Hi Readers: My apologies for starting fresh once more. However, it seems like I'm having a bit of trouble when it comes to what I want to write; but, I hope that this one works out better. Thanks again for reading, and I hope you enjoy this new story I'm writing.

Chapter One

HALSTEAD HEADQUARTERS, CHICAGO – December 5, 2017
He was gone for 2 days before all hell broke loose, which meant that the businessman had to cut his business trip short (by a day) so that he could come home; come home to the woman he loves this morning (rather than this afternoon), who clearly needed him here with her today. His wife, Alexandra Marie Halstead, needed him here today because she clearly was not telling him the truth about how she was doing on Monday when he left to go on his trip to Virginia. But, that's just his life sometimes. He has a crazy life, and he wouldn't trade it for the world; the life he's been living with his beautiful wife of six months, which is actually what today is. Today is their six-month wedding anniversary, which really makes him smile due to the fact that he loves his wife more than anything. But what he doesn't like to hear is that she's stressed out of her mind, which is why he made sure to come here to help her. But, with just what might that be? Well, it would be something she told him she had handled: her first major fundraiser as the head of their foundation.

And while he did hope to get here around this time, he knew it was much more like that he was going to arrive around 6:30; precisely thirty minutes prior to the Charity Gala his wife has been planning for months now. And god, was he proud of all the work she's done; but, he also knew the reality of it...his wife was very stressed as well due to the fact that she had high expectations for herself. Expectations which are related to him, and not wanting to let him down; especially not when he's just done so much for her...including allowing her to have free reign as the new Chairwoman and CEO of the family foundation; something she was very happy to be doing, though it did cut into their time together at times. Hell, it seems like for the past six months things have just been running in circles and it's like the two of them have barely seen each other; and if they did, then it would be for a couple days here and there. But, that didn't mean that they weren't still committed to each other. If anything, the time apart just makes Jay even more determined...

Determined to make his marriage to Alex work, due to the fact that he loves her more than anything; especially since she's his rock when it comes to the love and support she gives him when he's dealing with PTSD as he's a veteran. So, now, it was time for him to do the same with her; it was his turn to come support his wife and just get her to relax and take it easy. And that's why he was here now, at 11 in the morning, rather than arriving in mid-to-late afternoon. Here at the headquarters, where the Gala was going to be held Friday. A gala which he hopes to let his wife relax and just have fun at on Friday, as she clearly needs it more than anything; especially based on the way that she was yelling right now. "Greg! I told you. I want the lights to be shining on the silent auction items individually. One light for each item. You've had all the time in the world to work on this, now you only have a few hours to do it. What are we going to do?" Greg just looked at his boss as she asked him that. "Alex, I'm trying. You are just being so specific!"

Alex agreed. "What is so hard to understand! I want items to be showcased in a certain light. So, that means we just need a simple spotlight right on top of each item. And we need them on switches. This has been the plan for three months! I want to show off things in certain ways! I have the vision all here, written down and you can't follow orders." Taking a breath as he heard Alex say that, Jay just looked in the direction of her and his friend; while also waving to Greg as a way to tell him that he can leave for a bit. "Listen, I'm going to give you a minute to calm down. Then, we can revisit this." Face palming, Jay shook his head as that was the last thing that Greg could've said to his wife. "Excuse me!" Jay just shook his head when he heard Alex say that, while Greg turned to look at Jay. "You going to help me out here man? Or are you going to let her speak to me like that!" Looking at Greg, Alex was not pleased. "Excuse me, I'm your boss! You do my vision!" That's when Alex realized that Greg just spoke to someone, someone she didn't know was there.

