The stars glittered and shined in the full moon sky as an unknown person walked down the sidewalk along a long row of trailer homes.
He was a boy just eighteen years old, he was wearing a black sweater and a grey pair of sweatpants and a pair of white Walmart runners.
He turned towards a grey trailer house and made his way towards the gate fence, he latched open the tall wooden gate fence and walked through.
his father had built the fence to keep their dog in but now that the dog was gone it just stood there having fulfilled its purpose. The boy continued towards the stairs that lead to the door of his home and walked up to the door, took out his keys, unlocked the door and went inside the house.
He took off his shoes and placed them off to the side, he them continued into the kitchen, placed his keys on the table and took off his sweater revealing a black shirt with the image of a stickman playing the drums along with the phase "if it's too loud, then your to old" the boy then placed his removed sweater onto a kitchen chair and then removed his phone with earphones wrapped around it and his wallet and placed them on the table and then he headed towards the fridge.
Upon opening the fridge a railing on the door of the fridge that held condiments like ketchup and mustard, fell off bringing with it some of the items it was holding to the door. "fuckin plastic" the boy said as he grabbed the railing and put it back on the fridge door and then placed the condiment's that fell back into their slots and made sure the railing would not fall again, well at least for awhile, after he was done he grabbed some white bread, butter, cheese slices and some slices of ham, he then made himself a sandwich and put it on a plate, he then placed the rest of the ingredients back into the fridge, grabbed his phone and headed towards his room.
Once reaching his room he placed his sandwich on the bed stand then went and grabbed his Tv remote and a PS4 controller. He pressed the power button on the TV remote and the PS button on the PS4 controller, turning on both the TV and the PS4.
Once he did that he placed the TV remote on the bed stand, beside the sandwich and then laid down on his bed using the PS4 controller to select the YouTube app on his console. "I haven't watched the first episode of RWBY in awhile" he said as he searched up Rwby episode 1 in the search bar and then pressing search some videos popped up along with the one he wanted. He selected the episode and let the episode playout as he went and grabbed his sandwich.
the image of a tower quickly fades in as the POV quickly moves up the tower, "Legends. scattered through time" the voice of a woman speaks. Upon reaching the top there are five green orbs hanging from the ceiling of one of the tower rooms. "mankind has grown quite fond of recounting the exploits of heroes and villains, forgetting so easily that we are remnants, byproducts, of a forgotten past"
The orbs glow green and then the glow grows into a bright white light, then the white light fades to show the lower half of the screen to be a curved black ground with what appears to be small pieces of dust floating upwards in the foreground, then a large cloud of smoke appears on the ground and then a man raises up from the cloud. "Man, born from dust, was strong, wise, and resourceful, but he was born into an unforgiving world. An inevitable darkness"
As the woman continues to speak more clouds of smoke appear on the right and left of the man, and from out of those clouds of smoke, both seem to spawn a boar, a giant snake and a werewolf-like creature, one from each side. "creatures of destruction" the woman pauses for a second "the creatures of Grimm, set their sights on man and all of his creations, These forces clashed". These ""creatures of Grimm"" then move away from the man as two more men with swords appear on each side of the first man, then the smoke clouds that still remained with the creatures of Grimm then enveloped them and the now three men, turning the screen black.
"and it seemed the darkness was intent on returning man's brief existence to the void." the woman continued on, "However, even the smallest spark of hope is enough to ignite change, and in time, man's passion, resourcefulness, and ingenuity led them to the tools that would help even the odds" the woman says as a small bright light in the middle of the black screen appears and pluses and then its light fills the entire screen, then the light lessens and what appears to be a gem rises up from the bottom of the screen as the background turns dark once again. "This power was appropriately named "Dust".
The gem then falls until it stops above three people holding their hands upwards and outstretched, "Nature's wrath in hand, man lit their way through the darkness, and in the shadow's absence came strength, civilization, and most importantly, life."
the three people and the gem disappear as the POV zooms out revealing two people that seem to be shooting lightning out of there hands at the creatures of Grimm from earlier, and as the woman continues to speak more people appear with the two other people that are shooting lightning out of their hands, two more people with swords appear, then after them two more people appear though these people seem to be holding rifles.
after these people appear a large castle pops up behind them, then the people and the Grimm vanish leaving just the castle in a dark void, then that dark void turns into what appears to be a land mass, then the POV zooms out more to show a map with three more castles scattered around it. "But even the most brilliant lights eventually flicker and die" the castles then flicker for a split second and disappear, the map then lowers and disappears off screen leaving a pure black screen, and then a shattered moon fades in, along with normal clouds and two buildings on both sides of the screen. "And when they are gone"
The woman pauses as the POV lowers towards the streets revealing that there are clothes hanging from string attached to the buildings and once reaching the street, a man with bright orange hair and green eyes, wearing a white suit jacket with a light grey ascot, along with some black pants and a black bowler hat with a red band, is walking down the street with a cane in his hand through it appears he does not need it because he is walking just fine, but following close behind him are four other men all dressed alike, wearing black suits with red ties and red sunglasses, even though it is the middle of the night, and black hats also with red bands like the hat of the man with the cane. "darkness will return." the woman continues.
The man with the cane stops for a second to take a puff of a cigar he is smoking and then he grins a little bit as he then starts to walk again.
The POV then changes to the man with the cane and the four other men following him, walking down a larger street with people who are just all black gasping as he and the other four walk past them. Then the woman continues to speak " so you may prepare your guardians, build your monuments to a so-called "free world", but take heed... there will be no victory in strength"
The POV changes to the back of the group of five people to show that they are walking towards a shop labelled "From Dust Till Dawn ''.
As they enter the shop the POV changes to the inside of it, with the camera angle being from the ceiling of the shop, and as the five men enter the shop the camera lowers to reveals a girl wearing a red cloak with a hood reading a magazine the says WEAPONS on the front, and then the voice of a man speaks "But perhaps victory is in the simpler things that you've long forgotten. Things that require a smaller, more honest soul."
As the video reaches that point the eighteen year old boy then goes to take the first bite out of his sandwich due to him being distracted by the video but right before he goes to take that bite, the sandwich falls.
It hits the blanket covering the bed, some crumbs of the bread scattering slightly across it, and the top slice of bread becomes slightly ascue on the sandwich.
One would think that the boy would pick the sandwich up and clean the mess it had made. You would probably be right.
But sadly the boy, who was once holding the small meal, was gone.
The video of that first episode played on as the rest of the room stood still.
