P.S.D! :1
A dark figure rose into the night, jumping from rooftop to rooftop, dodging every bullet that came its way. It swiftly jumped behind a rock. "Hey. 303 here. We need backup." it spoke lowly, pressing a finger against its ear. "Mhm. 4 men. Or five." It tapped her chin. "No, go with four. And hurry it up," it said as it looked from behind the rock. As soon as it did, a hand grabbed its wrist and pulling the short haired brunette into the light. She looked terrified. She tried to move her wrist, though it was no use.
Becoming desperate, she tried to loosen the grip, though it was no use. "Let me go!" she pleaded. The woman in the black bodysuit in front of her cackled. "Aww…Is little Audrey having trouble letting herself go?" she said in a babyish voice. The brunette glared through her mask. "You knew," she stated simply. The woman grinned evilly. "Why, of course I did," she sneered. "I never go hunting without knowing my prey,"
"CUT!"
The woman quickly let go of the brunette's wrist. "Great job, girls! May," The director,Jessie, said, turning to the brunette. "That was amazing! Especially the you knew part. Did you practice?" she asked. May blushed and nodded. "I did." she stated. Jessie grinned. "Well it sure payed off. Look at you! And of course, we can't forget about our little Leafy," she grinned. Leaf took off her mask. "Can we go now?" she asked hopefully. The director nodded. "Just give your costumes to the dresser, and then you are free to go." she smiled. "Good work today girls!"
Leaf and May ran to the change room. "That was awesome acting today, Leaf!" May told her friend. Leaf grinned. "Thanks! You were amazing too!" May laughed. "Thanks," she regarded. "So," Leaf started. "You wanna grab some lunch at Dawn's bakery before the big show?" she asked. May nodded. "Sure!"
They chatted happily as they walked to the bakery, that had a huge 'hiring' sign in front of it, discussing about their upcoming movie. The bell at the door jingled lightly as they entered. "Hello girls!" Johanna, Dawn's mom, grinned. "Hey Mrs. Berlitz!" Leaf and May chorused. "Dawn will be here in a few minutes. She had a fight with Barry yesterday," Johanna grimaced. "It wasn't pretty." she sighed before smiling. "Anyways, what can I get you girls today?"
May ordered two croissants, a few crackle cookies, and a mango, lychee, and strawberry smoothie. Leaf ordered a vanilla cupcake and some green tea. "Coming right up," Johanna said, leaving the girls' table. "Thank you!" the girls called after her.
Leaf turned to May. "I can't believe Barry and Dawn had another fight," she said. May nodded. "Seriously. I think they should just break up at this point." "They're not right for each other," Leaf agreed. Suddenly, the door opened, and in stepped a crying Dawn, with Misty consoling her. Leaf and May stood up immediately.
"What happened?" Leaf asked, hugging her friend. Dawn whimpered. "We-he-broke up with-with me," she hiccupped. Leaf held her tighter. "You poor thing," she patted her head. "Come on," she said , seating her at the table they were at earlier.
A while later, they had consoled Dawn, and she was fully better and ready to take on the world with a storm. "Thanks guys. You were right. He wasn't my match anyway," she told them, appreciation dripping from her every word. May smiled. "No problem," she said. Suddenly, the door jingled again, and in stepped the most handsome species of male Dawn had ever had the chance to lay her eyes on. His purple hair flowed just the tiniest bit as the door came to a close behind him.
Johanna stepped towards him and led him to the girls' table. "Dawn," Johanna said. "This is Paul. He's from the finest cooking school in the country. He'll be working here from now on," she told her. Dawn looked him up and down. "Mhm," she said, lost in his stormy grey eyes. "Paul, how about you help with the croissants?" Johanna asked. Paul nodded wordlessly and followed Johanna into the kitchen.
Dawn turned to the girls. "O.M.G," she squealed. "No one says that in real life Dawn," Leaf reminded her dryly. Dawn looked at her like she were crazy. "Are you okay? He was so hot," she fanned herself. Leaf rolled her eyes as May and Misty chuckled at their friends' behaviour. "So," May turned to Misty. "How is your dad doing?" her expression softened. Misty sighed and looked away. "Not good." she murmured. "We need 22,000 for the operation," she covered her face with her hands. "I can't get the bank to get me a stupid loan! Plus my boss at work cut my salary because the company got bankrupt!" she put her head down and wailed.
Her friends looked over at her sympathetically. "You could work here," Dawn tried. "We're hiring," Misty looked up. "Thanks, but no thanks. No offence, but your mother pays less than my half salary back at my job." Dawn looked downward. "We're sorry, we would pay you, and help you, but our parents wouldn't allow it," Leaf and May apologized. Misty dismissed the topic with a wave of her hand. "It's fine. Anyways, how's the concert looking tonight, May?"
A ring interrupted their conversation. May checked her phone. "Who is it?" Dawn peered over curiously. "It's Brendan. He wants me to go to this sweet party across the country," she told them. "Awww," her friends cooed. May just rolled her eyes. "Come on, I don't even like him that much," she reminded them. "Aww…" they deflated. May chuckled slightly and rolled her eyes before waving goodbye to them and running out the door where she saw Brendan's flashy red Ferrari parked in the parking lot.
"Hey babe," he greeted her as she approached the car. She smiled. "Hey," she said, getting into the car. "You look nice today," he said, scanning her from head to toe. She shifted uncomfortably under his gaze. "Thanks," she told him. "Let's go?" "Mhm,"
She looked out the window, day dreaming about the party, until she spotted a helicopter pad. "Woah, woah, woah," she started as she turned to face her boyfriend. "What are we doing here?" she asked. Brendan stepped out of the car. "We're taking the helicopter," he stated. May expression turned to fury. "You know I'm afraid of heights," she grit her teeth. Brendan rolled his eyes. "You're overreacting. It's a five minute ride," May opened the car door and got out of the car before stomping her way back to her house.
As she walked on the pathway, a hooded figure started following her. Lucky for her, she wasn't afraid of any of that stuff. A few seconds later, she turned to face them. "Who's there?" she thundered. The figure just ran, but not before throwing a magazine page in her face. She looked at it, before tossing it away uncaringly. Whatever. Probably some loser who wants me to be scared and not perform tonight. Some random death threat ain't gonna stop me, she thought to herself as she entered her house.
Her parents crowded her immediately. "Are you okay? Why are you covered in dirt?" they asked. May rolled her eyes and brushed past them. "It's fine, some loser just threw a death threat in my face, that's all," she informed them. "What?" May's mother, Caroline, gasped. Norman, her father, shook his head. "May…" he trailed off. "What?" May asked. "We've been thinking about it lately, and we've decided to get you a bodyguard," May's eyes practically popped out of their sockets. "Wha? But I've told you, I don't need one!" she folded her arms. Caroline copied her daughter's pose. "Sorry, but we're not taking no for an answer," she stated firmly.
"But-" May protested. "No buts. Your bodyguard will be here tomorrow." Norman cut her off before strutting over to his room with his wife in tow. May puffed out her cheeks angrily before heading out for her performance. This was insane! She didn't want, or need, some old dude following her every move! Guess I'll have to say goodbye to my privacy, she thought to herself as she looked out the window of her car.