So, she decided to ask him. "Wait, who are you talking to?" Jay then proceeded to speak up. "Mouse, go check the sound system for me? Make sure that it's already been tested so that we don't have a repeat of last year with the horrible microphone." Turning around when she heard her husband's voice, Alex was surprised. "Jay?" Nodding, Jay smiled as he made his way over to his wife so that he could hold her in his arms, which is clearly what she needs right now. After all, she's clearly quite stressed, which is the last thing he wants for his wife right now. He wants her to relax and just take it easy, as she tries to get this charity event set up. But right now, she can do that later; right now, she needs to take a minute and relax as she's clearly really stressed out right now (which is the last thing he wants for his wife). "What are you doing here? I thought you weren't supposed to get here until later." His wife said as he walked up to her, prior to wrapping his arms around her and just held her close to him this morning, while also leaning in and kissing her.

And god, does Alex love the sweet feeling of Jay's soft lips on hers, as it's precisely what she wants right now; while Jay also knows that it's also what she needs right now. She needs him to kiss her as they take things nice and slow with each other, due to the fact that it means that she can just relax as they both take it nice and easy with each other here in the event space they have at the office. After which, Jay placed his hand on his wife's neck and just smiled as he took things nice and slow with her once more; until he whispered to her. "Listen, how about me and you go sit down for a minute? I want to talk to you." Alex agreed with Jay as she wants to talk to him too. "Yeah, some of the staff here are hope..." Just looking at Alex, Jay shook his head. "Hey, not about that." Alex just looked at Jay as he told her that. After which, Jay just got close to his wife and wrapped his arms around her to get her to relax. "You need to relax babe. Just take a breath and take it easy. I already spoke to Emily and Travis." Alex sighed as she heard Jay say that.

Because if he already spoke to her best friend, then he knows what's been going on of late. And that means, he'll want to talk to her about everything she said to Emily and Travis in confidence. Then again, maybe this was a good thing. "Alex, you okay?" Snapping out of it, Alex looked at her husband and nodded as she was okay. "Yeah, I'm good." Jay just shook his head as he heard Alex say that, as he already knew that she wasn't okay; especially not when he already knows that she already sent her vision to the team and has been spending every single day of the past week getting ready for the event on Saturday. "When was the last time you went home and took a real shower?" Alex bit her lip as Jay asked her that question, well aware of what he was getting at. "Probably not as much as I should." Jay agreed with his wife as she told him that, well aware that was the case. "Listen, I know that this is not what you want me to say...but you need to take a breath and relax babe. Greg, Emily, Travis; they got this. And we still have three days." Alex agreed.

After all, the event isn't until Saturday; like he just said. "Alex, babe...I came home because you clearly need me right now. God, you look like you haven't sleep in a few days and you look like you just need to take it easy and relax right now. So, that's why I need you to hand over the clipboard." Looking down at the clipboard she has, Alex went to play with him and hugged it. "My clipboard." Jay sighed as he didn't want to play this game. "Alex, this isn't a game babe. You need to go home. We both do before Bobby gets into that nice, clean basket of laundry that I just folded when I got home. Babe, did you really not even have time to do that?" Alex sighed as she cuddled up to Jay and wrapped her arms around him. "Sorry, I guess..." Moving his hand to the back of Alex's head, Jay pressed his lips to her forehead and just smiled as he held his wife. "Don't apologize, just breathe. Listen, how about you go get your things upstairs? Pack it all up, we're going home; and we aren't coming back until the event as you clearly need to rest." Alex sighed.

After all, this was her big debut. "Jay, it's my..." Jay just looked at his wife. "You have an assistant and a best friend for a reason babe." Alex sighed. "I just want to make you proud and make sure you know that I meant it when I said I'd put my all to making the charity work to the best of it's abilities." Jay sighed when he heard Alex say that, clearly able to see now why Alex was working so hard: she was working so hard due to the fact that she was worried to fail him and let him down. So, he just got close and proceeded to hug her again; while Alex wrapped her arms around her loving husband's back, while he made a joke. "Oh. Yeah, I can tell you haven't showered in a couple days." Looking up at her husband as he said that, Alex was not pleased. "Excuse me?" Jay smiled as Alex said that, before placing her hands on his neck and leaning in to kiss her softly. "I'll see you upstairs in the penthouse. Today, you're going to rest. I already spoke to your assistant; she's going to take over." Alex looked at her husband and was about to argue.

