No One's POV

The guild hall of Fairy Tail was rowdy and rambunctious, Natsu and Grey had already begun to fight, and Lucy had a difficult time hearing what Erza or Mirajane were saying to her as they introduced themselves to her and pointed out various members, several which had already joined in on the wrestling that seemed all too common for the guild.

Suddenly, the doors flew open once more, a lone figure stepping inside momentarily, causing the chaos and momentum of the room to halt as people looked towards it.

"Is that Eleanor? Is that Ellie?" Whispers begin to start, then grow, as people begun to notice the familiar figure stroll in, her hood dropping to reveal a slim brunette with petite facial structure, and confident poise stroll in.

"Who's that?"

"Eleanor, she's an S-class. She's been gone for several months with another S-class from our guild, Mystogan." Erza answers. "Eleanor!" She calls out to the older girl.

"Hello Erza, good to see you." She smiles, turning to walk over to Erza and Mirajane as they sit at the bar chatting to Lucy. "A new member?"

"Hi," Lucy looks nervous. "I'm Lucy."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Lucy. I am Eleanor." She smiles, offering her hand. "Mira, I'm heading up." She offers, tilting her head towards the stairs to the left of the bar. "He's up there, right?"

"Yes, I'll be up in a minute with your order."

"Thanks. I don't mean to be rude. I just gotta say hi to someone. Or they get a bit grumpy." Eleanor giggles slightly, before waving to the girls and jogging up the stairs.

"Who is she talking about?" Lucy wonders out loud.

"Laxus," Erza slightly tilts her head to the rather stern faced, arrogant looking male who had been standing at the balcony ever since the doors had opened, observing with a carefully crafted look of distain and disregard, though his eyes had tracked Eleanor's moves ever since she had entered the guild hall.

"Who?"

"Laxus Dreyar, he is Master's grandson. Also, an S-class, lightning mage. He and Eleanor have been friends since childhood." Erza answers Lucy.

"Locky," Eleanor smiles, calling Laxus the nickname she had given him when they were 11 and 12, him giving her a slightly irritated look as he pushes himself off the railing to face her, though it wasn't true irritation.

"Ellie," He gruffs out, only to have her launch herself at him, his arms immediately coming to catch her body weight as she barrels into him.

"How have you been?" He questions, his face buried up against her neck, breathing deeply, only to feel irritation tick in his mind at the scent of Mystogan all over his mate; dragons after all, were deeply territorial creatures, and he was no exception despite being a second-generation Dragon Slayer.

"Good. The mission was long. Nothing that Mys-" She is cut off by a slight growl against her throat. "Mystogan and I couldn't handle…. I will never understand your dislike for him." She says, pulling back to look at him with a fond sigh, pushing a lock of hair out of his face. "You two used to get along."

"I just don't," Laxus says, much like a child who hadn't gotten his way.

"Fine, whatever." She rolls her eyes, used to his rather prickly nature by now, jumping down from him, Laxus' hands immediately releasing her hips, only to assist her in sitting down at the familiar table they always had a meal together at when she returned from a mission; Laxus was known for his temper, arrogance, and his lack of social interactions with the rest of the guild, however, those rules could never truly apply to Eleanor, she had long since wiggled under his armor, even if she did not know it.

"How long are you home for?" He questions, already mentally preparing himself for Eleanor to leave in a few days' time; it was one of the many reasons he preferred isolation, and preferred taking jobs so often, so that he could keep himself distracted from thoughts of her with Mystogan.

"Mystogan wants to head out pretty soon. You know him, he never stays for long." She answers. "But I'm going to hang back this time. Maybe we could take some jobs together? If you're free? Unless you and the Thunder Legion are preparing for a job."

"No," Laxus answers, hating how much relief he felt at her words. "I am free. The Thunder Legion can always do without me for a mission or two."

"Okay," Eleanor smiles.

"Where are you going?" Laxus moves to stand as Eleanor stands up from the table; despite what people may think, he was taught manners and how to treat a woman right, it was just rare he found anyone he believed was worth his time.

"Shopping, need some more clothes. Plus, I earned a lot from this last job. Thought I may spoil myself a bit." She smiles again with a shrug.

"You're going to need someone to carry your bags," Laxus rolls his eyes as he begins to follow her down the stairs.

"And that's gonna be you?" She retorts back.

"May as well," Laxus bickers back.

"Fine, well I don't plan on just shopping for a few hours," She warns playfully, tilting her head to look up at him.

"When do you ever?" He rolls his eyes again, his jacked thrown casually over his shoulder as he tucks his arm around her shoulders, bringing her into his side, as if she had always belonged there.

"You're the one that will be carrying my bags."

"I always do!" He rolls his eyes again, but they crinkle slightly around the edges in playfulness, as they walk out of the guild hall and into the street.

"Why is everyone staring?" Lucy questions Mirajane, the commotion and low hum of the guild slowly building back up.

"It's rare to see Laxus like that," Mirajane says softly. "He doesn't like any of the rest of us. Just Eleanor and the Thunder Legion. He has changed a lot." She sighs. "He didn't used to be like that. It's nice to see how he used to be. But it always shocks people to see."
