Virtue and Venom: Chapter 33
Suna at night: Kazekage office
Gaara and Hinata were both having another late night of paper work in the Kazekage office; Gaara was constantly frustrated by the never-ending flow of paperwork but with Hinata it was a lot more bearable. Hinata was quietly humming while she filed and stamped paperwork and Gaara looked at her.
"Ok another done" Hinata said to herself as she filed it "only 19 more" she said before she began to read the next piece of paper.
Gaara was looking at her 'her organization skills are quite exceptional' he thought as he looked back down at his paperwork 'if I knew this was going to be my fate as Kazekage I would've just stayed in Konoha' he thought with a sigh. Hinata hearing his sigh looked at him.
"Are you ok Gaara" Hinata asked concerned and Gaara nodded.
"I never expected being the leader of a shinobi village would require so much paper work" Gaara said "I rather be on the battlefield than stuck behind a desk" he said. "What I wouldn't give for a battle right now" Gaara said and Hinata giggled.
"Well after this we can go back home and eat a- "Hinata began to speak until a loud explosion shook the village "what on earth" Hinata said as she and Gaara stood up and looked out the window. The north wall was destroyed and there were 100 puppets in the air being controlled by chakra strings all originating from a single source.
Just then the door to the office opened and Kankuro ran in "Gaara; we're under attack" he said and Gaara walked over.
"By who" Gaara asked.
"The Akatsuki; we spotted them" Kankuro said "one is Sasori of the red sand and the other is an unknow but he was wearing a scratched-out Taki head band" he said.
"Hinata; go and get Temari, Tayuya and Lady Chiyo and take out those puppets and their wielder" Gaara said and Hinata nodded.
"Very well; be safe" Hinata said as she ran up kissed his cheek and ran out of the room.
"Kankuro; gather up the Anbu and prepare for battle against the Taki ninja" Gaara said "and send out a messenger hawk to Konoha at once" he said.
"Right" Kankuro said as he ran out of the room; Gaara began to run to the roof to prepare for battle.
'So, the time has come' Gaara thought 'I will not allow my village to fall' he thought.
With Hinata, Temari, Tayuya and Chiyo
Hinata, Temari, Tayuya and Lady Chiyo were all running down the streets which were on fire as they were about fight the puppets destroying Suna.
"Fucking hell; this is worse than what happened to Konoha a few years ago" Tayuya said as she ran with the others "so what plan you got cooking in your head Temari" Tayuya said and Temari spoke.
"Lady Chiyo, Sasori is your grandson; how should we engage him" Temari said and Chiyo furrowed her brow.
"Sasori is using his 'Performance of 100 puppets technique' right now; so, we must proceed cautiously" Chiyo said "the best way to engage him and his puppets is by fighting him at a distance" she said and everyone nodded. "Lady Temari; use your fan to launch wind jutsu and have Lady Hinata with you to act both as your spotter and your protecter against and puppets that get too close" Chiyo said.
"Ok; can do" Temari said.
"I will try my best" Hinata said and Chiyo nodded.
"Vert good girls" Chiyo said "I will be with Tayuya here; she can cover me with her doki while I engage using my puppets" she said and Tayuya smirked.
"Yeah, lets fuck shit up old bitch" Tayuya said and Chiyo laughed.
"Oh Tayuya; you remind me so much of myself at your age" Chiyo said and Tayuya smirked; Chiyo's face then became serious "now then; lets go see my grand baby" she said.
With Kakuzu
Kakuzu punched another sand ninja in the face with his hardened hand splattering his brains across the sandy ground; Kakuzu was surrounded by dozens of dead Suna ninja who tried in vain to stop him.
'Where is he' Kakuzu thought as he looked around; as he did a wave of sand came down from above, Kakuzu jumped back and landed a few yards away 'finally' he thought.
Gaara, Kankuro and about 20 Suna anbu landed ready for battle "who are you and why have you attacked my village" Gaara said his monotone voice hiding his rage.