However, she knew that what he was saying was the right thing for her to do. "Alex, I love you; I want what's best for you, and this is what's best for you. You just taking it easy and relaxing. Alex, you've barely been home, and that's not good; you need to rest and just take it easy." Alex agreed with her husband as he said that, before placing her hands on his face as she stepped close to him; after which, she leaned in and kissed the man of her dreams softly. The man who always knows precisely what she needs to hear, and when she needs to be with her husband. "Promise me that was your last business trip for the year; that bed is way too cold and lonely when I'm alone." Jay agreed with his wife, as he's done travelling away from the woman he loves. "I promise, I'm done leaving town when I'd much rather be here with the woman I love." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, well aware that was the case as she leaned in to kiss him again, which is when Emily Davis-Adams (Alex's best friend) interrupted them. "I hope I'm not interrupting."

Turning their heads to look at Emily, Jay and Alex both laughed as she was; though, Jay was glad that she interrupted as it allowed him to hug her. "Come here." Emily agreed with Jay as she walked over to him, prior to hugging her best friend's husband. "Thanks for calling me. I really appreciate you looking out for Alex." Letting Jay go, Emily proceeded to grab Alex's hand and smiled as she rubbed it. "That's what a best friend does for her sister. She looks out for her and makes sure that she gets what she needs. And right now, you need some time to relax and just take it easy away from the office. Anyways, Travis is starting to get annoyed by you always working too, because I always stay and help. So, you know how men are." Alex laughed as she heard Emily say that. "You guys going to try soon?" Emily laughed. "We're going to start trying when you're pregnant. Me and Travis agreed...you got married before us, you have a baby before us." Jay smirked as Emily said that, before getting close to Alex as he wrapped his arm around her nice and tight.

Placing his hand on her butt as she wore some skinny jeans and a nice top, Jay smirked as he leaned in and kissed her softly. "Then I think we need to start trying, because I just spoke to Travis recently...and he's ready." Emily was surprised to hear that. "He is?" Placing her hands on Jay's muscular chest, Alex looked into her husband's eyes; while he placed his hand on Alex's arm and nodded as Travis is ready to start a family. "Yeah, said that he's not getting any younger." Emily agreed with her boss as he said that. "Then Alex, you either get pregnant; or you let me get pregnant first." Alex looked at Emily as she said that. "Last time I checked, you're the one that wanted to wait." Emily agreed with Alex as she said that. "Well, then maybe I won't anymore. But, listen; I got this under control. Alex, you need to go get rest and take it easy. Why do you think I called your husband?" Alex smiled, as she appreciates what her best friend did for her. "Thanks bestie." Emily smiled as Alex said that. "You'd do the same for me and Travis." Alex agreed, as she would.

She'd gladly call Travis to tell him that Emily needs her, especially now that she owes Emily for getting her husband home to her earlier; something she really appreciated as she wrapped her arms around his neck and just cuddled up to him, while he ran his hand up and down her back as they both held each other close here in the conference room. "Listen, I want to go say hi to my brother and let him know that I'm home, but not home if that makes sense." Alex agreed with her husband as he said that. "Can't take too long, we have Bobby to worry about." Jay shook his head. "I have the pen set up outside, and the dog door is unlocked. Bobby is fine." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, smiling as she loves her husband so much; especially since he knows her so well. So, she stepped close to him, placed her hands on his muscular chest and leaned in to kiss him softly. "I missed you, and I'm happy to have my husband home." Jay agreed with his wife. "Alex, why didn't you call me?" Alex sighed. "I just felt pressure to do this by myself, to not disappoint you."

