A/N No one has mentioned it, but I wanted to explain where my depiction of Janus the scientist comes from. In the episode where Dr. Weir time travels, he does act flirty. The other part, the parties that turn into orgies is a joke based off of something Daniel Jackson said in the episode where he and McKay find the Attero Device. Daniel says they found a reference to a secret lab of Janus' in the diary of 'one' of his 'many' lovers.

A/N The Janus gate is a real thing, it's part of the Temple of Janus. It exists in Rome and historically, it was closed in times of peace and open in times of war.

A/N Dagan's name was actually changed after the Alterans left Pegasus. For the purposes of my story, I tied them to the Monks of Dagan, keepers of the Key, so in this au, the planet was always named Dagan.

"The first address on the paper old Dr Weir had is to a planet called Dagon." Jon told Alexander.

"Oh, please tell me you're kidding." Alexander moaned.

"Problem?" Jon asked.

"We think some of the people from that planet returned with ours to Earth. They were known for various religious orders. Including ones dedicated to worshipping Alterans. Asking them not to worship us, never got us anywhere. The Quindosium was a big one."

"Your people work so hard not be worshiped and yet you get worship. That fits the definition of irony." Sheppard said cheerfully.

"Might be a good idea if you go along with AG 1 just in case they still worship Alterans." Jon suggested.

"What good would that do? I don't want to be worshiped."

"It might smooth things out if they know there's an actual Alteran around."

"Fine, I go under protest and if they try to worship me, I'll threaten to shoot them. That should get them to stop."

"No shooting."

"Damn, you won't let me have any fun. Fine, I promise no shooting unless the Wraith show up."

"Acceptable terms."

A couple hours later.

"It's not funny!"

"Yes it is!"

"What is or is not funny?" Jon asked.

"The Quindosium died out years ago, culled by the Wraith. Then it got restarted. And they believe their ancestors where charged with protecting a Potentia. Did you know Sheppard is Mensa? Math genius. I proved I'm Alteran and he solved a math puzzle. We have a full Potentia. We can plug it into Atlantis' power matrix and the partial one can be moved to the Altimah. The nearly empty one can be a reserve."

"Still not hearing the funny part."

"They wanted to worship him. When he protested they asked if they'd done something wrong and why didn't he want their worship. He explained because he wasn't a god, he's a man. Then they wanted to be rewarded for protecting the Potentia. We offered to help defend them if the Wraith come calling again. Apparently they had their own ideas of what the reward should be."

"Everything from being allowed to view the 'Holy city of Atlantis ' to marriage."

"Marriage?" Jon started laughing. "Wait, you didn't actually tell them we're occupying Atlantis, did you?"

"Of course not, but I did tell them I grew up here 10,000 years ago, along with my wife."

"The wife part didn't go over too well."

"It does with me."

A week later.

"Allyson, we were wondering if you'd come off world with us. One of those addresses old Dr. Weir had led to a planet where the Potentia is being used to power a protection grid." Alexander said.

"So why do you want me to go with you?"

"To see if you can make the protection grid bigger. The planet is mostly kids. Because of the small area of protection, they commit ritual suicide at age twenty four. Keeps their numbers down and the kids safe. But if you can make the protection grid bigger, they won't need to kill themselves."

"I'll get my stuff and I'll see what I can do."

A couple of hours later.

"You did good, Allyson, the protection grid is huge and we managed to convince them they don't need to kill themselves anymore."

"And if anything happens to the grid, we'll be here to help them. A good day."

Not long after that.

"The Prometheus is expected to be here in a week. We need to decide what all we're sending back with them." Jon said.

"The information on climate change and terraforming, I promised that to Carter. And the information on cloning, I promised that to Hermiod."

"Good, I'll add it in with our reports. We have only been here a few months, but we have found quite abit of useful information."

"But nothing yet that helps with the Gou'ald or the Wraith."

"We'll find something. The scientists have been busy little bees since we got here. Sooner or later, they'll find something."

"I was thinking, for anyone who hasn't requested to go back and that's 99% of the expedition, we should send personal messages ."

"That's an excellent idea. Dr Weir doesn't have anyone to negotiate with right now. She can over see that."

"I'll let her know."
