Guardian Day.
One of the biggest celebrations across Cybertron and among other planets. Those planets had once been under Cybertron's rule are now standing on their own and the planets that had a government system like Cybertron was demolished, giving equality to all.
Guardian Day was to celebrate the original Guardians back when Prima was the Prime of Cybertron and Nickelback was the High Lord Protector of Cybertron- back when everyone was equal, one wasn't judged by whether or not they were a civilian or a warframe, an Autobot or a Decepticon or Neutral. The original High Guardian was Firequake, the son of Nickelback, who and along with other Guardians, had pushed back, fought and trapped the Quintessence away from every planet that had threatened every planet, threatend to turned every being into their slaves.
And, it was also to celebrate the ones who took their place, so many eons later. It was to celebrate a war that seemed impossible to win, but the Guardians never backed down, and they won- it was a struggle to win but they did.
Yes, Cybertron was celebrating it but Kaon was the hotspot, and it always has been every Guardian Day. Why? Firequake was born in Kaon and the current High Guardian was also born in Kaon. A city once was all in it's glory which took a great fall when the Autobots decided to put the caste system in place, making Kaon a dirty and dangerous city, back to it's original glory.
"Puh-lease," the youngling begged as he stayed close to the older mech, who looked just like his Sire but not at the same time. "We heard of the fight against Unicron."
The older mech looked down at the younglings and sparklings; he knew that they wanted to hear the whole story, of how the High Guardian was chosen and everything in between. The mech knows the whole story, down to the finest print, but hey, he wasn't going to deny them if they wanted a story.
He grabbed himself a chair and sat down, the younglings and sparklings waited with anticipation. "Okay," he said, his Kaonian accent was strong- he wasn't going to deny his however many great grandcreations the story, "first, I'm going to give you a brief story of when I was a High Guardian."
Back many eons ago(Firequake tells a brief story)
My Sire, Nickelback, was the High Lord Protector of Cybertron. A warframe, a true Decepticon and warrior at spark, which every mech and femme across the planet respected. You see, Cybertron flourished with my Sire and Prima in charge, they listened to every concern a bot has, especially when there was a point that energon sources was incredibly low or when they was word of the Quintessence attacking a planet that was quite a bits of way.
My Carrier, a Neutral from Tarn, had given birth to me when my Sire was still in as High Lord Protector, so I grew up in the public light. I called Prima 'uncle' and his mate 'aunt' as I grew up, their femme, Solus was like a sister to me, a close friend, indeed. I watched my Sire, when he would train, when he went out in the public and greeted others, I watched him in the Councel meetings which he despised. Cybertron was good and at peace, that only changed when quite of bit of time went by when Vector Prime and the High Lord Protector DiveRage was in. The High Lord Protector DiveRage was killed in battle, and Vector Prime, who was his mate, was in deep depression that he died of a broken spark, leaving their two creations to be sent to an orphange. So the Council changed the game, made Prime a military title, appointed 'Magnus' to become Head of State and the fall of Cybertron started. Though, that's a whole other story for later.
Anyways, as I grew up, trained with my Sire and the best in the military, getting ready to be the next High Lord Protector, there was an incident. The Quintessence had completely destroyed a planet called, Oitin, the planet was home to some artifacts of Primus just like Cybertron. While we have the Allspark, the life source of Primus, they had the Holy Goblet, which is the spark of Primus. There were some survivors that had came to Cybertron, and I remember standing beside my Sire while Solus was beside hers as one older mech, a Priest, was on his knees in front of us. I never had a mech kneel before us before, so this was new.
"I thank you for offering my people a place to stay," the Priest said. He was the High Priest of Oitin, and he was the one who would speak on behalf of his people. I believe the ruler of Oitin was killed before he even could give a command to defened their home.
"A great tragedy has fallen upon you and your people," Prima had said. "We give you all our condolences, and offering if there is anything we can do to help, we will do our best to get it done."
"Thank you, Prime." The Priest got on his pedes. "Thank you for having an audience with me. Though, I must say, I have came with a reason." The Priest kept looking at me, I did question why to myself but I knew the answer deep down, it had something to do with my ability. An ability that I never shared with any bot until now. "The Quintessence are never going to stop. If a planet does not fall to their knees in front of them, not allowing themselves to be puppets, to be slaves, that planet will die."
My Sire straightened. "We will not allow that to happen to Cybertron."
"I agree," Prima said.
The Priest took out a round, light reddish-pink looking object. "This is the Holy Goblet. The spark of Primus himself. It has been very active ever since the Quintessence started moving closer to our sector." He turned to me. "It whispered your name, Firequake."
I didn't say anything. I truly didn't know what to think.
My Sire on the other servo, well, was trying to figure out what the mech in front of us meant. "What do you mean?"
"Legend says when a threat is happening or is about to, the Holy Goblet will become active," the Priest informed. "It calls on the Guardians. Guardians who have abilities or not, they are called upon. It called upon Firequake, the very first designation."
I just stared at him. My Sire and Prima looked at each other, not sure how to take everything in. "It's... only a tall-tale," Prima eventually said, trying to choose his words carefully.
The Priest gave me a look. I hesitated, before letting out a sigh. I held my servo out, igniting it on fire. Solus jumped, it startled her while Prima and my Sire stared at me with wide optics. I let my servo burn for a couple more kliks before I let it stop. "I, uh, I had this ability for a while," I said, not looking at my Sire, cause I could feel his optics just glaring at me.
"And, you haven't told me about this?" My Sire asked. "Does your Carrier know?"
I shook my helm. "No." I knew that once we were done, and go meet up with Carrier for lunch, it was going to be brought out and it did.
The Holy Goblet lit up, catching every bot's attention. The light from it went incredibly bright which, I believe blinded every bot and suddenly I felt a warm sensation. It wasn't like a warm sensation standing by a fire but I felt it go through every wire, engulfing me completely. I felt myself change, there's really no words to describe it but that would have to be the next best thing to it.
When the Holy Goblet stop glowing, the warmth I felt stop too. I onlined my optics, I stared at the Priest for an explanation for what had just happened, and he was looking at me with a smile. Solus looked shocked, same as Prima and my Sire- and I've never seen my Sire looking shock with his mouth opened before.
I looked down at myself, my armour changed. My colours weren't grey and orange anymore, it was black and red, my armour was a bit more bulkier, my shoulders had spikes and I had a cape. The Holy Goblet left the Priest's servos and floated to me, I reached out to hold it, take it in my servos like it expected me to do.
The Priest smiled, but I didn't pay attention to what was being said. All I focused on was the Holy Goblet as it whispered out names of other Guardians to me and where I can find them. As nervous as I was, I didn't show it; I trained with my Sire since I was able to hold a sword without falling off balance. The Holy Goblet whispered to me once more before going dark:
Trust yourself, High Guardian. Doubting yourself would only make you fall.