Jay nodded, while also stepping close to her once more and kissing her softly. "Can we talk at home?" Placing her hands on Jay's face, Alex agreed with her husband as she leaned in and took things slow with him. "I like that idea." Jay smiled. "Listen, let me just go say hi to my brother. Then, we can get out of here and you can get the rest you need." Alex smiled. "Will I be getting my husband in bed with me?" Jay smiled, nodding as she most certainly will. "Oh, you bet you will. I mean, I missed my wife more than anything; do you really think I don't want to have you in my arms as soon as I can?" Alex smiled as she heard Jay tell her that, prior to grabbing his hand and intertwining their fingers; meanwhile, Jay started to walk away with her so that they could go speak to his brother for a moment.

FLOOR 9: CASEY-HALSTEAD MENTAL HEALTH GROUP OFFICES
OFFICE OF DR. WILLIAM HALSTEAD, MD
– He was in the middle of a meeting with video conference conversation with his partner at Casey, the other major family business here in the Chicago area, which is led by Mr. Matthew Casey, a fellow CEO with PTSD from his time as a firefighter (just like his brother). And that's precisely why they agreed (regardless of the fact that they're competitors in the apparel sector) to join forces and provide as many resources as they can by working together. "So, I was wondering if we could meet a bit on the side of the charity event. Wait, are you and Gabby going to be joining us at the event?" Matt laughed as the doctor asked him whether he and his wife will be at the charity event. "Are you kidding me? You're auctioning off tickets to meet Patrick Kane and Johnathan Toews, along with your box for a game at the United Center. Hell yeah, I'm coming to bid on that!" Will laughed, well aware that he's a huge Blackhawks fan. "Don't you have tickets of your own?" Matt sighed. "I let them lapse when we had the twins."

Will laughed. "Tell me about it. You and Gabby got pregnant right after you got married last December. By the way, happy anniversary. It's tomorrow, right?" Matt agreed. "Yes, which is why we're coming to the charity gala. I'm taking her out this weekend since the in-laws are watching the boys. Friday-Monday is mommy-daddy time at our place in Northfield." Will laughed as he heard his long-time friend (who he met when he, his fiancé, and Matt's late ex-fiancé Hallie Thomas were all in medical school together. "You guys going to try for a daughter?" Matt was shocked, as was his wife, who was sitting in bed next to him. "WILL! I JUST GAVE BIRTH TO THE BOYS TWO MONTHS AGO! If you want any chance at the Blackhawks tickets, then shut your pie hole before I go ahead and tell my husband he has an unlimited budget when it comes to the silent auction." Hearing Gabby say that as he walked into his brother's office, Jay smirked. "I'd really like it if you went ahead and continued to let him bid for as long as he can. The money would do great."

Matt agreed with Jay as he said that. "Tell me about it. See Gabby, Jay agrees with me!" Gabby just laughed as she heard her husband say that. "Hi Jay, Alex there with you?" Alex agreed. "Yeah. Would love to talk to you when I get a chance Gabby. We need to talk about when we're going to launch the Puerto Rico initiatives that we want to work together on." Gabby agreed with Alex, as she was just thinking the same thing. "And we need to figure out when we're going to get away for Stella's Bachelorette Party in Hawaii next year!" Alex agreed. "God, tell me about it. But listen, we're actually here because I need to talk to my brother-in-law for a second. Right after he says hi to Jay." Will then realized that. "Right." Getting up out of his chair, Will smiled as he made his way over to his brother. "Hey, how was the trip?" Jay smiled. "Good. Listen, I just wanted to let you know I've decided that I am going to leave early today; take Alex home and take it easy. She's been stressed lately." Will agreed. "Let me guess, Natalie finally called you?"

Jay was shocked. "Natalie was going to call? God, she called AFTER Emily and Travis. God, you really need to call first since you guys are doctors." Will agreed with Jay as he said that, as they most certainly should've called earlier. "Yeah, that makes sense. But, if you want to go home together, then go ahead and just relax." Jay agreed, as that's precisely what the two of them plan on doing. They're going to get away and just relax at home. Well, maybe not just relax; at least, that's what he was thinking. However, under no circumstances was Jay going to tell Will that. "Yeah, that's precisely what we're going to do." Alex laughed as she heard Jay say that, before cuddling up to him and placing her hand on the back of his head as she cuddled up to him and held him close. After which, she kissed him and smiled as she's very happy. "Listen, how about you guys get out of here? Me, Matt, and Gabby were just talking about how we can include the initiatives at the charity gala. We want a booth there." Alex agreed with Will. "You're getting one right by the entrance."