"I am Kakuzu of Taki; and I am here for you Kazekage" Kakuzu said as he removed his Akatsuki cloak and threw it aside revealing his bare chest and 5 masks seemingly sewn into his body "now then shall we begin" Kakuzu said. Kakuzu released 4 of the masks from his body each having a different element; however, he kept the lightning mask in order to fight Gaara more effectively.
"You will not leave this village alive" Gaara said as his sand began to swirl around him "attack" Gaara shouted; Kankuro and the anbu all rushed at the masks while Gaara decided to fight Kakuzu personally.
Gaara launched a wall of sand at Kakuzu who used his earth hardening technique to make his body; the wave of sand crashed into Kakuzu but Kakuzu did not move a muscle as he pushed chakra into his feet to keep himself grounded. Gaara seeing his sand flow over Kakuzu used his hands to form the sand around Kakuzu; Kakuzu saw the sand began to crawl up his legs and begin to cover him.
Gaara using his right hand lifted Kakuzu off the ground "Sand coffin" Gaara said as he got ready "sand- "Gaara began until lightning began to erupt from the sand coffin and it began to dissipate. "What" Gaara said surprised as Kakuzu fell to the ground in a crouch.
'So my hypothesis was correct; lightning jutsu is effective against his sand' Kakuzu thought; Kakuzu canceled his hardening jutsu on his arms and began to charge lightning chakra into his fists 'now then time to commence my assault' he thought.
Kakuzu rushed at Gaara at an incredible speed and Gaara jumped back while bringing up a wall of sand to protect himself; Kakuzu seeing the wall come up cocked his arm back. Kakuzu using his lightning covered arm punched through the wall of sand and continued his attack on Gaara; Gaara cursed and began to use his sand to attack Kakuzu sending waved of sand at him.
Kakuzu jumped over one wave of sand and slid under another as he ran to the side and up a wall; Kakuzu ran to the roof of a building and began to go through hand signs 'lightning style: Lightning arrow' Kakuzu fired a arrow of lightning at Gaara.
Gaara using quick thinking made a sand platform under his feet and lifted himself off the ground; Gaara went up into the air using the platform to avoid the lighting jutsu. 'He's quite formidable' Gaara thought as he began to launche sand shuriken at Kakuzu who was now running across the roof tops.
With Kankuro and 2 anbu
Kankuro and 2 anbu were fighting against one of Kakuzu's masks while Gaara fought Kakuzu; Kankuro using his crow puppet launched a volley of senbon at the mask in an attempt to destroy it. The mask turned towards Kankuro and opened its mouth launching a stream of water at the senbon; the water knocked the senbon out of the air making them fall to the muddy ground.
However, when that happened both of the suna anbu came from the sides with their katana's out and vibrating from the wind chakra they were pumping through them. Both anbu prepared for a slash however the mask struck before they got close.
The mask elongated its arms and swatted one of the anbu to the side sending him through the wall of a nearby building; however, the other anbu used his sword to sever the arm that tried to hit him and went in for another slash.
The anbu slashed the mask across the body only for it to scream out in pain and not be killed; the masked opened its mouth and looked towards the anbu. The mask fired a concentrated stream of water at a high speed at the anbu who put his sword up in defense; however the water cut through the sword and shot through the anbu's shoulder severing his arm.
The anbu screamed as he clutched his shoulder to stop the bleeding; the mask went in to finish him off but Kankuro sent in his crow puppet. Kankuro activated crow's arm blades and the mask had to jump to avoid the blades; as it did so it was blown away by a powerful wind jutsu courtsy of the other anbu recovering from being sent through a wall.
"Get out of here and find medical attention" Kankuro said and the wounded anbu nodded and ran off; the other anbu ran over to Kankuro and spoke.
"I think it broke my ribs" the anbu said holding his sides.
"Stay behind me and proctect me if it gets close" Kankuro said as the mask got back up; Kankuro opened a scroll and summoned out his ant puppet 'this is bad; I hope Temari is having better luck than me' he thought.
