A.N. — I've moved back to an evening (Central time) posting window with no complaints (no feedback at all, actually), so I think I'll stay around dinner time for new chapters from here on out. Speaking of thriving in the dark... mushrooms! As tempting as it was to do a "shroomtastic" write full of word play, I'd rather explore this character's nature. Happy birthday Shemage!

336. Kinoko Komori/Shemage

She could spore mushrooms in any humid environment - including someone's throat and lungs - yet Kinoko never got called a villain. The short girl in frilly clothes was too unassuming to possibly be a danger... something she readily took advantage of. Kinoko's potency was disguised behind gothic lolita fashion and her love of idol culture, leaving Kinoko free to indulge her playful gremlin side via pun-laden speech and her quirky quirk.

Kinoko's main issue was mustering the pluck to unleash herself to the fullest extent. Her shyness festered much like a fungus, thriving in the dark places in Kinoko's mind.