Will smiled as he agreed with Alex. "Your wife is really smart Jay." Alex laughed. "Will, all of the Halstead stuff gets to be right by the entrance; where people aren't going to be drunk when they see them." Will thought about it and agreed with Alex. "Yeah, that makes sense." Alex smiled as she agreed with Will, before walking over to him and hugging him. "Oh, can you please tell Natalie to send us Owen's Christmas list? I need to know what I want to buy for him." Will agreed with Alex as she said that, as she's such a great aunt. "Such a great aunt." Alex agreed. "And future bridesmaid! For crying out loud, will you please set a date for your wedding!" Will laughed when Alex said that. "Can you please calm down and just take it easy? We both know that you aren't ready to plan ANOTHER wedding yet when you haven't even been married for 6 months." Jay looked at Will when he said that. "It's actually 6 months as of tomorrow." Will looked at Jay as he said that. "So, that's why we rescheduled to Saturday." Jay agreed with his brother.

While, at the same time, he also looked at Alex. "And why I'm home. I want to be home with my gorgeous wife as we celebrate six months of marriage." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, smiling as she's more than ready to celebrate six months of marriage with the man she loves. "C'mon, let's get out of here then." Jay agreed with Alex. "Will, you're in charge while I'm gone. Please only contact me if you need me. So, please don't need me. I want to be a father before you are." Will laughed. "Technically, I'm going to be a father the moment I marry Natalie." Jay agreed with Will. "Precisely why I want to be a father before you get married!" Alex agreed with her husband. "Then maybe we should stop coming to the office and work from home for a while." Smirking, Jay agreed with Alex as he loves the way she thinks. "I love the way you think Ms. Halstead." Alex smirked as she agreed with Jay, before kissing him softly. "I'm going to get my things in the office; then, we can get out of here." Jay agreed with his wife, smiling as he let her go walk away.

Meanwhile, he turned to look at his brother who seemed to be quite disgusted. "Oh, shut up. You were that way when you got engaged to Natalie!" Will agreed, as that was fair. "So, how did the trip to New York go?" Jay rolled his eyes. "First of all, it was Virginia." Will agreed. "Sorry, a lot's been going on. By the way, your wife is a great cook!" Jay smirked and agreed. "That she is." That's when he realized something, she's never cooked for Will yet. "When did you guys eat together?" Will smiled. "She came over to our place last night. We had supper since she didn't want to be alone for supper. Says she missed you, while I just laughed since you were only gone for a couple days." Jay sighed. "Will, she's been frustrated over the charity thing and has been feeling the pressure." Will agreed. "Makes sense, I already told her that I want it done properly." Jay just looked at his brother as he said that, while also not being happy. "Seriously? You're the one that put pressure on my wife!" Will bit his lip. "God, you're an idiot."

Turning around, Jay proceeded to walk away so that he could make his way to his and Alex's office; that way, he can talk to her and apologize on behalf of his brother, who should've never put that pressure on her in the first place. Meanwhile, Will just felt like an idiot as he knew that he screwed things up big time with his brother and sister-in-law...the last people he should've ever messed with.