With Temari and Hinata
Temari and Hinata were both on a roof top above a burning Suna fighting off Sasori's army of puppets "Wind Scythe Jutsu" Temari shouted as she swung her fan; Temari launched a massive wind jutsu towards a group of puppets descending towards her. The puppets dispersed at the last moment and out of a group of 10 only 1 was hit and destroyed annoying Temari "damn it" she cursed.
As the puppets descended down to the roof top Hinata jumped in front of her with her Byakugan activated "8 trigram vacuum palm" Hinata shouted as she launched a wind attack at a puppet destroying it. Hinata's hands began to glow as chakra formed around them and took shape 'twin loin fists'; as a puppet descended on Hinata she drove her attack into it shattering it into splinters.
Hinata began to dodge and jump as several puppets tried to attack her simultaneously; Temari seeing this closed her fan and ran in to help her sister-in-law. Temari swung her fan at a puppet hitting it with the steel plated sides; the fan made contact and smashed the puppet in half.
"Hinata, keep fighting" Temari shouted as she dodged a blade from one of the puppets "and don't get cut; remember the poison" she said.
Hinata moved her head to the side as a hidden blade from a puppet missed her by an inch cutting a few strands of her long hair "right" Hinata said as she began to attack the puppet.
With Chiyo and Tayuya
Chiyo and Tayuya were on the ground fighting Sasori and his puppets; Chiyo was using 2 puppets that looked like Sasori's parents while Tayuya was using her Doki.
Tayuya played her flute controlling her Doki as she sends her club wielding one towards Sasori; Sasori seeing this sent his poison tail at the Doki. The Doki swung its club at the tail knocking it to the side and charging forward; the Doki swung down at Sasori who dodged to the side and spun around knocking the Doki off its feet using his tail.
"How the fuck are you so big and so fast" Tayuya shouted as she sent her clawed Doki at Sasori; the clawed Doki closed the distance and began to swing at Sasori who dodged the attacks with ease.
Sasori looked towards Tayuya and fired a volley of senbon at Tayuya who had to move her final Doki in front of her in order to block the projectiles. As this was going on Chiyo sent her 2 puppets towards Sasori and Sasori focused his attention towards her; both the mother and father puppets were closing the distance and Sasori prepared to defend himself.
Sasori brought down a dozen of the puppets he was controlling and sent them towards Chiyo's puppets; Chiyo using her fingers and brought out the weapons of the 2 puppets she was controlling. The mother brought out a katana while the father brought out a whip studded with blades; the mother sliced through several puppets using the katana while the father used the whip to grab one puppet and threw it into another puppet destroying both.
"Bring back memories Sasori" Chiyo said "you used to love these puppets" she said and Sasori spoke.
"Yes, it's quite nostalgic" Sasori said "however I did not come here for that; I have a mission and I will see it through" he said as he swung his tail at the puppets trying to destroy them.
"Well guess what dick face; you're not getting shit from us" Tayuya shouted as she sent her Doki at Sasori.
"Haha" Chiyo laughed "I couldn't have said it better myself" she said as she and Tayuya began to fight once more.
With Gaara
Gaara was on his platform trying his best to try and fight Kakuzu but the rogue Taki ninja was proving to be a challenge; no matter what attacks Gaara sent towards him Kakuzu seemed to be able to counter them with ease. Along with that his lightning jutsu made it difficult for Gaara to land a successful hit as his earth-based sand attacks were going against its natural opponent.
Kakuzu went through hand signs 'Lightning style: Lightning senbon' Kakuzu began to fire small bolts of lightning at Gaara; Gaara seeing this made a slide of sand and avoided the attack. However, Kakuzu seeing and opportunity jumped towards Gaara cocking back his fist; Kakuzu threw a punch at Gaara and Gaara put up his hands in defense.
Kakuzu punched Gaara out of the air and onto a roof top bouncing off the ground; Kakuzu landed and charged at Gaara. Gaara got back up his sand armor cracking and bleeding but still able to fight; Kakuzu threw a punch at Gaara who ducked under the attack. Gaara remembering his time with Anko and Mamushi got ready for his counter attack; Gaara brought up his sand onto his fists and hardened them.
