A/N: Can I do fluffy? Basically that's what this is…
OOOOOOOOOOOOOO
David watched Calli dance by the fire with the Boys. She moved like she was having a good time. Just losing herself to the music coming from Paul's "rockbox". He traced his fingers around a tear in his chair's arm.
"Calli looks happy tonight," Marko commented, appearing at David's side.
David glanced at his brother. "She does…but it's a lie."
"What do you mean?"
"Look harder, Marko. Use your senses."
David's eyes turned back to Calli as he sensed her unease, her sadness. She was good at putting on a show, but David knew her well by now. Sometimes, he knew her better than she knew herself.
What has you so upset, Calli? David wondered.
Calli's green eyes turned to him like he had spoken to her. Calli met his gaze and she offered a small smile. Her attention was quickly gotten by Dwayne and Paul again.
David knew that she could have any man that she wanted. The Boys all loved her. She was always with them. But for some reason, she chose to be closer to him.
Calli, he thought to her.
Calli's attention turned to him once more. A question was in her eyes. David gestured for her to come to him.
"Sorry Boys," Calli murmured, pulling away from Paul and Dwayne. "I'll dance more with you some other time."
Paul pouted, but Calli resisted. She moved over to David and trailed her hand over his chest as she passed by him. David rose to his feet and followed her into a darkened hall of tunnels and secret chambers. Calli hummed as she walked, sounding like she was listening to a song play in her head from Paul's "rockbox" collection.
"Calli," David whispered as Calli turned into a chamber that they frequented often.
Calli turned and looked at him, leaning against the bed that resided in the room. "David…come here."
David resisted the temptation. "Why are you forcing a happy façade tonight, Calli?"
Calli shook her head. "I'm not."
"Calli…"
"David, I'm not."
David held her gaze. "Calli…"
She broke the stare and sighed. "Dammit. I should have known you would see through me. Dwayne would too…" She glanced at him. "What gave me away?"
David moved closer, ignoring the question. "Why are you upset?"
Calli sighed. "Memories. I've had a lot of memories come floating back and it hasn't helped my fight with depression."
"Has someone -?"
"It's not anyone's fault, David. There's nothing that anyone did. I just get flashbacks and things pop up. The depression follows. This time, it was really heavy on me."
David pulled her into his arms. He smoothed his hand through her hair and breathed in her scent. It was funny that just touching her forced his lungs to react as a human's would, all for her comfort.
Will I still do it when we change her? Will we all?
"I wish I could take it away."
"The memories?"
"The depression. The DID. All of it."
Calli shook her head. "I wouldn't be me then."
David sighed, breathing in her scent. He didn't want to think about that. Calli tapped her fingers lightly against his chest.
"You're not happy," Calli commented. "Because this is something that can't be changed."
David was silent. As easily as he could read her, she could read him. It helped. Sometimes.
Calli stroked his chest with the tips of her fingers. "David…what is it that you want tonight?"
"To hold you."
Calli nodded, trying to stifle a yawn. "Can we do it laying down? Human girl is getting tired."
David scooped her up and deposited her on the bed. He climbed next to her and held her lightly in his arms. Calli yawned and curled into him. Her shirt rode up a little and he touched the soft skin of her belly.
The Goth let out a small sigh. "You're not the only one who wishes things could be changed. It's not like I chose to stay this way."
"Maybe becoming a vampire will help."
"You don't have that guarantee. Things could get a lot worse with me becoming a vampire."
"Or they could go away and you'd be happy."
"Prove it before you change me, David. Find someone who was Turned that had severe mental illnesses before and lost it or handled it better before you Turn me. Okay?"
"Okay."
"Pinky promise." Calli stuck up her hand with her pinky out.
David rolled his eyes. Childish. "Pinky promise."
Calli glared up at him. "If you break that promise, a fairy dies. And I won't forgive you for that since my aunt is a fairy."
"Your aunt is not a -"
"She is so! She may have died, but she turned into God's first fairy!" Calli glared at him harder. "Don't you argue with me about this, David! You won't win."
David sighed and pulled her closer. "I thought you were tired."
"I'm more frustrated now."
David smirked. "Frustrated, eh? I can help with that."
Calli let out a small sound when his hand touched her through her clothes. Her breathing softened to kittenish moans, but she stayed still, letting him tease her. David's senses were flooded with everything Calli.
"Will you always do this?" Calli asked, shaking slightly. "To me?"
"Only you," David promised, moving his hand under her clothes. "For the rest of time."
Calli smiled against his chest. "At some point, you may get tired of me."
"Not likely."
"It could happen."
David gave her a look. "I'd sooner turn vegan than grow tired of you."
Calli looked at him and started laughing. David got a glimpse of where her mind had gone with that one. She was picturing him trying to get blood for a celery stalk. He shook his head.
"You're really fucking strange, Calli."
"You have to admit that would be funny though," Calli laughed, moving with his fingers now. "All those poor vegetables!"
David rolled his eyes and snuck a finger inside her. Calli shut up instantly, riding a high from his touches. David felt her release and kept on going…
OOOOOOOOOOO
After an hour, Calli put her hand on top of his, stilling his movements. Her heart was racing. David lifted his gaze to her.
"I can't take anymore," she admitted, color flushing her cheeks. "If you go on, it may start to hurt."
David frowned, withdrawing his fingers. "Are you hurting now?"
Calli shook her head. "No."
"Calli…"
The witch closed her eyes. "Stop worrying about me so much, asshole."
David narrowed his eyes. "Then tell me things."
Calli sighed. "You're the only one that I want to be with tonight, David. And we're spoiling it by butting heads over almost anything."
"You only want me tonight?"
"Just you."
David put his arms around her and held her close. "I don't know why you would want to be with me."
"Because I love you. And that is enough reason to stay in your arms, no matter how much of an asshole you are." She hugged him. "And you're my favorite asshole, anyway."
David smiled and listened to her breathing even out slowly. He knew she had fallen asleep in his arms. David wouldn't disturb her or let anyone else do it either.
After all, she had chosen him like he pursued her…
OOOOOOOOOO
A/N: Fluff away. I love you all. -Scarlet