FLOOR 10: HALSTEAD SENIOR EXECUTIVE OFFICES
OFFICE OF MR. JAY & MS. ALEXANDRA HALSTEAD
– Walking past their PA, Alex smiled as she looked at Britney Jones as she prepared to pack up their things for the day; but first, she decided that she was going to tell their PA that they were leaving. After all, she had to know that they were going to be working from home for a bit. "Britney?" Turning her head to look up at her boss, Britney smiled. "Yes, Ms. Halstead?" Alex smiled. "I just wanted to let you know that me and Jay are going to be working from home for the rest of the month. Please forward our calls to our mobile phones, rather than our extensions here at the office." Britney smiled as she heard Alex say that. "Let me guess, he just called to tell you that he's cutting his trip short and you're meeting him at home?" Walking up to Alex and Britney, Jay decided to answer her question for her. "Actually, I'm right here." Turning her head, Britney smiled at her boss. "Welcome home Mr. Halstead." Jay agreed as he turned to look at his wife. "It's nice to be home, where I'm needed."

Alex smiled as she heard Jay say that, as he most certainly is needed here. "Did Alex already inform you about our plans?" Britney agreed, as she just did. "Of course, she did sir." Jay smiled. "However, not for the rest of the day, nor tomorrow please. Me and Alex are going to take a bit of time together. She's been under some stress lately, and I would appreciate it if we got some time to rest and take it easy today and tomorrow as we celebrate six months of marriage. Oh, and please try and not disturb Mr. and Ms. Casey, our partners in the Casey-Halstead Mental Health Group. They are going to celebrate their first anniversary." Britney agreed with her boss as he said that. "Of course, Mr. Halstead." Jay agreed with Britney and smiled as he looked at her, prior to going to walk into his and Alex's office so that he could speak to his wife for a moment; especially as she stood at the couch they have in their office, which prompted him to lock the door to their office behind him so that they could have a moment before they go home together.

After all, that's where his wife needs to be right now; she needs to be at home, where she can take it easy and just relax right now. And that's precisely where they're headed, just as soon as he finishes talking to her about what his brother just told him. "Here, how about you let me sit down? I want to talk to you about something before we head home. Maybe then, we can leave it at the office." Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, before getting up and smirking as he made his way up to her; after which, she placed her hands on his toned chest. Meanwhile, Jay placed his hands on her arms and smiled as he leaned in and took things nice and slow with the woman he loves. "I love you." Alex agreed, as she loves her husband too. "I love you too, and I'm really happy you're home." Jay agreed with his wife, as he felt the same way. "I feel the same way, I'm very happy to be home..." Looking at the couch, Jay decided to walk over to it so that they could sit down together. "...especially since I've been missing my wife." Alex smiled as she agreed with her husband.

Meanwhile, she also followed him towards the couch they have in his office where they're going to sit for a moment; just as soon as Jay sits down first, which is precisely what he did. "Now, that's a sight I like." Jay agreed with his gorgeous wife as he sat down and got comfortable, while she moved to sit in his lap and cuddle up to him, while also wrapping her arms around him as he placed his hand on her leg. Turning his head, Jay pressed his lips to her forehead and just took a breath as he proceeded to tell his wife what he knows. "I'm sorry for what Will said to you Alex." Turning her head, Alex sighed as she looked at Jay. "Yeah, not here." Jay agreed with his wife, as she clearly wanted to do it alone rather than here at the office. "You want to do it at home, rather than here at the office?" Alex agreed. "Do you mind?" Jay shook his head, as he doesn't mind at all. "Not at all." Placing his hand on her neck, Jay smiled as he leaned in and took things slow with his wife. "Let's pack up, then we can go home and just take it easy as we talk about this."

Alex agreed with her loving husband as she placed her hand on his face, prior to leaning in and kissing him softly. "I love the sound of that." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that and just smiled, more than ready to just take it easy and relax with his wife when they're home; but first, they had to pack up. So, Alex got up out of his lap and went to grab her things so that they could go home together.

