A/N: Just in case you have jumped in on this second piece without reading the first... as it says in the summary, this is NOT a crossover. It is 24 completely separate one-shots, 12 of which are Gilmore Girls, Rory/Jess stories, and 12 of which are Hart of Dixie, Zoe/Wade stories.
If you're interested in GG/Literati, come by on the odd-numbered days between now and Christmas, and if you're interested in HoD/Zade, come around on the even-numbered days. (Of course, if you like both, you're in luck because every day is good for you! lol)
This is my best attempt at doing something nice for all my regular readers and reviewers - I hope you all like it. There was just no way I could produce two advent calendars - I tried it once and it was just too much - and actual crossovers don't seem to get much readership, so hopefully, this is better :)

2. A Holly Jolly Emergency
'Verse: AU, in which Zoe & Wade never met before
Date/Timeline: December 2011
"So, Mr... Kinsella," said Zoe, referring to the file in her hands, "I'm Dr Hart, I'm going to be... Oh, okay, wow," she gasped, professionalism flying out of the window when she saw the man laid out on the bed before her - good grief, he was hot!
"Hey there, doc," he said with a full on sexy Southern drawl that made her toes curl. "I had me a little accident in the bar I work at. You know it's real full-on this time o' year and I went out into the alley to take out the next bag o' trash. Next thing I know, damn ice took my feet right out from under me and somethin' sharp got me right in the chest," he explained, briefly removing the balled-up material and revealing all over again his impressive torso that had taken Zoe's breath away once already.
"That does look nasty," she said of the wound, trying to concentrate only on the task at hand, "but it's okay, we'll get it cleaned up. It may be you need a few stitches, but don't worry, Mr Kinsella, I'm known for my precision with a needle and thread."
"I'm sure you are, but you know, you should just call me Wade." He smiled in a way that Zoe was sure made all the girls at the church social swoon - quite honestly, it was having quite the effect on her too, not that she was about to tell him that.
"Professional, you're a professional," she muttered to herself, grabbing the antibac.
She said nothing while she worked and was glad that Wade was quiet too. It was easier that way, easier for her to concentrate. Easier for her not have any crazy cowboy fantasies dancing through her head. Well, maybe she had one show up just for a second or two, long enough that she pulled a little too tightly on the needle and thread.
"Ow," said Wade, though he was clearly trying not to smirk.
"Sorry," she told him anyway, finishing off, then reaching for the bandage and tape.
She had to lean right over him and run her hand across his chest to make sure everything was properly stuck down. They were close enough, she could feel his breath on her face. Close enough that, if circumstances were different...
"I appreciate all the fine work you did, doc," he told her softly, making her shiver in the best way. "I had no idea they made real doctors that looked like you."
She met his eyes then, planning on telling him that doctors came in all shapes and sizes, not to mention both genders, all races, and so on. She never got the chance, when suddenly his lips were on hers in a brief but delicious kiss.
Zoe was so shocked, she didn't know what to say or do for a few seconds, then her eyes opened wide and she had to resist the urge to slap Wade Kinsella's face.
"What do you think you're doing?" she yelled instead, backing up a couple of paces.
"Hey, it's not my fault you go around with that thing on your head," he said, hopping down off the bed, his hand reaching out to gesture to the Santa hat she had half-forgotten she was even wearing. "That right there is an open invitation, doc, and trust me, when a woman looks like you do and does such good work and all, folks are gonna wanna take you up on that."
Zoe pulled the hat from her head and realised for the first time that it had mistletoe stuck right there on the front. Maybe she really couldn't blame Wade for the kiss.
"You know, I appreciate what you did for me here, like I said, so if you maybe wanna come by my place sometime," he said, his shirt now back on and a card from his pocket held out in his hand for Zoe to take. "There's at least one free drink in it for you, maybe more," he said, with a look that suggested he wasn't only talking about drinks. "See you soon, doc?"
Zoe smiled and took the card, nodding absently. "See you soon, cowboy."
A/N2: If you like the concept of this advent calendar, this first HoD fic in particular, or both, would love to hear from you by way of a review - thanks :)
