A year has pass since the Hundred-Year War has finally come to an end, and nine months since the arrival of the dinosaurs, and the return of the dragons. And with the world returning to peace not since Roku's time.

Recently Aang has finally managed to establish a ban on dragon hunting, and that they and dinosaurs are protected. And a lot has changed since last year after Azula's death as the world returns to it's former self before the war.

A sign that the world is on the road to recovery.

Today, at the Fire Nation Capital, a meeting was finish by Zuko and Aang, as Katara, Sokka, Suki, and Ty Lee have accompanied them as they begin to wrap up.

"I'd say that meeting was a success." Sokka said.

"Indeed, the world is slowly beginning to recover after the war." Aang said.

"We still have a long way to go, but we'll get there." Zuko said.

"And with us working together, we'll bring balance to the world." Katara added.

"And find ways to honor those who helped in the war as well." Suki said.

"Where's Toph, by the way?" Ty Lee asked.

"Oh, long meetings aren't her thing so she's spending some time with Mai?" Katara explained.

Later towards sunset, Zuko stood by a memorial of his sister, Azula, where she last stood before the Mosasaur snatched her and the Indominus a year ago. He knows they weren't close, or that Azula wasn't the person who deserves one, but he felt it was the right thing to do at least.

Aang and Mai then appeared.

"Zuko?" Mai said.

"Oh. Uh, hey." Zuko said not turning to them.

Aang saw his attention on the memorial. "Thinking about her again?"

Zuko then sighed. "I know Azula and I weren't close, but... for some reason I feel it's the right thing to do."

"How could think that fear is the best way to control people?" Aang asked.

"To be honest, I have no idea." Zuko admitted. "Too much time around our father or Grandfather Azulon I think."

Meanwhile, Sokka and Katara were looking around the palace's archives seeing many books, scrolls and other things.

"Wow, there's so much here, I don't even know where to start." Katara said in awe.

"Same here." Sokka admitted.

As they looked around, Sokka noticed something right beside a shelf. Having a closer look, he saw it was a line in the wall that looked like a hidden compartment.

"Hey, what is that?" Sokka wondered.

"What?" Katara asked joining by him.

"There's something hidden behind this." Sokka said.

They both pushed the shelf aside, and Sokka opens the hatch and reaches inside pulling out a box.

"What is all this?" Katara wondered.

"No idea." Sokka said.

Later at night, they were all looking over what the box had as Suki unrolls what appears to be a map showing a remote region somewhere in the northwest region on the Earth Kingdom. And the area looks to be covered with lush rainforest.

"It's a map." Suki said.

"Wow." Aang said.

"This looks to be made sometime during the war." Aang said.

"Look, this must be someone's signature here, look." Ty Lee said noticing a handwriting.

"Wait a minute." Zuko said recognizing it. "That's my uncle's handwriting."

"What?" Toph frowned.

"Why would your uncle hide an old map and some journals?" Katara wondered baffled.

They remained silent as they turn to each other.

The next day, they were at Ba Sing Se at Iroh's teashop wanting to learn more as they explained everything to him.

"And you managed to find this?" Iroh frowned.

"Yes." Sokka said.

"What is this, Uncle?" Zuko asked.

Iroh then sighed. "I guess I should've thought this day would come. You see, during the days in my prime, a while before my attempt to conquer Ba Sing Se, my army were looking for new land to set up a factory for weaponry."

"You did?" Aang frowned.

"Yes, Aang." Iroh said. "This rainforest was like no other in the world. Many Fire Nation soldiers attempt to tame this land, but few were lucky to come back alive."

"What's out there, exactly?" Suki asked.

"Very few knows." Iroh admitted. "And even I barely know what's there. This land is called Pandora, and the few survivors say there's an ancient tribe who lives there."

"Nomads of some kind?" Aang wondered.

"I don't think so." Iroh said shaking his head. "These people seem more primitive than any culture, more tuned in with nature. Called the Na'vi. And they don't take kindly to outsiders, and fund with arrows dipped in a neurotoxin that will stop a heart in one minute. Pandora was described as No Man's Land, so eventually we left it alone."

"What else could be out there?" Katara asked.

"Hard to say, but those who survived described creatures unlike anything seen." Iroh said. "One even say it shouldn't be possible for them to exist."

"Seems like we have a little field trip to do." Aang said. "Maybe we should check it out."

"Uh, did you miss the part with the poisoned arrows?" Sokka asked.

"But, Sokka, if we show these natives we mean no harm, we might be find." Aang said.

"And it's not every day you get to explore some uncharted land." Katara said. "I'd say we check it out."

"I advised you all to be careful." Iroh advised. "This place is more dangerous than anywhere else on Earth."

"We will, Iroh." Katara said. "Thank you."

Later that night, in a badland region, a figure sat in a meditative pose on a high cliff. The figure appears to be female, but there was no moonlight casting out to reveal who she was.

"I will finish what I've started." She said.

Then, a pair of familiar golden eyes opened.

Author's Note:

I apologize for how short this chapter is, but will do better on the next one.

As a reminder, this story is a sequel to my Dawn of a New Era story. So dinosaurs are planned to appear.

And yes, I plan to introduce the Way of Water creatures as well.

And for Dragon fans, Season 8 of Dragons: The Nine Realms is 12 days away. And it mention Realm #8: the Gods Realm. The big question is what kinds of dragons call this Realm home? And I heard some mention that Thunder's family may return.

I don't wanna get my hopes high, but what are the chances that there could be some surviving Night Furies hiding in the Gods Realms or the ninth Realm yet to be revealed?

But right know, let's hope that the Riders will find a way to stop the Jörmungandr, Buzzsaw, and Sledkin.

And curious question, something for chapters later on: How would Tsaheylu work with a human?