Gaara threw a punch at Kakuzu surprising him because he never expected Gaara to engage in taijutsu; Gaara drove his fist into Kakuzu's stomach and despite his body being reinforced by earth chakra still felt the blow as he coughed up his breath. Gaara followed up with an upper cut which landed; Gaara sent a kick towards Kakuzu but Kakuzu caught his leg and grabbed it.
"I never expected this" Kakuzu said as he lifted Gaara up and slammed him onto the ground "however it will not be enough" Kakuzu said as he charged his fist with lightening chakra. Kakuzu proceeded to send a punch towards Gaara who put up his hands in defense; however, the punch connected breaking both of Gaara's arms and driving down into his stomach.
Gaara coughed up blood as his ribs and chest fractured and his vision became blurry; the last thing Gaara saw before he lost consciousness was Kakuzu standing over him before his world turned black.
With Kankuro
Kankuro and his anbu ally were fighting Kakuzu's mask when it suddenly stopped 'What the hell' Kankuro thought until it turned east and began to run off.
"Why the hell is it running away" the anbu said; Kankuro was confused until he grew wide eyed.
"Oh shit; Gaara" Kankuro shouted as he looked at the anbu "spread out and find Gaara and that ninja he was fighting" he said and the anbu nodded as they both split up to look for Gaara.
With Chiyo and Tayuya
Chiyo and Tayuya were both fighting Sasori as he swung his tail to protect himself from both Tayuya's Doki and the mother and father puppets; as Sasori did so he felt a pulse of chakra from a seal notifying him that Kakuzu captured the target.
'Finally; I was growing weary' Sasori thought as he stopped.
Tayuya sent in her club Doki to smash Sasori who apparently stopped moving "got you asshole" Tayuya shouted as the Doki smashed Sasori into splinter revealing he was actually a puppet "what the fuck" Tayuya shouted. "He's a puppet; where the fuck is the real guy" Tayuya shouted.
Chiyo's eyes widened as she looked above and saw the remaining half of Sasori's 100 puppets began to fly away off in multiple directions "Tayuya; we've been tricked" Chiyo shouted "Sasori was never on the ground; he was in the air the whole time" she said and Tayuya went wide eyed.
"Fuck me" Tayuya said.
With Sasori
Sasori using his puppet body wings flew through the air surrounded by a small group of puppets over the Suna desert; Sasori scanned the ground below until he found multiple figures down below. Sasori descended and saw it was Kakuzu reforming with his masks.
Kakuzu looked up and saw a group of puppets land a few feet away and all but one fell down "nice to see you Kakuzu" Sasori said as he walked up revealing himself "and it seems you got the target" he said as he looked at Gaara wounded and unconscious on the ground.
"I've never seen you outside your puppet before" Kakuzu said as his water heart went back into his body "I must say it's underwhelming" Kakuzu said as he put on a shirt and picked up Gaara. "Now then shall we go" Kakuzu said and Sasori nodded.
"Yes; before they send a search party after us" Sasori said as both he and Kakuzu traveled north east to the land of rivers.
In Konoha (2 hours later): With Tsunade and Shizune
Tsunade and Shizune were leaving the hokage tower after a long day's work "god today was a pain in the ass" Tsunade said to Shizune "lets go get some food, some drinks and call- "she began until Shizune pointed into the air.
"Lady Tsunade look" Shizune said as a messenger hawk flew down; the hawk landed onto the ground revealing the Suna emblem on its scroll holder "it's from Suna" she said.
Tsunade reached down and took out the scroll and opened it; she read it and went wide eyed and looked to Shizune with urgency and slight panic "get Kakashi and Anko's team and have them meet me in the office in 15 minutes; Suna is under attack" Tsunade shouted and Shizune became worried.
"Yes, lady Tsunade" Shizune said as she ran off into the village while Tsunade turned around and walked back into the tower.
'They're finally making their move' Tsunade thought 'hopefully we can make it in time' she thought.
Ok another chapter done; I'm not going to lie from work and stress in life this was a difficult chapter to write and I hope you can all forgive me for being a little late with the update. But I'm not giving up