HALSTEAD HEADQUARTERS PARKING GARAGE – Like the true gentleman her husband is, Jay made sure that Alex didn't carry any of her things the entire time they made their way downstairs from the ninth floor to the parking garage; where they luckily only had one car that they needed to take home due to the fact that he already had his chauffeur take the car he left at the garage home. Though, Alex didn't know that yet as she walked hand-in-hand (with her and Jay's fingers intertwined) towards their parking spots. "So, I'm going to see you at home?" Jay laughed when Alex said that, before deciding to stop and turn to face his wife this afternoon. And as he got close to her, he couldn't help but smirk. "Now, why in the world would you ever think that you and I would drive home separately?" Alex looked at her husband as he said that. "Because we have both of our cars here?" Jay shook his head as he stepped close to Alex and let go of her hand, only to move his hand to her neck as he smiled at her. "I got a ride here with the chauffeur."

Alex agreed with Jay as he said that, as that made sense; after all, he did take Gerry (his private chauffeur) with him to Virginia. "Then, where is Gerry?" Jay smiled. "I sent him home with the car, as I decided that I wanted to do something a bit…impulsive for us." Alex smiled as Jay said that. "I want to drive my wife home, rather than have another man drive my wife home. Something a normal couple would do." Alex agreed with Jay once more, as that most certainly is something a normal couple would do; not that they aren't a normal couple, they just live very differently than a normal married couple. "And, I wanted to make sure that my wife actually makes it home with me the first time around." Alex sighed, as she had a feeling that was the real reason why Jay was going to insist on driving her home. And as she followed him towards their vehicle, Alex decided not to say anything about it; though, Jay did. "Let me guess, you don't like that idea?" Alex looked at her husband as he asked her that question. "Just doesn't make me feel like you trust me."

Jay nodded, well aware that was the case. I mean, how else is she supposed to interpret the fact that her husband is requiring that she's the passenger in their vehicle; when he definitely should be able to trust her to go home. However, there was just something in him that felt like he needed to do this for her right now; something he knew he was going to have to explain to her, which is why he decided to do it on the way to their car. "Alex, it's not that don't trust you; it's just something for my own sake." Looking at Alex as he held her close to him, Jay brought her hand up to his lips prior to kissing him as they walked towards their parking spot; only to finally arrive where they always park. After which, he turned around to face his wife as he let go of her hand and walked over to the back door of their car. After which, he reached into the pocket of his jacket; only to grab his keys to unlock their car. "And what would that be about? Jay, I can see that you want to tell me something and I don't want you to hide things from me." Jay agreed.

After all, their marriage is based on honesty; and if he hid the real reason why he really wants to drive her home: for her safety. That was what he was really worried about, and he was going to tell her that right now; especially since he finally set all of their bags down in the backseat of their car, while also leaning against it as he reached out for her. "Come here you." Alex agreed with her husband as he asked her to walk over to him, before doing just that for him. She walked over to the man she loves, so that they could take a minute to speak to each other prior to the both of them leaving so that they could go home with each other; where they both desperately want to be. And now that she was close to Jay, Alex let out a smile because he always makes her happy; just being close to the man she loves (and missed dearly) made her happy. But not as happy as when he wraps his arm around her waist and places his other hand on the back of her head, which is precisely what Jay just did; he moved his hand to the back of her head and kissed her.

And damn, did Alex really miss the feeling of his soft lips on hers; regardless of the fact that he was only gone for two days. "God, it may have just been two days, but it was two days too many when you give me kisses like those." Wrapping his arms around his wife more, Jay smirked as he placed his hands on her butt as he bent down and took things nice and slow with the woman he loves. "God, I love you so much." Alex agreed with her husband, as she loves him too. "I love you too, especially when you're home with me. However, that doesn't mean that I'm not going to hold you to giving me the answers I want to get from you. Jay, what are you talking about? What are you hiding when it comes to you wanting to drive me home?" Jay sighed as he looked at Alex. "Alex, you know I've spoken to my brother multiple times while I was gone. And he told me that you stay here, even when you walk out with him at the end of the night. I love you, but you really think I can trust you when my brother tells me that?" Alex sighed as she looked down.

