expand upon his relationship with Emma while keeping his humor intact.
Also I saw the leaked episode of season 2. Still a bit iffy at being at the island again. But I really enjoyed it. Excited to see what the characters can do. I'm rooting for a Damien win. But I'm not so sure about his chances given his lack of screentime so far.