After all, that makes a lot of sense; how could her husband trust her to go home at the same time as her, when she hasn't been doing it when his brother leaves. "I guess…it's because I don't like going home when you aren't there." Looking into his wife's eyes, Jay was confused as he had no idea what she was talking about. "Hey, what are you talking about Alex? Talk to me." Alex sighed as she looked up into Jay's eyes. "The house is lonely when you aren't there, so is our bed. It just feels unnatural to be there, when you aren't there." Jay sighed as he agreed with his wife, feeling horrible that she had to go home to that while he was going. So, he just wrapped his arms around her and held her close as his way to make her feel better; something Alex truly appreciated as she wrapped her arms around Jay. "How was your flight?" Jay smiled as he looked down at his wife. "Considering I was coming home to you; it was long and I was counting down the seconds until I got home to you." Alex agreed, as she felt the same way the entire time he was gone.

Something she decided to tell her husband here, rather than wait to tell him at home. "I was doing the same thing the entire time you were gone. Counting down the minutes until I got my husband back in my arms." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, before bending down and kissing her softly, which led to Alex placing her hands on his toned chest as they took things nice and slow with each other, which is what they both want and need to do right now. They need to share a kiss due to the fact that they've missed each other so much. "I missed you too Alex. However, it seems like me and you really need to talk about how things go forward." Alex agreed with her husband, as that is something they need to talk about. "Yeah, I want to talk about that. I know it's something we need to figure out together, and I hope we can do it in a way that doesn't affect how you do business." Looking at Alex as she said that, Jay shook his head as that was the last thing he wanted his wife to worry about; not when he made vows to put her first.

Something she knows all too well due to the fact that they both made the same vows to each other when they got married. "Alex, hey. We both know that's the last thing I want you to worry about. Please, be honest with me babe, is that really something you worry about? You don't want our marriage to affect the way I do business?" Grabbing her husband's blazer, Alex took a breath as she hated that this is where they were having this conversation: in the parking garage at the office. "Jay, this isn't the place. We're in a parking garage right now and you just flew home. You must be tired and want to go home." Placing his hand on his wife's neck, Jay just looked into her eyes as he stroked her cheek. "Can we talk about it on the way home with each other? That way, we can go home while we talk. Alex, that's a big thing that we need to talk about babe; after all, that's a serious topic for us. You know that anything related to our marriage is something I always want to talk about right away, because of how much I love and cherish you." Alex agreed.

After all, she's well aware of just how much her husband loves and cherishes her. "I know you do, which is why I understand that we need to talk about that." Jay agreed with Alex as he grabbed the back of her head and brought her body close to him, prior to bending down and kissing her softly; while also wrapping his arm around her waist, as a way to make sure that his gorgeous wife just stays close to him and takes it nice and easy with him. And damn, was that a real turn on; while also being precisely what Alex needs, as she's missed her husband. "God, I've missed you." Jay agreed with his wife as he wrapped his arms around her, while just taking things nice and slow with the woman he loves and adores more than anything in the entire world. "Listen, I don't want to be here all day…when we'd much rather be aet home with each other, holding each other close as we just take it easy and relax with each other." Alex smirked as Jay said that, as she thought he was using the word relax in a sexual term. "Yes, we do need to relax together."

Jay sighed, as he was well aware that she was thinking in another way. "No, I mean it when I say that we need to relax. Alex, you've been overdoing it. God, had I known you were doing it due to the fact that you missed me…then I would've been here instead right before the fundraiser." Alex sighed, as that was something she wasn't going to mention yet. "Yeah, I wasn't going to mention that yet." Hearing Alex say that, Jay just knew that this had something to do with the fact that he wasn't here…and he very well could've missed the event. "Hey, look at me and talk to me. What's going on in that gorgeous, brilliant head of yours Alex?" Alex sighed as she looked into Jay's eyes, well aware that she just needs to rip the band-aid off and tell him what was on her mind right now. "Can we talk about it another time?" Jay just looked at Alex, well aware that she just didn't want to talk about it right here at the office, when she'd much rather save it for when they're at home with each other. So, that's precisely what they're going to do: talk about it at home.
